Every Killer has been solid for years now. Except for Trickster maybe. But since Plague, every Killer released can be considered B-Tier at least (except for Trickster).

"Every Killer has been solid for years now"

If they were all solid tier lists would be heavy B and A tier sided already <--which they aren't. If they were all solid Trapper wouldn't be getting buffs, nor plague, nor pig. If they were all solid 90% of the games pre SBMM wouldn't be full of the same 3 killers over and over again. If they were all solid, most killers games would be 10 minutes plus, not 5. If they were all solid, they wouldn't all be running gen slow down perks to make up for their ######### pressure and non existent 1v4s.

  • @Freddy96 said:

You get sweaty players only if you play sweaty in the first place.

I play without any gen slowdowns and i get sweaty teams once every 10 matches which i will lose against and i will get chill teams again

Not true. All it takes is 1 or 2 kills per game and your MMR will keep skyrocketing. This includes people killing themselves on hook, and noED kills.

  • @feffrey said:

A killer faces survivors in a one on one situation mainly and you shouldn't automatically win a 1v1 because you're playing killer

    If a killer can't effectively win a 1v1 then they can't win a 1v4 either.....

The Scream franchise is returning in January, 2022 with a new licensed release. With the rights acquired by Spyglass Media Group to make a new addition to the series, do you think this leaves a possibility for Ghostface to make a proper film chapter in DBD? Maybe including a map, and Sydney Prescott?

That said, here's the new trailer:

Nope. They only got a license for the likeness in the mask. They didn't get anything involving "Scream".

This shouldn't need to be a perk, but a base effect of killers being around a hooked survivor while not in chase. Make the hook timer slow up to 90% based on the killer's proximity to the hooked survivor.

Yea but the timer is paused, you are not gaining additional time.

So if you're not gaining time are you losing it?

Think about that for a minute....

  • @D3spair said:

Let's be honest here. Only newer players feel that the game is scary. I guarantee you 500 hrs players do not find the game scary anymore and just play for the thrill of being a chase simulator or playing a role that is much harder than all of FromSoft Games combined.

I at least want the game to be scary in higher or more experienced MMR Brackets. If you play something like Resident Evil 7, Alien Isolation and Silent Hill 2 & 3, I always find these game horrifying even when I finished them more than 5 times already.

With DBD Second Chance Perks are stacked multiple times per Survivors that Death/Losing is not big deal at all making the game an "Action Game" as quoted by Mathieu Cote in the Resident Evil Chapter reveal.

As for this game, theres no way to make it scary due to it being pretty much a moba/e-sport instead of a horror game. It just has a horror aesthetic. At its core its just another Apex legends etc. When you factor in the killer can only face 1 person at a time, then factor in the low risk of actually encountering the killer...yeah theres no real reason to be afraid because there is no risk. At the same time as a survivor you get fed tons of free information on where the killer is, what hexes the killer is using, what perks the killer is using, and what power the killer has because they're designed in a way thats a bit too predictable and simple. You factor all that in together, and honestly...you got maybe 48 hours to a weeks worth of gameplay before the aesthetic of horror fades and it becomes another queue up pvp game like league of legends etc.

Of course they could make it scary, but looks alone are not what it takes to make horror. Risk, relatability, and unpredictability are key factors. <- This game is missing all 3 at the moment and based on its current trajectory its only gonna get worse.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Every horror game eventually stops being scary at some point.

Depends on the risk factor. The lower you drop that bar and the lower you make that risk, and the lower your stress while playing, the less scary it is overall. When you start taking away a players ability to respond, and correct mistakes, you veer into horror and rogue territory. If you can't get a scream out of someone, if your game is solid enough you can get a desk slam instead. Either one works.

With static blast having a 50-60 second cooldown and it taking 28 seconds to cleanse the first totem doctor can still pull off defending totems with the new thrill.

The loss of the notification sucks but people are really underselling the buff to the action speed reduction.

By the time you realize your totem is being worked on its going to be gone. Either because you're in the middle of a chase or because you simply weren't around. Sure you could go around and check it every 20 seconds.....but while you're sitting there camping your hex you're not chasing people or protecting gens....you're actually setting yourself up to lose like this. The only reason that build worked before is because you could get the notification and react and head toward the hex. On top of that, you also never got a notification that they were on your thrill <-A gimmick nerfed long ago.

