Yeah I initially thought everyone was running monitor and abuse on him but nope. Finally ran into one with monitor and abuse and i literally heard nothing while looking at him from behind a gen.

I enjoy the music but I wish it was tuned correctly. I REALLY hope they put in Legion's custom music in their chase soon.

The Deathslinger only has a 24 meter TR at base. (He is a 110% speed killer.) With Monitor and Abuse that's a 16 meter TR outside of a chase. His gun's max range is 15 meters.

  • Okay, Deathslinger has potential to do some crazy stuff:

But it'll take time to learn all of the tricks of the trade.

I believe they were removed for a few different reasons:

    1. They were very rarely used.

    2. They were a waste of bloodpoints if you didn't use them.

    3. Playing killers without perks (or with their level 1 teachables) didn't usually give good first impressions on them, making people probably less likely to buy those said killers.

    4. Probably terribly coded and buggy.

    5. Possible issues with licenced killers.

I know in the past there were bugs that let survivors burn splinters and force the killer to play someone else.

  • Design wise? Best map in the whole game.

Gameplay wise? I'd argue it's survivor sided.

The Gallows generator is real annoying since it's far enough in that the Redeemer can't quite reach.

On the bright side it only has 1 stairway up so you can trap that as Trapper or Hag. It also has trapdoors on 2 of the repair spots so if it's about to pop you might see a survivor fall down into your arms.

A lot of the smaller houses have balconies that lead to a vault. These staircases also all have a railing so you cannot snipe people on them. They took the worst park of Haddonfield and really used it here. Seriously, there are a LOT of vaults to jump down.

Then there's the shack. Remember how in the PTB the breakable wall was right next to the God Pallet? Now it's across the shack from it. That wall that killers mindgame at? That's what you can make into an entryway now. Meh, I understand it was done for balance. Just with all of the other stuff folks have I genuinely thought that the killer shack might be pro killer for once without the basement.

Don't get me wrong I love this map. The new walls, the new gate, the sky and backgrounds are all beautiful. It's just, kinda wished there wasn't so many drop vaults.

You mean the spear goimg through survivior models?

Obviously not, that would require fixing hitboxes, and "DBD is not a precision based game"

Not even that. I mean the one where the spear doesn't fire from the gun and fires out the side of it.

  • You've got me. When I get a nice Redeemer shot after reeling in the survivor I stare into their eyes and revel in their helplessness.

Then I smack them and move on.

For me as a new player is already sick of getting t-bagged by pro survivors in this game.

Can we get it made that if you carry on tapping the crouch button to many times in a row that the survivor will then get some sort of speed decrease of something in their next match to avoid the professional players t-bagging us new killers.

How many times must the exit gates get opened and then survivors stand their t-bagging us because of the unfair match making in the game.

The pro survivors with thousands of hours of game play are looping us new killers and t-bagging us in the process.

To be honest, this game doesn't feel like it's fun to play for new players. As a new player, I feel like deleting the game and not returning anymore.

If teabagging gets you down and you have the Deathslinger trying using the pin tech. Basically, you shoot a survivor over a loop and pin them in place. Then you use this to rapidly close the distance. The chain will break quickly, but you can attack to break the chain without a stun. That's all I've got right now.

Wasn’t the mmr supposed to come with today’s patch

What in sam hill is an "mmr"? Seriously though, I have no clue what you're talking about.

  • Let me just say this, the devs are not likely to make the Deathslinger any faster.

The devs like the killers to stick to patterns or rules.

Stealth killers that use Undetectable can block auras.

Standard killers move at 4.6m/s and use a primary attack and a power that adds a twist

Ranged killers move at 4.4m/s and use hatchets, spears, or traps to close the gap.

If they made Deathslinger 4.6m/s then they'd get flooded with demands to buff Huntress then Hag.

We're just gonna have to figure out what makes the Deathslinger tick.

  • Old Legion was fun, however he had 2 flaws. First off, you could abuse Deep Wounds by chasing survivors backwards to get effortless downs. Secondly, you could just spam Feral Frenzy to get a down. Both were effortless and easy ways to down survivors and they had 0 counter play.

I get that the change was bad, but you cannot just bring old Legion back as they had too many exploits.

