I've been trying to rely on Victor's pounce more but what I don't like about it is I have a hard time finding the person he is attached to/they seem to always detach before I can find them.
Also, does Victor have a terror radius? I would assume so, but not having gone up against them a whole lot I just wanted to be sure...(and can he be blinded?)

yeah, but teabagging at the exitgate is basicly throwing over the monopoly board, even though you won. that is not disrespectfull in my eys.
Hm...I guess to you and me teabagging means different things. To me, when someone teabags me, it's like a "######### you," not a mini-tantrum.

Every joke is offensive to somebody if you want to see it that way.
I'm just saying, there's some things you just don't joke about, because it's disrespectful. I was just trying to put into a comparison you might understand better than, "It's jus a game."

Yes. And wait for next patch (chapter) to see if your penalty is still there after the update.
Do you know when that will be?
-
I've decided to let myself tunnel if it's their third hook and they've had a decent chase. At least let them play the game for a little while.

I do it to wind people up, because it will normally throw people off their game. As for the exit gates twerks, I just like being antagonistic, but in good fun. DBD is just a game to me, so I don’t get mad at anyone who hits me on hook or t-bags anywhere, so I hope people move on from it as well.
It may just be good fun to you, but it's extremely disrespectful to other players. Just a game? Yes. But a joke is just a joke that can be funny to some but extremely offensive to others. Do you get what I mean?
-
Oh, also when I play Ghostface I like to hum the Mission Impossible theme song while I stalk.
-
I've t-bagged to thank my teammates/the killer.
And I'll teabag the hell out of a teammate who won't move out of the way of the exit gate switch when the killer is coming, which surprisingly, does not help.

How's everyone else doing?
70.

I remember it used to happen all the time. Now I can't remember the last time I actually hit someone as they were dropping a pallet and it counted as a hit.
-
So obvious but DH.
-
I actually notice it a lot with different survivors. For example, if I see a Scoops Ahoy Steve I'm like, "Oh boy, here's comes another t-bagging jackass."
As far as killers go, I definitely feel more playful with Trickster and like a mofo beast with Nemesis.

Let's get it summarised:
Goes up - consecutive DCs during one week.
Goes down - playing trials without DCs or waiting (penalty time + up to 7 days).
Also possible reset during major patches (next chapter).
Okay so I am good if I wait a week and then play again? I just dont want to try tonplay immediately after my penalty time is over and disconnect on that first match to find myself with an even heftier penalty.
-
Wait, now I'm confused again, because once again I'm getting two different answers.
@Bennett_They1Them said:

both.
it goes up for consecutive DCs. (or sometimes randomly)
it goes down over time without DC'ing.
You say it's both.
@RoaderFrost said:
I found info that DC penalties stack up for every disconnect during the week.
Also penalty level drops for playing without disconnecting but not for time spent. It's about number of trials played without DC.
I personally never gone so far (72).
I suspect that penalty can reset back to 5 min after next patch (still need confirmation).
But you are saying it is for number of trials only if im understanding you correctly?
Does anybody know for sure the right answer?

lots of people use victor for snowballing by getting injured states using charlotte, and then switching to victor. this forces slugging, but generates a lot of pressure.
what I generally do, is to walk charlotte to an area, and then send out victor to scout. once I secure a pounce, I'll go ambush the injured survivor, or I'll go ambush someone highlighted by killer instinct.
at loops, you can use victor and charlotte to set traps by looping and switching between the two for surprise attacks.
as far as I can tell, my playstyle isn't the most popular one among twins players, but I have a lot of fun with it. it may not be as glamourous as crossmap pounces, but it works for me, and it's a blast. a lot of the time, I just play them as a tag team and play it by ear.
also, if you want to get victor downs, slowing down healing is a must because otherwise, people will heal downed survivors before you can go pick them up.
@PixelBush also as some guides on YouTube. (here's the first one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE3CuWn5LeU)
let me know if there's any other way I can help.
Awesome, I'll try em out! The loop thing sounds really cool cause I'm really tired of spending half the game getting looped so thats a really good idea! Thank you!
-
It would be really cool to not bully new people on the forum, too.
-
So if I just don't play for awhile I should be fine? I have a 72-hour penalty right now (network issues) and I'm hoping that taking a week off will let the penalty lower so that it doesn't get any higher the next time I have to d/c. However someone mentioned that playtime was a factor. So it shouldn't matter if I don't play the game so long without disconnecting online, as long as I don't play so long offline?
-
I dont know why I play the twins. Well, I let my little cousin pick out a character and thats who she chose so thats really why O play them. I like using Viktor for his stealth to hunt them down then use the other one to come find them. It might not be the most effective use of them actually.

I think just the basecharacters +the free DLC we got on console is good enough to get someone hooked.
I think so too.

@lauraa said:
I would have never touched DBD if it weren't "free" on Gamepass.
I never would have spent money on DLC for sure.
Having Jake, Feng, Claud etc. For free kept me busy for a good while, and since I never sunk money in I didnt mind picking up a couple of paid characters to expand my teachable collection
This is exactly how I have found the game.
Would the characters all be free as well, or would you need to buy them so that BHVR makes at least some money?
-
I've only seen the trailer but the beginning looks really really cool. I'm not sure about the gameplay yet, I'll have to watch more videos to decide. Are the killers just like random monsters? One thing I really like about DBD is that some of the killers come from actual horror franchises. I'd like to see another game do that, but with more of an indie horror focus.