  • @Brokenbones said:

  • @Raccoon said:

Now that the notification on Thrill is gone, how can I defend my Hex perks?

Are there any other perks that can help out a Hex build?

You don't, all hex perks are dead next patch. Good thing theres other games out during that time so you can play something else till that garbage gets adjusted.

Three days later they quit and won't be coming back.

Every game they faced nothing but meta perk killers with their best add-ons. I went perkless when I played with them to make it more fair to the killers. They had never played before and didn't understand what Ruin meant or where it might be found etc.

To make it worse over two thirds of our/their matches were Pinhead. It got to a point where they would just dc every time we faced Pinhead because my friends had absolutely no chance against him.

Best part was that my friends didn't get to escape once. And believe me I tried everything I could to get them out.

So yeah, they won't be coming back and I have to continue playing in solo Q. This game is damn harsh on new players.

But SBMM is the best thing since sliced bread remember, it was supposed to match them with equal skilled players even after a rank reset.....oooooh right....all of that was BS....

This would be the BEST thing BEhaviour could do, making the game like this, true horror atmosphere, fluid/realist animations, realist environment, very good graphics (far better than realm beyond)

This fluid and true to the horror.

This is what the realm beyond and animation changes should have been like in the first place, a complete overall/redo of the game, give the praise to this amazing creation, showing us what dead by daylight could be, but also showing us what we will never have.

That would be great, but something like that requires passion and effort....

It will never happen that 4 No Mithers play against an Oni. I have seen 4 No Mithers exactly once in 6500 hours of playtime, against my Demo. And it was a 4 man David-SWF who just memed around.

You should probably play more hours then, its still an SWF staple build. And it would still delete a killers power. Its like having a perk that automatically removes pig head traps at the press of a button......just no....

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I would agree. But I am totally fine with keeping No Mither as a hardmode-Perk. However, there are a few things I would change:

    • Scrap the Recovery increase, it does nothing. Seriously, the Survivor has a big "Dont slug me"-Sign...
    • Injured Noise Reduction 100%. I dont know why they went for 75%, you cannot really get chased with No Mither, so you have to run Iron Will. This would at least remove the need of playing Iron Will when playing with No Mither.
    • Bonus-BPs (100%) in Boldness and Altruism. Boldness, because the players is actually bold for using No Mither and Altruism, because the Perk functions in a way that you become the target so that your friends can escape. I dont want 100% Bonus-BPs in total, this would be a nightmare with double BP-Events.
    • No Blood Orbs... This should be done anyway, yes, there is the possibility that there are 4 Survivors with No Mither and Oni cannot get his power, but if you get 4 No Mithers as Oni, you should play the lottery right afterwards...

Obviously it would not be a good Perk after that, but it would be better. And still hardmode.

I don't think its a good idea to ever give survivors perks that can completely delete a killers ability to use their power.

  • I don't care how great the xenomorph is, I don't wanna see another chapter of anything until they fix this damn game....

Balance issues all over the damn place, tons of bugs. I don't care if they added the Grudge tomorrow, I wouldn't buy it till I can see actual large patches that fix the game...

  • @TMNoThumbs said:

I would quit the game, that would give survivors 4 extra perk slots as a team. No thanks.

Could always adjust and nerf numbers for survivor perks after the fact to reel things in.

Well, elaborate, what gimmicky plays are you thinking of?

Deadly Oblivious: Hex Plaything, Hex Haunted Ground, Eruption, Trail of Torment, Overcharge.

ThunderFoot: Brutal Strength ,Pop Goes the weasel, Unnerving Presence, Overcharge, Eruption.

Entity Blocked: Corrupt Intervention, Deadlock, Thrilling Tremors, Tinkerer, Ruin.

Basement Weirdo: Territorial Imperative, Monsterous Shrine, Insideous, Iron Grasp, Starstruck.

I'm Legally Blind Legion: Infectious Fright, Hysteria, Knock out, Hex Third Seal, Undying.

Cancer Patient Plague: Thano, Infectious Fright, Hysteria, Blood Echo, Forced Penance.

