It shouldn't have the priority. If people want to have the benefit of saving the lock, they should have to guess which one the Dredge will go to. If the Dredge guesses the same one the survivor did, the adjacent one is too close to teleport to (because of the minimum range on the teleport targeting). If they don't want to risk that, they should have to use up both locks.
Also when neither are locked and no one is inside/interacting, it still picks a random one which is bad and punishing design. Not being able to pick where you go makes zero sense, and even the slight difference of distance from a certain desired target destination point can cause a difference of whether or not you can reach them before they reach something to avoid the hit.
People dont seen to realize how much the lock "saving" consumes time as a killer, let suppose that it takes 4 seconds to get out a locked one.
Most maps has the shack so if the dredge goes 2 times to shack the killer will lose 8 seconds, and this goes on and on, macmillian has a lot of double lockers, house of pain has 4 near a gen in the below part and 2 above, the mothers house and temple of purgation has a jungle gym with at least 6 lockers...
-
@dspaceman20 said:
Then there would be no point in locking a locker since he can just go into the unlocked one
Its a weird balance because you can as a survivor always save a lock, the teleport has a built in token system, if the killer has tokens he should be able to go where he wants to (its a bonification for using the power well), it also removes the player aspect of remembering wich locker has not a lock before the tp, since the game will always screw you over.
Just feel the killer the prioritizing is too strong
-
extra t bag to boost confidence its not like they barely escaped in last hook...
as a killer if someone reaches the gate i just go do something else and leave the timer alone, sometimes they go out, sometimes they wait and die since i didnt go to the show

Imma keep it a stack it's a cool charm and all but there's a reason other games stick to skins and avoid just giving charms by themselves as a twitch prime rewards.
This is meant as feedback moving forward; there's a reason I came at it from this angle and didn't get aggressive or say "shame on you devs" its because its a simple mistake that Behavior can learn from charms, aren't as enticing, and are meant to be filler in battle passes, not rewards in twitch prime.
bro they giving us charms on amazon prime as it is a big deal, and other games are like "hey what about this quantity of currency equivalent to auric cells, in 2 months you can get any skin or the battle pass", meanwhile DBD hehe charm go brrr
even if it is 250 auric cells per month i would take it

Well most devs force console players to face PC players, so dbd isnt an exception.
Otherwise everyone would cross out PC players since out of 100 cheaters, 99 on pc
fortnite can limit their crossplay, i know its a different genre and player count, but they dont force it on people. Some people would not cross out just because it will be faster to use the crossplay on function, but we should be able to turn off and wait more to have a no cheating + bots games.
-
@mynameisBlade said:
You sound stupid. Never going to happen.
i literally just want to play the game without being forced to crossplay, it doesnt costs that many resources to create lobbies for players, also the option to limit crossplay was even on a satisfaction survey from the devs, so they know its happening but they dont do it because people are lacking empathy
-
@SleepyWillo said:
So because you dont want to play with crossplay on means that nobody else should be allowed to?
And FYI cheaters can easily make it seem like theyre playing on consoles...
no you are wrong, people with crossplay activated are solely getting matched with people from crossplay on, so the following happens:
1-
4 survs xbox (on)
1 killer xbox (on)
2-
2 survs ps4 (off)
0 killers ps4 (off)
The game never get the remaining 2 ps4 survivors with crossplay on to fill the lobby, and never get the killer.
The right thing to do in programming is letting crossplay on from the same plataforms being able to fill lobbys from crossplay off players, instead the game just dont match you with anyone never, because they made crossplay an base function of the game and some players dont even know that you can turn off.

Honestly I think they made the zombies that dumb on purpose, to keep it feeling fair.
idk, playing as nemesis i see a zombie stuck in a tree the entire match
they didnt bother to do a single line of code for like : if zombie dont move x meters for x seconds then respawn
-
one time in the tutorial i tried to hide in a locker till every gen was completed, then the AI randomly walked all the map and got me out of it, on that day i thought "Bro this is so op, if they did an AI and you didnt knew as a player you would try to hide and the bot would pin point you", well the cheaters made it.
Meanwhile nemesis zombies get stuck into ######### (but when they work they just pinpoint the heck outa of you and its annoying)

