It's just annoying, not a super big deal.
-
I struggle to feel bad when you've managed to 4K and dominate so easily.
Probably should've picked a game that showed an issue with Distortion, not with Killer.

Yeah but to the degree some people make it out to be…. People like Scott Jund have even done experiments and found out that the amount of tunneling is NOWHERE near the exaggeration people have portrayed.
Scott's experiment was flawed but still showed tunneling likely occurred in most matches.
I may not GET tunneled every match, but I do SEE tunneling almost every match.

Those levels are largely exaggerated or mostly come from people who play at 10PM-2AM.
Unlikely.
Most evidence supports tunneling being present, in some capacity, in every game.
-
It's been pretty horrible for me as well
-
Objectively good, however....
EPILEPSY INDUCER PATCH SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE LIVE
Seriously. It's completely unacceptable that something like that slipped through. That's not even mentioning the broken game, just the health hazard part.
Extremely disappointed.
-
Its possible but most teams will catch on pretty fast.
-
It's annoying, for sure, but so far the only real problem was the RPD Library.

More solo queue kill fodder?
Nah, it's about metrics and appeasement. Adrenaline could have stood to lose the extra Freddy condition, but the rest was silly. It got nerfed for the same reason SC got nerfed.
-
I wouldn't blame people if they quit for the reason BEHIND the Adrenaline nerf, but I doubt most understand it.
-
@Nazzzak said:
I think because every time they've had to turn off the DC penalty in the past, people just constantly DC and go next
Yeah, almost like when you offer players the option to roll for a more enjoyable match, they're gonna take it.
Likewise, duh, people are gonna flock to a new change and abuse it. That's pretty much the whole point of when they push bad updates to Live.

Elaborate on why please.
If forces players get better. May it be annoying rn? Yes, in a month or two players will be good enough to where it won't be a problem, then next time we get a huge influx of players it'll happen again.
It doesn't.
All it does is give players a terrible experience where they get no points and don't get to play the game at all.
It's unbalanced, unpleasant and teaches some bad Killer habits that will usually bite them in the ass later.
-
Yeah, no.
Tunneling is not good for the game on a large scale, especially not at the levels we are seeing now.
-
I didn't notice anything unusual when I played on stream a couple days ago.
It's possible the matchmaker is also bugged, everything else seems to be. Likewise, there's numerous bugs that could be affecting your performance

Maps being shrunk will make tunneling less attractive to players, because tunneling doesn't benefit from maps being easy to pressure
It'll make it more attractive because Survivors have fewer places to run.

@Neaxolotl said:

It's a simple logic, they can't do tunneling and defend gens at same time because there is only one killer
so if they decide to chase other survivors/defend gens they aren't tunneling, and if they decide to camp/proxy camp around hooks just trading hooks will grants free win to survivors thanks to immense pressure-less time they gave
Lack of teamwork will not be an excuse for pure skill issue like this
What.
Am I being trolled right now?
-
Maybe we should just roll this whole update back for a while
-
@Neaxolotl said:
We really should think about the fact it's literally impossible to tunnnel survivor out at 5 gens UNLESS survivors decide to unhook him

So, the only significant change to the killer that solved one of their biggest problems, making it The change that makes them bearable to play now, is a bug that is going to be reverted after years of reworking them. Great, just great.
And according to the Wiki, right now the times are 20 seconds latched + 10 seconds of "regrowth", compared to the 16 seconds total it is now if you recall them (10 until you are able to recall, 6 to regrow).
Crazy idea: Why not just make the regrow take 10 seconds instead of 6 and still allow for recalling him after 10 seconds of being latched, making it from 20 to 30 seconds total? That way, it would reduce the overall time he is on the match (including all the other times you will recall him) while still allowing the killer to decide if it is better to have him back earlier or let him latched 10 seconds more, instead of survivors forcing it to be the later.
Victor needs to have meaningful downtime.
You can't just have a 150% Killer running around constantly killing people.

