I guess because it's all he's good at.
If you take it away he might actually be the worst Killer in the game. With it, he might be better than the very bottom tier Killers.
-
F-tier right now tbh.
He sucks

Just played a match on dead dog saloon. Same thing, I think every pallet that could spawn did. Every entrance to the main building except the front was closed.
That's normal.
Dead Dawg doesn't have too much pallet variation and all of the breakable walls are guaranteed spawns.

Exactly when are the devs going to start paying you and @GoodBoyKaru for all that y'all do for this game?
Nah, GoodBoyKaru does way more than me and is way nicer too lmao

maps have a minimum number of pallets they need to spawn that may lead to picture above.
There are over TWENTY pallets on that map.
Minimum is not the issue.

I need more time with him but I am leaning that way
-
After some further testing, this bug appears to only be affected Shattered Square.
I didn't test every map. I did go to Blood Lodge, Badham IV and Family Residence. There were no more pallets than usual nor were they any closer together than usual.

I haven't noticed more pallets when in a public match. Could it be bot mode gives more pallets for practice? I haven't seen video from public match, just people in custom going around.
It is the same in public matches.
I didn't count but I did see double pallets.

Farmer John has a theory that pallet spawn logic just isnβt applying: Every place where a pallet can spawn, a pallet is spawning. So far, I think Iβd believe that.
It's an interesting theory but there are spots in this video where pallets could spawn but don't. For the time being though, I don't see any other explanation.
I'm moving on to other maps to try to see if it affects them as well or if it's just Shattered Square.

He's got a very cool concept and his cosmetic design is pretty cool (besides the Sadako hair falling out of his helmet) but his actual power leaves a lot to be desired.
It's entirely possible that a tech will be discovered shortly that will boost his power level but as it stands, he's probably bottom 5, possibly the worst Killer.
His power is just...completely ineffective in chase. You lose distance for even daring to try it AND your guards will never catch a Survivor. You can't even really hold people at loops like Artist can, she maintains control of her body while placing a Bird. The Knight doesn't and has a lengthy channel to place his Guards.
The double whammy is that his power is also really bad at controlling space. The Guards take FAR too long to lock on and give Survivors so much of a head start that they have no hope of catching them. He just makes three gens take longer, but he won't ever win them.
The only thing he actually seems to excel at is hardcore camping, which personally, I didn't think we needed another one of those. His Guards can chase and hit people near the Hook and can effectively deny unhooks. He might be in the Bubba-tier of facecamping.

DBD is an old game. Not many new people compared to the invested player base. The new prestige just makes them more obvious.
Honestly I feel like it's the opposite
DBD has always been a revolving door of players.
-
Imagine if they made the DC penalty apply to bot matches π
-
This feels like a pretty big reach.
The incentives have always been inconsistent and weird. I can have a 100% Survivor BP bonus and my friend can have a 100% Killer bonus, despite the fact that we play very similar.

Bubba is made to camp and ruin everyone's experience, who will I play if they take this away??? /s
Idk probably forever legion or something
-
Play like you'd want the other side to play. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.
I do what I have to in order to win. I expect Survivors to do the same.
-
Legion, Pinhead and Bubba are my most hated.
Legion matches are boring as #########. Pinhead matches are horrific in solo q. And Bubba is gonna facecamp.
-
I think that's just a fact.
When MMR was being tested I had an almost 2 hour queue on Blight.
When MMR launched I had horrendous Killer queues only to play against the same 20 people. They hated me and I hated them but when we weren't online we couldn't find matches.
Now? I get very varied opponents. The only Killer I have semi-consistent players with is Nemesis.
-
I don't and I still get tunneled :(
They simply can't resist the Steve
-
I think Dead Hard is fine.
Boons are just a bad idea in general but I think CoH is in an....acceptable spot balance-wise.

Should be around 11 AM EST

Yea, it really feels like people are grasping at straws to justify problematic things being in the game. Im tired of whataboutism on both sides. "Toolboxes might be broken, but Killers have Nurse", "Eruption might be problematic against SoloQ, but survivors have Boons", like it's so frustrating.
Yeah.
As I've gotten more experienced in DBD (accepted my role as a grumpy veteran) I've come to care more and more about how fun things can be for both sides.
There are bad things on both sides that I will argue against.
-
Wesker shittalking Survivors
-
I think you might get hit here even if you do get the stun lol
All you need to do as Killer is respect the pallet and you get a hit regardless
-
That house isn't even close to an infinite.
However, the main building can be very difficult to deal with if it spawns the good windows. It can also spawn neither and be a dead structure.
-
Boons were an awful idea from the start and clearly you weren't here when CoH went to Live.
DH is actually one of the best reworks they've ever done. There's actual skill involved now instead of "I press E and you lose". I have literally zero problem outplaying Survivors that have it and if they do get it off, it's because I messed up.
This is just classic whataboutism. "Eruption might be OP but what about Dead Hard and Boons!!!1111!!"
The existence of one OP thing doesn't excuse another's continued existence.
-
Probably have a challenge or something
-
There's a whole bunch of eh fixes for DC's and one fix that everybody will be happy with.
-
Congrats on the W.
I've only ever faced one comp player (they were playing Blight) and it was certainly a time.
I did play against a 10K hour squad earlier on Nemesis tho.
Thankfully, pretty much everyone I've met, either with high hours or a comp background, has been pretty chill. Array was cool and so was the Xbox squad

