  • Depends.

Autohaven is a solid 25-30 FPS on good days, but Ormond is 20 FPS on a good day.

I'm on the Xbox One X.

  • This is extremely well said. I really must commend you, you've remained respectful and unbiased whilst still getting your point across.

As a long-time player, I agree with 100% of what you've said here. I understand that sometimes there isn't anything meaningful to share and that a lot of times, the Community is...opinionated and not always nice. But the colorblind fiasco could have been avoided with proper communication.

He's partially right.. The bloodweb will always go for the highest tier perk first. Had he bought them in reverse order; this wouldn't have happened.

He could have said it like that.

And it doesn't ALWAYS work that way. I've definitely had it take lower tier stuff (BBQ) when there was still a Purple perk on the Web.

  • @Zeta_JK44 said:

Simply, you didn't learn how to do bloodwebs yet. And your devotion level is 4, so this is pretty hilariously sad to see

    He grabbed a single perk.

The only moderately useable perks were Coup de Grace and Oppression.

Why can't you be helpful without insulting people. It's pretty hilariously sad to see.

So than change that. Make it so you can mend before snapping out and change the timer to a maximum of 10 seconds. Really regret buying The Legion because I rarely even use The Legions ability anymore when I play as them because it’s pretty useless unless I am playing against rank 20-18 survivors.

Why have you necro'd this thread from 2019?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    it's nice they actually said.

They said they didn't originally plan to because they don't have a solid release date and tbh it really shows the transparency problem.

There is nothing wrong with saying "We are working on it, but we do not know when it will be completed at this time" boom. Done. Instantly problem solved.

Not, dead silence for several years, and then an unofficial comment like "....If it gets done it'll get done when we'll, when we have time to do it, or if somebody decides that it's something should- that should be done..." and then literally banning/locking any mention of their handling of it.

That is an example of how not to handle it.

So idk, I just hope they learned something from this that would be enough. That's all I want, behaviour to start communicating.

I think the last time they did this was with Console Optimization back in March of 2019.

It's been pretty much MIA ever since.

  • @Mandy said:

This is still a work in progress, we're showing what is currently being worked on...it will be available when it's ready, no set date as of yet.

I legitimately do not think it matters when it comes out. The mere fact that it's being worked on is such good news to so many people. One of my buddies is colorblind and this has meant the world to him.

If you could, tell the team he and I said thank you :)

I don't like hatch offerings, because IMO they're just plain boring. I also don't get the purpose of Sawblade, can you explain the purpose for it?

Hatch offering prevents Key escapes when there is more than 1 Survivor and it makes it so that neither the Killer nor Survivor knows where it will spawn, save for an offering being used.

The purpose of the Sawblade is to allow Survivors another way to manage their resources. They may deconstruct one pallet to reconstruct a breakable wall, say the one on 2nd floor of Ironworks.

They sacrifice a pallet, but they gain the ability to reconstruct a good loop.

  • An Ultra-Rare offering that prevents Hatch from spawning until there is only one Survivor left.

Sawblade~ Allows Survivors to sacrifice a pallet to put up a breakable wall in a doorway. There would be a short channel of breaking down the pallet and building the wall.

Yeah.....that's Mikey. He endures the most brutal damage that would kill any normal person. This is picking up from a movie where he got stabbed in the neck with a big knitting needle, then had his left eye stabbed with a wire hangar, then stabbed in the chest with his own knife, and then shot six times at close range and fell out a second floor window. He just gets up and goes on his way again.

Mikey is a tank in any version you watch. His physical size has never been a factor in that.

That is true, I was merely remarking that in the original movies, he wasn't nearly as large as he is in DBD. He was an average built dude with unnatural strength. In DBD, he physically resembles Rob Zombie's Myers a lot more.

Regardless, none of the Survivors can beat him.

I'd only put three in the unbeatable tier. Myers, Oni since he's pretty much the same build as Myers and Demogorgon, since it takes on 20-ish soldiers with automatic weapons.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1888829#Comment_1888829

    So did Halloween II's Michael long before Rob Zombie's ever did, and he was a shorter boy;

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaSr6mpkTII

This is true, but it's also from Halloween 2 where he gets shot in the eyes with what looks like a Magnum.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

1978 Mikey was a strong boy. Lifting guys clear up off the floor with one hand and holding them there. Putting his fist through doors etc.

This is true, but Rob Zombie's Myers is 6'8 and barely fits through doors. He also lifts a nurse using a scalpel.

In short, he's a big boi.

Honestly I think they are all probably mediocre in combat

Everyone else in The Legion can hold their own better than Frank, he's such a ######### boy.

Nurse would be absolutely pathetic in a fight and no one can tell me otherwise.