Etc etc etc list goes on.

The amount of perks available doesn't match the amount of builds available on either survivor or killer side. So when you only have so many options people only choose the strongest singular options instead of actual full on builds. Which means a lot of "useless" perks never see any play, cause in order to use them you need like 3 other perks that synergize together to make something actually useful.

  • @Boss said:

    I would...

Wonder how 5 Hex Perks including Hex: Haunted Ground would work.

well they won't work at all pretty soon here with the introduction of boon totems so you can kiss that dream goodbye.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    More slowdown.

Also, are the builds you referring to relying on "bad" Perks that could perhaps be improved to facilitate these combos using only 4 Perks?

Exactly this. Theres a lot of sick status effect and gimmick play that could be enhanced, but with only 4 perks available, you fall short 1 slot every time.

  • @SlothGirly said:

After reading a post on somebody wanting Pig nerfed because of Plaything, I did some testing. As it turns out, if you have the Facemask addon, the blindness will trump the aura reading from Plaything. And so will have no indication of where their totem is aside from having a direct line of sight.

Do with this information as you please. But I recommend abusing Plaything with Facemask and Tampered Timer. The pressure they'll feel is immense.

    Pressure? ehhhh....no.....sorry.

The thing about this combo is it will do nothing to survivors who already rush to get their mask off. I mean sure, its gonna screw up their team for a while. But ehhhh.... it literally just forces survivors to rush to a box and cleanse.....they already do that.

  • @HealsBadMan said:

Please, this is almost as bad as people wanting to nerf Hoarder or Pinhead bc they have great synergy. Face Mask isn't even that good of an addon on Pig, using it in conjunction with Plaything is great but not nearly warranting a nerf of either Killer or perk. Besides, it sounds like Piggy is doing the responsible thing and making sure everyone is wearing a face mask.

Pigs kit has always been anti tunnel. But if people enjoy getting tunneled and camped I dunno what to say....

  • @GannTM said:

I've been running this on Spirit lately and I think it's actually a very strong combo that could work well on a lot of killers. It's Hex: Retribution + Hex: Plaything. This does come with the risk of getting Retribution cleansed early in the game but it still has the potential to give you 50 seconds of aura reading if you hook all the survivors and they go for their Plaything totems.

Even if it's not the strongest combo, it still offers variety. I'm sure we're sick of seeing Ruin Undying Pop Tinkerer every game so give this combo a shot.

if only spirit could read auras during phase, that would be a disgustingly good combo.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Hot take: Nobody would play a 2v6 or 2v8 mode after a very short amount of time.

Solo Survivors wont play it at all. Why should you risk to play with 5 or even 7 players who dont know what they are doing, when playing with 3 is already too annoying? So, there will be many SWFs playing this mode.

And Killers are already bitching about SWFs, but they will probably go against SWFs all the time.

Let alone that you need to balance it so that two Killers cannot break the game by any way. And again - players are already complaining about 1 gamemode, what will happen if there are more than one gamemode?

Last but not least - the reason why there are only 2 Zombies was because more might be problematic, because too many entities are in the Trial. This is 7 at max (4 Surivors, Nemesis, 2 Zombies). In 2v6 you would have 8. In 2v8 10 entities. +2 for a potential Nemesis.

Do you want to kill last Gen Consoles immediatly?

Theres no problem with last gen consoles, both hardware and software wise, the PS4 and Xbox outperform most peoples modern hardware. No excuse for why this game does poorly on those consoles.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

Cause the support for another game mode would be terrible

Plus all of the changes that will need to happen would take to much time on their "tight" schedule

Also making new content is more important then adding another game mode

And they would need to add a Competitive game mode first before 2V6-8

The default game is already in a competitive game mode. That was the whole point of SBMM.

Opens an avenue for them to explore new game mechanics in a safer environment. Currently if they have a mechanic to introduce baseline they might end up breaking the only game mode they have. However add an alt rotation game modes and you can test upcoming perk ideas new mechanics in a safe experimental environment. Best of all gives players something fresh and new to play around with generating hype for upcoming chapters whilst also allowing them to dodge pitfall they would have made had the alt game mode not tested the water's.