This is very true but in what universe will that work? Nurse can charge for a hot second and TP to you before you get that off.
Granted, I haven't seen anyone pull that off continuously.
It's pretty useful against comp Nurses I've seen

well what i have read were all BIG nerf suggestions, cuddled in the word "balancing". At one point i gave up on those threads completely, this is the first one i find reasonable and smart.
It does need a nerf.
-
I tried playing Nemesis again this week-end.
I was quickly reminded why I don't play him anymore.
They were all super chill about it, I managed a 2K with 10 hooks but Jesus Christ it was stressful.

no, all ive seen is "eruption OP nerf." nothing more. And the so called suggestions were nerf suggestions.
Because it's overtuned and needs a nerf. Not a heavy one.

It's not unrealistic chase times though. Eruption has been meta since the meta shakeup, and many killers can still lose games even when they equip the perk. If the perk really was a problem, then BHVR would have seen it in their stats by now, because I'm sure they can pull stats to compare how killers perform with and without eruption.
And again, if you don't like the AoE idea, then the Last X seconds idea works too, and has zero chance of catching survivors that are just randomly near the generators. And according to you the perk is currently uncounterable by solo q, so Last X seconds should function exactly the same against solo q, so you shouldn't even notice a difference when you're in a solo q lobby.
The perk is already too good and should be nerfed, not buffed.
It doesn't need a major nerf.
-
"JUST HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO LEARN A NEW KILLER???"
Painfully.

Shirtless Steve
-
Me remembering my first ever game of DBD as Wraith in early 2018 that caused me to forever hate Claudettes
-
I do think the Hindered is fine, when you aren't getting tunneled.
Maybe have it be like OTR? Link it to conspicuous actions? As long as you don't progress the match, your infection doesn't progress?
And as for the change proposed, yes.

I'm sorry if this comes off as rude, but you're saying you remember all that, yet you only listed one change out of several major changes to Ghostface? Or are you saying you remember all of that now? I'm confused.
And then you say that you don't remember every change... I'm very confused.
I said that I recall those changes vaguely now that you've listed them out.

@AMOGUS said:

Um, no... you might need to look up videos on PTB Ghosty, PTB Ghosty didn't have his red stain removed when he would enter his power, just his TR, and you needed to crouch to remove it.
And as expected of BHVR, this didn't work at all on the PTB, and was inconsistent. I remember seeing a video on it but I can't find it now.
Crouch speed was also slower, the sound effects Ghosty constantly makes was MUCH louder, you could reveal Ghosty in 0.0000001 seconds AND you could reveal him from any corner of your screen...
Ghostface was set up to be one of the worst killers in the game and most likely the worst chapter in DBD. They buffed the ######### out of him before he went live, which was very smart. No Survivor, no new map, just one (extremely weak at the time) Killer, has to be bought with cells and this was considered a entire chapter, not a paragraph...
Hell, I think he's one of the few killers who was massively changed during their PTB.
I don't think moonwalking and Frank's Mixtape was discovered until after Legion went live either, but I could be wrong...
Hmmm, I do seem to recall that vaguely.
I also remember how Ghostface has been weak since his release.
It's also been a very very long time since that PTB that I didn't play. Forgive me for not remember every change.

A player knowing that they lost because of the advantages of a SWF or that they played against a really good bunch of random solo's can affect their progression in the game in learning how to play and adapt.
I hear lower ranked SWFs tend to be ultra altruistic which is why they lose matches.
Very odd in two games this happened.
Why BHVR don't make it easier for everyone by showing this endgame is beyond me
It's been a long time since I was a new player trying to learn. It's completely possible that I'm too far removed from that to understand that.
To my eyes, it doesn't matter. SWF or not, I always think every game is winnable for me. Plus, a lot of times to me, it's painfully obvious if people are playing together. I don't need to message them to find out.

I used to think it was skill, you know like a football player reaching his level but because the level leap was so huge ...
It was like walking through a maze and one team then having a map in their hand.
I honestly can only think that people who play in SWFs must think they would be ashamed maybe ridiculed?
Even this post for example, nobody is admitting they are in a SWF and why they don't say anything.
@Pulsar has said he would lie but didn't give a reason nor if he played in a SWF
They wouldn't believe me even if I told the truth.
Likewise, it depends on their attitude. If someone comes right at me accusing me of being in a SWF, they're usually salty and I'll lie and then ignore them. Let 'em cool off.