Title. Between the 20+ minute queue times for low rank killers due to the SWF changes (OhTofu just did an awesome video on it, go check it out to see a more elegant explanation), the next to worthless tutorial that doesn't explain perks, bloodwebs, killer powers, or other major gameplay aspects, and the fact that a new player starts with literally nothing, and has to play a game blind with no perks and next to no explanations, I genuinely don't understand how this game gets any new players. I have personally had 3 friends that were super excited to try the game quit within a week, because the game is so tremendously unfun to a player that's new. I'm trying to get yet another friend into it, because I do genuinely think that it's a great game once you get a head of steam, but thanks to the new SWF changes I can't play with him on my main without him dying in literally 10 seconds to a rank 1 killer. So now I'm contributing to the problem by making a smurf account, solely so I can play with a new friend.

This game needs an offline area for survivors to test killers and perks. The game needs a comprehensive tutorial with killer powers, tile explanations, and examples of perks in action. The game needs a way for new players to rank up survivors other than a cycle of hide-die-repeat until they either understand the game thru beating their head against it or quit. Without new players, this game dies, and as of right now there really isn't a good reason to be a new player in DBD.

The game has an offline mode though, KYF. You can use KYF to run your buds through the basics of gameplay and then help them dip their toes in online play.

Devs, every killers got changes from PTB to live game, and yet nothing for Deathslinger besides minor things, despite 3 weeks of work? And no, he's not fine and has many flaws.

Just a question, do you all even read the feedbacks? No offense, but I seriously doubt it. Or you all are still "monitoring" his performance, like you did with nurse, legion or other killers?

I kind of find it hard to believe. I expected major changes to him since you guys took 3 weeks for this patch. Guess i was wrong... i have lost my faith on you guys..

Did they at least fix the spear issue? Please tell me they fixed the spear issue.

After the timer expires and all survivors get off the generator, does it still highlight when someone works on it?

If survivors stop repairing the generator after a good skill check was passed regardless of the perk activation the generator aura reveal will be cancelled, from what I can tell.

  • @Spooky13 said:

Don't worry though dropping a survivor only gives 25% wiggle progression now. 🙃

    Slug meta it is then.

You forget: "E FOR THE PEOPLE!"

  • The thing to remember here is that for 30 seconds if anyone gets a good skill check that gen is marked as long as it is repaired. So generators can only be marked within the 30 seconds time but remain marked for a while. It's like Discordance in a way, I guess.

  • Mainly because everyone and their mother kept yelling: "Every survivor within 16 meters of a hook has their aura revealed?! That's awesome! Good bye BBQ hello Hangman's!" etc. For reference, that's KINDRED'S killer reveal radius at tier 3.

Return Old version of DbD (1.0.0), we dont need 1471234651 of maniacs, we need 1+1+1+1 of survs (without voice chat or any way for playing in team) and 1 Trapper

May be not 1.0.0, may be 1.3.0 with Hillbilly and Ghost (DingDongBoy)

As a Legion main hoping to turn Deathslinger main, no.

  • Clown's music I like for nostalgia reasons. When Clown released the design team got a lot more freedom as the cosmetic shop opened and perk borders got thinner. It marked the end of an era where the 4 survivors in your lobby had 1 of 2 outfits and often looked the same (Ignoring the squadette we still see today).

  • I use the "Team Captain" build:

Bond, Better Together, Kindred, and Prove Thyself.

Bond let's you keep an eye on how the game is going and lets you get heals reliably from team mates. (It's free BP after all.)

Better Together helps your team find you and use Prove Thyself to power through your generator . (When it doubt, do mid first.)

Kindred is so awesome that it needs to explanation. Just, use it for a single solo game, you'll see what I mean.

And I already discussed Prove Thyself.

By using this build you are ensuring that generators are constantly going and that saves are happening properly. I dubbed it the team captain build earlier, but let's be real if anything, it's a momentum build.

Hey, how often do you play killer or survivor and why?

I really enjoy playing both sides equally-ish. There's days where i just want to play killer, hit survivors just to hear their scream, but somedays i just want to be in their shoes, getting chase and that great feeling after you escaped from an intense chase with close-calls.

Now i'm trying to learn a bit of survivor too, so its a 60% survivor and 40% killer at this moment, what about you guys?

How often I play both? I'd say daily then. I usually play at least 3 games on each side as a minimum for a standard to observe.

