Blinded/stunned is same to me. I can't see.
Okay, that explains a lot.
Being blinded is no huge deal, being stunned is.

If you're stunned while you're in an animation, it will do nothing. The only time this hasn't been true is between patch 1.9.2 and 1.9.2a of February 2018.
You have a very miniscule fraction of a second to move provided they get the time frame-perfect, which it's unlike they will. If they do it too late you can easily look at the ground, sky, or whatever else.
And again, I know it's a complex idea but you can just... Not pick someone up. If you fear someone is nearby for the flashlight save, then bait it out, walk around and check the area, do a little 180 turn just before picking up- there's a multitude of things you can do to help prevent yourself getting flashlight saved.
Or even better, look at a wall.
I won't pretend like I'm immune to it, but it happens rarely and never twice in a match to me. It isn't difficult to counter provided you know how
The accursed patch.
In all seriousness, I'm not sure if OP is confusing being blinded with being stunned. It kinda sounds like they are.
Also, I really do think flashlights need to be looked at to be more consistent.
-
I'm sure you're real popular with your team.
-
I just think that flashlight saves should be validated.
The amount of times I've visibly seen the Killer turn and still get stunned is like, 90% of saves. If I can see them turn on my end, they were probably way out of the range on their end.

Yes we should, stop being a looser.
- There are survivor players that use controllers and are fine. An example of this is Cope. Killers being able to be used to their full potential is not an objective problem. Your shortcoming are not a basis to just banish the PC playerbase.
- Yeah, the frames and network has nothing to do with PC, as much as a BHVR problem. Don't whine to us about things that the devs should have fixed a while ago. Ping should just be a matter of location. This isn't magic. All this means is that BHVR's servers are stationed at areas that Apex is not.
A Console-only option is a good idea tho.

I mean to be fair DS is needed because of tunneling, I think people are gonna continue to use it more and more.
Not saying people don’t HAVE to use it but you know what I mean.
That's my point.
It's still very meta.

Exactly, and it is dead as hell. This game gets me into lobbies buttery smooth thanks to competent crossplay.
I get in matches way faster in Overwatch on Xbox than I do in DBD
-
@Laluzi said:
I won't argue about DH, but DS is only loosely meta anymore, and if you trigger it, it's entirely your fault. It's not even like Borrowed Time where you can use it offensively despite it being a defensive perk at its inception. If a player off the hook is really aggressively trying to bait a chase and getting in your way, count to twelve, down them, and leave them there. And if you tunnel, there's always the chance you're going to eat a DS. You can get right back to tunneling after that if you really need to, and they can't DS you again. That's all there is to it.
Urban Evasion and Fixated are nowhere close to meta. Iron Will and Unbreakable outclass them by miles. Urban Evasion is mostly for people doing flashy plays and Fixated is mainly to make Sprint Burst more tolerable.
I wish DS was only loosely meta.
I still see it in every game on at least 3 people.
If it weren't my games would be 1000x easier because I don't respect DS.

It looks pretty...that's about all it has going for it.

That's not his biggest issue but it would help.
His two main issues are that his actual Possessed Chains offer about the same slowdown as Clown's bottles but require astronomically more skill to pull off. You have to be good, but you get basically zero reward for it. His Chains also break instantly on objects, their spawn logic is awful, Pinhead can break them instantly and other Survivors can too. All of these combine to make his Possessed Chains very weak.
His second issue is that he relies on RNG way too much. If your chains spawn wrong, they instantly break. If they spawn wrong, you have to break them to hit the Survivors. You also need to be getting Chain Hunts up reliably to have meaningful slowdown.

Damn, that's sad.
No it's okay you don't have to ask your friend : )
Yeah, all of it is also super illegal as well. The issue is it's hard to prove and expensive to pursue a case.
I know the people who hit me, sent zip-bombs and fried my router tried to hit someone else offline, but they were on a military base's network, iirc. All of this is through the virtual grapevine, so take it with a grain of salt, but, they are currently being prosecuted because the military has both the money and the resources to prove and pursue a case.

Most of them own specialized services designed to hit through VPN's, I'm not familiar with how.
I do have a friend who was in that scene for a long time, so I could ask him if you're really curious.

Yeah, would love to know how this happened. It's such a bafflingly huge mistake to make. Sony Credit Card leak huge.
It's times like these that I'm really damn glad that I set up my VPN back when I was in Japan. It's a sad fact, but I'd almost consider a VPN mandatory these days.
Yeah, if I knew how to set-up a VPN for my Xbox I would.
Unfortunately, it's only going to be a deterrent. People can still get through, it just makes it less worth their time.

Indeed. That one isn't on BHVR though. These sites have been around since 2009-ish and Microsoft/Sony haven't done anything about them.
This new issue of nabbing IP's from the game is totally on BHVR though and it makes getting info and getting more way easier.

.
I take it VPN does not work for console users then? Its not something you can set up using a laptop to protect you while you play on console?
Unfortunately not.
There are also "legal" sites that log your IP if you play on Xbox or PS. They hold it for the expressed purpose of allowing people to DDoS you, but don't worry! You can stop them for just a small fee, you can block this from happening!
Totally not extortion or anything...

@GoodBoyKaru said:

I don't believe so. IP addresses are used whenever you'd connect to the Internet, which consoles do, and while I don't think there's any encryption or other protection involved I could be wrong.
If you believe yourself to have been DDOSed, attempt to reset/change your IP address (the linked article tells you how to do this), and make sure you stay as safe as is possible to avoid further complications.
There are sites that log your IP address if you play on console, so no, not safe.

And a lot of Killers lack the capability to lockdown generators that are not 3-genned because of a lack of mobility, of which is compounded against Boons if Survivors place them in gen dead-zones so breaking them is relatively time-inefficient especially if the Survivors are able to run only 24m near them to use them, but the Killer has to run 48m (in total, or more depending on if the Totem is on a different floor) in order to shut down the Totem. Yeah I get it. It's why I'm still skeptical of Boons Radius (at least CoH's) and that they effect floors above and below them./
A lot of Killers lack reliable mobility or far reaching pressure (sans Perks), and trying to shove mobility into every Killers Power is going to kinda get stale and require individual effort to create.
It's why I still think Corrupt Intervention should become basekit in a manner (and perhaps introduce a generic method of map traversal for all Killers tied to The Basement, bonus points if it's something Survivors can interact with too).
Well, there was the Early-Game Collapse, but we saw where that ended up :(

That's... my point?
I take it you think Trapper is a highly viable Killer in all scenarios?
Sure, a few Killers that are end-game beasts with a 3-gen is fine, but if it's as you say, the majority of the cast being reliant on it, that's an issue.
Yeah, Killer's need to keep gens on lockdown so they can snowball. That's just how the game works.
CoH, specifically, removes virtually all chance of a snowball. You either slowly lose the battle of attrition because you can't keep people injured, they get hit and run to the Boon to heal or you lose quickly by following someone to the Boon and snuffing it.
Lose-lose.
Boons are far too good and need to be nerfed.
-
@Nathan13 said:

A survivor messing with boons is a survivor that is not on a gen. It only hurts you when you ignore the boons.
A Survivor blessing a boon saves so much time later.
It kills 3-gen strats which a lot of the cast rely on to be viable.

Seems right up BHVR's alley.

- Worst? Likely still yet to come. Probably whenever Console's give out. Best? Maybe around the time Stranger Things launched. Lots of new players, hype Chapter and good perks.
- The Continued Ignorance of Performance Issues that Continues to Hamper Players Fun
- Very displeased.
- Nothing else like it. I'd play VHS, but I play on Xbox.
- Worried. Almost every Chapter release lately has killed Console-DBD.
- Total? Over 4000 hours. I play every day or every other day.
- No. I'd fear for their system of choice and I couldn't recommend them a game which costs nearly $200 USD to fully enjoy. It's worse than launch Battlefront II.
- The frequency of toxicity is about the same, but the lengths to which the people who are toxic are willing to go to seems to be much further than other games. I've played Overwatch, Siege and CoD for thousands of hours, but I never had a router fried. It's happened twice in DBD. This year.

If it's only "playable" by incurring excessive stress on yourself then that's not really playable in my opinion. It's almost more like a chore at this point.
That much I will agree with.
The amount of stress required to do well is extremely high.

Taking one game out of a bunch doesn't make sense. I also have 4k with 32k BP with a PH sometimes but it's not because i have played better, it's because the other side made huge mistakes.
Being able to win on others mistakes is a thing but not being able to win because you cannot outplay them, you have to wait for their mistakes is not a good game design.
Maybe against another team you might have get 3 hooks.
It is also depending of the MMR you play at. Killer is really playable, even EZ at an average MMR or below but once you have reached the top, it's impossible to perform.
Or maybe you are a top 0,1% Oni player with 1000h with him and that's normal if you win most of your trials.
But look at the games i have listed, some got 4k playing fair. But globally, the average # of hooks is 4,7 lol...
I don't think you can keep the killer players playing if they do 4,7 hooks on average...
I'm disputing your averages.
I had 9 hooks, I think. It was a stressful game and it easily could've gone either way. They were exceptional players and well, I don't really play Oni.
-
I had this game earlier today.
Not blurring names because these guys were super good, they actually made me tryhard to win. They were great players and were super nice after the game. Whatever the opposite of naming and shaming is what I'd like to do with these guys, they were just wonderful, honestly. They messaged me "GG <3" and that made my day.
However, this game was incredibly stressful. Afterwards, I spoke with two of them and they agreed. They had been "sweating their asses off" because I was ending chases so quickly. We decided it was really just a vicious cycle.
Moral of the story is, Killer is absolutely playable. It's just needlessly stressful and it can be very difficult. There's also little consistency. One match is like this with a really good 4-man, the next is versus a bunch of poor Solo Q players. I have no way to tell the difference except based off of memory. So I end up stomping a group of Solo's, who then go play SWF and the cycle continues.
It all comes back to the enormous disparity between Solo Q and SWF.

It takes me like 2 minutes for a Survivor lobby.
I've sat in 45 minute Killer queue's tho.

I get pips from 1ks and dying, even in Iri, so not really. MMR hates those, the emblems tolerate and even love them provided you're simply participating. Grade's definitely a time-played measure, but it's even less a measure of skill than MMR is due to the lack of de-grading - law of averages just says it's going up, provided the MMR system doesn't put you in a death spiral.
Someone who puts in 100 hours a month probably isn't going to keep playing if they die all the time tho
I'm not saying it's a hard indicator, but it is a tip-off

A while. It's not the kind of thing I forget about, though.
Well, for your two examples:
During the podrace scene (which was wicked by the way) Anakin keeps a straight face or a frown during the entire race. After he wins, he smiles as everyone else celebrates his victory with him, including Qui-Gon and Padme. Also, he didn't kill anybody during the podrace. The one guy who crashed after trying to kill Anakin was very clearly alive, considering he has a line after he crashes in the desert.
During the Battle over Naboo, he's struggling to keep the ship intact and eventually lands in the hangar as a result of the auto-pilot. He knows the ship is responsible for killing his friend's people, so he accidentally destroys it. He celebrates after emerging from the ship probably because he's happy that he's alive. I doubt he even realized there were sentient lifeforms on board, he's 9.
And as a rebuttal example:
Other than hearing that these people are stranded far away from home, he invites total strangers into his and his mother's home so that they won't be left out during a dangerous storm. He asks for nothing in return and leaving them in danger is inconceivable to him.
