If perks were considered overperforming ruin and BBQ and chili would have probably been Nerfed a million years ago
The Locker Aura reading change was basically a BBQ nerf - Not directly, but it's one of the most commonly affected perks.

You say the Ds team will survive more. But we don't have any proof of that. I'm not saying you aren't probably right. But to claim it to be a fact is a stretch.
I've thought about ways to change Ds so it is closer to being a pure anti tunnel perk. I think maybe a shorter timer that pauses while in chase might be better.
It blows my mind that they even thought of making the timer 2 minutes, initially :P

Less than half the time. Solos must not be very smart if what you're saying is true.
I don't recall mentioning solos at all, but feel free to continue to disparage them :(
I usually see at least 2 DS per game.

I'm sure you play survivor all the time too. That ought to raise them numbers
This adds nothing to the conversation :-/
Since you've said DS isn't widely used/used a lot, how often do you see people equip DS in the games you play?
I'm genuinely curious.

When was I rude? If you can't read that's your problem. If you can read that's even worse because you're ignoring what I'm saying just because you disagree because of your ridiculous bias.
If you think me stating that DS is a meta perk because it increases survivability displays some sort of bias, I'm sorry - It's a fact.
Once again, I'm all ears if you can offer up an explanation as to why it's one of the most used perks in the game, particularly at high ranks (where "it doesn't even activate"), if it's not helping the people selecting it stay alive/escape in their actual matches.

Can you actually argue your point instead of acting like your opinion is inherently superior? A team with 4 Decisive strikes will survive much more frequently than a team with 0. That's just a fact. If you think DS doesn't have a profound effect on the match, you are either ignoring blatant facts or are out of touch with reality.
They've been consistently rude to several people in different topics throughout the past hour.
I'm just going to disregard their posts from now on.

It's obvious so I won't say it again.
It's unfortunate that you feel the need to behave as such in civil conversation, but given the strength of your argument, I can see why you'd feel the need to :(

I just got D-striked for the first time in months yesterday because I was trying to get archive challenges done. If anything the perk is essentially useless if you dont tunnel anyone.
*looks at plethora of videos found on this very forum showing people getting DS'ed in non-tunneling scenarios*

"Even when the perk doesn't activate (slugging), it still provides an extra health state if someone picks you up afterwards as you're still avoiding the hook."
This, in turn, also delays progress on the killer's objective, providing more time/opportunity to survive.
It can also cover bad/risky unhooks.
If you want to advocate that a meta perk is being selected across most high rank games despite it NOT boosting survival rates, I'm all ears.

Have something to say?
For sure.
I'm just curious as to how you came to the conclusion that a perk that allows an extra health state, plus a 5-second head-start (which ends up being ~15s if the survivor runs in just a straight line) doesn't help with survival rates. Even when the perk doesn't activate (slugging), it still provides an extra health state if someone picks you up afterwards as you're still avoiding the hook.
Doubly so given that "good" players like Otz are now intentionally eating it early in order to avoid dealing with it endgame.

If you mean Lightweight, its max rarity is Green.

I just don't get how people can think it's feasible, or even possible.

The day that killers are buffed to SWF power levels is the day the game will literally die.
It's not possible without breaking the game on several levels.

I finally did it ! on my 12th try , first time trying it with Wraith ! The survivors 3 genned themselves and at some point they gave up XD For the entire game the Claudette kept pointig at me to lead me on the other side so i was like "not taking the bait". But in the endchat she actually told me she needed the 4 stuns challenge and unlucky for her her teammtes dropped every pallet in one side XD
Congrats :3

It's fine as it is, but they should count any DC's as basement kills towards the challenge.
-
I play, at most, 2-3 hours a day, if that.
Completed all challenges and The Rift.
It is fine, imo.
You can always AFK Wraith your way to the top if you really want to.

Anyone that thinks this is remotely ok doesn't really care about the health of the game.

the best thing is, they cant even complain about you doing it!
like, you are merely defending your hook at that point, they are the sole reason you're still there. all they need to do to stop this "facecamp" is to leave the safety of their hooked buddies hitbox...
leading to their demise, of course xD
Guess it's time to become a "1 Hook Wonder" :D

Yeah, this guy seems to be confused about what a exploit is..
EXPLOIT:
In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, speed or level design etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.[1] Exploits have been classified as a form of cheating; however, the precise determination of what is or is not considered an exploit can be controversial. This debate stems from a number of factors but typically involves the argument that the issues are part of the game and require no changes or external programs to take advantage of them.[2]
In your own words, you stated "it is like a shield!"
I sincerely doubt that the devs intended that you can use this to apparently tank any hit.
@ASpazNamedSteve literally has video evidence of this being the case, even against 1 hit downs, apparently.
It's nice that this topic has brought all of this to light, and, most likely, to the devs' attention :)

