The statistics are unrealiable. That much is clear.
A 50% kill rate means most Killer's are de-pipping.
Here, let me put it this way, I have been playing a lot of Bubba at Rank 1. I have a current 4K streak of 12 games, counting DC's. That does not mean Bubba is top tier. That means I am a better player than the Survivor's I am facing, which is a direct result of the matchmaker and easier pip'ing requirements for Survivor. The average Survivor in Red Ranks has a lot less time played, skill and game knowledge than most Killer's at that rank.

Perhaps the developers are planning to add a secondary objective but can't do so with current Ruin in the game. Or maybe the next chapter is going to introduce yet another gen defense perk which would possibly be too strong with current Ruin. Personally I think the devs are up to something.
I am sure they are up to something. Of that, I have no doubt. The Ruin change simply came at a bad time and they need to acknowledge that.
-
I disagree. A three game stint is not a large enough sample size to draw conclusions from.
However, I believe I know the issue. Most, not all, red rank Survivors are very boosted, especially because of the new Rank Reset. I have definitely encountered this problem on Xbox. Additionally, the MM is screwed up right now, meaning I usually have one green rank in my game as a Rank 1 Killer.
That being said, I think if gen times are addressed, the Ruin change will be for the better. Until that happens, the game will be miserable for a lot of average-good Killers. People like Otz and Tru3 may not be affected as much, but the "normal" Killer will be.
-
I quite enjoy the map as Survivor. Decent loop spots and plenty of pallets.
I kinda like it as Killer. Too noisy tho.
I love the design and feel, personally.
-
Probably Myers.
Large man with a knife who is evil incarnate and can take a beating. Not to mention, he moves so sneakily, motion detecting lights cannot pick him up. Plus, he wears a white emotionless mask and never speaks.
-
Gen rushing isn't that you shouldn't be doing your objective, it is that you shouldn't be able to be completed as fast as it is.
Current gen times are pretty fast. It is super likely you will lose at least two gens in the time you need to down the first Survivor. Logistically, that doesn't work. That is 40% of their objective and the Killer has completed less than 10%. It just doesn't work.
-
Legion, Clown or Leatherface.
All of them need major work.
Legion needs a way to get downs reliably and he needs to have a more useful power.
Clown needs map pressure and a little more diversity in his anti-loop.
Leatherface needs....everything.

I will go for each point:
"There is no real counter to his power, since you can be exposed while literally standing in front of him and staring at him."
This is 100% correct and needs to be reviewed. You can look at him the whole time and dont reveal him, or simply look in one direction, dont even see him, and he gets revealed. His Reveal-Mechanic is simply broken and dumb for both sides. What is kinda frustrating as well is that the Reveal Process starts again when he hides for a short amount of time, but the Stalk-Meter does not reset when doing it. But I dont know a fix for that, because it should not be too easy to reveal him (maybe instead of restarting at 0, let the Revealing gradually go down).
"This killer is the ultimate tunneling machine, since he can easily counter BT and down people right off the hook again."
Sadly this is a problem with every Stealth Killer, but I highly doubt that you will get friends here when proposing that BT works with Killer Distance from Hook. This would be totally the correct way, because only because that Ghostface is in Nightshroud, or this Wraith cloaked, or this Pig crouching, does not mean that they are not camping. That Doctor which is using Distressing is also not camping, only because his TR is huge af. But like I said, I doubt that this will make people happy when BT actually works against campers.
"GF should not be able to hide his red stain and his TR. It benefits the killer way too much without requiring any effort any effort."
While it is correct that going into Night Shroud does not require any Skill or Effort, this is how he works. He is stalking people while hiddin (or at least he has the ability to do that), and therefore he needs to hide his TR and Red Stain. This is a basic mechanic and should not be taken away. I mean, this is like saying that Hillbilly should not be able to use his Chainsaw until he is 8 meters close to a Survivor - because it does not take any effort or skill to run around the Map with it.
"The ability to crouch spam should be taken away, since it is abused by almost every GF killer."
Eh. Thats a BS-argument. Same can be said for Survivors, people just need to learn that they should not be offended by teabagging in general. The only thing that would be dumb on a teabagging Ghostface is, when he complains about getting teabagged while doing it himself.
"I can see the devs' original intention when creating this killer, but sadly these things are abused by killer main players."
I would not say "abused". The way of playing him without much stalking and just running around in Night Shroud, spreading damage, is the best way to play him, not gonna lie. And this should change indeed, but not by nerfing him. The Stalking Mechanic needs to have some form of impact, because currently you might stalk people, but when they are at a loop, you might not even get anything from it. Or they see you before and then you just wasted time stalking them. Currently Ghostface is only using half of his power, and this is something that should be changed. If there would be more changes than "Make his stalling meaningful" (like nerfing his Stealth Potential) would be up to the Devs.
And, of course, his reveal mechanic should work. Because it is quite clear that new players cannot understand what is going on and why they cant reveal him, when this is not even understandeable for players like me who have over 3k Hours and who reveal Ghostfaces here and there by just looking in a random direction or not by straight looking at him without ANYTHING (not even the own character model) blocking the line of sight.
Honestly, I sometimes feel like I am the only one who has never had a problem revealing GF.
I've had problems getting revealed through objects and stuff.

