Would be the viewed post ever. If anyone can get it to happen. I would love to do it.
Yeah, just as I thought Sluzzy didn't respond.

Keep trying. We MUST know what goes on in his head!!!
I find it ironic that I just asked Sluzzy a few minutes ago if he'd be down to do an interview.
Honestly I doubt he'll respond, but you miss every shot you don't take.

You might wanna swap the order of those emojis mate, cause right now we're talking about Break Lucky.

I would but there is way too many Freddy mains posting upset they can't as easy win :)
But it happens every time, a killer is nerfed and another buffed to compensate. Demo was already killing a lot.
Hey Sluzzy, would you be down to do an interview with @MrGimmsYouTube?
I'm sure many, myself included, are curious as to why you think killers are so op.
-
Overall, I don't think the changes will hurt him too much, though I'll have to see ptb gameplay for myself.
-
@Sluzzy said:
He's been needing some nerfs for a very LONG time. He is far from garbage, he can still teleport to gens. I was hoping they would nerf this too, like a longer cooldown or something at least.
Ah, I was waiting for the infamous Sluzzy to comment on the Freddy nerfs. I'm surprised you haven't posted a thread talking about how killer sided this update is, I mean, how DARE the devs buff Demo!

Twin changes, yes, but Freddy did need some changes. Honestly, I would've been fine with just the changes to his slowdown addons, but the other stuff is fine. Reducing his movement speed won't even change anything. You just sit at a pallet and place snares on each side of the loop, then play as normal. Nobody even uses dream pallets, so it's whatever there.
Good Freddy players probably won't notice a difference, while bad Freddy players that relied on "Forever Freddy" will actually have to play the game now.
As I've said before in this thread, I wanted Freddy to be made more skillful, not to be nerfed.
"Freddy needed some changes yeah, but a nerf was not the right direction to go.
Instead they should have made his power more skillful and fun for both sides. Because that's the problem with Freddy, it's not that he's strong, it's that he's strong and boring.
(Also I'm salty they didn't give us a way to play as Old Freddy.)"

Yeah but that would require effort and re-working some components of his kit, it's much easier to just nerf him globally by tweaking some numbers primarily.
This is BHVR, they are going to take the easiest route not the better one.
Yeah, I guess that's true.

Yes although I linked it I'm not sir if they saw it
Well if they were curious, I do hope they check it out.
I actually improved the chapter a little by vastly upgrading the detail in Jack's backstory, adding a description of the mori, and a list of voice lines for Jack. Honestly next I'll probably move on to making add-on's.

@[Deleted User] said:
Yeah, dumb changes not what I would have done or wanted at all.
Thing is I don't like playing as or against Freddy; I find him incredibly boring. So honestly even if he got nerfed into paste, from a selfish point of view, I honestly wouldn't care.
From a empathetic point of view though, I would have worked to raise his skill ceiling and potential while making him MUCH harder to play and aiming to lower his kill rate to all except people who actually earn high kill rates/victories through skill and effort and not because they press left ctrl every time a tinkerer notification comes up.
This is exactly my point, Freddy didn't need a nerf, he needed to be made more skillful.

everything you just said is this change Freddy is getting.
No it's not?
Now I'll give the devs some credit, I don't really know how they'd make Freddy more skillful, I'd probably have to do some brainstorming.
But Freddy is not being made more skillful at all with this update. His core gameplay isn't even going to change.
-
I don't think his strength will be impacted that much, but this nerf was still unneeded and not the change Freddy needed.

This dumbass nerf was completely unwarranted and not the right direction to take Freddy.

Why, if I may ask? Freddy needed changes from long ago, and Twins are weak and the only thing they're good at is proxy camping.
Freddy needed some changes yeah, but a nerf was not the right direction to go.

As for The Twins, I don't know why they felt the need to nerf an already underplayed killer. Eating a five second long stun after YOUR the one that played well just feels so awful.