Ghostface is also a ######### boy.

Freddy is absolutely pathetic and no one can change my mind.

If I were being a bit more brutal I'd put Daddy Evan down a tier with Myers, Rin and Anna.

Kazan is certainly the strongest besides PH

PH is big scary punishment daddy, that's all I need to say on that matter.

Depends. Myers might be the strongest since he physically takes after the Rob Zombie version, but retains the '78 design.

  • Once every three or so games, I'd say.

That map is so so for me. I think it's ugly with some poor gen placements but that's about it. The one redeeming factor of this map is the sky. It's beautiful to look at.

    The gameplay is so awful.

As Killer, it feels like I'm always breaking wall and pallets and I am constantly getting stuck on objects.

As Survivor, it feels like there are no pallets and gens are super close together.

The sky is pretty, I will give it that.

  • I DESPISE Dead Dawg. I hate that map with a burning passion.

Yeah, infinite Legion mend timer was simply just annoying.

Looking away while chasing a Survivor depleting their mend timer, again just annoying.

Didn't break the game at all whatsoever.

    Forehead.

    Don't insult people.

Legion HAS been nerfed for some pretty questionable reasons, but I'm not sure annoyance was one of them.

From what I'm being bombarded with, your solution won't solve the preceived issue. It still allows a survivor to dedicate themselves to hook saves. Worse being they would have an unlimited time to do so.

Not active during EGC? Showing some favoritism aren't you?

No, deactivating Decisive during the EGC is not playing favorites.

A perk that can be used like DS can shouldn't be allowed to put Killers in a lose-lose situation. It is EXTREMELY likely that the Killer will eat a DS during an EGC scramble.

Also, my bad, I forgot to say that it resets when someone else gets hooked, since you aren't getting tunneled, clearly.

  • @Mr_K said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1886926#Comment_1886926

    1. DS doesn't target new players. If you constantly touch a hot stove thats on you.
    2. A lot of perks on both sides give passive pressure. Ruin wasn't one of them. Ruin gave active pressure. Passive pressure is when you behave in a way to avoid a potential. ie, You don't know if they have DS so you slug. You don't know if they have BBQ so you hide behind a gen or in a locker.
    3. Stop tunneling is a community derived reason. The reason it was changed was because it was profoundly unfair perk.

Ruin was changed because bhvr was worried about new survivors dropping the game. What they didn't do, was fixed the reason why killers felt the need to always run it.

    1. Its punishment of new players or those who can't hit Great Skill Checks. Newer players trying to help veterans with generator repairs tend to make the situation worse rather than better.
    2. The passive nature of the gameplay pressure it provides means that there is a huge amount of potential with very little effort or risk on behalf of The Killer.
    3. Its inconsistency due to the random nature of the appearance interval of skill checks.

That is ripped straight from the Dev post.

Decisive Strike punishes players who don't know about it and it can easily be abused., making it into an offensive perk.

My second point stands, BHVR said they nerfed Ruin because of its passive pressure.

Decisive Strike is supposed to be an anti-tunnel perk. All it succeeds in doing is giving the Survivor a little more time, while doing little to stop real tunneling.

    My proposed changes:

Decisive Strike no longer has a timer. Decisive will be lost when working on a gen, getting healed, hopping in a locker or during the EGC. Additionally, Decisive can be used more than once.

I just had a claudette who found a key on console (I didn't know) I just went and made a drink waiting for them to take hatch- they never did they just hid and waited for like 15 minutes.

I finally went and closed the hatch figured they would open the gates. Nope.

They waited till like 3 seconds were left of EGC when I came back to the hatch to key in my face; they just wanted to punish me for not slugging for the 4k I guess? idk.

Like, I am playing trapper with THIS build and played clean:

I never liked the idea that ruin was needed from a balancing perspective. Personally I didn't use it but didn't fault others for doing so. I do not find the current ruin to be all that powerful and a waste of a perk slot.

Current Decisive Strike fits all the reasons the Devs gave for nerfing Old Ruin.

    1.) Overly punishes bad/new players.

2.) It's mere existence provides passive pressure on the Killer.

3.) It doesn't actually stop tunneling like its supposed to.

  • @Mr_K said:

They are not invincible when going for that hook save. You can down them at the feet of the hooked survivor. At that point, how can you say two survivors incapacitated is detrimental to you? Is camping not an option in this case? So what if they pop back up? Smack them back down again. By then DS timer will be expired.

Doing gens in the killers face. You know you can still hit them? Aim away and lunge back. You can avoid a grab this way.

Quick question, should Old Ruin have been nerfed?

I made a list of completelly worthless add-ons, which some of them literally do nothing.

