So in a very specific 1v1 scenario, where the killer wants to run the time down instead of killing you, it's possible. Got it.

And what? Killers get a free pass on calling every person who plays survivor on here a "clicky clicky teabagger" and other childish insults, accuse them of playing to a meta always and assume they just gen-rush

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/571/MMT2B1O4PNMV.png

Chill dude. This is not relevant is the slightest

but as soon as you say otherwise it's "Don't play THAT card!"

    Let's read what I said...

How many people run it is irrelevant. It's not a play that needs any coordination at all besides "about to finish the gen...done". Hell, you don't even need to be in a swf to do it. So don't even try to play that card.

OH, look at that. Not a single mention of "clicky clicky survivors" or similar.

Hmmm... I wonder what this "card" I mentioned is... could it be the fact that I said adrenaline plays require absolutely no coordination? But that would only make sense if you said it required 🤔

If you and all your teammates have it, and can play around it, then GOOD ON YOU! You have devoted yourself to a strategy that might work or might have a remote chance of existing

    OH...look at that... you did...😑

    Please pay attention...

I also never mentioned SWF, so stop using that strawman and twisting my words. It's getting old.

I Know you didn't mention it. And I didn't say you did.

I brought it up because I wanted to bring attention to the fact you don't need to be in a swf to make adrenaline plays.

    Again... pay attention.

I do pay attention. YOU brought up SWF when I didn't. I said "If you can coordinate them with your team".

The "clicky teabaggers" thing is that it feels like killers especially on here resort to that kind of mentality and insult to shut down arguments, rather than actually countering points. It'a just one example of what they use. I'm under a lot of stress lately because of COVID-19 and work, and have been lashing out at people in frustration. Don't take it personally.

EGC kills can happen in a variety of ways too. I suggest watching the CowsIAm video on Blood Warden. I even had a game last night where Zarina ran to the other side of the map to avoid me and never touched a door after I closed the hatch. And of course, those killers I mentioned last time.

  • Pig. She just needs a few number changes in everything but the RBT's and she'd be top tier viable.

No need for RS.2 base, which I have explained before why it's a bad idea. No need for RNG adjustments, just a few QoL changes and boosts.

And a total add-on rework. Bar a few decent ones. All of about 8 of them.

Yeah? When? Which killer can actually trap people the entire egc time? Excluding of course the times the survivors screw up horribly.

    This is not a thing

How many people run it is irrelevant. It's not a play that needs any coordination at all besides "about to finish the gen...done". Hell, you don't even need to be in a swf to do it. So don't even try to play that card.

When? When i get a stupid tunnelling and camping killer who finds the hatch first, and the timer's getting low. I have time to escape, but of COURSE they grab at the last second and drag you back, not bothering to hook you for the 30 seconds of timer left when they could ha e hooked you in 5. THOSE killers.

And what? Killers get a free pass on calling every person who plays survivor on here a "clicky clicky teabagger" and other childish insults, accuse them of playing to a meta always and assume they just gen-rush, but as soon as you say otherwise it's "Don't play THAT card!"

Are you talking as though Dying Light is in any way a good perk for killer? It’s awful. It’s really really bad. It helps the survivors.

When I use it, I also have Thanataphobia and Sloppy Butcher. I admit it isn't great, but I use it for the psychological aspect.

And for both if you, I've seen more free kills from NoED than people dying to EGC, and that's during the lifespan of EGC, not including the times before. I class NoED as free kill(s) because it requires no input from the killer to activate, has no warning when activated, only on first hit and has the single most powerful status effect in the entire game with zero timer.

Of course you saw more noed kills than egc kills...Who the hell dies to egc?

Everyone 99% the gates, and then they open and leave in 5 seconds or they wait at the gate because they can't leave without the killer looking at them.

Now compare this to Adrenaline. Endgame starts, and you heal a state and gain the Sprint Burst effect. That's it. You could be full health and stealthing or in a locker. You have now lost the effect entirely.

And look, the team had 2 injured and 1 downed survivor, now they are healed and running.

Because obviously, a single adrenaline is the issue here, not the full team heal

People who get trapped with particular killers who make them wait out the EGC timer, or give themselves up freely.

And not everyone runs Adrenaline. I personally hate it because it's a single use and relies in endgame. If you and all your teammates have it, and can play around it, then GOOD ON YOU! You have devoted yourself to a strategy that might work or might have a remote chance of existing.