  • @BenZ0 said:

So from my profile picture you can see I am used to be a Legion main... the old Legion that was actually fun and had a unique power. Since they destroyed this poor low tier Killer with the endgame collapse patch I switched to spirit. It wasnt that much of a big deal, I still miss my Susie alot thought, but Spirit was really fun thought and had a nice mechanic and learning curve.

Now since over 3 months my poor Spirit is broken. Her most reliable aspect for chases (Sounds) are bugged! I waited patiently and tried to play her sometimes. Overall I still 4k alot and she works decently but only 50% of the time. Really OFTEN I hear footstebs right next to me but actually the survivor was running behind a jungle gym wall. I dont hear any breath or injury sounds really often (The iron will silent bugg, also happens to slugged survivors). Footstebs are often not accurate.

These problems were already since ages in the game but not as heavy as it is now. I am not having fun beeing outplayed and looped by survivors because of a flawed programming of the developers... This is very frustrating and just makes me wanna quit. So I decided to switch to Oni main now and slugg all 4 survivors with Infectios Fright. I am not doing it to be toxic thought, its really fun. Oni works atleast very well and is really damn fun, I love his design and power.

What I wanted to say now is... that cant keep going with Spirit, they finally have to take a look into her and the sounds itself.. I know that the devs said "The sound team is working on it", but come on it has been 3 almost 4 months???

The reason BHVR had to change old Legion was blatant abuse. I mean, you could spam Feral Frenzy stabs on one survivor until they went down. Don't get me wrong I liked a lot of old Legion's quirks, being able to Frenzy without a full power bar, being able to pressure survivors with Deep Wounds without having to run off to the shadow realm.

It's just too bad that far too many Youtubers (Whose names I cannot mention) constantly announced how he could be abused, and so he was abused.

I think it's a weaker variation of bond. I'd rather use bond than Better together.

    Or both, both is good.

  • @NecroGoatLord There is one thing I would have you know regarding DLC acquisition in Dead by Daylight. For the older chapters, unique outfits are available only for those who buy the chapter. So, if you want the casual Feng, or Tuxedo Ace set you'll need to purchase their respective chapters. This being said, the "Spark of Madness" chapter is the only chapter I can recall having truly special cosmetics for both killer and survivor. After the Clown's release the special cosmetics have all been recolored existing items not worth the attention.

You wish killers to win with bad setups? perkless ? addonless? Only then game is balanced?

Killers should be able to win without using good set ups.

If killers are required to use specific set ups just to win then something is wrong.

  • @KinglyKingVee said:

Yes, entitlement is very strong for a lot of players in the game. Killers shouldn't let survivors go to be nice and survivors shouldn't gift killers free kills. I don't understand where the mentality that one side owes the other something in this game.

I think you only see stuff like that among people that are just "chill".

After enough trials you stop caring about escaping or killing and then the game becomes more about the strategy of gen repairs/defence and chase mind games.

You simply cannot guarantee a win every single game so some folks like myself worry less about the end and more about the journey.

  • It's a darn shame the only thing I know that could potentially do this is Nvidia Shadow play. However, it only records your perspective so you'd need a full team of survivors and a killer all playing KYF games seriously with the software recording for a taste of what this would look like.

Then again, if anyone wants to do some science in KYF I'm down since I maxed out my BP and dailies for the 10th.

  • From my experience with Nvidia I'd say you're using the screen filters to make Dead by Daylight tremendously brighter. Which when factored with your perks makes it no surprise that you got a 4k.

This thread is about you attempting to say that the game is not survivor sided since you triumphed in 1 game at high ranks with a fairly easy to play killer. However, I find that this alone does not properly address the concerns of the killer community.

You set up your perks in a way that considerably increased your odds of success and claim this disproves balance issues however you have shown us no gameplay nor have you shown us what map this game was played on either.

I'd wager you only triumphed because of your perks and filter. I'm not going to ask you to try and play hundreds of Hillbilly games with various perk builds to prove the game's balance state. But I will say that if you think you're going to convince anyone with a single post-game screenshot of you using a good perk combo to get a 4k you are sorely mistaken.

  • Normally it isn't toxic to slug and if you didn't hook anyone after bringing a 7000BP mori anyone it's actually rather foolish. That being said, context matters a lot. So I can't completely agree unless you can recreate the scenario that led you to make the poll.

