Just win at 5 gens 4head
-
It looks good but I doubt it will have a major impact on DBD’s player base

I seriously get a DC in over half my matches with him. Wish they would add an archives challenge to get a DC in 15 seconds. I want the bloodpoints for my talent, please.
I don’t blame them tbh. There is absolutely nothing fun about trickster and going against him is miserable
-
I know the devs have no interest in this change but giving him two different ammo pools would be better. Imo he should have 4 tonics and 2 antidotes with the antidote’s recharging after 10 seconds
-
I’m having no issue playing clown without tunnelling. I’m not even that good
-
Too bad you have to give up marvin’s blood
-
Mostly survivor since I prefer having teammates to complain about
-
I enjoy fighting slinger so long as he isn’t running moniter. I can’t enjoy spirit though
-
You start to slug and run gen regression. Or try to Improve your chase
-
Trickster: “DC sound”
-
Yeah it hasn’t been too fun for survivor either imo. All I get is either insanely good blight’s nurses and spirits or a fresh install wraith who thinks he’s playing Friday the 13th
Did BHVR seriously think they could pull this off?
-
Didn’t they just remove it for another bug? I guess this shows they don’t play test
-
Not to mention the main building can be a death trap with a certain window spawn

Not every Spirit you face will be top tier, plenty of them waste their full phase without getting a hit - it just requires a completely different playstyle from survivors.
And can you tell me what that playstyle is besides using perks? Using mindgames will only work while healthy and even then spirit still has a lot of ways to track you.
Also even if she uses her full phase what if she has duration (which adds recharge because fun) and recovery add ons? The cooldown is much shorter and gives survivors barely any reward for actually managing to pull something off.
-
Should’ve changed your name to nemesis

The overheat is barely noticeable unless you're using double engravings. He's still strong and fun
I do still like and play him but the nerf was still completely unnecessary.
-
All they had to do was remove charge time but I guess they don’t like fun killers. Don’t worry though spirit is still the same :(
-
I don’t notice any difference personally. It seems that my matches are just as random
-
Cleanse the bloodlines - Unleash the archers
A broken man and the dawn - Volbeat
Naden - Garmarna
Afterlife - avenged sevenfold
Rusty cage -Johnny cash
I could go on
-
Cool design and lore. Very balanced barring his all seeing blood add on.
He is hated for the same reason Freddy was. He is easy to play and played often but isn’t actually as strong as people think

Doesn’t matter, if you’re at shack she has to use a lot of her phase to get you. Try a fast vault then slow vault back… next time do the complete opposite. Your goal is waste at least one phase so she becomes a 4.4 ms killer. Then she has to wait around 15 seconds for her power to come back.
As I said the killer can hear me slow vault the window. Unless I have iron will it doesn’t matter what I do because the spirit can track everything you do by sound or sight.
Good spirits do waste their phase. They use it in short bursts so the cooldown is minimised and the penalty for messing up a phase is negligible

But you can´t compare Ubisoft with BHVR. Ubisoft is huge.
Yeah that’s the problem. Bhvr seemed to half ass the servers which is why perks like DH don’t work
-
She needs a major rework imo. Her traps are rng reliant and add ons can make them kill survivors if they get unlucky. Her ambush is useless without add ons and mediocre with them and her stealth is the worst of the stealth killers
-
Are you expecting everyone to just go perkless?

