Again, has to go through the hook stages. He can't kill people without having them progress through hook stages.
-
Yes. Console Killers (especially on PS4 and Xbox One) are at a huge disadvantage.
Low FPS, constant freezing, stuttering ect all make the experience worse than PC.
-
Remember, GhostFace needs fixing. For every time he exposes you and you are staring at him, he gets knocked out of his power through walls and around corners.

It counts, mechanically, as a hook stage, but it doesn't count as a hook, not even mechanically. Borrowed Time, DS, Devour Hope, etc, none of that works.
The Entity still gets them if they die in the cage.

No, he can send them to his doom cages.
Oh yeah, I never see PH do that, so I forgot. Still counts as a hook stage tho.

Don't think for a second I won't make you regret even thinking about bringing a key into my trial.
...and bring Unbreakable. Because your ass is spending 4 on the floor after I've hooked every other survivor in the trial.
Excellent.
Make sure to check that there aren't any active Tome challenges involving Keys tho. Other than that, happy slugging!

Go and play candy crush, you're out of your mind! Let everybody play like they want you're not the gamemaster. You're just the killer.
Lmao.
If they want to bring stuff that's OP, fine, it's a part of the game. So is slugging and tunneling :)
-
Kinda, he still has to obey the Entity's rules about hooking Survivors
-
Correct.
Myers is the only person in the Entity's Realm that it cannot control/manipulate.
Michael Myers is evil given form, Evil Incarnate, if you'd like.
-
I'm in the East of the US and my Survivor queue's are 10+ minutes but my Killer queue's are instant.
-
I usually run DH, DS, BT and Windows.
DH and DS are self-explanatory, they are too good not to take if you are trying to win.
Borrowed because getting safe unhooks is vital to getting a pip in Solo Q.
Windows of Opportunity because it shows pallets that have been thrown down/where vaults and new pallets are. Super good for Solo Q
-
I dislike BT because it is overtuned.
The only time I see it used is to facilitate what would otherwise be a stupid play.

And i mean big huge patch which changes half of the stuff, shakes meta and keeps game interesting.
Brutal strength buffed to 40%? Sure. Make distortion infinite? Why not! Change dosens of perks in one patch and then balance them again in hotfix if stuff is too strong. I don't know if devs are too afraid to change stuff or they just don't know what to change.
Or maybe Sony licensing makes it hard to patch game often? Then drop consoles and release patches on PC only and update console like you're updating it now.
5 minor perk changes in 1.5 months is not enough. not even close to be enough to keep game fresh. No chapter or archives can change that.
Hire very good players who can help you to balance the game, or ask fog whisperers or do something to work on game balancing, because current one is a joke
They had better not leave the majority of their players with the short end of the stick.

I would assume currently the problem is there are too few killers/too many survivors playing which screws the matchmaking even more.
at least for me (central Europe) the lobby times for survivor is pretty high while killer has instant lobbies.
NA Xbox One only.
Survivor queue times are anywhere from 10-20 minutes.
Killer queues are rarely over 5 seconds.

If you see a Nurse and they're bad, give them some free hits, odds are they're doing a challenge and REALLY don't want to play her, can we all agree on this?
Man, that sucks. I can't play Nurse, she makes me physically ill (motion sick) to play. Last time I did I dc'd and ran to puke.
Never again.

yeah? The devs acknowledged the problems though.. but now everyone thinks as soon as matchmaking doesn’t work that the bad bad MMR is at fault. Even though matchmaking haven’t worked for over a year..
That's because it got noticeably worse right before the BloodRush.
I was getting a Yellow or White Rank every, maybe 7 games while I was at Rank 1. That's fine, I can say that's just a SWF.
I have been getting them WAY more frequently now, may every 3 games or so. I have a more difficult time explaining that.