I was with you until you said NoEd is a guaranteed victory. First, survivors can do totems and make it USELESS. Second, even if it is up, it doesnt make it an auto win. You might be faster and have insta down, but if it's more than 1 or 2 people in game, theyll likely search for totem, or even just BT save and DS.

NoEd is never guaranteed. Let alone guaranteed a victory.

It's more of a "compared to" thing. And I hate being the one punished because my team can't carry their own weight and do bones themselves.

Object users do not care if they can be seen, the killers do.

Noed isn't a guaranteed victory, do bones.

Object users are normally in a 4-man SWF with comms. And I normally do 2-4 bones, without Small Game or any other methods of totem hiding. Stop hiding behind bad perk design.

NOED a guarantee victory ? It's not even a guarantee kill at least half of the time from what I've seen.

And for both if you, I've seen more free kills from NoED than people dying to EGC, and that's during the lifespan of EGC, not including the times before. I can agree on the basement one since that's out of your control. Dc's should count towards it while IMO the others are not that bad.

You only have to be on the gens when they go off for the dark sense one so as long as you're always with someone using a perk like bond, you should be alright. It took me I think 4 games and of those I failed I still had 3 gens done. It might take some games but it's very doable.

Noed EGC is actually pretty easy. Just throw on Blood Warden along with NOED, slug someone after gens are done, open gates and you're all set. If you get potatoes, just two hook everyone and mess around until they eventually get the gens done and then it's even easier.

As far as the OP goes, you could try using a slowdown Freddy build. Thana, Dying Light, Pop and maybe Surveillance/Discordance. Use jump rope and swing chains as add-ons and that should give you plenty of slowdown so you can focus on ending the game as quick as possible. Bring an Ebony if you want as well and just keep going until you get it.

You could also try someone like Oni or Billy and use a slugging build. Doctor can slug pretty good as well since people can't heal in tier 3 madness.

NoED isn't difficult mechanically, especially since I specialise in a slowdown game, currently at lower ranks than usual and can play without "meta" builds, but it's more difficult on a personal level as I despise the perk in its entirety. It's why I mentioned lowering my standards.

As for Dark Sense, gens do seem to fly out of my control, AND I have Bond in one of my builds.

  • These "people" probably only care about the concept I call "Mer Fer Keh", or just only playing to either ruin someone's day or strictly for 4k games.

They do not care about skill, learning, or the hunt. They are more braindead than an IRL Leatherface and exist soley to annoy others and drive them away from the game. They do not play survivor either, usually due to not holding a majority of the power or not being able to ruin games for people with a few button presses.

As someone who plays both sides, I can both empathise and predict survivors more easily, since I know their struggles AND methods.

The hunt is the most thrilling part of this game. Whether it be stealthing around the killer, running them to the otherside id the map, only to lose them soon aftwr they realise, a well executed ambush or finally downing a skilled runner by sticking your blade between their shoulderblades. No I'm not a sadist, I'm a frustrated retail worker who loves horror movies.

If more people played both sides, this game would be better off in terms of balance AND community.

  • "Complete 4 generators while using the perk Dark Sense" yeah, uh, not gonna happen outside of a fully coordinated SWF squad, which a killer is gonna SWEAT ALL OVER.

"2 kills in ECG with NoED" so I'm just gonna lower my standards, and let people do their objective outside of a farming match. Great.

"Sacrifice 4 people in the basement. Must be done in the same match." So, lots of survivors will just DC when they see a basement. You'll also have to basically camp it, and people, myself included even as killer, despise doing that.

This is why I put forward the idea to skip the challenges for a cost and not receive any rewards.

Mettle of man, gives killer free aura reeding. And to activate this perk, you need to get injured multible times.

And you now have to take PROTECTION now for it. They're pretty rare and kinda bugged as.

  • So, Object of Obsession literally giving the killer information too, and free aura reading if they have undetectable isn't a downside?

Sole Survivor requiring OTHER SURVIVORS to literally be killed off to stop only aura readings isn't a downside either?

Killer Obsession perks, I can understand with their survivor benefits, such as Rancor, but their effects are in essence, freaking huge. Dying Light could have a slight number increase, but it does eat away at survivors slowly. Remember Me can also be game changing in ECG if you can stall.

As for Adrenaline it is a ONCE PER GAME effect that only tiggered DURING ENDGAME. What more restrictions are needed? It's not a guaranteed victory, unlike NoED.