My first match after my 48-hour ban as Pinhead, bring streamers, disconnected. 72-hour ban. I hate my life. Log on to friends account. Still not a single disconnect. I dont ######### get it.
-
I hate when I make it very obvious I'm letting you through the exit gates without attacking you and you still feel the need to teabag me.
-
Just played trial against Pinhead where it was so obvious I was going to lose that I just decided to run in circles around a tree to escape the chains. Pinhead eventually found me like that, watched for a minute, then took a couple swings at me to knock me down. Having already given up, I didn't struggle, although he gives me an eternity to as he takes me on a tour of the entire match to find the hatch, which he then let's me have! I'm still cracking up about it.
-
If I come a step closer to completing my goal (tome/daily objective) then I'll chalk it up as a win.

My pleasure.
I really do hope that you manage to get this sorted. Let us know how things work out on the other account - maybe that'll help you narrow things down a bit.
Will do. And also, when I get my account back, I'm going to start keeping track of how many games I played vs. number of times I get banned to show you what "a lot" is!
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2658296#Comment_2658296
Sigh. Okay. Lets go point by point here.
- It's not '3% of the time'. If you are sitting at a DC penalty that significant, you'd have to be DCing in a significant number of games. If you were playing games from start to finish, the penalty would have declined rapidly. People DC a lot in this game without anything longer than a 5-15 minute penalty.
- Your relationship analogy doesn't work at all.
- Again, the issue isn't when you DC here. It's the frequency.
- I have no idea what the issue is, and there is no way for me to know. You are going to have to diagnose it. I know that when I was living in Japan, playing World of Warcraft on my old server made it impossible for me to raid with my friends. I would never have expected them to bring me along to our progression raids and just carry me through 500ms lag and constant DCs.
- Maybe try a VPN? Windscribe and Nord all have free options that will allow you to test it.
I like you. I like your firm but not horrendously snide honesty. My friend said I could use their account. So crisis averted. Mods can close this now please.

My dude. Have you considered just... not playing? Like instead of rage quit DCing just like, stop touching buttons. Minimize the game, go to the bathroom, get water. ######### on the hook. The only times I DC from rage quitting are like moments when I've been playing a long time, realize I'm tilting and want to be spiteful to a basement bubba. Then I realize I'm taking it too seriously and do other things. That maybe happens once a month? If that? There are non punished options to exit a game early you know?
Your right bro. Just solved all my problems. Thanks man.

I think you're misunderstanding me.
I'm not trying to be harsh - but I am being honest.
'Purposefully' doesn't really come into it.
By playing a game like this where 4 other people (3 survivors, 1 killer) are depending on you to remain connected and try your best knowing that you have an unstable connection is really inconsiderate. Whether or not you are DCing intentionally or unintentionally is somewhat immaterial - if you are DCing that much you are ruining game after game after game.
And that has to stop.
Fix your internet. If you can't, then I'm sorry to say that you may have to play something else.
And no - I don't think they 'understand what happened'. To them, it's probably incredibly frustrating.
If I can play a game i absolutely love and am obsessed with 97% of the time, know that it will most likely work then I'm sorry but I'm not going to give it up over that 3% chance of failure. Would you give up a relationship where 3% of the time you fought?
As far as most people understanding I guess we won't know an answer unless we take a poll on that one. I feel like if a player disconnects after a down, obvious purposeful disconnect. Out of nowhere? Its there internet.
And once again, how can it be my internet when I have the best in my internet and literally every other game and streaming service works fine?

You are not getting a 24 hour ban for 3-4 disconnects in isolation.
Either you are quitting matches, or your internet has been acting up for a long time.
I've actually never even heard of a ban that long.
Either way - yeah. The reality of the situation is that, if it's really your internet, you are going to have to fix that problem before playing online games. It's simply not fair to the dozens of other players you are ruining matches for.
Its not 3-4 times in one week and thats it. Its weekly. As in multiple times. As in yes this has been an on going problem. As in yes the very first ban I got was 2 or 3 minutes. But I've been playing for a total of 29 days and 13 hours, and thats how high my bans have got, without disconnecting purposely and without disconnecting more than 5 times weekly.
I am not purposely ruining matches for dozens of other players and its not fair to say that. It is just a game, most people who realize the situation understand what happened.

@ReikoMori said:

Your ban only decreases in scale over time. It doesn't cap out and then go away when you do the time. Stop dcing, a 24hr and 48hr ban means you're dcing way more than you would if your net was bad. You're purposely leaving games at that high of a penalty.
I've purposely left a game one time, because my controller wasn't working, and I didn't even know you could be banned when I did that.
Plus, WHY would I do that?
-
My cousin has an account with the same internet. Never been disconnected. But he's a new player. I've been playing a while. And I only get disconnected when I'm the killer. It's weird.
-
@DaWeezerd said:

Internet issue is still as bad as DC'ing on purpose. Get better internet before you play any game that requires internet.
I have the best internet in my area. I can play any other game fine. I can stream fine. I can play DBD for 3-4 days straight no problem. Then, for some reason, I'll randomly get kicked off 3-4 times. I'm still connected to the net. Everything else is still fine. I don't understand the problem.
-
@themoobs1984 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/296340/48-hour-ban-a-short-rant
Quit disconnecting. Simple solution. You must dc alot to get that severe of a ban.
It's an automatic disconnect. I'm not purposefully doing it, or I wouldn't be in here complaining.
People don't understand the ban system. They think "A LOT," when "A LOT" is 3-4 times consecutively.
-
Thanks, I'll check 'em out!

I mean, I feel like it's like telling a painter to start painting something they're not already in love with painting, but sure, why not.
