Badham's equivalent at least has a breakable wall if I'm not mistaken. I'll often just bust that out if I'm passing.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2640413#Comment_2640413
Sure.
But what do you do against a group of survivors that just high-tail it there every time you chase them? This was the big problem I had tonight.
Someone's gotta drop the pallet eventually. Do not respect it at all and force a drop. The building is still really good without it, but not as bad.
-
That is why it is referred to as the "House of Pain."
Do not chase there.

I mean... i’m glad they’re trying to handle it now. What about you?
Yeah, I'm glad they said SOMETHING.

I think the easiest thing to do would be to let the Bleed Out bar progress when on the Killer's shoulder.

I did. What do you think?

Yurp.
DbD was the game that finally made me make my Steam profile private, and reluctant to play against TTV lobbies.
It's a shame. I've met some real great people on DBD.
But most of what I get now is hatemail and it starts to weigh on you after a while, ya know?
I still get knocked offline every few days but overall my experience has been much more enjoyable

Same.
I've turned off messages from non-friends and I just recently had to make my profile private because some real gamers were messaging others on my friends list since they couldn't rage af me.

The DC penalty should be removed and the cheaters will go away. The cheater knows you are stuck in a match and is being held hostage.
I was in a match one day and a Steve had infinite fireworks. The killer and survivors basically played the match blinded the entire match and was forced to take a DC penalty. That's not fair.
This...is unprecedented.
Sluzzy has a good take.
I don't think all the cheaters will go away, but at the very least, the victims won't be forced to eat an undeserved penalty

Yeah killers want Boons nerfed.
If they nerf them, i'll get back on DS, or Iron Will.
Good luck.
How do you feel about nerfing all meta perks and then looking at base-game balance?

I'd be interested to know how much that actually affected the player count.
Whilst on the forums it seems like everyone is furious, I think that the forum users are only representative of a small part of the community. Most people probably don't know what an IP address is, or don't care (and tbh, the actual risks of this issue I'd say are probably low, unless you're a streamer).
Perhaps.
But you have other content creators (like Otz) who have spread awareness about it.

Yup Never understand why killers complain so much about it. When i play killer i Just bait it out then attack.
The Jake who uses it to Dead Hard into a wall was never the issue.
The issue has always been good players using it to extend chases in a meta where Killers are already pressed for time.
-
I still get exceedingly long Killer queues.
I think it's more likely that people are afraid of being DDoS'd and doxxed rather than not enjoying the game.
-
@Bwsted said:
I thought if you're a killer you're not supposed to be a joke but a killer that hangs or murder survivors? Why the [BAD WORD] can survivors do dumb [BAD WORD] like teabagging at exit gates
Because it's a game, you're not an actual killer and they're not gonna die for real. Mindblowing, ikr?
Wait, you're telling me I'm NOT murdering real people???
-
I believe that's called a Hex perk and they've been in the game for a while.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not touching this game untill all these issues are resolved. The swatting especially scares the living ######### out of me. People have been killed over this in the past. It is absolutely outrageous it is not getting officially addressed.
Me either.
-
That's because the current meta for both sides is so strong that any perk that challenges it is crazy strong.

Fun fact: The man who was responbile for finding that exploit and using it to harass streamers, especially Tru3talent, is still playing the game to this day and according to a trusted source may be the one who started to make the DDoS exploit wide-known. Which itself is months old but was just not known to anyone.
BHVR legit does not give a crap currently about solving this problem. I'm not even sure if they consider it a problem. Their only responses to the cheater problem has been the following:
- A generic worded statement to Eurogamer which they have done little to repost on their main social media platforms or in the in-game news section.
- New rules for Fog Whisperer's that say they can't complain too much about cheaters. Lest they make BHVR look bad.
Interesting. Has BHVR been aware of it for that long?

Really makes me laugh at all the whining about boon totems. They aren't even good. The situations where they help are really niche and require wasting time to prepare them.
Also, if you slug someone next to a boon and don't snuff it, that's your fault. They're novel right now, so they're prevalent. Everyone will be back to dead hard, DS, BT, adrenawin, or unbreakabill soon enough.
Nah, CoH is meta.
It removes the Killer's ability to easily snowball.

They already did.
Yeah, and as soon as they could, they added it to those platforms.
Look at it this way, BHVR would never willingly lose out on money by restricting DLC if they weren't forced to

Boon: Repair
"Generators within the Boon radius are automatically repaired at 30/40/50 percent of normal speed. Survivors working on a generator in the Boon radius receive a 5% speed boost to repairing, Good Skillchecks become Greats, Failed Skillchecks become Good and Great Skillchecks give 2% bonus progression."
Ta-da. I've successfully designed a perfect perk.