I've said similar things before too. I don't bring items because I a) don't think I need them b) don't want to use them against a Franklin's Demise and c) know that they tend to aggrovate certain killers

Not enitrely true. Surveillance is also better at T1. MYC is also better at T1 for certain high-mobility Killers due to being able to proc more often

How is a lower Surveillance tier better? The increased time on the yellow aura is way better to me, especially since Surveillance is (in my opinion) better than Discordance on stealth killers, with a possible exception of Myers.

  • In a gen-rush, survivors still feel unsatisfied since there was no chase, or threat. The killer also has a chance to recover throughout the endgame.

Slugging is worse since you're just sitting on the ground doing nothing waiting to be deleted or bleed out.

Bloodpoint gaines and saftey pips are also a factor here. Gen-rush can give both sides a black pip, if the killer gets some hooks and hits that aren't instant downs.

Slugging makes EVERYONE de-pip, with only the killer and maybe a lucky healer getting any chance to safety.

Yeah, and when we speak up, people immediately label us as "_____ main" based on whatever side our comment seemed to favor. It's unfortunate, because if people really did try both sides for a while, or even TRY to see how it is to play thay side, actual conversation and change can happen. But that's rare here...

Funny thing is that you also get a better sense of balance and work out that certain strategies are actually unhealthy for the game.

This game is pretty balanced for the most part, but could use a few small tweaks. And overhauls for some killers. The community just needs to stop rampantly exploiting certain perks.

  • @Carpemortum said:

Because most people on here play one side and assume EVERYONE is like that, and start with the side vs side crap when losing traction in an argument.

That is one thing I have noticed heavily on here. A thread will either be all agreeing with you, or just calling you trash and wrong.

To me, people who play both sides should have the most respect on here, but it seems like they are the most ignored.

  • They won't do that though. We all know that if they make him a 115% killer, he'll get a standard 32m TR.

Luckily he has big weaknesses but little strengths so he will be accepted by survivors just fine..the killer is a person who wants to win too

"Big" weaknesses that can be compensated for by perks.

And I know killers want to win, I play them too.

  • @NursesBootie said:

Slinger got insane chase potential but no map pressure. Just give him a short scoping animation and make him 115% for that one.

If they make him a 115% killer, then simply put, they'll bump up his TR and then have to either lengthen the chain to compensate, or nobody will actually get a harpoon any time soon.

    It's currently an 18m shot, with a 24m base TR, 16m with M&A.

Sorry, I couldn't resist pointing out that ackhtually it's green stripes.

One pedantic defense to note, I'm aware DbD's Freddy is from the remake, not the Wes Craven original Freddy movies, but the sweater colour isn't changed from what I know. In both portrayals the colour often looks black but I believe even Nancy Thompson in the original movies directly referred to the sweater as being red and green.

    #NotMyFreddy

And yes, in the originals it is red and green. It looks black depending on the lighting.

There is just no replacing Robert Englund as Freddy.

Then don't... "click, click, click" the flash light at the killer.. don't run aggressively around the map leaving tracks to lead "DIRECTLY TO YOU"... don't fast vault... play immersively.

Then the killer will be less likely to notice you and you won't get "deleted in a 10th of the game time".

JOKE'S ON YOU! I NEVER BRING ITEMS!

I play stealth until a chase, I don't know all the god-loops/infinets in the game, I don't run a meta build unless Self-Care and Botany Knowledge are now meta, and I DO NOT. EVER. ANNOY. THE KILLER. Unless they are easily triggered by half-decent running from a not total potato.

Why does every killer on here assume I'm one of "those" survivors?

So killers should feel guilty about trying to accomplish their objective as fast and efficiently as possible. Nice.

...........if you target me directly off hook, then YES. Like I said; intended purpose. I didn't spend twice as long in a lobby to be deleted in a 10th of the game time.

If it takes you two minutes to find a chase mid-game, the gens are done and everyone's escaped.

And not at Rank 15! Rank reset did a number to my killer, and I've been grinding Surv Archives.

  • @gatsby said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1184375#Comment_1184375

The ironic part is that getting DS'd pisses off Killers and makes them more likely to commit to you because you're injured and obviously not on first hook.

As someone who uses it purely for an anti-tunnel purpose, I feel like killers have themselves to blame for this one.

Part of the reason I never tunnel deliberately. If it's been 2 minutes, and you're the only one I find, too bad. You had your chance.

  • A GOOD headset is nothing to be ignored, and you WILL struggle in your first couple of games. Persistence and practice are key.

Don't get too attached to any perks either, since a killer could quite easily counter it with their power or it may not work with a killer's power/kit.