It worked fine for me as well.
the biggest problem was for completely new players that got matched against well experienced ones though. Which already happens now.... and it was clearly stated that the MMR had to be calculated in at least 10 matches before it can actually work.
I had played well over 100 matches during MMR's first life cycle and it did not get any better.

I like your solution however I don't think people would ever run it. I like it probably cos I'm a firm believer that it's unhealthy for the game also. It's not a perk designed for good players. The inherit problem of 'just do bones' is that the perk isn't good high level. People actually do the bones. SWF do the bones. Therefore, you see noed one in 10 games and it's whatever does not help the killer much.
At low/mid ranks is where it shines. And shine bright it does like a puckered butthole in the sky shining a bright beam into your eyes. You can't expect the new player to do bones and make it to endgame. It's purely up to chance if they find the hex in time or not for their teammate to die. That is why it's very mundane to deal with because a totem spawn that the killer has no control over has determined the end game for everybody. Then theres the games the survivors do well and all collapse at the end due to faster killer with instadown cos we made it to endgame. Endgame should be intense but this is not the way to do it and I'm sure they will retain more players after the next chapter releases if it got a rework that better reflects the intergrity of the game.
The best idea I've seen so far is to make a token system reflective of dull totems + hex totems remaining on the map. perhaps make them all hex's. Each totem equals a token which is consumed upon each down they get. This appeases the people who don't want the change because it will stop people cleansing dulls as well as remaining a strong end game last stand from the killer. The whole premise of it being infinite is what makes people leave people to die when there should be so much more game left to game. This idea makes it possible to juggle the hook if you have enough hooks left (ie survivor has done well) and allows the killer to close out a game if people are on their last hook (killer has performed well). People who dispute that and continue to say 'just do bones' either use it themselves or haven't read my argument about its effect on low rank trials.
tl;dr You cannot rely on low rank players to do bones which is where the perk has it's higher pickrate. Saying just do bones is as ignorant as saying OoO statistically is balanced because of escape rate across all matches.
It is different than OoO.
What you are saying is that essentially, experienced players know how to play around it and completely deny the Killer from using it but newer players do not. That isn't a problem. Newer players also can't loop as well as experienced one's, should we give them a handicap? No, of course not, because they will learn as they play and they will improve.
OoO is a fine perk when taken with the Solo Q perspective, but is gets nutty when you bring SWF into the mix. It offers an extremely powerful effect for Survivors with zero downsides.

I like them but i think the devour one is a little too weak.
Gotta remember that that can be stacked with PWYF and NOED. A maximum 23% speed increase is pretty OP.
-
If they don't want to cleanse totems, that's fine, but I'm not coming to save them if they get hit by NOED nor will I back them up when they complain about it.

Well don't be an usher. Never give up. Keep fighting till the bitter end no matter how few hooks you get. You don't want to get those games over quicker. Remember, those are the crucible by which you will make yourself into a better Killer. Games you lose are often more useful, from a training perspective, than the ones you win. In short, keep trying even if you manage nothing more than running them out the gate.
Agreed. Eventually, you'll get a good strategy going and get on a roll.
I haven't gotten anything less than a 3K in 2 months (minus Keys) so it is possible to learn how to outsmart those players.

Ah ok, thanks for explaining, I've been playing since October so I guess that preceded me.
No worries!
-
NOED: 1% speed boost per gen done.
Haunted Grounds: Every totem broken gives +10 seconds of Exposed when the final gen pop.
Devour Hope: 5 unhooks when you are 28m away gives you a permanent 3% speed boost.
-
@JPA said:
What makes you think MMR is on if you feel you are being matched with players with very different skills? Surely that means MMR is not on, unless you mean you think it's on but is just totally broken?
Last time MMR was on, the matchmaking was completely broken.
Players with 20 hours going against 3000+ hour players. It was bad.

Most of they're trying to mind game a pallet like that are going to try a few times which would result in losing around 20 seconds which can make a big difference if the other survivors are efficient on gens.
I just fake vault the window and if they slide over the pallet I can get them.

