Only killers should be able to play map offerings.
Yea, no.
The last thing I want is to verse Boring Myers on Hawkins or Lery's without Spine Chill.
And you God know it those Myers Will only use these map offerings for their builds or not play with scratched mirror at all.
I'm all for scrapping map offerings or granting making the "no map offerings allowes" offering brown instead, so it can be spammed.

I prefer to get 20-30k base points as a killer in 10 minutes than spend 25 minutes to get that 32k farming with others.
Even with 500% more bp, that is just an additional 50k bp that requires you to waste so much dang time.
If you are farming BP, that is one of the worst ideas to do.
Also, farming BP with survivors/killer is so 2016, getting tons of BP isn't hard anymore.
-
Characters could be from different games.
Most famous are Leon (re2), Claire (re2), Jill (re1 & 3), maybe Chris (re1 & 3). Enemies, well, old classics were rather known for Nemesis, as it was the monster that hunted you through whole re3. Mr.X in original was... 2nd plan at best. Could be Birkin (re2), Nemesis (re3) or og Tyrant (re1).
Map...
Honestly, there are 3 most memorable "big" zones in the og series. The Mansion from re1 (indoor), RC Police Station (re2 and 3) and maybe Umbrella Labs (indoor maps)
However, even though I would hate it, it would be smarter to get RE4 generic Spanish Swamp village.
But I really do hope they do not bring anything from that horrible new series (RE4,5 and... Ugh... 6).
Killer could as well be some other monster and 2nd plan character. Probably not Hunk, as he is... Too bad ass to be just a survivor.
-
Freddy.
My favorite slasher from movies until he came to dbd.
At first his image was destroyed by being a Freddy Tier in terms of viability. Then even more by becoming bloated killer made. For noobs who have hard time doing 4k as a spirit.
Dbd made me hate my favorite slasher with all of my guts.
-
I agree with DH being brought in li e with others.
It is such a mutated beast, where it is either OP when used right and completely worthless when used the way it was intended.
I do like the distance removal BUT if killer uses M1 and survivor dodges is, killer should go into a much longer missed attack cooldown (mitigated by Unrelenting, giving it some more uses than just whiffing at loops on purpose).
Tbis would allow survivor to gain more distance without haste effect.
Other than that. Just make it a distance perk, but that's where current DS is OP at. (prolonging chases that are going badly with an I-frame on top of it).
-
SWF > Killer > Solo
It is SWF sided.
-
It is a very minor QoL improvement.
I don't think it is hard to tell if you have 5 or 4, as 5 is literally the half of the circle, quite easy to in probably all cases how many shards you currently have.
I would prefer they spend their extremely short dev time on something more useful, sorry.
-
13th of October 2016 (4 man hatch escape achievement), never played swf again.