Actually brilliant idea. So much so that Grinding Gear Games are pretty much doing the same thing with their core game in path of exile by introducing basically a nightmare mode. To test ideas on a larger scale without disrupting the main game because this new mode is set up to be nightmarish on purpose. It'll be like their 5th or 6th game mode they're adding on top of an upcoming sequel.

But ummm...yeah as brilliant as that does sound, it requires effort. 5 Years since this games launch we haven't even seen so much as a hint of a new mode nor any interest under the excuse that it will hurt queue times and etc. Same time, theres upwards of 60,000 people playing this game at any given time just on steam alone with a max player cap per match of 5....we aren't short on players by any means. So all that "I can't find a game!" stuff is bullshit.....you can make what you got work with what you got. Problem is with as heavy as they try to make this an E-sport they'd have to revamp everything to make it more casual to actually get a broader pull of players for matches. Drop the ranks and fix the core game fundamentals that allow good play no matter how trash you are at this game and suddenly you got more access to broadening the game for your audience. Cause at that point you can add more power, more objectives, more co-operative opportunities, less excuses for not allowing in game communication for survivors, larger maps, different objectives, more rewards per match and way more thematic content as a whole without your player base raging all the time because XYZ is "Imbalanced". If someone can notice something is imbalanced its because the rest of your game isn't fun enough to draw their attention away from a mistake. Remember Haste Hunters in WoW? Some do....most have no idea ######### I'm even talking about or how broken it was because they were having plenty of fun and doing just fine on characters who aren't Horde Troll Hunters....they got patched and nerfed....did anyone care including the people using it? Nope....cause the rest of the game had plenty of other fun options so you wouldn't care.

As it stands right now its just a big hamstring thats gonna eventually churn people out till they lose patience and do something else. Like Civ 6 or whatever that meme is....

  • @Jarol said:

I was seeing a question about this related and they always say that it is not in the plans for now but always in the future, I also wonder why they do not consider adding a fast mode and a competitive mode, currently dead by daylight today is a mode competitive, are you in a ######### war or playing a game like someone here on the forum said.

At the same time, the community also demands a way to play against bots by choosing your favorite survivor or killer.

A 2v6 or 2v8 mode as many speak.

They always leave it in the future but now I realize that this game is very unbalanced or outdated, both because it does not have game modes such as balancing in games by survivors, killers or perks.

Perhaps there is a future to do it if they dedicate themselves to doing it now, because if they do not comply, there will be no future for dead by daylight.

    That would require effort.....

  • "We're concerned about adding dances to the game that could give survivors an advantage in communication over the killer"

    SWF exists.

^ bruh.....Think about that statement for a minute seriously....

  • @tennmio said:

So everyone that plays killer, what are you doing in the following situation and why: The survivors let someone of the team get to 2nd status. Would you punish them for this behaviour (that is what I prefer to do if I see it) or do you camp the hook so the survivor gets 1 hooked.

What are your reasons for whatever decision?

I play ethically usually. So when I see I usually take it out on the rest of the team cause I imagine what it feels like to just sit there waiting for help, even though the killer isn't even there and your pug group of survivors just lets you die....like.....#########....

Those games are usually solo queue survivors and I end up taking it easy on the black sheep that gets left to die....

It sounds like you have underlying anxiety or something? I've never experienced that in any PvP game ever, that's not a good sign if you're having panic like symptoms in the moments leading up to your matches you should probs keep an eye on that!

Happens a lot in pvp games to people actually. PVP stress and performance stress is the number 1 reason why some people don't touch pvp games at all. Trust me, I've lead literal armies of people in mmos as a guild, and you will see people on numerous occasions just say F it, "I don't like pvp it stresses me out" You got a group of 150-200 people leading them around during pvp yeah if you're winning nobody is stressed out at all cause they're usually getting carried. You take that same 150-200 people and they start losing <--- all the sweats and shakes start happening then.

I should apologize for generalizing all killers, that was careless of me so I'm sorry.

It's just, from my experiences lately I try my hardest in solo queue to get better on my own (Instead of playing with my friends who are all red ranks) and end up getting some of the most miserable experiences being face camped and hit on hook and or tunneled relentlessly and then told I'm bad in end game chat.