Did anyone over there actually think through what you are doing everytime you add more tome Challenges like "Cleanse 10 totems" or "Grab the White Glyph and take it to the basement" stuff?
You are causing people to join normal matches and do anything BUT the main objective of the game, which is the generators. We'll have people wandering around the map doing pointless crap for these poorly thought out Challenges, affecting our matches and frustrating the players actually trying to win and escape.
i swear people always do the basement one in my RPD matches, when you need them and get hooked you will see the person aura inside the basement lol

I have used this perk once and it didn't seem that good to me. I could be using it wrong though so what are your opinions on it. Is it strong and worth using or not?
its situational/good, on some maps unsafe pallets turn safe and this is huge, if a survivor is bad he will fall into a mindgame and the boon will not do much. Also, it helps on the HOLDING W strat

That's true... It might be worth it (to keep players playing the game)
But I can't say for certain
The vigil boon is probably the next on the list, there arent a lot of boon ideas to come up anymore, the only thing doable Right now, are grunts of pain, gen speed, or status effects. The way this game is going i fear a boon that will let people recover exaustion while sprinting
-
you know its bad when 4 man healing on CoH alone is better than 4 man healing themselves inside the boon, because the killer can pressure if there are more than one person healing.
You cant say its wasted time, because a kicked gen needs 4 seconds to remove 1 second so, 16 seconds healing just regressed 4 seconds of gen time. And the killer cant instant kick a gen or walk so it will always be better to heal with no problem.
Usually they will lose more time to hit you and regress the gen than you would take to heal, walk, repair the regressed time.
Worst case scenario for the killer he will stop patrolling to snuff a boon and cant find the boon, so the survs will heal and he will lose even more time.
Worst case scenario for survivor one of them will be found and get chased (so the boon will remain and 3 people heal) or the killer snuff (4 people remain injured and will put the boon up
-
Yeah i think yes, i made an 50 pages of recommended fixes some years ago and never got even heard, and some of these was so good they did it on their own (clown yellow bottle). Fixing the game is needed but the code doesnt allow them to do so, they need to "overwatch 2" the dbd code, and being open that they are doing that, so people understand they are not horsing around.
Some perks need to get switched off and fused with other weaker perks, after that we can rework the greyed out perks. This would reduce the grind immensly

What does Artist have to do with Sadako? The bio of Artist says "reconnaissance killer" which is a fancy word for tracking so makes sense. Giving Sadako a mini whispers does not help her IMO like something else would.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2850793#Comment_2850793
Sadako is not weak....She also is not Sprit, Artist, Nurse, etc level which is fine. The issue I see with her is to much help in multiple areas could push her into the oppressive level. I just think the safe bets are touching up the condemnation not making mori's happen more just increasing the level of slowdown, or something very small to help with chase. I am fine with both honestly.
i think some tv placements should not be put in the hands of rng, sometimes they are all stacked in one side of the map or facing walls.

I actually like the idea. It would be a built in tracking, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. We could call Artists birds built in tracking too as you can easily find out which gens are being worked on, and they force the survivors to make a choice and either tank a hit or leave the gen
Sadako knowing there's no one around (in just like 16meters range?) doesn't seem over the top imho and survivors have the choice of turning of the tv by themselves too if they want to
well if she cant chase at least the tracking part should be good, map pressure is not mobility, is getting people out of position and giving them activities. The artist i feel the same as you, when i am playing killers the crows i can use for tracking if i see them flying i never HEARD them going off (exceptions from swamp maps, the crows on the main building are clearly audible)

She could use some small touches here or there but the Tv's not turning off if no survivors were near is now a built in tracking unit and COULD make her over the top. Honestly I think the safest change that I hope would put her to A-tier (On everyone's list) would be a SMALL speed boost when manifesting. Small enough so they don't mess with her movement speed while manifesting/demanifesting but significant enough help a bit on strong tiles (Which is the biggest complaint about her the chase).
maybe you are right, but you can do that already if the survivors has no condemnation stack and you teleport. And you are right once again, the manifestation thing is not polished enough, like you cant charge demanifest a little and then hit (for mindgames) or charge and then jump window. Even when you manifest it takes some seconds to be able to hit. It would not be a major buff but would be better, PH can fake his power easily and he is good at chases, she cant .-.

