Background Player is a bully squad wet dream, it's not a chaotic perk like what Nicholas Cage brings to the table. The main demographic it appeals to are people trying to ######### with you. If we want chaotic and silly gameplay back, there should be no invisible walls and they should stop patching out techs.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3704640#Comment_3704640
I thought Resilience + Spine Chill was based back in the day when they could be combo'd
15% bonus vault speed is like 3 frames and everyone lost their mindsSome techs need to go, like Hug and Locker.
Patching in invis walls is dumb.

I'm surprised you only play killers. So if I just went off on you for some of your comments, I apologize. Now back to the topic at hand. Yes, DBD needs change. I've said that many times. If it were up to me, one less chapter. (3 a year would be perfect) and more quality of life changes instead. I don't like this "us vs them" either. By the way, I play both sides 50-50. There are sooo many good ideas from some people. Unfortunately, not so many of them are implemented. What we need is not just new items in the store or new chapters.... What DBD needs is Quality of Life. Bug fixes and the cheater problem first and foremost.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3704540#Comment_3704540
I know that this is of course a small indicator of where things are heading. All good
I doubt even 3 Chapters per year would help.
BHVR just updates too slowly and too poorly.
We waited two years for a Twins rework only for it to be universally trashed within five minutes because EVERYONE could see it was bad.

Yes very much my fault a survivor intentionally goes down in the open or on a pallet and I’m playing a 0 mobility killer let me just scare them by looking at them. I’m not going to pretend the majority of bgp users get a save against me but you’re going to remember the players that use it very well.
Well yeah but that's just negativity bias. You'll remember bad things well.

Not sure what swing perks means, sorry. I guess chaos wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that chaos in this game usually means being fun at the expense of being uncounterable but right now I don't think more perks like this is ever going to be a good idea.
That idea isn't too bad actually. It would still be good but not overbearing anymore if it's not unlimited. Make flashbangs not work when facing a wall and this would be pretty fair.
Only problem though is that it could be infinite easy sabos if you don't ever go for the save, but I'm sure they could find something for that.
Well, Sabo's on a pretty big cooldown and toolboxes are finite and better used on gens, honestly more of an issue with hook spawns.
Swing perks are perks like DS, NOED, etc etc that have the potential to swing the game.

Then maybe we should stop adding perks like it and it won't be cycle?
I'm the opposite honestly. Chaos like BGP isn't fun. Adding more annoying stuff is just annoying. Nothing is fun about 'chaotic' perks like BGP. They are fun to use but miserable to play against.
Chaos like BGP is something the game sorely lacks nowadays.
I believe the more technical term would be swing perks.
Oh! Actually, furthering that thought. Maybe make BGP no longer and Exhaustion perk, stop it from stacking Haste and make it usable only until you get a save. Now you get one real use, but the perk isn't dead.
-
Killer and Survivor speedboosts (and reductions) are not equivalent.
I do think Shadowborn could probably use a buff, but I don't think it should get compared to perks on a totally different role.

Yea it gets them not doing gens and instead denying pop/pr so the first few gens pop while the killer gets nothing. Altruism is the strongest thing survivors have and 4 man goofball squads tossing the game isn’t proper altruism.
Altruism has been and always will be the biggest threat to any team.
If you're losing downs consistently to BGP, it might be you. Sometimes, theres nothing you can do, but most of the time there is.

Except people aren't complaining about something that's been in the game for ages like Sprint Burst or Lithe, it's something that become problematic as soon as it was buffed. Of course people are suddenly going to complain about something that wasn't an issue before when it suddenly becomes one.
I agree that this community is always looking for something to complain about, but this doesn't really apply here when it's not really a 'flavour of the month' complaint like Distortion or Lightborn because it's only now become an issue.
It definitely is a flavor of the month one.
It's a strong perk, but it's just something for people to blame their losses on, ultimately. I'm sure it will get nerfed, and maybe it needs to, but ultimately people will go back to slamming gens, well get another perk like it and do the same thing over again.
I'd rather see more perks like BGP on both sides than remove it. Amp up the chaos

Wait, you're not serious, are you? If so, please explain why BGP is not problematic 'cause I'd love to hear that one.
When you've been around as long as I have, you start to see the same patterns emerge, year after year.
As soon as we nerf BGP, it'll take about two weeks before we're flooded with complaints about gen rushing. I don't see any other option at this point to satiate people, but BGP does get people doing something other than gens.