Eh, I think the old one was healthier.
Unless I'm missing something this new one seems to not have much counterplay other than sitting there basically facecamping for a minute.
Also @Raccoon you're talking about the wrong tech.
Same difference - Unhealthy is unhealthy.
It just blows my mind that people that advocate/approve of unhealthy stuff like this are the same people you'll see in the same old tired balance discussions that go nowhere, for obvious reasons.
@NMCKE Mandy literally just stated what is publicly known. I doubt she has any further knowledge on what's going to happen to it in the future, as she is just a mod - Currently, it would not be bannable due to everyone and their mother knowing about it, no dev announcement, etc.
If it's going to be removed, it will just be patched out at a later date (RIP ORMOND TRACTOR, NEVER 4GET).
-
When this "shield that protects you!" is rightly patched out of the game, I'll be here :)
-
I see - So the quote that literally says "I don't know if it's intended, but it's in the game," is what you use to fuel your confirmation bias.
Realistically, if you want to assume that the devs literally programmed the game in such a way that you can partially unhook, run through the hooked survivor through magic collision loss, and then unhook for free, you do you.
Additionally, once this becomes widespread and killers can't "hit the unhooker" during poor rescue attempts, scummy play will intensify.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
sad how they removed the old hook tech made unhooking against a facecamper easy as #########
I'd rather the hook remain one of the most 'threatening' (air quotes because of the current hook rush/BT Farming I'm seeing) places in the game, particularly after they turned Killer Shack Basement spawns from "Oh my God, I may actually die/have my BT negated due to stair blocking" into a "Vacation Station (out the window, see ya!)."
-
It's an unintended exploit.

How does it make her boring? You just have to wait 4 seconds after 2 blinks if you spent all charges, and you always have the option to blink with only one
Blinking is her primary means of movement, patrolling, and chasing.
Depending on the map and survivors, you can literally be spending 1/4+ of your game in cooldown.
Exciting.

Well, his ptb games were fine, but im curious now. Do you have links?
Nurse was further nerfed (blink cooldown timing after attack) after the PTB.
Players played exactly 0 games and provided 0 feedback about the current version of Nurse before she went live - It shows.

2nd objective is the one most important buff killers need
That's not on the roadmap for year 4, as far as I can tell.
Have the devs mentioned anything concrete about it?
I honestly feel like it will never happen.

But you miss this important key point: having solos closer to SWF allows muuuch more buffs for killers in order to finally combat swfs. Otherwise we will be stucked in this unbalanced mess (sweaty tryhard swf groups making a complete joke about killers, sweaty tryhard killers making a complete joke about solos).
Seriously, NOONE is winning if we don't do this step. The onky group which keeps laughing is swf. They are the power role and will remain it, unless we finally fix this big issue between solo Q power potential and swf power potential.
There's no possible buff that the killer can receive to offset the free flow of information between SWF without breaking the game in their favor - the proposed plan of buff solo to SWF levels and then buff killers is never going to happen in the game's lifetime.
The best you'll get are band-aid fixes to perks which still leave solos at a disadvantage, as they are forced to give up build variety to 'be on par.'
Let's pretend that SWF and Solo are now magically on par (I dunno how) - How do you bring killers up to a level that combats all this freeflowing information while still keeping the game balanced, fun, and worth playing?
-
I'm ok with the current BT - Bad Survivors just use it to farm each other which leads to pretty easy games if you wait the 15s.

Basekit kindred, totem counter and a chase indicator for all survivors along with a must do secondary objective and buffs to certain killers would be pretty fair in my opinion.
A chase indicator would be way more problematic than most people realize - Everyone constantly aware of when they can crank out generators is not going to be healthy for the game, and is rarely an issue atm outside of good 3/4 man swf.
There's no secondary objective coming - I think that's pretty obvious at this point in the game's life cycle - It's not on the Year 4 Roadmap.

The gap between solos and swf's will never close if their solutions will always be in perk forms.

It's a pretty fun game once you get past the verbal abuse and self-harm encouragement you'll get post-game for clicking your mouse/using your wasd keys.
-
Thanks for the codes (I'm at work so I can't look around, but I own all DLC, anyways).
It's super rad to do stuff like this, but I think it would be better for everyone if it was done on a weekend so more people that need them can participate.
-
That makes actually bringing bbq a crapshoot, as you may get it for free.
Realistically, they're never going to program a thing differently for swf vs solo, as they do not want to punish people for playing with their friends ;3
-
There is no possible buff that killers can receive to make up for the information that SWF receives for free.
There's a reason you never see devs address this directly with what they actually plan to do for killers in this regard.