The tutorials will also teach you the MECHANICAL side of the game, which is all of about 20%. You will need to learn how to interpret information and mindgames on your own.

As a pc player, i ensure you, you can quickscope survivors. Every good deathslinger does this.

This is also why i think we should split PC and Console here. Both have often different problems for example mechanics, controles and even servers.

The divide only really affects Huntress, Nurse and Deathslinger.

Plague can always wiggle her spray, but admittedly not the same way as PC.

  • @xEa said:

Sorry for the bad news, but i am not sure if he can stay the way is is right now. Quickscoping in dead by dayight... which genius had that smart idea?

So, even if they dont give him more map pressure (which would be a shame!), they have to change his ability in order to give the survivors ANY form of counterplay. All i say is Legion 1.0.

As a console player, I have no idea what you're on about. I haven't seen a single quickscope Deathslinger

  • Just take your level of chill game-by-game or play some survivor for a bit. Change things up. Make an alternate account and play around with less powerful perks.

  • I think he's fine.

Fantastic in a chase, slightly lacking outside.

We need more killers who's strengths are big, but so are their weaknesses to compensate.

It is hard to believe in 100%. My experience, including what I see in spectator mode and on youtube, shows opposite.

If you are red rank survivor (assuming you have years of experience) -- yes, you have played this game a lot, you know where the pallets are and you have a plan for a loop; and you probably can survive and win.

To me, this is same situation like it was with old HEX: Ruin, when red ranks have no problem hitting skill checks,

but less experienced people were annoyed with that. I hoped doctor is going to be eventually nerfed and free the place

    for other killers.

I am glad doctor is not the most popular atm, but sometimes I see 2 or 3 different doctors in a row.

I've only hit red once, which was last season, and played since Darkness Among Us. I also play this game pretty casually and don't care to memorise all the loops and all that.

However, playing Doctor between both iterrations, as and against, all I can say is that even with his ability to cancel vaults and pallet drops, he has ZERO mobility options. A decent loop against a killer like Spirit or Nurse is the bane of a Doctor. This probably has something to do with his popularity, or a decent contributing factor.

I am a Pig main, but Doctor is probably my second most pkayed killer. His shock therapy is actually easy to avoid if you notice the visual/audio queues. Static Blast is also countered by lockers. You just need to practoce against him some more and you'll be fine.

It always confuses me when someone, upon being told that they're acting really immature, says something to the effect of "well I'm actually an adult". Like... you're not doing yourself any favours by saying that. At least if you were a twelve-year-old, you'd have an excuse for acting like one.

People are just as immature irl.

I work in liquor retail and have done so for almost 5 years now, stand at about 6'6" and decently built. I get skinny little 18yro 5"5" girls yelling at me because THEIR ID is 3 months expired and I can't use it. People yell at me that "MY DATE OF BIRTH IS ON THERE, IT SHOULDN'T MATTER!" well, it kinda does because it's my career and fines large enough to buy a new car. But they don't care because it doesn't benefit them.

People are just more blatant with it online because of the anonymity of the internet. If it doesn't benefit them, then they will either ignore it or complain that it doesn't help them.

  • And people wonder why I rate Surveillance so highly................

The amount of times I've caught some idiots off-guard wkth this perk is astounding.

the game's called dead by daylight. you're supposed to die sometimes.

When it's two months straight through various mori's, tryhards, campers, tunnellers and shoddy matchmaking then people can voice their frustrations.

I'm with @LALYTHIA on this one. We're here to play Dead by Daylight. Not Lobby Simulator.

  • I've only used Cypress or Ivory for a daily of "Get a kill with X Killer by your hands", since I don't have Devour Hope or Rancor on a majority of my killers, and don't like trying to rely on those kind of effects.

  • Then they clearly are more braindead than your average Hag player (the kind that puts at least 3 traps at a hook and camps nearby) and should simply be ignored.

  • Doctor can be 100% countered by a pallet or a window.

He is also a Pressure Killer, meaming that you are meant to dislike going against him BY DESIGN. He's ALWAYS meant to be there.

He does have tracking, but there's also an issue to be had from the Doctor player: if I zap 3 people with Static Blast, which one do I pursue?

Also, by giving up the way you do, you are actively sabotaging the rest of your team. Stick around, try to counter him. When you see his hand wave down, jump to a side where possible.

The answer is all above, not gonna repeat the same to ppl who won't read the entire story. In nutshell, yes. That rank 1 has nothing to do in a rank 17 match. Imagne playing Siege in bronze while the enemy team magically has a diamond player. That's what this is.