So that's why I made my quick comment, admittedly I should have put more thought into it but I personally can see a certain percent of bully killers utilizing this kinda info to target solo q players and be meanies. Again, not ALL killers would do this, my b

Hey man I'm right here with ya as a killer main. And I totally understand some of the scummy plays coming from killer players right now. But I honestly can't even fault them because its been building up to this point. You see change after change buffing SWF, nerfing killers out of the high ranks, nerfing survivor aspects that literally only hurt solo survivors and new players. And you end up with a split. Killers trying to fight SWF's and just blind firing every match not even checking if it is SWF, and just unloading everything possible to keep that role powerful. Everybody being that sweaty didn't used to be a thing. People sweat harding against solo survivors didn't used to be a thing. But now its like...kill or be killed, there is no chill because of the way SBMM is set up.

Knowing BHVR though they'll just try to fix the problem by nerfing some perk or a set of killers without addressing the core issue with SWF breaking anything you decide to put in it which in turn anything you nerf on SWF perk wise or whatever>>> Makes solo survivors play even more difficult for no reason.

Every killer in this game has to go through 12 hooks and 24 health states per game to 4k 32 health states for nemesis. Before SBMM hit I was perfectly fine going against solo queue survivors for most of my matches and seeing 2 escapes, or 1 escape cause the games actually lasted a while. You could run random builds, things didn't feel rushed unless you were playing killers with a set up time, and even those set up time killers would 50/50 their matches. Now adays though, its run X amount of gen slow down perks or else. Play X killer or else. Turn yourself up to 11 or else. Its like 2017 all over again. Another point in this games life where things were just generally unfun. Infinites were still around, but at least back then the matchmaking made a little sense and you wouldn't end up with wild edge cases where a rank 1 could dive bomb a rank 15 game. Then they decided for the sake of "friendship" it wasn't a good idea to have your SWF games be decided by the highest rank of the survivor on your team....so what happens....tons of smurfs. Who has to pay for it? Solo Queue survivors randomly going against some R3 killer when they're only R15 and killers getting dunked on and bullied by R1's at R15. It really does boggle my mind how some of this stuff gets sent down the chain....I dunno if its due to lack of testing or what but the problems just keep stacking.

  • @Axx said:

DBD is like WoW. Nothing will beat it or top it. WoW is in a terrible state atm, but it still has the most players out of every MMO on the market. VHS will probably do fairly well if it's a good game, but DBD will always be the top asym game.

Actually FF14 beat them out this year.

  • @ukenicky said:

Literally killers will dodge swfs until they get solo queue survivors for easy matches. I get it, I don't like going up against swf squads either when I play killer but killers would abuse this to bully solo queue survivors who already have enough on their plate.

What makes you assume killers as a whole have it out for solo queue survivors? You ever actually ask a killer player how they feel about solo queue survivors? Cause I been playing this game for a long time and I can say with full confidence I love solo queue survivors more than any other survivor in the game. Not because they're "Easy" because they aren't, all depends on who you're facing. But because they're playing the core game. They aren't getting a million and 1 free bits of information. They aren't meta gaming the map so stealth players can still be stealthy. And 99% of the time they're playing smarter than the SWF squads and playing for self preservation because they know they aren't guaranteed some convoluted backup plan they can plot out in their discord chat....

If I get the chance and can tell theres a solo queue survivor who just happens to get matched up with a set of 3 SWF I usually let that guy go out of respect for the hustle. In fact most killers feel sorry for them because they get constantly ignored by dev updates when they make changes that inadvertently buff SWF to the moon. Making killer players play even scummier because (if you don't know how to tell if someone is in a solo queue or SWF of course killers will play like this, pro tip, you can totally tell before the match starts you just need a keen eye).

If I had a chance solo queue survivor would be the only survivors available in the game and if coms were available they'd be proxy only voice chat in game with the option to mute. And I'd nerf and buff killers according to solo queue play, and buff survivors according to solo queue play. That way the game remains scary in some aspects and fun. If I was to keep SWF in the game it'd be its own separate queue and in that queue you could only play against the highest ranked killers there are because at that point, you're playing with a handicap advantage like a game of golf starting you out with -10 strokes regardless of how bad you think you and your friends are at that point you sign up for nightmare mode.