Over 20,000 posts is quite a lot. I'd be interested to know if you do anything other than spend all day on the forum posting pro-survivor comments. Just a question, for the sake of interest
Well, I've been on the Forums for five years, so there's that.
Likewise, you aren't the first person to accuse me of being a no-life Survivor main.
Fun fact: I play almost exclusively Killer. When I played, I took it as far as I could and dabbled briefly in competitive DBD. Ultimately, I've backed off the game and Forums because I don't like the direction they are going. The game is out of ideas, the role I prefer has lost any real challenge and I see no indication of change.

I think neither should be deleted or nerfed in my humble opinion. If they just fix the no collision when tossing a flash bang against the wall I would be happy. Leave everything else as is.
Survivors already don’t have a lot to work with and taking this away I think would way too much.
Do you agree, my friend?I think the pallet save aspect of BGP is more impactful.

If you get this kind of Chucky (the one that doesnt use scamper, except for when already running and screaming, the match is really fun.

there no bad or good at the game some people going have a lot of bad games and goods games but the game is a buggy mess with Messed up MMR when you add what map or item perks add on used the game becomes a coin flip
on top of all the there what killer is used on map ( like some maps are good for some killers and bad for others or vice versa)or these all solo or some swf if not all swf.
still gos like this
SWF>Killer>SOLO
so yea killer is a little easier but if you get a swf group 2/2.2/3.solo/4 or 4 Solo that work like there swf group then a lot of killers are in trouble in that match.
SWF still gets out less than 50% of the time.

Nerfing flashlights and flashbang is a mistake.
Nerfing BGP is also a mistake, but it's less of a mistake than nerfing the former.

People have different taste.
I personally would put Wesker in the lowest tier to play as and in one of the higest to play against. Can´t stand playing him for some reason.
Im also positively suprised how high Knight is in most of these lists. Im so glad that his reputation has changed this much. If he´d just got this much attention from BHVR to fix him as he gets from the players.
Obviously yeah people have different tastes but Twins, SM, Chucky and Trickster?
I could see how maybe people have softened to Twins, even though they're slugging machines. Trickster is just, " You die if there's no high walls and if there are, you die slightly slower. Also, lmao, get camped."
Chucky is, "Scamper, go under pallet, M1, repeat.
I don't even need to mention SM.

I mean shes basically an M1 killer with no chase power. As long as a survivor can keep her occupied for 5 gens then she has no pressure and each chase she gets is almost definitely going to cost her a gen because again, M1 killer with no form of game delay until she downs someone
Ambush is fine in loops against most Survivors. It's a perfectly serviceable tool.
Her real issue is lack of map pressure.
Her Traps are actually extremely good game-delay tools. Barring Pinhead, they're probably 2nd best.