I wanted to see other ppl opnions on this topic because as a killer main who already got P3 and all perks on every killer then followed Mathieu's advice (play something else) i can't really recommend this killer to others...
She is not really fun to play as she has nothing special other than being able to walk through survivors and teleporting feels really clunky because you can't really tell exactly where the TV is nor the side its facing and on top of that u cant even move your camera during the animation...
In the end she is just a M1 killer with no chase potential, no insta down and a long cooldown teleport that can be prevented by survivors, instantly removing any form of potential map pressure she might have.
I must say that im just playing her because she is new and i wanna P3 her and find the best build possible, however she is boring as clown, Freddy and Wraith are more interesting to play (even tho they are extremely bland too), and once i get there, i'll probably stay away from DbD until next chapter.
she is balanced i guess, not that strong and most of the times she gets overwhelmed by the map and his abnormal loops, but that is because the game is unbalanced in his general properties. If looping and perks were better balanced (mmr too) she would be a viable killer, right now a killer that isnt broken is just weak because the survivors have the tools to be broken and they use it most of the times
-
@GeneralV said:
Well, good thing I speak Portuguese.
While you do present some interesting ideas, I disagree with everything you've said about Freddy. We are already stuck with a watered down version of his new and boring power, and those changes would make him even worse.
Not to mention that a hitbox reduction would literally make him the only killer in the game with a reduced hitbox on his M1, which is definitely not balanced.
i agree with you, the patch i made for freddy was before the "rework" so it was when he was still strong, adding any of my ideas to this new freddy will unbalance him since i made that when the character was is anothe category. Thanks for reading

It would be such a massive buff to him if they made the laceration metre never decay.
That's the biggest change he needs, along with main event being actually useful.
With these changes he could be a good killer.
everyone says that if the laceration dont deplete he will 99 survs, but i dont see this going as bad as ghostaface would be. Also its dumb that he cant use Play with your Food because every time you throw you lose tokens(bruh). I was testing and even play with your food tier 1 with 1 token is already a great improvement like for pressure and positioning to throw.
Changing his speed would make him more reliable the way it is now makes me feel carried by the perks

Trickster > Legion
New Trickster's power is more consistent than Legion's. Legion should be no more than a low C-tier because of how inconsistent their power is. Trickster is at least able to counterloop some tiles. Legion is a basic M1 killer outclassed by Myers. Slowdown ability? Sure. But don't expect to hit everyone across the map with your power. Myers can one-hit all survivors for 60 seconds with easier setting up. Plus, his t3 at least gives him a bigger lunge and faster vault speed. Legion isn't much compared to him. Keep in mind you can only down survivors by M1ing them. Plague does Legion's job better, and Doc has better slowdown and tracking abilities. That's why I think Legion is the weakest killer in the game.
i cant even process what are you saying bro, the plague is weaker than legion on console by far, the mending gives us more time to chase and the instinct shows survivors. with the plague they just dont heal and gen rush and she is too visible in loops making legion easier to mindgame.
as i said having to land 7 throwables in console is harder than in pc so maybe to you the trickster is better.

It's maybe because you are console, but on pc you can chain together health states, and rip people to shreds in a matter of seconds. I know fps is a big thing on console esp with the controller, and with his slight recoil being a problem on console. In general he is not a bad killer he is low B. You can down people with knives in any loop, but try actually not chasing at strong tiles with him. Believe me it's efficient that way. That's why with deathslinger you do not want to chase at strong tiles, because deathslinger is also hurt by strong tiles. Huntress is also hurt by strong tiles.
the thing i have with huntress and DL is that i can 4k with them and not with the trickester, they just need to hit once and thats it, most of the time people will leave the loop and they have better POV because of the height helping in some tiles. The trickster i have to land 7 knifes and yeah the recoil and blindness because of his swinging arms are real

I only m1 if they are going to vault a long wall or an l and t if I know I can't damage a health state. I prefer not to chase at those tiles though. Trickster excels in finding people out of position. I will most likely throw some games together with commentary since I can't stream it at the moment. To teach people how to play him right.