As can be seen right now the game is largely unfun to most of the player base because they hold that SWF prize so damn high above everything else that everything else is left blotted out by the sun to rot. Rot creates resentment. Resentment creates toxicity. Toxicity leads to people quitting the game. Quitting the game leads to game closures and lost revenue. <-- This isn't what we want. But if they keep stacking this crap on top of itself eventually thats what happens, which is an absolute travesty considering all the beloved licensed franchises that are in this game who would also inadvertently would take a hit from it.

Right, "just play in a SWF duh" as a solution to the issues with solo queue. You don't see how that might signify that there's a massive balance (and fun) issue here? If one game mode is just superior to the other in every single way, you don't think that might be something that should be addressed by the devs instead of them keeping their heads in the sand?

People told me MMR would fix these issues with solo queue but it's actually worse than ever.

SWF is their breadwinner though, they care about quantity over quality. Which means they aren't gonna improve solo queue nor killers. So....get with the program man. SWF or bust.

This is public matches, high and probably top SBMM elo with my main Pyramid head, since every match I completely massacre all survivors.

I saw in lobby the hours and all the characters used in comp dbd (Ace, Claudette, Nea), and I already knew this would have been a comp like match where gens would have disappeared insanely fast.

No stretched res/increased fps/improved brightness or reshape/improved audio quality.

    Now, question for you BHVR:

What would happened without Deadlock Ruin Undying?

How fast would have gens been completed?

Just look at how fast I killed Ace, with him getting tormented and doing an instakill after he went to second stage. This was like the fastest kill against sweaty comp like players in history, not even Nurse can avoid DS and get a kill so quickly. The chases were the fastest they could have been realistically, with two dead hards delaying the chases.

What would have happened if I did not force Ace to second stage?

What would have happened without camping in this match, or playing in a not terribly unfun way for the survivors?

And this match was in Cowshed, with one of the best killers' anti looping abilities in the game (Pyramid imo after the Spirit nerf is gonna be the 3rd best killer in the game after Nurse or Blight, because Oni is a m1 killer for too long, Huntress can suck an pulled down pallets and has no tunneling ability or catch up, and Hag maybe can compete with him, but I believe hag can't avoid being massively in bullied by "comp like" players in public matches with flashlights.), with an ability to tunnel out survivors out of the game when they get tormented, because if you hit borrowed time when they unhook and if they go in a locker for DS after the deep wound timer runs out you can cage/execute them, and you can almost always force survivors to get tormented even when they pre drop pallets.

What would have happened if i was Doctor, a killer that has an anti looping/chasing ability that can be as strong as Pyramid head's one, but has no tunneling ability like him?

    This is why

dead by daylight's core mechanics need a complete review

and as Dave RIchard staid in the interview:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHRAMxiGNxg

,killers are like forced to use gen protection perks, and he said they want to change that.

This is why either the core mechanics of dbd must get changed, or something related to not having to depend on gen regression perks must be worked on.

    And, btw,

this is not a competitive dbd team, neither, if it was, an efficient one or either strong one.

What these people have been doing can be done by a group of friends, every match, just doing gens fast and being decent.

What would have happened if they were extremely more efficient, calling out the positions in the map, not going down so fast?

This is why I feel bad playing my main Pyramid head, because he's such a well designed and fun to play killer with his 2 abilites, and requires also a great, and if not MASSIVE, amount of skill, BUT I HAVE TO PLAY IN SUCH AN UNFUN WAY, every match out of 2/3 almost, to get my 2/3/4 kills, that it drains away all the fun away seriously.

Pls BHVR do something, other than putting other perks in the game similar to Deadlock or Corrupt, this is not the correct way of balancing this way in a fun and entertaining way fora all players, killer and survivors.

    Because nobody likes these matches:

    me because I know already how X match is going to end and the strategy I'll have to use, and what is going to happen if I'll do just a tiny mistake (GG, almost always);

the survivors because 1 gets is tunneled and gets out of the game insta fast and the others just press M1 on gens.

who likes these matches? write your opinion about similar experiences!

Feels ######### to play like that, but thats what the game has devolved into.