The game is in a good state or as good as its ever been. Generally in DBD if there is nothing completely breaking any of the major mechanics its in a good state. The fact buckle up, for the people is the biggest grievance a lot of people have right now speaks volumes about how far this game has come but I don't think its getting better in every way I don't enjoy survivor nearly as much as I use to because a lot of the newer killers I don't enjoy playing against (but ive said this so many times in not elaborating)
This next part is going to be blunt but im not naming anyone nobody needs to take what i say personally but if i am going to give my full opinion not self censored it is…
The Forums are awful its not as bad as stuff like the overwatch forums but DBD has a better community than overwatch so that's to be expected compared to the overall community howver meaning the in-game Playerbase, it's Comp community, the YT community, the Twitch community, Dbds Discord, and Reddit. I think Reddit and the DBD Discord are the only worse places but then again a lot of the players there are new.
You tend to see the same things being posted over and over but that's mostly because if you make a long post about anything outside of what is already considered the consensus it won't go anywhere.
Nobody is willing to type long responses to long posts to talk about the game really you will just see a 2 line response that says you are wrong about 1 of the 6 things you talked about in your post and it will get upvoted 17 times and now people saying "the same things get posted all the time these forums are boring" and I can't stress this enough. So I'm making it bold and splitting it up
LOTS OF YOU FORUM USERS NEVER ENTERTAIN NEW IDEAS SO WHY POST THEM I'VE SLOWED DOWN CREATING NEW THREADS AND NOW I MOSTLY COMMENT. I GUARANTEE OTHERS JUST GIVE UP GIVING THEIR OPINIONS ALTOGETHER.
On a side note you will see people saying that it's just "both sides doing us vs them shenanigans everywhere" and if we are being real these posts are not common and you can tell what they are when reading the title you need to go out your way to see them cmon.
lots of people just refuse to think for themselves and post anything outside the community consensus. Before Scott Jund made a video about tunneling you would see threads about tunneling all the time and even accounts from users that have been around for years talked about it like it was DBDs biggest problem now where are you all im going to smugly say I commented a month ago that tunneling was an overrated issue and it's been gradually decreasing because i will say what i see in the game and not self-censor (i think that much is obvious from this post) but so many players here feel like they are either balancing their opinions based off what others would post or just don't think for themselves.
I honestly think these forums are full of people who all have the same ideas saying the same things over and over again and if anything new is said its not entertained so anyone saying these forums are boring and nothing new is posted needs to understand this forums community creates this situation which means as a forum about DBD it's failing in its purpose because people don't say anything new about DBD or are willing to discuss the game in any form of depth.
Thats my honest take i don't know if it will be taken down but if you want my thoughts about the forums thats it. I'm considering leaving them tbh because i dont see a point in them as they are.
That's why I'd be super interested in a "podcast" Forum.
It can be really hard to type out replies and give things the proper attention, not to mention misunderstandings and such.

Once again I'm glad they walked the twin changes back but I'm not happy with the amount of time it took them to do the QoL changes. Also I still think this is one of the more boring patches. "For my experiment I included anybody getting tunneled" Literally quoted from the video.
So he did take into account other people being tunneled and says that it was included in the data.
I believe that was in reference to his own games, not the survey which notably only asked when you got tunneled and gave a fairly strict idea of what tunneling is.

Sure, such a playstyle does exist, such a strategy probably could use something of a nerf. But if we're going to base literally all of our opinions on a killer on the absolute worst they have to offer, then we should really also be preventing Wesker from being allowed to see infected survivors, to curb his tunneling, and we should make it so Spirit is visible while phasing to circumvent her accessibility issues, and we should probably also make it so cages of torment don't take a hook state to make Pyramid Head less of an effective tunneler.
If your argument is that she has some problems, yeah, I'd agree, I don't think she's perfect, she probably needs a little fine tuning, but she's far from the worst a game with characters like Spirit, Trickster, or Chucky has to offer. Having problems doesn't mean a killer needs to be scrapped entirely. If it did, we wouldn't have a game to talk about.
Wesker's Infection should pause after unhook until a Survivor does a conspicuous action.
No way to fix Spirit, unfortunately.
PH's cages should be adjusted.
She's still the worst Killer on the roster, evidently most people feel the same, all the rework did is move her closer to Knight

It's literally what the player is implying by pushing these buttons.
I'm not reading anything into this. It's what happens.
The dbd community always had a problem with attitude, but there was always a fine line.
With this, people have crossed that line. Even a child gets told to not do things that are this inappropriate, but in dbd, people can do it to their hearts content.
Again, how are people fine with this?
Probably the same way people are fine with playing a game where you kill people, another henious crime.