I don't think Sloppy works anymore with Legion's Frenzy hits.
You still have to down them, you have to use M1.

My two personal builds are:
Sloppy, M&A, Ruin, PGTW
Add-Ons: Yellow Pin, Yellow Duration
Thana, Ruin, PGTW, I'm All Ears
Add-Ons: Green Pin, Green Duration

Rank 1, Xbox NA.
Haven't seen a mori in awhile. Maybe a month or so.

Xbox NA Rank 1, been there since July 2019.

This is how i feel about the game balance right now. Survivors have been nerfed a good amount of times. Most of which were good changes to help balance the game. But as soon as a killer gets touched for any reason everybody on the forums go crazy. While survivors post about 2-3 threads about nerfs on their behalf and that's it. The doctor rework for example which is clearly a buff is apparently a nerf ??? Same with ruin it was finally buffed from it's old state which killers had wanted for ages. Because with old ruin good survivors could power through it if they hit greats. Which made it horrible in red ranks not to mention it could be cleansed. But with new ruin it rewards killers for doing there job of pushing survivors off of gens. But no it's still a nerf because the devs said it was to make it less frustrating for survivors. Which killers could take out of context and use it to criticise the devs so killers could get even more buffs.
No.

Bans aren't discussed on the Forums. He can submit a ticket, I think.
As for your question, ask him when he got banned. Take that date and add 160 days. That will be when he can play with again.
Hope this helped!
-
Legion is definitely one of the worst, especially on console
I do main him, you will almost always get 360'd by Survivors when in Frenzy.
-
I think they already got that memo, so to speak.

Same as old DS. The people who were upset were the ones using it to troll, instead of actually preventing unhooked tunneling.
I still have a problem with new DS, but it is leagues better than old DS.

Now it is trash.Thats the problem.Maybe it just need 10 seconds cooldown for reduced fall stagger. But if that perk was for killer i am sure community will left the game
I still use it. Most people who hate that it was changed are people who abused it.
It isn't S tier, but it is still very good.
-
It needed to happen. It created too many infinite's.
Plus, it was way better than every other Exhaustion perk.
-
Just RNG
-
I think he needs some love. Definitely a mid-tier Killer. Not good, not bad tho.
His skill floor is too high for the meagre reward it offers.
-
I usually go for the toxic one's but, toxic Claudette's really get on my nerves. Probably subconsciously thinking about my first game.
-
It will be difficult. Losing Ruin has removed my ability to play nicely. I'll still win, but Survivor's probably won't like it.

@ChainsawCharlie said:
It's true actually. I've never seen a game consider "new players" this intensely when it comes to balance. Usually games are like "Yeah you're a noob, you're gonna have to learn and get better." League of Legends actually advertises this way. They state outright in their ads that as a noob you'll get your face stomped in.
Of course new players are gonna struggle with simple concepts. They're new! That's doesn't mean you need to dumb everything down for them and then leave red rank killers out to dry.
Also, the way Ruin is currently before the change, allows me to play a little nicer. Now at Rank 1 I'm gonna have to tunnel or proxy camp a lot more than before and maybe even bring more moris before they nerf those too. Which is something I'm sure they didn't even consider. This new Ruin does absolutely nothing for killers that require set-up time like Trapper and Myers. This Ruin nerf is an indirect nerf to half the killer roster because most killers have bad mobility.
League may be one of the few community's more toxic than DBD.

you have anything to elaberate or just a stupid stantment that brings nothing to the conversation?
Can you be non-confrontational?
The Devs don't just care about new Survivors. That is a naive and foolish statement made from anger and hurt over not being listened to.

Haddonfield, Rotten Fields or Hawkins.

My two main one's are as follows:
BBQ, Ruin, PGTW, Sloppy.
Either one of the Clapper's plus Windstorm.
BBQ, PGTW, Sloppy, Nurse's.

Brutal Strength, Fire Up, Bamboozle, PGTW.

Legion won't be too bad on smaller maps because survivors having to mend will make the gens go down as long as ruin stays up. I kind of hope they make it a non hex tbh.
But yeah clown will suffer the most with the two trapping killers.
My Ghostface I feel will get even better using Ruin with Corrupt and Thrilling Tremors, might even throw Surge in if I use certain map offerings.
I don't think Surge works with Ruin.

I still don't get why you mentioned streamers though?
Well you still potentially can hook everyone three times, just might be a little harder. But to be real most my matches I never hook everyone 3 times because there's always someone hiding all match and when there last survivor they get one hooked.
I do believe that this new Ruin will make some killers/builds stronger while also making other killer/builds alot weaker.
Otz is generally considered to be one of the best in the game.
It will be significantly harder, especially for Killer's like Legion and Clown. The lower the tier of Killer, the more this change effects them.