I know someone who can gladly educate you @QwQw can help with this. So he created a fan made concept of what Jack would look like in DBD, basically Jack gets stronger the more the gens gets done and requires skill from the survivors end here a link to his work from one of my posts
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/232904/my-re-7-character-tierlist#latest
Do I smell someone who requires my assistance?
-
The Freddy and Twin nerfs are both unnecessary.
-
This nerf sucks. It didn't fix what was wrong with Freddy (Being Not That Skillful To Play)
-
I hate this nerf because it didn't fix what was wrong with Freddy. The problem was never that Freddy was strong, it was that he was strong and boring.
Instead of making his power more skillful and fun to interact with for both sides, they nerfed him into being a bland mid tier killer.
Not to mention they didn't give us a way to play as Old Freddy.
-
Not every killer has to be some big guy in a mask. Horror can take many forms.
-
I, for one like how bright it is.
Honestly making the maps sunnier could be a smart move by The Entity, because the sun in horror settings often symbolizes that the threat has been defeated, which in this case could give the survivors more hope of escaping. (Which The Entity Feeds Off Of.)

@Dabihwow said:
I honestly think it is possibly RE, I think they will add a mixture that is reminiscent of the old games, yet also with the new games, something to please both groups of fans. SO Jack Baker as the Killer, and Chris Redfield, and Jill valentine as Survivors.

Looking at how the ui was handled
its gone
I think that was just the devs being too stubborn to put the old UI back in the game after they spent money making the new one.
I'm confident that they wouldn't just completely throw out the code for Freddy's old power.

Maybe it just me or my tv but is it really that dark? I have no problem seeing on the map.
Maybe my Tv brightness just isn't that good, but on some of the other reworked maps like Badham, Yamoka, Autohaven, Macmillan, and the bottom level of The Game it's really hard to see survivors if they're wearing dark clothing.
I'm just happy I'll finally be able to see the people I'm chasing.
-
AT LONG LAST I HAVE FOUND IT, A MAP REWORK THAT ISN'T INSANELY ######### DARK.
This makes me very happy.

I mean how can you talk about RE 7 without Jack Baker, it doesn't feel right. In a way he symbolizes a lot of DBD symbolizes, where as Nemesis just doesn't fit the bill, sure hes the most iconic, but if they made him able to work in DBD ( Pallet stun, flashlight blind, etc) then he really wouldn't be Nemesis anymore, he would just be a big hulk of flesh. I like the guys way of implementing an RE chapter, mixing it with some of the Old with the survivors for long time fans, and mix it with the killer for modern fans.
Yeah that's pretty much how I feel.
I think it'd be the best of both worlds if Jack was the killer and Jill and Chris were the survivors (With Legendary Skins For Other Popular RE Characters.)
-
Did you really have to do me like that?

Ah, that truly is a good Dream. Which could have been real, at some point. It was possible, yet difficult, to win against a SWF on Haddonfield with Old Freddy.
Yeah, there should be a way for us to play as Old Freddy again. Get rid of Snares, Pallets and Passive sleep. Dream Projection can stay. And give us our power back. Please, devs!
I guess we can only hope that when they nerf Freddy they give us away to play as the older version of him.

I guess MArguerite is an option, although it would be hard to imagine an old lady with just a lamp, and doesn't truly move that fast. Not a bad idea though, however I think Jack takes center stage for the villains of Re 7, it really wouldn't be RE 7 without Jack
I mean to be fair, in the Mia Tape if Marguerite spots you she does sprint extremely fast towards you. I think she more so chose's to walk around lazily and let her "babies" do most of the work for her, instead of actually being a slow old lady.
Also side note; I am the only one who realized how insanely tall Marguerite is? Like Jack is 6-3 to 6-6 feet tall, and in the Bedroom DLC when he kisses Marguerite, you can see that shes only a few inch's shorter than him. Which means that Marguerite is like at least 6 feet tall. Obviously I understand why she's this tall from a gameplay perspective, it's done to make her seem more menacing and imposing to the player. But from a lore perspective, Marguerite is one tall lady! I guess compared to the average, Jack is also pretty tall, but not nearly to the level of Marguerite.
But I digress, imo Jack is still the best RE7 villain for dbd.