Disagree. I am right now doing a knock out experiment on spirit.
Knock out, sloppy, surge and stbfl
I try to slug all before hooking to find out how strong this unhealthy perk is to have a valid opinion on this stupid perk.
Funnily enough, teams are surprisingly good against it. Even without unbreakable.
The game is not unwinnable just because the killer decides to slug one survivor to get sone pressure.
If this isn't about specific examples, then why are they given in the first place.
To be fair, that's very different than OP's scenario as we don't know the perks. Singularity is also a better slugger than Spirit due to map presense.
When I tried, maybe in 2020-2022, I found Third Seal to be a better perk for sowing confusion

Well, she doesn't have an AoE—Her drones fire out two beams that survivors can avoid through LoS blockers, or even just crouching or standing still for a second when it passes over them. Pixel Bush has made a guide talking about how you can aim these beams precisely before they activate, timing it so that they do right as a survivor would go past them, for one example of skill expression. It's an important distinction, because just placing a permanent AoE would be bad—and she doesn't do that. She used to, sure, but she doesn't now. There are plenty of different ways that SM can express skill and strategy with her power, that guide Pixel Bush made is one hour long or longer.
Playing against her isn't unlike playing against killers like Trapper or Hag or even Cenobite, who ask you to be more proactive in disabling the killer's power. I, personally, find it incredibly interesting to go against her. Besides, she is still an M1 killer—even if she uses drones in chase, you have the option of taking an M1 hit to avoid taking lock-on stacks or something, and if she doesn't catch you out in the open when you get a claw trap she has to chase you for that down normally. It's interesting, in my opinion, predicting what overall strategies she wants to employ with her drones and working to counteract them.
If I come off as aggressive, it's only because it's tiring seeing such ignorant takes on SM as if "total, ground up rework" is ever a good idea just because a lot of people don't care to learn the matchup.
Now I suppose it's my turn to be aggressive.
Place drone at loop, Survivor must leave loop and take a hit or die. That's horrific gameplay and that's what 99% of SM's do because it's easy and effective. That's not even mentioning the gens or how toxic seemingly every SM, besides Forum SM's, are.
I don't really care what PB says. He's been a great apologist for years on Twins, and I enjoy his lore videos, but he's flat-out causing more harm with this one, I think.
The only way forward, if the SM club continues to deny she's an issue and decry any attempts to rework her, is to nerf her and let her rot until people's hate dies off. If she mimics Twins patterns, it'll be around 3-4 years before people start to change their opinions.
-

Yeah, sorry, they didn't replace her drones with a magical shotgun or whatever, that means it isn't a rework, my bad.
They changed literally every single thing about how her power works, from how her drones detect survivors, to what her drones do when they detect survivors, to how her drones activate after being placed and how they function when deactivated. Literally everything about her power except the base concept is different.
Which is what needs to change.
Stationary AOE Status Effect machines is still absolutely terrible, both for the Killer and Survivor.
She needs a full rework to make her viable and fun to play as/against. She has virtually zero skill expression against her and little playing as her.
Also, yeah, not sure why you're so aggressive over that.
-
Freddy and Skull Merchant need full reworks.
None of these new "reworks". They need new powers (or in Freddy's case, modified old powers.)

A rework didn't fix it. There's no reason to believe a second would. Besides, she's mechanically fine these days—there could maybe be a little more reward for hacking drones but most of the issues people have with her stem from their lack of knowledge as to what she does, and their refusal to play against her to learn how to counter her power in the first place.
She didn't get reworked, she got changed.
So far as I can recall, nothing new was added.

But the first example was the killer slugging for pressure, I see nothing wrong with that. Some singularities slug the whole game, because it makes the killer more effective.
OP gives up as the first one in the situation, which makes no sense to me.
It doesn't really matter in that scenario though?
If they don't have UB, there's nothing they can do if they're downed. If they DC, then there's a bot, so their team is fine if they somehow recover. If they kill themselves on hook, well, the Killer isn't gonna hook without having all four downed, so the game is over.
Three people downed is, generally, unrecoverable.
-

There's a reason Zombies move that slow and I don't fancy giving him more useless addons because the movement speed addons would get annihilated.