  • The very fact that mains exist is a large reason why this community has so much toxicity. I could understand not wanting to play a certain role if this was Age of Empires or something. For example, if you like infantry combat so you'll never use an archer or cavalry civ, I understand that form of aversion. However, DBD is a game where both roles have such vastly different play styles it's common to see that people fail to fully understand each other, resulting in these clashes. Survivors might complain about a killer camping when in reality they're chasing the survivor that decided to loop next to a hooked teammate. Killers might complain about gen rushing while forgetting that at the start of a match repairing is in most cases the primary goal of survivors. (So until the killer starts chasing, hooks, or downs a survivor what else do they honestly expect the survivors to do?)

That being said, not everyone will be hostile, and if you can filter out the ignorant crowd, then you might just find some meaningful discussion.

I am not a DS user however the aggression I face because of being the obsession makes it feel like I'm the target of unwarranted aggression.

I know how you feel believe me. My advice? If it is too much of a problem bring a broken key with a Wedding Ring. That should help reduce your odds of being the obsession without touching your perks.

  • I'll be honest most of these look like fairly reasonable quality of life changes. The only one I have any issue with is Adrenaline but I can see why you suggested that change.

  • @Reborn2020 Just out of curiosity, how did you photograph the end game screen? I know what screenshots are but the way the picture looks makes me curious.

  • @CountVampyr said:

I’m having fun. Guess I’m the odd man out.

And honestly I don’t blame the devs for not listening to the complaints, because as near as I can tell, pick a game, there are ALWAYS a loud subset of complainers. Some complaining to be sure, is entirely warranted. But then there are others ( a LOT of others) that feel entitled to change every single rule into their favor. Nothing is ever “fair” to them unless they win. If you can’t please everybody all of the time then it stands to reason to ignore the people that you can’t please NONE of the time.

The problem with DBD is that the community divided itself. Survivor mains and killer mains are the root of the issue. Both groups have no empathy for each other and have become entitled because of it. The rift challenges were a good attempt to force people to play both sides more, but I am beginning to think it didn't work.

  • The reason you see more Huntress than anyone else at low ranks is just because she is a ranged killer.

Most of the characters in Dead by Daylight are melee characters. Even the Nurse is still ultimately a melee character! So with almost no time on Dead by Daylight Huntress appeals to new people since on paper ranged attacks make it sound like she can down survivors before they can run to a loop at all to keep up enough pressure to get an ez win.

Though I don't think anyone at that level realizes that she's 5% slower. Has a cooldown between hatchet throws. And survivors can almost always get to loops anyway.

  • Grabbing is heavily effected by latency. If you try to grab a survivor and they run as you attempt the grab it cancels it. You just need to be completely unseen or find survivors that aren't afraid of being grabbed, like DS users.

  • Okay, fellas, let's be reasonable here. A neon key isn't very likely. How about we start suggestions with metal colors?

I d/c again against a "hidden" key get 15 mins I'll just stop playing killer.

1 gen to go, 3 survivors down the hatch, no thanks.

So how about they make it alot easier to see keys coming in, like you can see medkits, boxes, so I can dodge that #########.

    Yours Sincerely

Another killer who is about to just walk away.

Real talk here, if you're having trouble seeing keys, maybe look at the hand instead? See, if a survivor has no item their right hand is open and empty. So if they're holding a key their hand will be a fist to grip the item. Maybe stop trying to look for a small hard to see object instead of looking for the sign that it's there?

  • Mindbreaker is actually a solid perk for stealth killers. The biggest obstacle for most stealth killers is survivors sprint bursting away right as they go for a grab. However, since Mindbreaker makes survivors exhausted they cannot Sprint Burst away from generators that are not past 50% repaired. This is where T1 Myers, Ghostface, and Pig can get some real power.

  • Plague, either the whole team has to loop, or the whole team has to sneak. Good luck getting solos to coordinate that info with only crouches, pointing and waving.

  • @FireHazard The absolute biggest impact Nvidia's GForce filters can have on a game like Dead by Daylight is they can make the game brighter. Here is a screenshot from a test I did ages ago on "How bright can I make DBD with Gforce?"

    Desktop Screenshot 2019.12.23 - 12.24.10.64.png

Don't play with this though, does a number on the eyes.

  • Killers smack the hook all the time. It throws off survivors that use the hook scream to know when to hide from BBQ. It also makes the scream quieter.