    The Legion

    Frank's Mix Tape

This add-on does nothing if you play to win, or just play normally, taking 7.5 seconds (5 seconds in PTB) from a Deep Wound timer that lasts 30 seconds (20 seconds in PTB) is already pretty bad, but on top of that you get stunned and then you need to wait 20 seconds after that.

    Stab Wounds Study

5 seconds (3 seconds in PTB) from a 30 second (20 seconds in PTB) timer is really laughable, it doesn't really help that the timer stops when running or mending, literally does nothing...

    The Blight

    Summoning Stone

Let's do some math, this add-on blocks pallets for 6 seconds, when hitting a Survivor with Lethal Rush you suffer a 3 second Fatigue, picking up a Survivor takes 3 seconds, that's 6 seconds and this add-on already expired, literally does nothing...

    The Cannibal

Long Guide Bar | The Grease

Both of these add-ons are worthless, they do something, but that something isn't really worth at all, maybe for facecamping???? I have no idea why do they exist, I would even argue that the previous movement speed add-ons while in the Tantrum were better...

The Ghost Face | The Shape

Headlines Cut-outs, Olsen's Journal, Olsen's Wallet | Tacky Earrings, Jewellery, Jewellery Box

For both Ghost Face and Michael these add-ons basically don't do anything, there should be only one of these add-ons for both of them and the other 2 should be reworked into something else.

What do you think about these add-ons? Did I forget any? Let me know!

Legion's Killer Instinct add-ons are also useless, I've never seen ANYONE use them.

I don't have any of these issues on PS4 my frames are great. Maybe your internet isn't that great or it's being used on different devices when your playing causing it not to run optimally. Maybe the players are just more experienced causing them to be able to spin you, I don't get spun very often but when I do I just understand that they likely have more hours and experience than me after all there's always players out there better than how I or anyone else plays.

I'm on the One X (which is superior to the Pro) and I still have awful frames.

Because of low FPS and stuttering/freezing, when Survivors spin, they can effectively disappear since you are being presented with less information per second.

  • What Killer did you play against?

I unironically despise Elodie's voice. No offense to the actress, but it hurts my ears and its just grating.

I think MoM just needs the negative aura reading taken away, no reason to have it.

There's are really simple fix for asymmetric queue times: offer a small incentive to swap to the side in need of more players.

This could be bloodpoints, but I honestly doubt even something like 10k per game would tempt players that much. I'd try 20-30 Shards per game to all players who queue on the side in need of more people. (Obviously, this bonus would only be available as long as one side's queue times were beyond some threshold and in desperate need of balance.)

I'd take Shards in exchange for that, but not BP.

I can get plenty of BP but Shards are always in demand for me.

If you were camping you could make a better argument for it. What you just said is they didnt move until you started to chase them, because you were camping the basement because every bubba camps the basement, and then killed themselves because they knew they were going to the basement. Lets say for a fact that monstrous shrine somehow fooled them and they would have made the save if it wasn't for that 4%......what the ######### would it matter you're bubba and theyre in the basement?

FYI it doesn't matter if you were camping, they assumed you were because you're bubba and you're using the basement. They weren't going because they assumed you were so they were trying to gen rush. Again, none of this has anything to do with monstrous shrine

Why are you so hostile? I can see what got you jailed.

I wasn't camping basement at all and for you to assume I was says a lot about you.

It was for an Archive challenge a while back, something about sacrifice 4 Survivors in the basement, I think.

If you want to say you don't think Monstrous Shrine affected anything that's fine, but you aren't. You are here trying to prove me wrong when all I did was share a fun little story.

It is sad that you can't allow that.

Ok......so they didn't misjudge anything they just didn't want to kill themselves because you are leatherface, camping the basement. Unless you were across the map they weren't going in unless it was to just give up, which is probably why they went down there at all

    I wasn't camping, as I said.

Iirc, it was on Thompson House and the basement was in the house. Those two had completed the gen upstairs but got downed and taken to basement. I went to patrol gens and found the other two at the last gen, when they started sprinting towards basement. The one got to the stairs but the others died on hook.

I was waiting for someone to try and tell a story about how monstrous Shrine did anything. I am 100% positive that Monstrous shrine had no effect on that situation it was the fact you were camping the basement. How would a 4 man swf misjudge the amount of time they had? Were they not on comms? You can still see the bar. I mean i suppose if they were just going off of pure memory......monstrous shrine still did not do ######### lol

They had one gen left and the two on hook had Adrenaline, so I assume they were banking on that.

I had chased them off the gen when they started heading for basement.

To be honest, I wasn't sure how they misjudged it so badly myself. All I know is that, had Monstrous Shrine not been on my build, they would've gotten to the basement in time.