The Siege scenario is literally called "Quick Play".

This issue also works for the killer's side. Rank 1 Wraith, with pink clapper and purple Windstorm demolishing a team of Ranks 8,9,9,16 is just "normal gameplay".

  • Yeah, as an Xbox player I feel this. Then again, I have to fight with Aus NBN. My FAVOURITE part of all these is how I stand at the window for a full second and look like an idiot as Spirit's glass sword now occupies the space between my shoulderblades.

I'm still going to request matchmaking fixes first, or a way to tell the rank of everyone, and I mean EVERYONE who's in the lobby, as I have literally just finished a game (at time of post) with a Rank 1 Wraith (with the meta works!) going against Ranks 8,9,9,16. This is beyond a joke now. I'm geting Brown ranks while I'm High-Green/Low-Purple, stuck here because of all the bad matchmaking and campers/tunnellers.

  • @Booper_Of_Snoot said:

Billy and spirit. They feel like they have no counterplay sometimes, and I often find them slugging and tunneling the hardest, making games unnecessarily long or short and just find it extremely unfun to go against.

I survivor main and I won't even disagree. I play no-kill killer games where I intentionally let everyone live to see if I can pip and will get a "ggez" type commentary at the end and I just stare at it like... I hope so. If you die when I'm not even trying to kill you, you are really really bad at this game 😂

I get the same commentary from killers too although you know it's coming because it's inevitably the guy who camped, tunneled, and slugged his way to victory.

    I get what you mean.

I've had games where I've just been tunnelled and camped out, gone to the killer and said "Hey, could you NOT play like a piece of trash and show me the respect I showed you by not doing all the survivor annoying things?" only to get called salty and that they payed money for the game so they can play how they want.

I thought this game was rated Adult/Mature, but it feels like lately there's more kids than in Call of Duty stereotypes.

Teammate who just follows me around. He can be my shield.

Would you rather play killer and get a 4k but no pip and less than 12k blood points or play killer where all 4 escape but you pip and earn 25k blood points.

25k bloodpoints, and the learnng experience plz.

Would you rather Michael's heavy breathing in your ear all game, or Ghostface acting like a Skyrim thief all game (crouch and Nighshroud when spotted. Only attacking in stealth).

Michael isn't going to hit/grab you all game, just breathing. Over your shoulder. Watching you.

Kinda don't have better perks, and all these are level 1. And I've played him in lower ranks. Last reset teally hurt me and put my killer back to Rank 17, I'm back to 14 now.

Oh lord my friend keep it that way. Its hell up here. HELLL

I got to red as Surv last season. I hated it. Got to rank 8 as killer in a previpus season. It wasn't great.

I think I see that it’s EZ 4Ks quite frequently people still think this games survivor sided 🤔 all they gotta do is capitalize on survivor mistakes which don’t require much other than spawning in next to the killer. Survivors fault right? Right. Blame it on him for not having a Vigo’s Shroud. Blame it on survivors for poor hit detection that it’s possible to go through vaults, get both feet on the other side, take a few steps and get smacked only to turn around and see the killer behind the vault you went through 🤷‍♂️ Why should the killer need to vault or go around to get that down? He shouldn’t right? Right. Of course not. But Blame your survivors buddies for going down because lag rubberbanded him into his death, blame survivors for going down when there’s an extreme lack of hiding Bc of knee high crates and paper thin walls and trees on some of these maps as well as just blatantly obvious locker locations. I think there should be multiple adjacent hiding spots everywhere.

the game is definitely killer sided. thats not to say you cant win or its hard to win but slugging isnt necessary at all. well slugging for a 4k isnt. slugging to get ppl off gens yea but every single game now its slugging the last two cause killers feel like we shouldnt get hatch which is just another way of taking over the game to try and control the outcome. its so stupid. if i cant get the doors open ill waste the entire time lol so you cant hook me and the entity gets me.

This game is actually pretty balanced statistically, but it also has a glaring issue of the landslide statistic. It's generally a 4k, or 0-1k.

Either survivors just rush the killer out of the game, or they all just die. There isn't much of a middle ground in general and not enough to call this game "sided" or "favoured" by any means.

They most certainly do not do that anyway. It is not uncommon for a Survivor wearing an inactive Trap to work on Generators until the timer does start. Not that I think this buff should happen anyways, but RBTs as they currently are do not do enough to dissuade stronger Survivors from working on gens anyways before working on the boxes.

They don't in my games, but then again I haven't hit red on killer.