Sounds like you need more practice. If you think this game isn’t killer sided now you’re delusional, especially after this update.

Update didn't change anything except increase our normal dose of copium in thinking we got improved. Core issues are still core issues, that haven't been touched in ages. This patch they remove Keys from letting out 4 people at once. <---It shouldn't have ever been a thing in the first place. The same way 1 hook Mori's should have never been a thing. People get used to whats broken and go through tons of copium and battle with themselves to pretend its normal. Then when they fix it, we pretend it was a buff when it was never OK to begin with.

This patch upcoming isn't a buff. Its a nightmare incoming. These boon totems delete any progression you may have thought you got from having add ons changed to actually be worth using and they still don't fix your sorry gen times or pressure at MMR cap. Problem <---The add ons should have never been worthless to begin with. Couple months down the line they'll adjust boon totems after you've sat with the nightmare for ages, and then you'll go, "THIS GAME IS OBVIOUSLY KILLER SIDED THEY FINALLY FIXED BOON TOTEMS!" <---Meanwhile....they should have never been that strong to begin with. But they nerfed mettle of man <---it should have never existed in its previous state. But they nerfed infinite loops <---should have never existed. But they nerfed DS <----also should have never been as it was especially since its obvious by now they didn't factor in what could be done with it. But they...but but but but but....

Its a 0 sum game. Nobody here is delusional. Just inhaling copium while you lose gens left and right in the first 2 minutes of the game and are forced into running the Ruin meta until you get tired of it and play survivor where you have far more effective variety in perks, way more skins to buy, and control the entire pace of the game by literally pressing W and dropping pallets as soon as you can....All it takes is 80 seconds and the first half of the game is over....

  • Overall...kinda mediocre except for the charge and speed add ons. Crate of gears and tampered timer both being nerfed at the same time wasn't neccessary IMO, they could have changed 1 or the other and it would have been fine. But both? Bleh...

Ruleset 2 add on rarity change was nice since I actually run some slow down perks to offset people aiming at gens before their timer starts.

    Amandas Letter range increase, fantastic.

Johns Medical File, again along with the rest of the dash add ons are great.

The only reason I'm not screaming for joy from these changes is the fact that the most significant change (being the skill check add ons) you can't actually do ######### with these unless you're facing the lowest MMR players in the game. Because nobody past maybe 20 hours in this game can miss a skillcheck unless they're going for nothing but great skillchecks. And in that case, Pigs default skill checks are the easiest in the game to hit. You can't use stuff like lullabye or unnerving to modify these in any way.....so....effectively, these add ons are still garbage....Not because of what they are, but because you can't interact with or modify them in any way with perks or other things other killers use on a frequent basis to approach or make skill checks harder.

And currently we can't even use the video tape on PTB to test anything so thats out the window.

    Jigsaws sketch....decent.

    Annotated Plan....actually good.

^ Now will any of these make pig perform better as far as traps go....no....sadly...because thats usually my go to playstyle, not a dashy player, but I use it when needed.

^ Now will these make pig perform better as a brute force and dash player? Yes absolutely.

Overall though...mediocre. Great changes for dashers, bad changes for trappers since we can't modify jigsaw boxes with perks. If they removed that bullshit rule, I'd actually run those skillcheck add ons and it would at least give me more build options and less boring games for survivors.

Overall though, I think the direction they're going with her kit, is ######### brilliant. Few tweaks here and there and she'll probably be the most fun killer on the roster. Beside maybe Pinhead. Who feels pretty damn good when you get good with him.

I've seen more people get upset about the new Built To Last change than the change to keys that literally everyone has been begging for for actual years.

    Seriously, what's happening here?

    People are content.

When people are happy, they are quiet.

When people are angry they are loud.

When your game is proper, people are happy, and quiet.

When your game has serious issues, people are angry and loud.....

    Duh?

  • This your first time here?

I got some things to finish up around the house, when I'm done....we'll have a long conversation about SWF.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

For solos it's not much to worry about. Swf are gonna make it a nightmare.

SWF is the reason we can't have nice things, or a balanced game. When we are allowed to have nice things SWF usually breaks it.

I hope they preserve rules set no.2 but amanda's letter was really underpowered wouldn't you agree?