@GodLikeTerror said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/243167/sadly-the-trickster-is-weak
Okay let me explain this simply. M1 actually downs them slower. You can chain health states together since he has zero cooldown in between throws. Meaning you can chain them to death in a matter of seconds. M1 actually hinders you if you are close to them. You never want to m1 unless you absolutely have to. Do I really have to teach you guys how to use this man right? If it gets people to stop thinking he is weak I will...
i know that we get stuck in the hit animation and they get the speed boost but when you do the first laceration on console you can chain 3 knifes more at max and then until you are able to put in the rest of the knifes you lose more time than normal chasing. His power is pretty gimmick like the more hits you get in the more you want to down using his power and in some loops you just cant. But this is my console experience
-
@gatsby said:
I feel like the key to balancing Trickster is making Main Event actually powerful
even if main event was powerfull i dont think people will use his knifes as it is, most of the time you could hit and if that doesnt happen the maximum of knifes you can get in is 3 before the break the line of sight.

@TheClownIsKing said:
Should this game simply move to a respawn mechanic?
I get why the hooks exist as a horror trope, and as a nod to the influences that led to the implementation of them into this game.
But when we look at the vast list of complaints coming from both sides, most of those can be linked all the way back to the hook system.
What if after a down the survivor instead “dies”, and a timer starts whereby the other remaining survivors need to reach one of 4 randomised respawn “stations” that are unseen by the killer? A downed survivor can be respawned into the game twice, with the third down summoning the entity (as done from the ground in the EGC). If however a “dead” survivors respawn timer expires before another survivor reaches a respawn “station”, this also leads to permanent death.
Let’s look at the problems that the hook system contributes to.
SURVIVORS -
- Hook Camping. Although survivors are NOT entitled to 2 additional chances, most behave like a killer should always allow them to be unhooked twice. This understandably leads to lots of frustration for survivors on the hook when a killer chooses to camp. A respawn mechanic would get rid of this frustration.
- Mori off of first hook, and Tunnelling. Mori’s are only as infuriating as they are for many survivors because of the strategy most killers use when a mori is at play: hook camping & tunneling. It’s not uncommon for a killer to intentionally remain close to a hooked survivor on their first hook, with intent to immediately down them the moment they’re unhooked so that they can be mori’d. Even without mori, plain outright tunnelling is always a miserable experience for the survivor that has been targeted, and DS does little to address this other than giving that survivor a few more seconds in the game. A respawn mechanic replacing the hook system would alleviate these gripes, and a Mori after first respawn would not seem as unfair.
- Slugging. Indirectly, hooks contribute to this issue due to killer time constraints (more on this in the killer section). But the bigger issue is when killers do this for seemingly no reason than to be spiteful, and watch survivors bleed out. The game only makes it possible for killers to choose to grief this way because of the necessity to leave survivors in the dying state sometimes because it simply takes too long to carry and hook in some circumstances.
- BBQ. Yeah in most instances this is usually easy to counter, and survivors usually caught out by it have been lazy. But there can also be many frustrating instances where you’re simply no where near a locker, and simply too far away to reach the 40m “safe” zone either. Plus some killers use the particularly nasty combo of BBQ, Infectious, and Iron Maiden making it borderline impossible to avoid detection if you unfortunately do not have Calm Spirit equipped. BBQ wouldn’t need to exist if a killer has no choice but to go look for another survivor because there is no one to camp if a respawn mechanic existed.
KILLERS -
- Gen rushing & Slugging. With how absurdly fast coordinated teams can get gens repaired in higher ranks, slugging on a regular basis is usually necessary. Why? Because once a killer reaches higher ranks it takes far too long carrying every downed survivor to a hook whilst 3 other survivors are still free to work on gens. It’s ridiculous that a killer engaging in a core part of their gameplay can actually be what LOSES them the match.
- Flashlight saves. Firstly, get off your high horse. It doesn’t matter how good of a killer you are, sometimes you’ve downed someone nowhere close to a wall or obstruction you can look at before a pick up, and you can be diligent checking the area for other survivors with flashlights, yet still end up blinded during the pick up. It’s frustrating, and obnoxious, and is a HUGE set back for the killer. It’s a wasted chase, and survivors have few comparable set backs.
- The myriad of second chance perks. DS would have no reason to exist if it isn’t possible for a killer to know where a survivor was that they had recently successfully ended a chase against. It also wouldn’t unfairly punish killers that aren’t actually purposely tunnelling the same survivor. It would simply be unfortunate bad luck if the killer happened to spot the same survivor again, which would likely be incredibly rare if a respawn “station” mechanic existed.
the game that behaviour gave up on making had this mechanic of respawns