ur not missing out on the originals, the first 2 game remakes are better than the ogs, the 3rd game is better as the original tho
They are better but there is some "cut content". Some monsters don't appear anymore in remakes (my beloved Giant Moth, which will be the new dbd killer) and you no longer go around rooms hugging walls and spamming that X or Square button (forgot which one was the action one on PS1, probably X).
-
It is already confirmed we will get Brad as a survivor and Giant Moth as the killer, both from original RE2.
-
3 genning is quite impossible to pull off against 4 alive survivors worth their salt.
Even in the scenario described by OP, play it exteremaly safe and push in pairs on 2 desperate gens.
Even in case of doc using beam and spamming it, either eat through it or time it and keep dodging while you pick on the gen bit by a bit.
I say it as a solo only player and I do understand there is probably a Meghead or two in your team who will die to an afk killer, but if they are just average, you will pull it off without breaking much sweat.
-
Spirit is extremely easy to play and using an argument that hearing is hard is just dumb.
Right now I sit on a generic realtek integrated sound card with cheapo 15$ headphones.
Due to how weak sounds are in dbd, it is more than enough to hear 95% of sounds besides few VERY minor cues. Spirit is nothing more than a homing missile with a sonar.
Before that, I used slitly more expensive headset, just 5$ more but also had a dedicated sound card, Creative Fatal1ty XtremeGamer Profesional, almost 20 years old card.
Besides cringe name... Holy crap. That card I bought for 25$, that made sounds in any form so dang clear, lively and extremely easy to pin point even on these dang cheap stereo headphones. Sadly, it was only for PCI slot and my new MB doesn't have any but only PCI-e.
So, to do great, you need a 15$ headphones, just a tier higher than Chinese trash you find in bargain baskets.
If you want to do flawlessly, get a sound card, basically anything but integrated, it will change your cheap crapsets into 500$ ones that makes you coffee each time you get a salty message from an SWF players.
Tl;dr
If the spirit player isn't deaf, there is no counterplay at all. Nothing, null, zero.
-
Killers: playing all besides the small pp ez mode meta ("freddy" , oni and especially spirit, never touching that disgrace)
Survivors: Claudette at dbd release, Nea as she released in 2016, then switched to Quentin when he came out, then to Kate. Waiting for a new survivor, preferable a fatty.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing that skin for Nemesis as one of legendaries.
Lady Nemesiscu, the nightmare of simping incels.
-
As a 2016 player myself, I disagree with most of your points besides Sabo being too short. But your suggestions to buff it are almost as bad as 2016 version of dbd.
-
The Dark Devotion was super easy, did it as Doctor, first try and done.
Used Dark Devotion, Tinkerer and Trail of Torment. This way I had a lot of undetectable states. The challenges just wants you to hit someone while being undectable and having perk Dark Devotion equipped.

It's funny because one of the arguments against color-blind options was that non-color-blind people could use them to gain an unfair advantage.
Well, it could have if key tracking cues were of an easier to distinguish colours than the background.
Mostly blood. That was the argument of color blind giving advantage to others.
However I do have a cousin who for the living hell couldn't see blood nor scratchmarks in vanilla.
Had to download some 3rd party software (he has AMD gpu) to change colour pallete to some weirdo purple greenish monstrosity.
Wont lie, seeing blood was so dang easy from across the map with that pallete, even though everything was like tripping on acid.
-
This doesn't fix the "toxic slugging".
I did slug like that many, many times, been slugged like that too.
The only thing that should be added is to speed up bleeding out for survivors.
A charge up ability that takes around 10% of your total bleed out timer and makes you scream (inaudible/hidden for those survivors suffering from blindness).
About those who complain about survivors rage quitting by suiciding on hooks, well.
You are slugged, you are now forced to lay on the ground for 4 minutes straight, be picked up by some Meghead, who now traded herself for you, which means you either run for a while and trade yourself for another slug or just get downed, wasting a lot more of your time.
A lot of survivors DO already dc when they experience that, because it is actually faster to wait out 5 min time out than be in such a match.
Thus, implementing a way to speed up bleed out is a much better solution, even though I like to force a 4 min bleed outs on some cocky SWF survivors who wanted to have a baby killer to bully, instead got me.
-
He is just boring. He is either utter crap (outdoor maps) and game becomes nothing more than m1 sim with ocassional hold W until he gives up or it is an indoor map and it is just stupidly annoying semi camping myers who will in 90% heavily proxy that Meghead he grabbed of a gen. (NEVER in my 3k hours haven't seen any Myers who runs this build do anything else).
He is not scary, he isnt even causing any sort of jump scares. I have no idea how you can be jump scared by him. After playing this game for longer than 50h he is nothing more than an asthmatic mouth breather with a 5$ knife.
It is just a slog fest of annoying events, either by outdoor map (he may as well go afk; match is extremely boring without any opposition to face against) or indoor map (solo queue is hell enough, Megheads will doom your team really quickly, especially against a killer with no TR).
-
That's a controller issue and it's action mapping.
That doesn't happen on kb+m
I've heard it also causes issues with healing survivors under pallets, causing them to be dropped instead (often seen on montages about stupid teammates doing stupid things).
-
Resident Evil when brought up brings these characters to mind:
Leon, Claire, jill, Wesker, Nemesis.
Also T virus zombies, lickers and doggos (half eaten dobermans) .
Mr. X became quite popular with re2 remake, as in original he was... Meh, the guy in green jacket.
This means, in the RE chapter for dbd we will get Brad Vickers as survivor and the Giant Moth as the killer.
-
Am here since release. Barely playing this game anymore, though.
At first mostly killer, like 80:20.
Since early 2019, it was mostly 60:40 for the killer.
Early 2020 it was like 70 for survivor, 30 for killer. Now mostly jus survivor if I bother launching this game. Maybe one or two games of killer per week and rest survivor, about 10 or 20 games a week total (max).
-
They ordered a new version, but due to Evergreen being stuck and blocking the canal, the shipment from China got delayed.
Don't worry, the change will come in the upcoming 5 years.
So hang in there!
-
I'm trying TOO HARD to squint my eyes enough to see what you guys are seeing, but the survivor's ear cannot be unseen by me, instantly dropping me back to reality of what that icon is...
I assume it is survivor getting their shoulder grabbed, as it just fits the perk and its stalking nature.
But for the damned magic man in the clouds, I cannot see how you could see a djinn's lamp in this.