These are pretty detailled stats !
Honnestly, when I see your 240 games in a month just to get Iri 1, this is pure insanity. I don't know how long a game last on average, but that's a lot of playtime in only a month.
And despite that, there are still some YouTubers thinking that removing depips was treating players like childrens...
I'm really glad they removed the depip mechanic.
If every match is ten minutes, which iirc, was the ideal at one point; then it would be about 40 hours worth of match time.

"personal" huh? it's objectively hurting the game, because this is the online game which is more or less meant to be played with humans
Not to mention the fact every players must press "ready" to join a match, which means "I'm ready for playing out a game to the end"
And people's answer is to double down and make sure those people have a worse time.

BHVR is bad at this? Next best option lol. Sorry man, this sounds horrible. May the Entity fix this mess for you quickly.
A more likely option considering the state of the rest of the game.

Yes, it is.
I've noticed a massive amount of map desync. I've been able to walk through jungle gyms for hits, not to mention edge tiles.

It doesn't put players into similar unwinnable scenarios, that's just a skill issue
Bubba standing at 16m is the same amount of deadly as a Bubba at 0m.

Im gonna assume the xbox player base is too small for them to act. Unless a dev says otherwise, its all we got.

DBD is free on Game Pass and is consistently in the top games played there, keeping up with games like GTA V or R6.

Welp if that's a bug then I won't be playing twins after all. I was thinking about playing them bc I didn't like the whole hold Victor hostage for 30secs. I continue to pretend this killer never existed and play other killers whose power can't be held hostage by survivors. Thanks for letting me know before I waste my time on this sorry excuse of a killer. To the twin mains have fun with your killer whose power can be denied for 30s just bc the survivor can walk around with your boy on thier back.
Do you WANT the Killer to be broken?
Victor CANNOT be out all the time.
-
You gotta ask the question.
If proxy camping puts the player into similar unwinnable scenarios, then when is it getting addressed.

Aren't you playing killers from time to time? One would have to be blind not to spot a bot.
Maybe, maybe not.
I'm perfectly fine with seeing people DC, some people seem to take it too personal
-
So, fun fact, Victor doesn't count for anti-facecamping.
It's like the entire Killer is an oversight.

I was not aware calling totems bones was suddenly looked down upon? If thats now the case, please educate me.
Your perception of "never happening" is, again, false. I listed a perfect example of how it could happen even if totems are ignored for the entire match. If a totem suddenly lights at the end of the match, you don't even need to wait for it to give itself an aura.
I get your attitude that people aren't generally going to do all 5 totems to prevent it from spawning, but even then its unpopular, not impossible.
Don't think we can discuss it here. A certain content creator who popularized the saying was involved in controversy semi-recently.
Theoretically, yes, the totem could spawn right next to a Survivor. It could also spawn right next to someone on hook. I don't think that's a great argument either way, sometimes RNG is just on your side.
I don't think it's even possible to get people to do five totems based purely on a time perspective.
Not taking into account ANYTHING other than cleansing time, that's seventy seconds. Not counting travel time, Killer interrupting, other tasks taking priority etc etc. It is simply not reasonable to expect Survivor to have that much time to spare in today's meta.

Of course I would notice. Bots play like idiots but with wallhacks. They are no fun at all to play against.
Nobody plays this game to play against bots.
People do, actually, play the game to make other people miserable. It's not as uncommon of a playstyle as we'd like.
You wouldn't know you're playing against a bot, nor would the other Survivors. There's always improvements to be made to the bots, but they're miles better than a teammate who doesn't want to be trapped in a game.
-
@drsoontm said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3705996#Comment_3705996
- why?
- bad idea, more difficult to identify people
- and thus you think you play against a brain (well half of one if he DCed) but you play against a cheating bot? No, never.
- completely irrelevant at that point
- 4% (well, about 12) doesn't need to be touched
- never, or a lot of matches would be against bots, killing the interest of the game completely. They do that, they can close shop.
- Dodging, Sniping, Targeting, etc etc
- That's the entire point. You shouldn't be able to ID and target people.
- Why does it matter if someone DC's but you had a good time anyway? Would you even notice? Probably not.
It's pretty clear you're just against it to be against it. None of your points make much sense and only serve to allow people to continue to harass and antagonize others.