Killers don't play at night because they sleep. Come on stop moving the goalposts. I get instant queues anytime from 5am to around 12 midnight. I only have trouble finding lobbies in the wee hours. And no surprise that goes for killer games, too.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2638285#Comment_2638285
I've been hearing this nonsense for the past 4 years. DBD has only gone stronger since then.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2638268#Comment_2638268
The game is not balanced towards survivors. Or killers. It's balanced towards skill.
If you are good at this game it is fun. On both sides. If you are bad at the game you get good or you get stressed out from getting beaten on all the time... so you go to the forums and complain about it.
It's definitely not balanced towards skill, by BHVR's own admission. Likewise, high-level DBD gameplay is some of the most boring ######### on the planet.
-
There's no way they'd make an exclusive DLC.
-
I actually get 20 minute queue's as Killer.

It's only a matter of time until cheaters find a way to ban you. Imagine having to completely start over
Yes and BHVR apparently doesn't back up their data, hence why they can't give Legacy cosmetics back and why people randomly get their account yeeted.

It's DS and it's not even close.

Here we go again. Another post full of arguments.
Killer - I camp because I cannot chase survivors, they are too powerful, they can loop, drop pallets and vault windows. They do gens too quick, even though I have so many perks to slow them down, one shot them and stop them leaving when they have five gens.
Survivor - I do gens because the killer is too busy camping. I don't want to leave a teammate on the hook, it's not fair on them. I try to lure them away but they just stand there.
I worry about the DBD community. I have seen killers use this usual excuses of why they camp. Some say it's at low levels, some say it is at high. I play killer quite a lot and never camp, yet I get 4 kills most games, the ones I lose I get plenty of hooks and have fun. I have seen streamers and Youtubers online, who do play at high level that do not camp, so personally I see no reason to camp unless you are not too great, in which case practice. Stop camping and learn the maps, learn the loops, learn how to play mind games, to drive the survivor where you want them to go, to force them to drop pallets early in the game to help you later.
For survivors it's the same advice that is always, you have to sacrifice and just do gens. You will not change the way these players think, you can argue to truth till you are blue in the face. You just have to face that there will so games where somebody will spend the whole game on the hook.
Camping is necessary at a certain level.
It is simply not possible to get a clean 12-hook game without camping or tunneling unless the matchmaking system failed colossally.

This is getting kind of old. Four games in a row today with cheaters. Got held hostage and had to just go AFK and watch Youtube. I see why most of my friends pretty much quit after MMR came out.
Yes. Being held hostage and forced to DC is always a wonderful experience, isn't it?

They shouldn't say anything so as to not tip their hand hacking is one of those scenarios that is better to handle behind the scenes so as to not let it become a pr nightmare. Sure it would reassure those that have been affected by it but it would stop it from continuing to happen. I am sure once they plug the leak and feel confident its been fixed and solved and gotten a few players in deep sh!t for actually abusing their system they will finally talk about it.
Everyone knows DBD has a hacker problem.
Them not saying anything is just making a worse PR situation.

But stay on-topic please.

What frustrated me more than anything was seeing Behavior address the DDOS attacks to Eurogamer instead of addressing their player base first. I think it goes to show just how little they care for the people playing their game compared to the public eye of the gaming press.
Actions speak louder than words, and their inaction in regards to cheaters and hackers speaks volumes.
Yeah, don't inform players whatever you do.

@Jago said:
How can you betray the fps thread.
Because performance and the lack of response is unacceptable but people could die because of BHVR's disgusting response to hackers.
I consider that worse, personally.

@GannTM said:
It’s just sickening how BHVR has been so quiet about this and continue to make their customers miserable.
I agree. Not only miserable, but actually in danger of having their info stolen.

@Laluzi said:
I was more content to wait out the cheating surge because that felt like something that wasn't necessarily in BHVR's hands to handle - I thought it was a matter of finding a new anti-cheat or waiting for EAC to come out with their next patch. Pestering them about it, hopefully, but it was always a contracted service, not an in-house one.
But the information leak is huge and it's intensely distressing that they haven't made a public statement about it. (Eurogamer? Really? Not the actual playerbase?) This is destruction of property and legitimate death threats we're talking about here, not some screaming stunlock Davids and flying hatchet Ghostfaces. The latter are obnoxious; the former is dangerous. I recognize that publicizing it carries a double-edged sword, and that you invite more of the kinds of malicious and profoundly immature people to exploit the data leak by making it known, but Pandora's box has already been opened and it's already happening. This isn't just about getting proof that DBD is putting the pedal to the metal on this one (because this isn't something that can be put off; this needs to be patched now), it's about giving people the information they need to protect themselves. Even if protecting themselves means turning off DBD for a few weeks.
And yeah - that's really bad for the bottom line. But the alternative is even worse, because it's raw proof that the bottom line matters more than not just player experience but player safety.
It is a IRL version of "There is no war in Ba Sing Se."
Everyone knows there's a problem, but BHVR seems to think if they ignore it it'll go away.

Yes, the comedic value goes up significantly when it is successful.