As added context, I was playing a poor man's basement Bubba with Monstrous, Agitation, Mad Grit and Iron Grasp.

Ok, you guys know I love your game right? I love the Moderators; they are champs. I hate that I have to say this, but please just come clean and admit the MMR is back on. I think it has been on for almost two weeks, a week at least. Why do I say this? Most of my matches, if they are not a SWF that all joined together, are all the colors of the rainbow. It is Rank diversity run wild. At least tell them what I already know, so they can mentally prepare for the wild west of Dead by Daylight.

Case in point, I just played a Spooky Myers on the Pale Rose (Swamp Map). When I go into a large map with Spooky, I have to go full tilt, 110% because anything less means I'll be looped round the moon and back by any Survivor who has cut his/her teeth. The match was over in like three minutes. I was moving so fast, I had three dying in the basement and was hunting down the fourth before I realized that I wasn't going to earn any Pips. I was like, "Oh my God... these are REAL Potatoes. Why in the hell are they in a match with me?"

It suffices to say that I felt bad. If any of you (you were all Console) just got out of that match with me, please accept my heartfelt sympathies. This isn't working. This is JUST LIKE LAST time you turned the damn thing on. I'm all for better matchmaking. If MMR worked, I'd be thrilled. I want to be fighting opponents in my weight class. Now I have no way of knowing other than trying to judge it on the fly. If I hold back to "see" what kind of opponents I have, I handicap myself badly against good Survivors. If I go full tilt and they aren't, I massacre them. This is not a sustainable situation.

I'm going to submit the same suggestion I do whenever this comes up. You will never be able to get perfect matchmaking. There are too many variables. The best you can do is try to match people with ballpark hours in the game. Not everyone gets good at the same rate, but at least they can't say they didn't have the same opportunity to get good. Do you see my point? I feel dirty, and I need a shower. I'm not looking to to make mashed potatoes. Let those spuds grow into proper Survivors. Or at least give us some way to know. Can you give me something in the HUD that gives me an idea, so I know who to cut loose on and who to give a little leeway?

I have noticed this as well. Me and my buddy were playing SWF, we are both Rank 1's. Our two teammates were Rank 20 and the Killer was a 13.

There is ZERO way that should happen unless the matchmaker is off or unless MMR is on

  • The 4-man I played against misjudged the amount of time their teammates had left on basement hook and it got them killed.

There was 1 gen left...so Monstrous Shrine did win me a game.

When Freddy gets re(e)-worked again, they have an opportunity to get rid of some of the most boring add-ons in the game.

Personally, I'd love to see him get some unique add-ons that function similarly to Fire-Up, providing minimal buffs at the start of the match, but ramping up as the match increases (conditions like when gens are done, pallets broken, survivors healed, survivors killed, survivors rescued, chases won/lost, etc). The add-ons could provide additional stun resistance, flashlight resistance, break/vault/hook/pick up speeds, attack cool down speeds, power recharge speed, etc.

Doing so would allow him to further synergize with his late-game perks and seems like a missed opportunity that's never been mentioned before.

    68% is closer to 75.

If they were getting 2 kills on average the percentage would be closer to 50.

Why does it matter what circumstances caused the survivor to die???

In black and white it pretty much means that survivors on average will go into matches to die and killers will most of the time walk away with a 3k.

Correct. That means that the Killer CAN get a 3K. It isn't super uncommon, but it isn't happening a lot either. The average is still two, since you can't kill half a Survivor.

Because a Mori off of first hook is a lot different then a kill during the EGC when that Survivor has been hooked twice already.

Of course but spirit and freddy can still lose. A perfect nurse? Yea not so much. Also it depends on perks. Ruin undying meta? Or the perks they come with?

I am talking meta on meta on a neutral map.

  • Spirit and Freddy are also up there.

Wow thanks so much for sharing this.

Looking at the stats i think this supports my view...at red rank 68% of killers get 2-3 kills.

That means one survivor got away using the hatch so pretty much a loss for a survivors in my opinion.

If you think that supports your view, allow me to correct you.

How many Survivors are in a match? 4, right? 75% of 4 is 3. 68% means that the Killer is getting two people on average. Meaning Survivors finished all the gens and escaped through the Gates.

Also, like I've REPEATEDLY said, these stats mean NOTHING without context. A 4K with a Mori in play is different than a 4K with 12 hooks and 4 gens done.

The game is pretty close to being balanced. There are still some horribly Survivor-sided maps, but were mostly okay. There are still some problem perks *cough DS* but we are mostly good on that front too. Some Killer's, mainly Huntress, have some add-ons that need changed and there are still god loops that need removed.

That being said, if you took the best Survivors who made no mistakes and the best Killer who made no mistakes, most Killers on the roster would lose.
