Man, look how much attention these FNAF news get.

I bet that they will bring it if they can get the license.

Yeah, look how much is negative.

  • I don't know if I'm qualified to answer. I do have well over 5K hours spread across multiple platforms but I've only been here since early 2018, is that sufficient?

Kinda ironic that you talk about the FNAF community even though it's completely fine. Lmao

    Yeah.....it's not

So there 2 different groups. One wants it in game and other one hates. Am i correct?

Because i really don't know anything about FNaF, not my taste. And i never played any of FNaF games.

The creator has some...issues in his past which could upset a lot of minority groups.

The actual game isn't very good.

    It's community is actually horrid.

It's basically geared towards kids, or at least people younger than me.

I'm sure someone else could give you a better breakdown, but I'm really tired.

I don't know anything about FNAF, why it would split community

It would be a very controversial license.

You mean in contrast to the nice DBD community here :-)

If we get the fnaf community we might actually be worse than the nuclear wasteland levels of LoL.

  • It shares two words.

I am so not ready to deal with this again.

I don´t think it will divide much - it will bring new players. Thats it. If they stay after a few matches with the recent experience is a different thing.

What license will be better? (Except from Jason and Chucky and IT - these would be liked overall i think)

    Yeah, it will.

FNAF's horrid community and awful reputation follow it around. No way BHVR wants that near them after the NFT debacle.

    Maybe.

But there are already thoughts on FNAF and then this kinda similar wording?

The last game is named Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted

I sincerely doubt they'll touch FNAF because it will split an already fractured community. I imagine they're looking for a good win right now and FNAF is NOT the way to get it.

wasn’t Hellraiser at the point of that teaser pretty much the license that most people expected it to be, partly because of the year?

but. Well. I don’t actually expect people to be logical on these forums

A lot of people thought that, yeah.

That entire incident basically cemented my hatred of FNAF. Even in the face of it obviously not being FNAF, people decided to double-down and spam.

Whereas the terrorists KNEW what they were doing and what consequences it would cause, the Survivors macro'ing their flashlights did not. Ergo, it fits better with my example, where an oversight caused serious harm.

That example was to prove that BHVR had nothing to do with causing the epileptic seizure itself. That's what the survivors did.

So like how I iterated, this issue lies with the survivors (i.e. terrorists) than BHVR (American Airlines).

I took it as the OP walked in on their cousin having a seizure and took appropriate measures to get them help.

Quite a specific premise you are setting for the OP.

Instead of thinking that the OP was literally next to the cousin when all this happened, you are here to tell me that we should assume that the OP just happened to walk into the room at the EXACT TIME the cousin was foaming at the mouth while playing the game he also happens to passionately play? Does that make any common sense to you?

Have you ever witness an actual epileptic seizure before, Pulsar? They don't scream or even make a loud noise, meaning it's not that cliche. It's highly unlikely that the OP "walked in" the room while his cousin was on the ground foaming at the mouth while having an epileptic seizure.

I think you should carefully consider that.

I did and I still stand by my conclusion.

I have never witnessed one, no.

From my understanding, the OP is not describing a "mild" seizure. To quote St. John's NZ First Responder's Group, "A full-scale epileptic seizure involves violent jerking of the limbs, facial twitching, and foaming at the mouth due to saliva being blown through clenched teeth."

A seizure or convulsion can occur at any age and is due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain resulting in uncontrollable muscular activity and loss of consciousness. Read how to deliver first aid to someone experiencing seizure or convulsion.

This is consistent with what little information the OP described. Likewise, "violent jerking of the limbs" seems like it would be fairly loud if they were seated at a desk.

I am merely saying it is more reasonable to think that OP found their cousin rather than assuming they knowingly allowed a serious harm to come to them. That's not something normal people do. To be clear, are you accusing OP of being showing psychopathic tendencies and intending to harm their cousin?

  • I'm sure BHVR has great ideas and if they don't, the community does.

The issue, I suspect, is that the game can't handle any of the more creative (and fun) ideas.

  • @Voodoo_Thirsty said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2844535#Comment_2844535

I'll try to respond in the most logical way possible.

What I'm emphasizing is that there are two separate faults taking place here. For example, on September 11th 2002, we all know that terrorists hijacked an American Airlines plane.

Negligence about an issue doesn't get rid of culpability.

Now, I do blame American Airlines (in this case, BHVR) for having terrible security that couldn't even prevent MULTIPLE terrorists from boarding their planes. BUT, at the same time, I can't blame American Airlines for the terrorists' atrocities as it was out of their hands at the point.

It is BHVR's fault for having terrible hacking prevention system, but the real perpetrators (i.e. survivors who exploit the game using macros and hacks) are not and should not be clumped together with the company regarding this issue. They should be handled separately.

I do not like how quick you are to blame the OP

I have heard this before and I still cannot agree with it.

The OP is a DBD player who has played the game for a LONG time (his posts alone can prove this). He would most likely be more experienced and even be more familiar with the game than the cousin (otherwise either that cousin never had a seizure before all this time or he was just REALLY unlucky here, but I doubt this is the case).

The epileptic episode clearly took place in close proximity with the OP (cuz he recounts seeing the whole thing and being absolutely terrified) and states he even knew of the preexisting condition his cousin had.

So to sum it up, the experienced OP had a cousin who also played the same game he plays for a long time (and is quite passionate about) and even witnessed his very episode in the very same premise.

But we are to assume he never knew and that he had no knowledge of this at all in the first place? I doubt it.

I do not think your example fits.

Whereas the terrorists KNEW what they were doing and what consequences it would cause, the Survivors macro'ing their flashlights did not. Ergo, it fits better with my example, where an oversight caused serious harm.

Likewise, nowhere does the OP state they were with their cousin. I took it as the OP walked in on their cousin having a seizure and took appropriate measures to get them help. If they were not, you are essentially accusing the OP of being a psychopath who intended to cause harm to their family members. Sagan Standard, if you are going to make extraordinary claims, you need extraordinary evidence.

You have assumed without any supporting evidence and have accused the OP of being negligent at worst and intentionally causing harm at worst. I think you should carefully consider that.

  • Maybe give Boons a timer?

I haven't seen that idea thrown around yet. They automatically deactivate after X seconds so you can either kick them or let them expire, if they're too far out of the way.

This is a joke, isn't it?

How far does Devs help survivors?

If even this is not allowed for Enduring, then that perk could give the killer a Haste effect after reducing the palette stun duration.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2844430#Comment_2844430

    Sigh... This again?

Actually it would be more like you bringing your cousin to disneyland. He has a heart condition.

    Let's talk about this premise.

The kid has a heart condition. Okay, then why in the flying duck is that cousin going to an amusement park to ride dangerous rides that could cause his condition to get worse in the first place?

Remember now, the cousin knew he had epilepsy and the OP was aware of this also.

Terrible analogy that has no relevance to this very situation. Your argument will only work if nobody was aware of the condition.

In this case, Disney is legally culpable for anything that happens.

Yes, they will be and I wholeheartedly agree that DBD is in the wrong for not putting a sign that warns people of epilepsy.

BUT, DBD itself does not inherently cause epilepsy. Third party programs that exploit a feature using a Macro that was never meant to flicker that fast is what causes them, so in BHVR's case, it's a little different from your Disneyland example.

Also, you are required to give reasonable accomadation for people.

    Accommodation? For what?

You do realize that people who have preexisting knowledge of their illness don't get much compensation nor appeal in courts right?

They actually criticize you for making a poor decision.

In fact, compensations are only given to those who didn't have knowledge of their illnesses. His cousin knew. Once again, your example only pertains to those who have 0 knowledge of their health issues and were ignorant about them.

Your initial post only works if we accept the idea all games equally cause the same sort of issues in all photosensitive people.

Yes and that's exactly my point.

All games DO affect photosensitive people to a certain extent. That's why nearly ALL doctors will advise them to be VERY careful or even stay away from games all together due to this very reason.

However, DEAD BY DAYLIGHT is a horror game, with a darker screen, flashlights that shines light to the player, etc. Playing a few games can clearly prove this point.

    I iterate once more:

    • If you know you are epileptic, be careful of what you play.
    • If you are going to take a risk playing a game that clearly seems like it could cause an episode, that's on you. No one else to blame.
    • Unless you were NEVER diagnosed with an illness before, you cannot be proven completely innocent and not all the public will stand with you on your case.

That's all I have to say.

"Yes, they will be and I wholeheartedly agree that DBD is in the wrong for not putting a sign that warns people of epilepsy.

BUT, DBD itself does not inherently cause epilepsy. Third party programs that exploit a feature using a Macro that was never meant to flicker that fast is what causes them, so in BHVR's case, it's a little different from your Disneyland example."

I do take issue with that statement. This implies that BHVR is not aware that there are macro's for flashlights. I find this very difficult to believe. For a real world example, if a car manufacturer unknowingly sells a car with faulty brakes and you get in an accident, that doesn't mean they are "off the hook" so to speak. Negligence about an issue doesn't get rid of culpability.

As an aside, I do not like how quick you are to blame the OP. OP did not specify what happened to prompt their cousin to play DBD. There are any number of scenario's in which this is not their fault. Instead, you chose to assume that it was OP's fault and blamed them, when in reality, it is far more likely that they were unaware of their cousin's choices. Perhaps it's a personal opinion, but blaming someone (without ANY proof) who just went through a likely traumatic and terrifying event is extremely distasteful, to say the least.

That's so absurdly brutal. I think survivors being able to interact with a killer power is good and all of its a give and take, like plagues fountains or healing against oni.

That just doesn't seem like the case for sadako.

    Yes.

Demogorgon's Portals are FAR better in pretty much every way.

100 seconds? Damn I thought it was way less than that... I genuinely believed that the TV's took so long to come back was because survivors were disabling them off cooldown

I believe it's actually less if the Survivors turn them off than if you use them.

100 seconds for a Teleport, 60 if a Survivors shuts them down.

  • Yes, in my (limited) testing, her stealth is basically non-existent. It might trip up new players or people not paying attention, but against any half-decent team, it's gonna do about nothing.

Her TV's cannot reliably be used to cut people off. Survivors do get a directional sound, but you're fast enough to make that a non-factor. The issue is their placement. It's not often that a Survivor will be running close enough or in the directional of a TV.

I find her TV's to be far inferior to Demo's Portals. Faster, yes but Demo's Portals don't go on a 100 second cooldown after they've been used.

    This is true.

    This ^

I've gotten 3 Condemned moris out of the 4 times someone has hit max stacks. Once they're fully Condemned if they aren't literally at the TV when you find them, which is actually fairly easy if you know where the TVs are and/or have the addon that shows the location of turned off ones, they're very easy to kill.

The issues that I have with her kit come from 2 places though:

-Enduring feels almost mandatory on her, because you are eating pallets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    -Condemned doesn't build quick enough.

Combine both of these with COH continuing to exist and you have a killer that I feel is fun to play as and again, is excellently designed and I am very happy with existing, however needs just a few more pushes to get her into strong territory without making her too strong.

She's definitely one of the higher skill cap killers, though nowhere near Blight or Nurse level, maybe comparable to Spirit but weaker, and I hope we get some more buffs in an upcoming midchapter like we did Trickster, with the caveat that unlike Trickster she's actually well designed.

I find her to be rather similar to MoM, Trickster and Legion, actually. Not quite in the same tier, but still in the category of "extremely powerful effect".

Allow me to explain. Trickster, Legion and MoM all offer very powerful (or potentially powerful) abilities. Being able to Mori someone without hooking them once is exceedingly powerful and as such, must be balanced appropriately. I feel that this puts Sadako in a very tricky spot balance-wise. She is undeniably weak, but I don't think we'll see any changes to Condemned due to the above reasons.

I'd rather they give her something to help in chase. She's horrid in chase, better than maybe Legion.

But we're not invincible, or at least we shouldn't be. We should go down to the killer eventually. And when that happens, and when they choose to camp, how is that our fault?

    It's not.

The amount of hoops you have to jump through to justify that opinion is insane

If we are talking solo Q, which is where the majority of games take place, who's fault is it for getting found first?

Oh, yeah. The survivor's. That's right.

If you are complaining the outcome of a game is 1 person getting camped to death, then ill say you were worse than the 3 other survivors on your team at being stealthy. And solo Q ain't a team game. That's why the hatch exists. It's a team game until people start dying. It's more like a battle royal if the killer is actually good.

    You can't hide all game.

Despite what some people would have you believe, the game has come a long way from 2016 DBD. Stealth has its uses, but it isn't reliable.

You'll notice how nobody shares your opinion. Think on that.

  • @OpenX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842625#Comment_2842625

Sounds like something to say when you know I am right. Being immersed at your gen wastes just as much time as looping and uses no pallets. That's why the best players in the game do it when they are playing for money.

But I can tell you don't play the game at a high enough level to know any of that. That's why you are in here complaining about Bubba lmao.

And yet, I didn't bring up player skill to try to discredit you, did I? That's a classic obfuscation tactic. One that isn't going to slip by unnoticed.

The best players in comp have one person dropping pallets instantly and three doing separate gens. The Killer camps the one who got chased, the other three get out.

Stealth is a viable option. Nobody is contending that. What people take issue with is "It's the Survivors fault for being chased."

  • @OpenX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842588#Comment_2842588

Yeah, it is. Stealth is a viable option in this game. I don't hand out chases for free as a survivor, even if i'm a strong looper. Give me a reason why I would? Getting found and being in a chase in the first place is a mistake, especially in solo Q. In tournaments the strategy is literally to hide in lockers until the first survivor is caught and starts being chased.

    I don't even need to make a counter-argument.

Your illogical and ridiculous take is doing it for me.

  • @OpenX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2842534#Comment_2842534

I like how you are going to use that as an example instead of Rancor. You get chased for 5 gens and then just straight up die lmao. No camping required. And it's existence confirms the dev's don't care about 1 survivor dying cheaply. The killer still lost as a whole.

It's the survivors fault for being the one chased. It really is. For so long DBD was actually a stealth game at red ranks because the only killer there was Nurse. Don't forget that.

No, it's ######### not the Survivors fault for being chased LMAO

  • inb4 it's the exact same but with more pallets and breakable walls

  • @GuyFawx said:

If you are getting camped the fault is your own and nobody elses at least your preventing the killer from getting maxiumum bp

    Yeah, that's not true.

The Bubba who chased you for 5 gens and downed + facecamped you with NOED is totally your fault. He just outskilled you.

Facecamping is a plague on this game. It shouldn't be in the game. Unfortunately, there is no way to remove it that doesn't also punish innocent players.