Holy ######### this entire thread was gold.

"but that's never happening."
Don't lose hope like that. I am sure me and other Old Freddy mains will get our killer back eventually.
As weird as it sounds, a couple days ago I had a dream about playing as Old Freddy on Haddonfuck against a swf, and somehow winning. It made me really miss Old Freddy.
I wish there was an add-on for him that got rid of his snares and passive sleep timer in exchange for giving him his old power back. Honestly if the devs really wanted to, they could probably do that; since I find it pretty unlikely they completely just erased the code for his old power.

Why not 15 out of 10? When I read your reply, I knew exactly you are a killer main. I looked at your comments, it's full of "entitled survivor mains" etc. Speaking of entitlement...in this game killer mains always state to have 110% escape rate and they always have higher escape rate than the official average escape rate, which is clearly under 50%, SWF and solo combined.
The REAL average solo survivor's escape rate is horrible, so no, solo is NOT playable. Nice try.
Buddy I hate to break it to you, but everyone who plays this game knows the stats are an unreliable source of information.
Solo que is fine the way it is; the problem is the games ######### matchmaking is putting good players with bad ones.
-
Dead Hard is literally a single player game ability that got put into a multiplayer game.
By far the most un-fun perk in the entire game imo.
-
Unpopular opinion, but Myers.
He just feels outdated, and honestly power creep has left him in a pretty iffy spot right now.
-
I don't see survivors running Dead Hard on here, so I guess I'll go with the Blendette option.
It's just so frustrating to lose a survivor (Or Not Find Them At All For That Matter) because of dark clothing.
-
Not really an internet mystery, but there's a YouTuber I watch called MrBallen. He covers a lot of strange dark and mysterious things in story format, including some cases from Missing 411.
Seeing how some people can just, well, vanish, into seemingly thin air will never not disturb me.

According to the wiki killers move at 92% speed when carrying so, yeah.. no way a survivor is getting hit running in a straight line without hacks.
Thanks for the correct numbers mate.

Like I said in the original post. No boost in play.
So no agitation
Then the Wraith was hacking or the survivors he was hitting were just not running away or something.
I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but I'm pretty sure when killers are carrying survivors they move at around 96% speed, and survivors (while running) move at 100% speed.
-
Uh, killers are slower than survivors while carrying.
That Wraith was probably running Agitation.

So what's your point?
Make Hex totem effects apply with no totems?
You killers ######### and moan making excuses and yet you guys clearly don't get the mechanic of the totems in the first place.
You SHOULD guard the totems. That's your secondary job if you decided to run hex totem perks.
I don't get why it's so hard for you guys to understand.
My point is that totems should be high risk high reward. Right now they high risk low reward because they spawn in the middle of an open field. Not to mention most of them don't even have that strong of an effect anyway.
Your point is that hex's should be easy to find and that it should be the killers responsibility to guard them. Except that's the problem, the killer doesn't have the time to guard totems. They have to juggle patrolling five different gens, they simply do not have time to guard multiple hex's as well, which means it should be the survivors responsibility to find them (since gens go to fast anyways).
Also, calm down. You're turning this into a "Us vs Them" argument when OP's point was that hex's are too easy to find.
-
@Homemade_Cookies said:

Yeah, and I found an entitled killer who wants everything revolving around himself.
Why should hexes be a treasure hunt?
It's your obligation to secure those totems if you chose to play risky tactics. That's why you see the god damn totem the entire time.
Yet you blame the survivors for cleansing what's there?
Pathetic to say the least.
You clearly don't play killer if you think they have the time to guard totems. Why do you think no one runs Thrill Of The Hunt?

Yeah, I guess Birkin as a legendary skin could work. Honestly there are a lot of Resident Evil characters that could work as legendary skin.
-
Yeah, Hex's suck. Undying is needed to make them last more than five seconds into the match.
-
What? Bubba is like one of the fattest mid tiers in this game.