I knew it was a bad idea to change a p2p game to dedicated servers.
Some games have done it well. For honour went from p2p to dedicated pretty smoothly
-
Yeah I’d be up for it if it means no more jumpscare Myers or midwich hags
-

Finally the counterplay I have been looking for. Just need to dust off my old switch of lag! /s
But yeah, I haven't seen lag switching since old school CoD. It brings me back.
People used to lag switch on p2p connection I remember. It was really annoying

Mindgame windows or pallets, that’s your best bet. Remember, she can’t see you when phasing.
Yes but she can hear my moans of pain, see foliage moving. Hear me slow vault pallets or windows since your survivor grunts and see scratch mark or potentially blood not to mention footsteps.
All I can track her on is footsteps but I’m pretty sure they removed that

He was unique, and ofc theres going to be that few that enjoy it, but the general feel was negative for him.
Again, it was silly to sit there and watch a survivor do objectives while you wait and I never want that back. I can't be alone either.
Yeah but what’s the feel of new Freddy. How many people genuinely enjoy him right now?
-
@Rey_512 said:
Run Iron Will (which you probably already do). Lucky Break also helps, especially if you use that with IW and a fast medkit.
Unlike the sound bug which nerfed Spirit hard and she couldn’t do anything about it, survivors have ways to counter her.
So run perks basically? What if I don’t have them going in?

Im not disagreeing with you all,I just wanted to point out the problem with old Freddy, they could have made the dream state instant or shorter and moved the aura reading ability to a wider range and gave him his new abilities or just dream pallets and snares as base kit,but idk that's a lot tbh.I would miss the teleport tho
Dream transition is kinda important especially when good freddy’s used the glimpses to mindgame survivors
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
Before mmr, teams would rarely use alarm clocks. But now that he is high mmr, I have multiple people who I can't put into the dream state and know how to play around dream snares. Lol.
Not going to lie, I thought he was really strong because the survivors I went up against were so bad. But now I finally understand why people rate him the way they do.
Not saying that he feels bad... But, well, he doesn't feel as good as he once did. I find myself not really wanting to queue up for him just to face competent survivors. He used to be my favorite and the reason I got addicted to ruin surveillance. I do not even have time to teleport to gens anymore.
He’s just annoying to play as at the moment. It feels like your whole power is controlled by the survivors since you have to hit them without a power to get them in the dream state
-
@TheStabbiNAngeL said:
But there wasn't a way to wake yourself up properly,you had to find a teammate or fail a skill check,which often just led to a repeat of the same cycle.I miss old freddy to but certain aspects,I don't and he's more powerful now
Old Freddy definitely had his issues but his was definitely more interesting than the current version

Tbh Legion did a rework, and Old Freddy was worse than Trapper imo. I was still new to the game when it happened but I remember him being kind of a pushover, the type where you could do gens and unhooks on front of him and don't even get damaged.
His rework sucks because he doesn't even feel like Freddy. You could give his power to any killer and it would work. But Old Freddy had a lot of improvements to be made.
It’s true he was weak but they would have been better off buffing his old self instead of throwing the whole concept away
-
I’d love to see a prison jumpsuit clown or flat cap slinger