I mean it's certainly good for finding out if you are but I'd just be worried that if you are going against some real gamers by the time you realise they're not you've lost a couple of gens finding out.
How can I lose 2 gens on a 5 second mindgame lmao
-
@Kirkylad said:
I had a killer try and mind game the god pallet when it was down for ages and it was honestly just hilarious. Sorry man but even bloodlust 3 isn't going to get you a hit. You have to know when to just break the pallet.
Nah, I just do it for fun.
If they fall for it, then I know I'm dealing with some truly ascended gamers, so I don't need to sweat.
-
Ya know, I sometimes do this just to see if I can mindgame shack pallet after it's thrown down.
If the Survivors fall for it, I don't need to try. It's like an intelligence check.

What maps do you think hatches are the most hidden on?
I've had the worst experiences on Swamp maps.
One time I was the last survivor and a Trapper picked me up and began looking for the hatch. After 5-10 minutes he decided to let me go so we could split up and both look.
After another 10 minutes it was too much, he found me and hooked me, game over.
We looked EVERYWHERE more than once, it was totally insane.
I've had hatch spawn outside of the map on swamp maps. Perhaps that's what happened

They give an option to hide chat on PC. If it were on console, they'd likely do the same. If you don't want to see the chat, you don't have to. But on the other hand those who want to chat get the ability to.
And again, you are giving people a platform to be toxic to each other and evade punishment. A lot of Console players don't even have Crossplay on.

Wouldn't disagree with switch being perhaps the lowest platform, but I want to see Console to PC player count. See if that is why they sometimes turn a blind eye to console.
Console definitely outnumbers PC by a significant margin.
DBD is consistently on Microsoft's most played games list, up there with CoD's, NBA and Fortnite.

If you don't like interacting with others in chat, you can simply hide it. Slightly off the theme of this post but I'd hate to see end game chat removed on PC because people are complaining about it too much. Simply hide it if you don't like it. For all the toxicity there is, there's still some wholesome chats that I'd really miss.
There is no way to do this on Console.
By giving Console EndGame chat, you allow people in that chat to get away with pretty much anything they want.

If people had the post game chat lobby to air their thoughts you would get less hate mail
That's not true and it doesn't make it okay for people to call me slurs and not be punished.
-
Do not.
I already get hate mail on Xbox and I do not want to have an endgame chat where people can call me awful things and go completely unpunished

No you can't, If that's the case then Show us what you mean.
I will.
Your main points were that NOED gives undeserved Objective score (kills), it rewards bad play, it is unfair against Solo's and that it makes the game boring and forces a certain style of play.
Let's start with an easy one. Decisive Strike.
Decisive gives allows you to escape the Killer's grasp, even if you aren't being tunneled. This rewards points in the Survival category and this allows the Survivors to continue to earn points in their Objective category, whereas if they did not have the perk, they'd be dead.
Decisive also rewards bad play. The majority of Survivors use it as a way to correct a mistake. Make a wrong read? No worries, I have Decisive. Get farmed? Doesn't matter, I've got DS!
Killer is also Solo and there isn't really an equivalence here.
DS forces Killers to respect it when they do not know who has it and by respecting it, they often leave people slugged. That's boring AND forcing the same style of play.
I could also make a similar list for Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Adrenaline ect ect.
-
You can apply the same logic to 90% of meta Survivor perks.
-
I never see people play Elodie.
90% of people think she sounds annoying and her scream is way too loud.

Same on my Xbox1, with Lery's dipping into the teens depending on what's going on.
Console life.
I despise Lery's for that reason alone.
Good luck using Feral Frenzy (which drops FPS) on a map that already only gets 15.

I do like seeing threads about scenario's in game, and then the people involve comment.
I had a few back in the day. One was about a Billy bodyblocking someone in a corner and chainsawing them. I read that, looked at the name, realized it was the same name as someone who I did that to earlier and went:
