That's the thing Nurse has never been effects by cooldown reductions because her blinks act as a separate thing by itself the only things that affect the Nurse are her add-ons that reduce fatigue so the only way she would get value out of the update is if she didn't blink attack survivors. The update doesn't buff her in any way besides maybe the speed boost reduction, but it all depends on whether or not it's not a map without LoS blockers which virtually every map has at least to some extent even shelter woods. A.) Nurses don't break pallets or breakable walls. B.) The cooldown reduction only is there if a Nurse walks toward a survivor and if you let a walking Nurse hit you I don't know what to tell you.
Or if you get the double stun bug where you weapon wipe then fatigue.
I do think the speed boost reduction is significant.

She's already not the strongest killer in game anymore. So yes, no range. Especially on huge maps. Would cement her as not being the best.

"Pop's nerf is so slight that it barely matter"
Ah yes a nerf which severance is directly proportional to the progress done on a gen is so slight it doesn't matter?
Old pop gives you 20sec no matter what (except the gens done less than 20%).
New pop gives you, on a 99% gen:
Progress: 90sec*0,99 = 89,1sec
Regress: 89,1sec*0,2 = 17,1sec
Plus built-in "pop"
90*0,025 = 2,25 sec
At BEST it gives you 19,35sec worth of regress.
Now let's see the "worst" case, a gen with for example 10% progress.
Old: Flat 8sec.
New:
Progress: 90sec*0,1 = 9sec
Regress:. 9sec*0,2 = 1,8sec
Plus kick: 4,05sec.
50% value and even that only thanks to the flat kick bonus.
On any gen between 20 and 80% (5,85sec-16,65sec regress) pop got nerfed by up to 72% depending on the stat of the gen.
And sorry but if i have to walk twice or thrice the time it takes of the gen to even find the damn thing then i would say the perk is rightfully dead.
(Someone may gladly correct me if my calculations or the logic of them have some error in them.)
Are you taking into consideration the flat regression that kicking now does?

It really is just range & recharge that needs to go. Either that or allow survivors to kill themselves on the floor because facing a double range Nurse that slugs for the 4K is probably the most boring experience you can have in this game.
Forever Legion.
Filthy Blade + Defaced Smiley Pin.
Penti, Ruin, PR and Thana.
50% longer gens at 1 stack of Penti, 50% longer healing at 2 stacks.
Enjoy.

So, the basic attack cooldown reduction, does that also affect Nurse's hit off of a Blink?
Likewise, to anyone who played her on the PTB, how much does the speed boost reduction affect her?

Do it, make it a challenge to yourself. The sickness will not subside.
edit:
When you start feeling sick make a pause and look at the horizon while breathing slowly and focusing on the feeling of the air going through your nose. It should help.
Thank you.
I'll see if I can stream some of the Nurse games, I doubt anyone will be interested in seeing me lose more in a day than I have in 6 months, but I'm making the offer lol

I think it's extremely unlikely too, but then I am reminded about Deathslinger.
Nice to know you'll soften our fall.
This is something we all agree on.
How they eviscerated Deathslinger, Billy and Freddy was unacceptable and should not happen again.

Or maybe she does take a really long ass time to learn. Everyone who thinks she's as oppressive as they claim really needs to put up their winstreak video. Either they're right, and they can reproduce the results, or it really is gated behind considerable skill and practice. Hell, they may even discover that there's a whole tier of Nurses they can actually face, if they didn't just give up on hook. There's a reason players measure themselves in 1000s of blinks.
I'm fairly confident that if I wasn't so sick I could probably learn her in under a week. I might still be able to do it now. Hmmmmm.
also, real talk, I just lost my first Dredge game today and I'm very sad.

Edit: You did, notification history dropped me on the wrong spot. We regularly tell players to try Nurse before mischaracterizing her. You did. You made it 38 games. So it's almost like that low kill rate isn't just people playing her 1-3 games and giving up. She earns her keep.
I played 38 games in one or two days, iirc.
So what, it takes people more than two days to learn how to properly use a Killer?
That sounds normal to me for power-oritented Killers. PH, Nurse, Nemi, Oni all probably take about that long to get results with. The difference is that you can't play Nurse like a normal Killer. Even an Oni without using his power can get a down and NOED camp, he's gonna get at least one. You cannot play like that with Nurse, if you can't blink well, you won't get ANY Kills.
It was hard for me to do because every time I would blink, I'd start to get nauseous, so I imagine I had a worse time with her than most people.
-
I'd suspect a latency issue.
-
I was here when those SWF stats were released.
Those are nearly 3 years old and completely unusable.

The game is called "Dead by Daylight", not "Drop a pallet to win" ... 😅
Nurse can be stunned by a pallet and cannot land in it. It is possible to restrict her landing options like that. Of course dropping or vaulting a pallet in a chase is usually a bad move but so it is against many killers, as @GoshJosh as pointed out.
I can only encourage you to play the Nurse, as difficult or frustrating it is. It will give you tools to verse most of them.
I've played enough that I am aware of how to "counter" Nurse.
I am also wise enough to know that there is little you can do against a meta Nurse.

Like, didn't you try to play Nurse? I recall a thread about it. How did you not get to that point where the Nurse clearly knew what they were doing but they were struggling with certain deadzones and rock/pallet combos because the survivor was eating their blink and they weren't realizing it?
How quickly did you give up playing Nurse?
After 38 losses in a row.
She made me motion sick and gave me headaches.
-
I do feel that they may have over nerfed DH but I'd like to play with it first.
Likewise, I am concerned about the state of Solo Q and how this update may push more people into SWF's, which will make the game harder for new Killers.

Doesn't ignore mechanics at all.
This guy can pallet loop a Nurse!
That's awesome how do you manage that
-
What is the point of this post.
Either you're able to see both sides clearly and you understand that Nurse no longer fits in the game with her current power level or you believe that ignoring basic game mechanics is just a skill issue.

I hope you find a good solution to your worsening health. I really wish you the best.
Thank you, my friend.
Unfortunately, that seems rather unlikely at this stage
-
I'm tired a lot as well, but that's likely because of my ever worsening health than DBD.
The game isn't too fun right now, it's rather stale.
-
The matchups of new players vs SWF's is as old as time. It happened before my time and I suspect it will continue.
-
Depends on who you're balancing around.

SWF can't be and shouldn't be removed. Although if solo queue were improved, fewer survivors might see it as the only option.
Although if solo queue were improved, fewer survivors might see it as the only option.
Someone finally put it into words. Most people don't play SWF to "bully" the Killer, although there are some who do that. They play it because Solo Q is absolutely ######### miserable.
-
I think I agree.
Hillbilly and Blight are very difficult to master but not very difficult to pick up and do okay with. If you slap four slowdown perks on either of them, you're gonna do fine against 95% of players.
Nurse is very hard to pick up and do okay with. Even with 4 slowdown perks, a new Nurse is going to lose against 95% of players (the other 5% are my solo q teammates). However, Nurse is not necessarily hard to master.
As I grow more cynical and jaded with this game, I discover I agree less and less with things I may have whole-heartedly endorsed years ago. I fear this is one of them: Nurse isn't a Killer that belongs at her current strength.
-
Not saying that you or I would have fun that match, they look annoying.
but either of us could have capitalized on their mistakes.

It could be this week, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is next week.

they only need one guy on a gen, 3 of them can just go around burning you
Their flashlights will burn out lol.
It will take the solo guy a really long time to do all 5 gens. Do you want some general gameplay tips? This is something a lot of newer players struggle with.
-
Blight is, unfortunately, substantially weaker on Console.
His inability to flick or rapidly adjust after bouncing can cripple him at times.
-
It's because of ping.
I'm fairly confident BHVR said that they consider 120 ms ping to be "pretty good."
-
I'm fairly sure I got that challenge on my first game.
Father Campbell's Chapel iirc.
-
Nurse is a relic from an era of DBD that no longer exists.
The average player is not able to deal with what Nurse brings to the table (the complete disregard of every mechanic the game drills into you) and I do not believe she fits into DBD's current balance.

Nah I think she was 18 in season three but her cosmetics are from past seasons. I think Steve and Nancy are 1 year apart and Steve was like 19 in season 3
Except both of their default cosmetics are from S1
Their cosmetics say that this is 17 year old Steve and 16 year old Nancy, however, their lore indicates that they were taken at the end of S2; that would make Steve around 18 and Nancy around 17.
-
If two or more Survivors are lightburning you, that's frustrating, but they'll lose.
They aren't on gens and will waste resources.
-
@deKlaw_04 said:
Max is like 15 in the show so that would never happen
Nancy seems to be from S1 and she was 15 or 16 there.

Don't be mean.Let's stop and have a talk about what happens in a match like this.
DBD is a game that deals with frame counting. You might think about it but thats what it really is. Everytime you are doing a mind game or some sneaky movement it is to try and get a frame advantage. The survivors do this by turning on their torch and then performing a 360 to obscure their hitbox.
Anyway - the killer was getting frustrated and made a few mistakes. Then what happens is you make more mistakes than you should because you are a little tilted. In that regard the game is just like golf. DBD is a bit odd in that when you miss by making a mistake you are more likely to make a mistake again by the tiniest margin.
I am not being mean, I am being honest.
Is this annoying? Yeah. Could the Wraith player have played better? Yep.
These Survivors aren't even that good. They're meme'ing around.
-
There are better maps to go to as Survivor
-
There were a lot of very poor decisions made by the Wraith player.
Those Survivors weren't very good either, they made a ton of poor plays.

And don’t forget they usually smack you on the hook as well
I didn't take down those stats.
I only recorded if they facecamped (before endgame, obviously)
-
@Dwight_Fairfield said:
I am sick of it. Practically every Bubba I get does it. I had two tonight do the insidious face camping thing. At five gens.
I legitimately cannot remember the last time I faced a Bubba who played normally instead spending most of the match staring at a hook.
When I was taking stats, it was something like well over 75% of Bubba's facecamped the first person they downed.

100 will give you a better shot.

I haven't bothered after I saw the horrible reward.

As much as I liked Hawkins aesthetically, no indoor map has ever been good in DBD.
I'd say they're getting better, but the last one was RPD