If your survivors drop pallets on you while cloaked then that speaks volumes.
Slowdown makes it impossible to dodge the OUTDATED light burn mechanic now.
Why the freaking frak of frakking you keep uncloaking when survivor tries to burn you???
That's so 18 rank play...
If a survivor tries to burn you, stop uncloaking, start evading, ideally run 360 around their model or dip behind a cover.
If they shine at you they are not making any distance.
As day 1 dbd player, Wraith got a buff. He has a built in windstorm, an addons that was used 24/7 on most wraiths in high rank, heavily limiting use of different builds and addons. The same way as with Trapper and his bags.
-
There are two bp pools.
One is a normal one, which accumulates BPs from gameplay. It is limited to 1 million of BPs.
Another one is an event/refund/bonus one, it doesn't have any limit.
The BP counter You see is a sum of both pools.
-
With 2600 hours, I've got all perks only on Trapper (legacy 3), Wraith, Billy, Nurse (legacy 3), Huntress, Demo, Pyramid, Deathslinger.
All of them are of course p3.
Some are p3 but without all perks (Doctor, Pig, Bubba, Blight, Ghostface, Hag, Clown, Oni)
Rest arent p3, thus no all perks on them either.
Survivors..
I've got legacy 3 on New, p3 on Quentin, ace, Kate and Jeff.
Kate has the most perks, but still lacks like 8 or 9.

What happened to horror element in game X?
MULTIPLAYER
Game cannot be scary when you are versing another person playing the bad guy.
Horror or fear in general, works on unknown aspects. You are not really afraid of something you understand.
You may be careful around things that are dangerous, but not scared of them.
Another things are phobias, being scared of something in an irrational way.
But DBD cannot be scary because of multiplayer aspect.
Jump scares aren't "scary" btw.

Not true. If you tank a hit and they're carrying a survivor to a hook, they're probably not going to drop that survivor. I've tanked and crawled pretty far away and gotten myself up.
Due to distances to hooks, it is more of a gamble tbh.
Not only that, finding recently slugged ones even with Tenacity isn't that much of an issue.
But yea, that is one way to use Tenacity and No Mither to a good way. I will test it too, not going to lie.
But if I was on killer's spot, I would drop the carried survivor and pick up the no mither guy and keep the other slugged instead in case of no nearby hooks to rehook.

sabo and being downed in a dead corner is basically begging killer to slug you to death.
With a no mither he will have to babysit you, which equals to nothing more than a killer hard camping You to death but instead of 120 seconds he needs to sit there for more than 240 seconds.
I don't understand your argument.
With No Mither you basically want to be slugged...
-
@Profezia said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2049656#Comment_2049656
that's the point of no mither though - to force killer to pick you up thus ultimately preventing slugging
Exactly which makes Tenacity an overkill, as just having No Mither makes your chances of recovering next to null.
It would be smarter if you want to force pick ups to use perks that make it harder for the killer to carry you to a hook.
Sabo and being downed in a dead corner is an example.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
I think a good 4th perk would be Tenacity, as it lets you crawl away quickly while recovering. You can take advantage of No Mither's lack of blood and reduced noise in the dying state if the killer slugs you for a little while.
No one will EVER leave you slugged with no mither.
Why would you even suggest that?