This.
I really like the idea of not letting people know someone has been replaced with a bot. When I play survivor I would much rather have a bot on my team than a person who dies on hook or when you go to save them, they will have a temper tantrum and go around throwing every pallet. If someone doesn't want to play a round, they will find a way to end it early while screwing over the other players. You cannot change their mind by saving them before they die.
Bots will continue to do gens, they will heal another player, they will try their best to loop a killer. Give me that over someone who doesn't want to play for whatever reason. Would also solve hacker games (killer just DCs and moves on not having to worry about a timer). I think it's time to really consider removing the DC penalty.I think it will be even better when the novelty factor wears off.
Most players don't remember not being penalized for DC'ing. It's a shiny new toy, but it'll fade in time.
-
It definitely shouldn't wake you up against Freddy.
It probably could've had the health on hook removed; didn't make sense cuz of BT making it two health states anyway, but whatever.
The speed boost being nerfed shows me this is more about making a gesture than actually having issues with how the perk is performing.

You ain't gonna argue with the fact, that most of people are playing in discord, because most of random players are acting stupidly, and in 4 man squad adrenaline is op af, don't you?
Deserved nerf and still viable perk. His main thing wasn't speed, it was insta heal for 4 players which is more than enough to easily escape if gates are opened. Unless you have no hands.
Most people do not play in a 4-man Discord SWF.
That's simply false.

Not if you cleanse 5 totems beforehand.
Yeah, nobody has time to do that.
That's the equivalent of saying, "If you don't like PR and PGTW, just don't get hooked."
Theoretically possible.
-
Agree.
Here's what should happen:
Remove the lobby entirely.
Remove any in-game names. For example, Pulsar would be Steve_Harrington 01 until the End-Game Screen.
Remove any indication of who has been replaced via bot. This promotes witch-hunting players outside of the game.
Show Prestiges in post-game screen, show who was grouped up together.
Remove the ability to self-unhook besides specific perks. Rework Slippery Meat.
Remove DC penalty.

I don’t even know why people assume I am excusing this in the first place. I am maybe more indifferent towards this as I know they also spent time/resources on features that we will never know about and I would rather see more of these make it to PTB without them being released on live.
I still prefer them reverting these ######### changes instead of just releasing them 🤷♂️a
main point was still Engine and Store update being big and not every update needs to be content heavy. Is it confirmed that the engine update is going to live?
I heard it was very buggy, not that something like that has stopped them before
-
Yeah, it was either right before or right after the Wraith Cube. I remember it being a hot topic.
I played against three R1 Claudette's and their "Rank 20" friend. Flashlight saves, t-bags, Lightburn, it was just horrible.
I ended up actually killing the R20, and the others got out. I got spammed with messages about how trash I was, to kill myself and then I got hit offline.
Honestly, not sure why I gave it another chance lol

Big store update and Unreal Engine upgrade to version 5. Reverting the unhealthy twins changes even though it had resources put into because of community feedback.

I just got a funny idea. How about rewarding the oldest members of this forum for their loyalty to the game?
People like @Dwight_Fairfield and @Pulsar really deserve it for their continued support. A small funny charm would be a heartwarming treat.
Can't speak for @Dwight_Fairfield but I'm not worth all that work.
I very much appreciate the thought though, I truly am touched.

That's around when I started playing.
Hmmm, I miss old Lery's.
Also, check out vacuum vaults. Those were fun to deal with.
-
She's good but man she's annoying to play. Her sounds are horrific and her chase music is super grating.
-
No, that's about the real normal.
BHVR throws out any games with DC's, so I imagine 30% is probably right around where the average is.

Haven't played in a couple weeks.
Game isn't going a direction I like, there's not much challenge in my preferred role and this disaster of a PTB has done nothing to assuage my concerns.

And you could have prevented that free value by running a perk. The same thing killers are being told to do when asking to reduce the strength of Background player, because it's making flashlight/pallet saves too easy.
Which is the same thing Survivors are being told to do to counter tunneling.
Which is the same thing Killers are told to do to counter gen rushing.
Which is, which is, which is.
Playing this us vs them who struck first game is just silly.
