Bit of a disclaimer here: In this post I am NOT trying to argue that any of the mentioned perks are too strong or need to be nerfed. I’m simply discussing why, in my view, their designs may be problematic.
Dead hard is a perk that's designed to reward risky plays, allowing you to dodge a hit by the press of a button/key. However I’d argue that this is a flawed design that can only lead to frustration and annoyance.
Dead hard has counterplay but only sometimes. If used for distance or if used against a Blight or Nurse in power then there's not a whole lot they can do. Blight can bait dead hard by bumping again close to them and then using another rush to get the hit. As you can imagine however, there are many situations where this isn't possible. In said situations, you are powerless. Even if you made a nice play, it's negated by the push of a button. It's become a crutch for many. They know they can make dumb plays because they have dead hard. In some scenarios you simply cannot bait it without them making it to a tile. If they’re in a dead zone then it’s trivially easy to bait but if they’re in a dead zone then they’re already going down regardless of if they have dead hard or not.
I’ll get to the point, Dead hard is problematic in my opinion particularly because of the fact that it requires zero effort to get. If you get hit, then you have dead hard. As well as this, it punishes something that must be done to progress the game at all as the Killer. Most other second chance perks exist to counter certain behaviours e.g. Borrowed time to allow a camped person to take a hit without going down, Decisive strike allowing a player to punish tunnelling (The effectiveness of it against genuine tunnellers is debatable but thats beside the point). However, Dead hard simply punishes the killer for doing something that they literally have to do to progress the game, that of course being, hitting survivors. Dead hard punishes the killer for something they are supposed to do. Am I the only one who thinks thats kind of odd? In this sense it’s somewhat similar to Noed. It punishes the other side for simply doing the thing that they MUST do to continue the game. There’s many other perks with similar design philosophies of punishing the other side for fulfilling basic tasks but Dead hard is undoubtedly the most commonly seen among them. Except perhaps Noed. Nonetheless, I hope I’ve done a good enough job of explaining my thoughts. You can insult me in the comments if you think my post is dumb but all I ask is to please be respectful to each other if a debate breaks out. Have a nice day, everyone!
dead hard is a counterplay against killer camping the exit gate. Why are killer mains always bitching about survivors perks?

I don't think 2 gens take 30 seconds to be done.
And if they did, your team made some serious mistakes. Not being attentive enough to notice Michael stalking them and pumping gens instead of hiding/running.
These add-ons do get annoying, but they do have counter-play. Too bad you can't always rely on your team to perform the right counter-play, for sure...
let it be a minute. I spawned next to gen with a teammate, we started the gen at 50% i saw Meyer stalk us and walked away my teammate finished the gen. at this time i was at a other gen not far away with a other teammate we finished this one in the meantime Meyer gets over an killed me. Whats the point of this kind of trail? My feedback is this is the perfect example for a overpowered Killer!

I have the same problem stuck at 2/3 and jumped the last 4 games from something hight in a chase

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/234243/what-makes-kill-rates-so-high
Kill rates are high for a much more simple reason that nobody really talks about much. There is a bias built into reading these Stats flat. Like a lot of video games, there tends to be a lot more Newbie Players than seasoned ones. New people come and try it out, play for a while, and then move on. While in the so-called Potato Ranks, things are definitely Killer-sided, because the main strength of Survivors is teamwork. Thus, as Players become more seasoned, the balance of power shifts away from the Killer (like a see-saw) to the Survivors.
So, if more people come, dabble and move on before truly becoming seasoned, it creates a situation where Kill rates are higher, but that doesn't mean the game is poorly balanced. It just means the statistics are flawed from the get-go when you look at flat Kills because it isn't taking into account the tides of Players flowing in and out. The DEV do understand this, however, and don't think it is their job to try and explain it to the rabble (and I don't mean that in a negative way). Most people don't understand statistics and read numbers entirely out of context, or only in the context that appears to support the argument they constructed.
Kill rates are fine. If the data was published broken down in a way that delineated Players by "hours in the game" you would see a very different story, graphs that could tell a much more accurate tale indeed. The problem of balance, in this game, is the sheer volume of variables. We all want perfect balance, but that is a utopian ideal, and not possible. What they have achieved is remarkable all things considered. Things could be done better, but it would require a fundamental change in how people are matched up, one that is at odds with their desire to keep Ques as quick as possible. Better matching, by default, means slower Ques. We can clearly see (and feel) which priority they have chosen.
So, then explain why the kill rates at red ranks are so high too

So I played 2 matches as survivor today solo because I dont have friends that are interested in the game anymore.
1st one I did great, unhooked quite a bit, took hits, did 3 gens. I was left to die before first hook, luckily she slugged me and hatch spawned on me.
2nd game same thing I did 3 gens 1 with someone 2 alone, cleansed her ruin and another hex didnt bother to check which, I saved all 3 of em at least 4 rescues, did a few 360's that worked got hit, went for window vault and she hits me trough window across the ######### field, 20ping so it was definetely her lag...on my first hook they just dip....
I figure I shouldnt leave them so I go for saves but every ######### time I play ######### like that happens and I'm left behind, every ######### time....
There is literaly 0 point in playing this game as a survivor, if no one else can play as a team, I can literaly count on one hand how many good teamates I had...
Send me a friend request i will always rescue you. Curveball#9318 is my ingame name

As is his right to do so. Just as it's your right to bring a key. You don't get to tell other people how to play.
Exactly this is my point don't Threatened other people for there play style

Don't think for a second I won't make you regret even thinking about bringing a key into my trial.
...and bring Unbreakable. Because your ass is spending 4 on the floor after I've hooked every other survivor in the trial.
Go and play candy crush, you're out of your mind! Let everybody play like they want you're not the gamemaster. You're just the killer.

(Number 1 is getting left to die on hook, Number 2 is getting a friend request)
I unhook you from a face camper and take the hit with borrowed time ,-)

The issue I have with that is that I am not in a SWF. Why would a SWF get more points for doing gens while me, the solo player, is hanging on the hook for like 2 mins?
it's a team game as swf so when your team lives because you died you should get something for that
-
@DJWAYN3 said:
yeah I do, do you play on ps4?
Stadia

The game is around for 4 year and the dev have no solution against it? that's ridiculous! there are several here in the thread. give the swf bps for every gen that's finished while he is hanging and for everyone who escaped afterwards, don't switch the state while the killer ist around 5 meters, etc
-
do you have crossplay activated?
-
I am a stadia player and regularly die because of bad connections. So please no penalties because of a bad mechanic.