The thing is nobody complained about Billy at all. He has always been regarded as the most fun to play as/against. Don't blame survivors for something BHVR did.
Many complained about insta saw addons (same as with instant hatchet for huntress, etc), it was the main complain.
The overheat thingy isn't that much of an issue either, how many times will you overheat during a game? Once? Twice? None?It just lowers the "spammability" of your abilities, certain killers needed it. Though, Billy suffers more from new bugs, rather than "OmG oVeRhEaT sUx" nor from new addons (he needed his insta ones nerfed, new ones are meh though).

It's VERY hit or miss, just like how Hex's are an all or nothing perk I guess.
I once had a totem spawn in a SEALED ROOM on Dead Dawg Saloon. You know, the side rooms in the main building with windows and/or breakable walls? I was using Small Game, so I knew the totem was around there somewhere, spend about 2-3 minutes searching for it. Then I realised one of those rooms was completely sealed off. It had no window, and only one entrance was a breakable wall that the killer had not yet broken.
But there is no completely sealed rooms on Dawg Saloon...
There are. 2 rooms upstairs, one has an entrance from inside via doors the other via window from the outside (totem spawns there behind the nightstand)

Yeah that’s fair. Dbd didn’t really care about certain things like colour blindness or motion sickness
Well, they do. If some random dud with a checkmark next to their twitter name says something bad, they instantly drop their stuff and go into emergency mode and focus on implementing that feature in few hours to appease to Twitter gods...
-
Totem spawns currently are in a much, much better spot than they were back in the day.
They were HORRIBLE. Either survivors spawned on top of a lit totem with their intro camera clearly showing them where it is OR said totem was up to 2 meters from a generator in plain sight.
None were hidden or obscured.
Only swamp maps had "decent" spots due to foliage on the borders of the map.

Yes, it is terrible and it is for a reason.
Limited FoV makes it easier for survivors to avoid killers.
It is fine, though for some reason I preferred release version FoV or rather PoV.

Yeah because most ppl look at the sky when trying to reveal him...
No its not works just fine, i play against him alot and every time he expose me while he out in the open like Myres.
the only times works is when 2 survivors look at him at the same time.
Then stop looking into said sky.
All it takes is hold him for a while in central part of your screen. Doesn't matter if your character model has line of sight to him or not. You can be fully behind a cover and still reveal him.
It is all on you if you sit in the damn open against GF and expect to not be exposed.
Hide your model and be on lookout. If that is too much, use spine chill if you are having issues with being constantly exposed.
Hell, toss in Premonition if you really want to.
You will still be exposed anyway sooner or later, but revealing him is just as easy.
Practise your aim if you cannot hold something in the middle of the screen for just a few seconds, it should help you in that situations.

@TWiXT said:
I've said it for a long time:
They need to change the Reveal mechanic from a 2 dimensional area of the screen behind the survivor to a 3d invisible flashlight beam emanating from the survivors heads (due to size differences between the models this would put it at emiting from the avg male survivors chin, and the avg female survivors hairline). Think something like the killers red stain, only wider, invisible, and extending as far as 32 meters, but like the killers Red Stain and flashlights, It's distance can be blocked by objects, especially when the survivor is crouching below them.
This way, survivors can only reveal Ghostface when their characters head is high enough to see him, so no more crouch-hiding behind a box to reveal him, or using the 3rd person camera to reveal him around corners, but it also ensures that the survivors reveal mechanic isn't blocked by their own model anymore, and that a relatively unobstructed view of GF will reveal him every single time. To me, this idea just seems more fair, and will work better than the current system does, but what the hell do I know... I'm not a game developer.
That would be even more clunky than some people consider it right now. On top of that, due to weird hit boxes on certain objects, as that would probably be used for tracing your line of sight, I guarantee you, it would be billion times worse.
It works just fine right now, besides some weird percentages of people who cannot hold GF around middle of their screen without blocking their Los with their own character.

Because console typically meets the requirement to trigger it. High ping.
But I already told you that aim assist is client side (hitting walls instead of survivors) .
So how does ping goes into the equation here?

How do you know their PC? Crossplay icon shows up even on different consoles
As @ChiSoxFan11 said, as a PC player you see other PC players without any icon, console users have that globe icon.
Exception being Windows Store users who play on PC. But there are only 3 of them. Those three guys also have crossplay icon.
About the names, well, we can use whatever name we want, as it uses steam's current nickname that can be changed at will. Even if someone else uses it, hence you may find a lobby with 4 same looking survivors who also have the same name.

What about aim dressing? Anything 70 and above causes it to suck you into walls instead of hitting survivors. Is that my fault to?
No, that is the aim assist (or aim dressing if you wish to call it like that) that cucks you when attacking survivors next to objects or around corners/thin walls.
It's been like that since release, we all complained. Devs first said aim assist doesn't exist, then that it is aim dressing, then they are looking into making it less cuckable and now it is in perpetual "We are looking into it".
Dunno why you brought it here, it has nothing to do here, as it is a client side assist.

I have to disagree with this. I remember hitting high ping survivors few times, hearing sound of them being hit and they ended up not being hit, so...
And when did that happen?
The only time seeing anything similar to it was tests of hit feedback and me throwing a hatchet into a survivor who dead hoarded and it was just blood particles and hit sound that confused me..
-

Yeah.. its on me that grabs get cancelled and a point blank hit to the face phases through the survivor and my camera spazzes out while they are at full health. totally ME not the game at all.
A killer with 1000 ping is at an advantage but when it is the other way around the survivor has the advantage.
Grabs are another thing, not directly tied to survivors ping.
It will cuck you no matter what their ping is. Been like that for a year or two. Actually, the higher their ping is the better chance of you actually grabbing them.

Nope not true I've revealed GF by just having him in the corner of my screen and I was behind a rock it's definitely broken I used to main him until I realised why I was constantly being broken out of NS it needs a better mechanic because the game rarely registers that he's there in front of you.
Nice story, but I don't believe it.
It works PERFECTLY fine.
Never had any issues with breaking him off the stealth, ever.
All you need to do is having him in middle portion of your screen with plenty of his body visible to you.
You don't need him to be pin point center, just around there, think of it like a generic fps with a stereotypical sawed off shotgun. Pellets go across huge area, same with his reveal zone.
You need to remember, your character model may block your line of sight of him.
Seen some streamers (popular and considered as top ones) to fail at this and screams "reveal mechanic is broken and doesn't work half of the time", which is utter crap.
It works, you are just doing it wrong.
-
High ping favoring survivors is an old thing, not sure if it was gone in early 2018 or 2019, but it is really long gone now.
If they have high ping, it only favors you.
So if you cannot hit a survivor who is connected to McDonald's wifi, that may be on you. Sorry.
To answer your question. I see mostly pc survivors on red ranks, barely any console ones.
-
It wouldnt be that bad, however there are situations where you MAY be able to escape if you happen to be downed in an area without any hooks left and struggle away due to the distance to the next hook.
But.
To be real, killer will just slug you and make you bleed out instead. I did and would do it again. I've been on receiving end too, killer either picked me up and dropped few seconds later, as he noticed all hooks are so far away.
The only time I can see you escaping away is in such scenario is against brand new players.
Thus I'm neutral for that change. It would slightly speed up the end game process.
It would also remove the stupid ds invincibility after kobe/deliverance as a last survivor.
-
@Dizzy1096 oh, you are such a young creature that didn't experience the true hell of Sabo meta in 2016/2017.
Such innocence is precious.
Current Sabo is perfectly... Weak and would require some sort of a small buff of sorts, but I have no idea what kind.
-
No it is not.
Also
It is fun with open handed.
-
PWYF just got a sudden surge of spasmic sensations followed by release of suspicious liquid.
This, to follow your suggestion, No. Too strong, would become "DS like" meta, completely unfun to verse and mindless to run.