Okay? Are you telling me you've never killed 3 survivors without using Ruin or being toxic?
Oh, I am sure you can win without Ruin. The problem is that it takes away the Killer's ability to be nice.
I cannot afford to hook everyone 3 times anymore, I have to play meaner. The sooner I kill off one person, the better.
-
It needs some sort of confirmed value. As of now, the effect IS powerful in the EndGame. As everyone else has said, Hex perks rarely make it to the EndGame.
My idea is somewhat simple.
RUIN
Missed skill checks cause 5% more regression.
Skill check zones are reduced X%
Toolbox efficiency decreased X%
Good Skill Checks cause 1% regression.
Ruin becomes more diverse and stops potential gen speed increases, while not punishing newer players as much.
-
Time for my chaos Legion build.
Perks: Knockout, DeerStalker, Bloodhound and Sloppy
Add-Ons: Blindness Button and Stolen Sketch Book.
You hit people with FF, they can't see eachother, they go down after you hit them, no one can see them, everyone panics when they don't get hooked.
-
As Killer: Despite my relative young age, my body is not what it used to be. I have a real problem reacting fast enough to counter Survivors, especially on Xbox. Therefore, I am forced to rely on my prediction skills over my mechanical prowess.
As Survivor: I tend to play a little too safe and I have trouble getting chased. I usually go down fairly quickly, maybe 45 seconds, and I try to avoid chases altogether, because well, Spine Chill :D

Why should gen speed be nerfed if survivors have only 30-35% escape rate in red ranks? You want survivors to stop escaping completely? Where is the logic? Should DBD just become a survivor stomp?
If anything, the gen repair speed must be faster, because right now we are far away from the 2k / 2 escapes that DEVs set a a goal for balance. Right now it's almost 3k - 1 escape on average.
There are more Brown Rank Survivors in Red Ranks than there are actual Red Rank Survivors
-
That isn't really true. Even if you get slugged, DS is doing its job.
Additionally, if you go down immediately and don't try to loop, or if you hop in a locker, the Killer will either be forced to eat the DS or slug you, which as I previously pointed out, means DS did its job.

Git gud and apply more pressure. Killer mains wipe your tears off and play the game. It's a game. U r not real killer.
Just apply pressure is a massive lie. Imagine being able to walk across the map in less than half a gen.
-
Yes, I have.
The Doctor feels pretty awful. He actually got nerfed. His 3 second inability to attack actually destroys any anti-loop.
Ruin is way too weak to be a Hex. It's effect is just too weak. The totem is still destroyed early on, and it offers zero early game pressure anymore, its just not worth taking.
Lery's LOOKS amazing, but I think it will have the same problem as Yamoaka's. It's SO dark, it needs to be brighter, i'm also not a fan of how the two level area remained super safe and unchanged.

Really? Instead of thinking about why there are 80% of Red rank killer using Ruin, just to think about how it affect the new player? Do you ever know how fast can the gen goes in the Red ranks? It just takes around 40 seconds. Do you know killer sometimes cannot even find any survivor while the gen goes? Or have you guys really think to have all the AI instead of having killer in the game?
Really feels bad you need to use a perk to slow the game down so you can get a chance while it can be lost in the very first 40 seconds and yet you still think about just nerfing it.
The nerf of Ruin has prevented me from playing nice, not winning.
I do agree that they missed the WHY. Maybe they are working on something behind the scenes.
-
@Peanits said:
The worst that comes to mind is combining it with Surveillance. Any time a generator is being worked on, I would know. The instant you get off it, I'd know. Normally cleansing Ruin is the only way to counter that, so removing the hex aspect means that the killer always knows where you are and has no counter.
It is a badly designed perk, too weak to be a Hex but too strong for a non-Hex.
-
@HauntedMandalorian said:
I'm completely against the idea that Killers need to have Hex: Ruin to have a good match. I don't understand the complaints; I feel like the only people complaining are literal weak gamers who lack the ability to apply map pressure and play skillfully.
I never, ever run Hex: Ruin. The Hag is still Level 1, and I never bothered unlocking it. They could remove it from the game for all I care. 🤪
Weak donkey players.
Ruin getting nerfed has not removed my ability to win. I will still 2K-4K with Legion. However, it removes my ability to play nicely. I will have to sweat in order to have a chance.
Tuennling and slugging will become much more prevalent, mark my words.

No this was not mentioned to be like that though.
Remember you can still use pop on a regressing generator.
No, you cannot. It has been confirmed. PGTW, Overcharge, Surge, ect. None of these work because you have to kick the gen, which you can't do while Ruin is up.
-
Yeah, I'll be around. Maybe not putting in the same hours, but yeah, I'll stay