Well, I don't think anyone knows for sure...Perhaps it was meant to silence complaints about him, but that could've been solved without a full rework.
But in the end, BHVR is BHVR. We can only hope that they will see their mistake eventually and fix it.
"I just want to experience old Freddy for myself tbh"
Wait...You've never played him?
Nope I played against him like twice but never got the chance to play him myself
-
@GeneralV said:
I second what everyone else has said in here.
Freddy tells a very sad tale. He started as the most unique killer in the game, whose power had a borderline perfect design...Only to be undeservedly nerfed after a week.
Then we get to the Old Freddy that most of us remember, who I dare say was the most underrated killer in Dead by Daylight's history. And eventually he got reworked and became this boring abomination that we all know.
Not to mention his most recent nerf, which failed to address the main issue.
What else is needed for the devs to understand that we need Old Freddy back?
Ah, if only DBD belonged to me...His on-release version would have returned by now.
Honestly looking back on it I’m trying to figure out why they even did rework him. People were saying he was bad but then killers like trapper and legion haven’t got the same treatment.
Was it because he was too different? But nurse and hag both played less like an m1 killer than Freddy does. I just want to experience old Freddy for myself tbh
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
Yeah, Freddy is in a really sad state at the moment. I don't know why the developers thought it would be a good idea to have a lethal power (Nemesis' Tentacle) and Freddy's snares have the same movement speed penalty while they're held. They both go at 4.0m/s.
Most of Freddy's addons basically do nothing. Even the most interesting rope, Jump Rope, has been made almost completely useless with the recent Stridor change. He has 4 useless status effect addons (like come on, who wants a TIMED haemorrhage addon for a purple?? at least Pyramid Head's purple haemorrhage addon doesn't have a time limit). I don't know why he has a debuff addon either, those addons are such a waste of a slot.
I don't know why they reduced the snare count as well, pre-placing snares actually made Freddy more strategic, but I guess they didn't want that gameplay? And pallets getting a nerf? what? why?
Honestly, all I want is a way to play the pre-rework version again. He was much more fun and interesting, and didn't rely as much on perks to get the full value out of his power (when's the last time you saw a Freddy without Pop?). He also had a much better set of addons, with pretty much all of them being effective. Sure, he wasn't perfect, but he didn't need a full rework. I hope that one day, BHVR revisit the original concept and do Freddy justice once again.
Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to be seeing much from the devs about Freddy for a while. It makes me sad, but I'm still hopeful for the (somewhat) distant future.
Yeah his snares really feel useless right now to a point where I genuinely do better with clown and it could be up for debate that clown is better
-
Honestly knowing this games spaghetti code it wouldn’t surprise me
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
Freddy is in a weird spot now. For me, I personaly don't play him much because he is just boring and not interesting to play as. Freddy is like nothing special for me.
I enjoy playing Clown more than him.
He used to be probably the most unique killer in the game but unfortunately they just decided to make him boring
-
@glitchboi said:
Honestly all the nerf did was make him even more boring to play as. I don't think slowing Freddy down while placing snares was a necessary change. The only fun thing about him atm is his Dream Projection.
I'm fine with his slowdown add-ons getting removed but holy his new add-ons are an absolute trainwreck. To compensate for these nerfs, they should give him better add-ons.
I miss a certain Freddy... before his rework happened.
I think we all miss old Freddy but knowing the devs he ain’t coming back :(. I agree slowing him down when putting down snares makes no sense since the are worse than clown bottles but he doesn’t get slowed down
-
Surely killer queues would be short if there was a lack of killer players right?
-
@GannTM said:
They should bring back old Freddy, back before his major rework in July 2019. I wasn’t around back then but his power looked so interesting and unique when I watched gameplay of him even though he wasn’t strong at all.
I never played him myself but played against him once or twice. He was both way more interesting and way more accurate to his portrayal in the film. Was he perfect? No but he had way more potential than this new version does
-
The problem kinda lies in certain killers using it. Ruin undying on a killer like clown is fine but on someone like nurse it can be overwhelming
-
Brightness is the least of the maps many issues
-
I honestly have no idea. Oppression doesn’t go on cooldown if you cancel the gen kick so it really should be changed
-

Wait, there is? Wow, talk about dumb challenges. If one can't even be completed because the perk doesn't function, that's just embarrassing.
Well the challenge says you have to stun a killer while he is carrying a survivor so it doesn’t necessarily have to be power struggle itself but it’s still dumb.
Itks like the way clown has a direct hit challenge when direct hits still don’t slow survivors
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2505849#Comment_2505849
I'm not complaining, that perk was a step in the wrong direction. The last thing we need is to shovel more paranoia on the stress role.
As for reverse pallet stuns... I am still forced to run Enduring thanks to the last validation update. If the Devs want to roll the whole pallet-validation thing back, I'm game.
Yeah I’m not a fan of the idea but the fact that an already terrible perk is now unusable is pretty bad especially when there is a challenge based on it in the tome
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Because it took advantage of the hit validation. If killers have their exploits fixed so should survivors.
Too bad it broke power struggle. That perk was already terrible
-
If it means no more trash licensed maps I’d be up for it