I only used Amanda's letter when I want to run a stealthy gen grabby all seeing eye type of build. Which I'm gonna be honest I don't run it a whole lot because of the sheer rarity of those add ons. And the fact that you can't just throw it on willy nilly without the proper map. Its basically just an aura read for indoor maps. If they ditched Amanda's letter I don't think I'd cry over it. But at the same time, having that option again is what makes Pig a cut above most other killers. As a killer who's primary niche is setting up deadly games for people to overcome or die from, Quantity reigns supreme for options so she's never boring to play. You can exhaust peoples helmets, blind them, (hopefully one day they bring a helmet in that ######### with peoples screens making them dizzy or something). You can tamper with peoples helmets to reduce the timers, add more jigsaw boxes, throw all the boxes out the window and have a strong aura read, (you used to be able to ######### with peoples jigsaw box skill checks but thats no longer the case.....no thanks to BHVR for that one...fuggin lame...) you can run a speedy crouch build, etc etc.

Her versatility is god tier. I just think her add ons previously were too focused on 1 singular gimmick and not multiple like we're getting now....hopefully. A lot of the add ons in her kit could just straight up be condensed. Like all the multiple ways to boost your dash...like....kinda ######### lame tbh.

Of the add ons in her kit theres a few I never even bother using because the effect is meh or I feel broke that day and wanna conserve some add ons.

Workshop Grease: Dogshit never use it because her skillchecks are too easy to hit.

Shattered Syringe: Dogshit add on....why the ######### are you missing to begin with?

Johns Medical File: Meh by itself its totally worthless.

Combat Straps: Again meh ass add on which by itself is totally worthless.

Video Tape: Current version again by itself trash.

Razor Wires: Trash because again, her skillchecks are too easy to hit.

Interlocking Razor: Dogshit add on because again....it doesn't matter how many skillchecks you add, they're too easy to hit.

So thats 7 add ons off the rip that could either be condensed or just straight up deleted.

I would prefer they condense stuff like skill check add ons into 1 add on, so if you wanna be Mr skill checks you can be Mr Skill checks but it won't completely take up all your add on slots so you could maybe run half of 2 gimmicks at one time. So lets say you wanted to be a diver you could run a new add on that combines the effects of combat straps and video tape, and then run 1 other add on that increases the amount of skill checks but also reduces the width of the skillcheck zone. So you'd end up running 2 add ons for seperate gimmicks, but not 2 add ons to make that gimmick ABOVE AND BEYOND. Like say you wanted to only focus on skill check gimmicks you can run a yellow and a green add on that have the same effect stacking reducing skill check zones while also increasing the amount of skill checks. In an ideal world, none of pigs add ons are useless by themselves in any means.

  • I would hope they wouldn't remove their functionality and instead move their function to either basekit for ruleset no2 or put them in less rare add ons.... Pig players don't need less options. Versatility is her strong point....removing that just makes her gameplay loop boring.

    From the DBD Twitter.

    The Pig :

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9WKQAS78OA2T/image.png

Video tape currently reduces charge time and miss of ambush attacks but it has been changed from an uncommon to an ultra rare and has this new effect.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KCG22CXCH8J4/image.png

Interlocking razor currently tremendously increases the penalty for failing a jigsaw box skill check and was an rare and is now a common.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9Z84OEL4F808/image.png

Jigsaw's Sketch has been updated with an additional effect. This add on has been reworked. Thanks to @Komrad_Karnage for pointing that out.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8KJNIVPZRUII/image.png

Workshop grease has been reworked and changed from a common to a uncommon. Previously this add on would slightly increase jigsaw box skill check odds. I just realised, the new workshop grease is actually the old video tape.

    The Shape:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZGVUDNLDRMFN/image.png

Vanity mirror used to reduce The Shape's Movement speed by 7% (making him 108%) and it no longer does that now.

    The Nurse :

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0GD4M23DUB94/image.png

Torn Bookmark has had it's line of sight restriction removed and now has a new effect.

That's all for now! I am really excited for these, especially the new video tape because i think that is an extremely cool Saw reference.

edit : added more new sneek peeks

With this new pink...######### happens to Ruleset no2 and Amandas letter?

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 30
