But where’s the drawback though? It’s wall hacks and wraith has really good mobility unlike scratched mirrors Myers and Amanda’s letter piggy

Those add-ons are bad, like really bad, if you're not playing a meme build. With Pig you lose 3/4 of her power to delay the game or kill survivors and you have to be crouched to use it, with Myers, you can't tier up to use his instadown, and you can't chase because you're slower than a survivor. There's a reason nobody uses those add-ons seriously.

  • Oscar Wilde wrote something to the extent of "Give a man a mask and he'll show you who he truly is"

The relative anonymity of the internet allows people who are toxic to be toxic without having to face the ramifications of their actions. If you said some of those things to a person on the street, you might get hit for that behavior, people around you might stop associating with you, you could lose your job, etc.

But here on the internet, the worst that happens is that you get banned. So if they don't care to keep playing the game, if they think they can get away with it, or they have an alt account to fall back to, in any of these cases they face little consequence for their actions.

DBD is inherently antagonistic with the gameplay, the 4v1 can lend itself to the mob mentality where someone feels like they have the okay to be toxic because they are in the more numerous group. While the 1v4 can lend itself to the underdog mentality where one feels like they can be toxic to the people because they outnumber them, and clearly they must be the bullies. All of these are intensified if the person involved lost and doubly so if the behavior of the opposition could be deemed rude or underhanded.

Or maybe I'm just spouting nonsense? I'm not a therapist, I'm not qualified to understand why people do what they do.

  • I think its fine where it is, its value is that it offers Wraith a solution to stealth at the cost of a Very Rare Add-on. Very Rare add-ons should be pretty powerful. However I'd be willing to settle by making it an iri offering and switch it with the claxcombed clapper.

  • All insta-down killers have a problem with the Chaser emblem if you rely too much on the insta-down, since it literally cuts your chases in half. I had the same issue with Bubba when I did his, I had to make an effort to not chainsaw everyone, but to also m1 some healthy survivors too, in order to get more chaser points.

yeah latency seems to in favour of the killer quite alot (check the vid the bloodstains appear at the same time) and ive seen other survivors getting hit like that in my matches too, its not only me experiencing that bruv. Get red ranks and we might talk again

edit: wbu dropping pallets and getting hit anyway that also latency? smart boi forgetting that this game still had bugged af animations last year or vault setbacks and its still ridiculed by bugs

No the pallet hit is from dropping the pallet too late. The killer was already in hit range and swinging, you dropped the pallet, the hit registers because if there was no pallet it would be a hit, then the pallet stun pushes the killer to the far side of the pallet since they can't occupy the same place as a pallet.

However if you're playing killer you can be stunned by a pallet or head-on-ed like 5 feet away from the visible hit range (from your perspecive, but probably looked fine to the survivor), because latency is fun like that.

All online games have similar issues, like swearing you should have shot the other guy first in a FPS, but on his kill screen you shot second. Its the same thing that creates the "peaker's advantage" in fps games.

  • Why should they let you play killer while your being punished for DCing? Kind of defeats the purpose of punishment.

And with the first point I disagree, a DC is a DC. If we lighten the punishment based on time in game, it removes the ability for a killer to slug for a 4k, which makes the adept achievements much harder. Since the slug can just DC and be lightly punished.

Honestly the DC penalties are fine if you aren't intentionally DCing from matches

So it's going to end right before the new chapter drops? That's sadge. I wanted crowns for all the new characters. It would have been a great time to farm the event, too - tons of activity.

Crowns are only for original characters from DBD, licenced characters cannot get crowns

  • I enjoy securing the down. Most chases are repettitive, we loop this loop until a mind game works, the pallet is used, windows blocked or a hit happens. Then we repeat this for every other chase.

I think this is why I like fake pallet Freddy, it makes it feel less repettitive if I did my prep work, and it feels like I out played them via preparation.

Yes, man. That's... exactly my point.

And so the next question becomes: Why are there more Survivor players?

Not just "more Survivor players," either, but... Why are there SO MANY more Survivor players? The ratio to start a game is 4:1. And it's no problem. And as others have said, there are EIGHT TIMES more Survivor players than Killer players. That's TWICE the required ratio.

    And so...

    Why is that?

Some have one theory, others have another...

Allow me to give you an answer, people like playing games with their friends. When I had friends that still played this game, I mostly played survivor. Then they stopped playing for various reasons, and I started playing killer. Been a killer main for about a year now. I venture to say that most survivors are in a SWF, at least a 2 man, versus solo queue.

Also bonus round: survivor is a more chill experience than killer, its kinda the nature of a 1v4 game. Killer can't (normally) chase 4 people at once, so its mostly chill until its your time to be chased.

    Fifth- Learn to read.

I am talking about my experience and my rank. I said it multiple times.

And this is much more stats than what i can take from the game (0).

Just pointing out how to improve stats. Because bad stats are worse than no stats at all.

But anyway fifth, taken from your own post:

    CONCLUSSIONS:            .

    - Solo Q is not balanced (22,5 % win rate for survivors). Balance would be around 50 %.

    - Killers vs Solo Q at purple sometimes red ranks: 78´25 % win rate for killers.

    - 30´4 % of the games survivors finish all gens and are able to open doors.

These conclusions are not shown by your numbers as they only account for your data.

A more accurate conclusion would be "My teams as a solo survivor have a 22.5% win rate"

  • You don't have enough data to draw any significant conclusions about solo queue.

Firstly, you don't have any comparison to an attempt with a SWF to show that its not actually an issue with survivors.

Secondly, the map you play on is a big factor, so to make useful stats, you would have to do this for all the maps. (This of course discounts map RNG)

Thirdly, you only have your data points, you would need data points across all ranks and ability levels to make conclusions about Solo queue.

Fourth, there is no mention of perks, items or killer add-ons that might modify the game.

In short, this game has a lot of variables that make it hard for an individual to keep any sort of data in regards to balance.

is this an argument to what i said? clearly you skipped the part about "BEING REALISTIC" also i dont think it works like taht, i dont think those stack up at all.

It does stack, its dumb, but it does work

  • Iron will+ No Mither counters Stridor

Why you'd do this is beyond me, but its technically an option

  • Most of the Autohaven maps aren't bad, at least its not Haddonfield.

Anyway, what killer+addons+perks are you running?

  • Probably not, probably a latency issue. They probably had a high ping. The server had their old position and movement command, so they kept running in a direction, some data packets from them to the server were slow or lost. So when the server finally got the information on their location it was after you hit them, the server confirmed the hit was valid, but then the server got new their location that they ran to on their machine and it updated their position. Thus they appear to teleport.

Ever notice how a survivor might not be down exactly where you hit them? This is the same thing, but with McDonalds WiFi.

  • I hate to say this, but you just kinda get used to it and you develop your own mechanism to handle it. I also run Franklins on several killers, just to eliminate med-kits and flashlights from play.

However last night was a prime moment for me, I had a survivor who teabagged after every pallet, I was playing pig, that kate got a couple of slow motion teabags when I downed her for the last time.

  • You have my signature, perhaps give huntress or trickster some throwing spoons too.

  • Corn Blindness affects us all. I usually use sound or blood pools. I love stridor in general.

  • Self-care is just as efficient as being healed by another survivor.

32 seconds for a Self Care

16 seconds to be healed by another survivor, however there are 2 survivors spending time on this. The healer and the injured.

In-efficiency stems from the time spent traveling to a corner of the map to heal/looking for another survivor to heal you or by healing too often in situations where it is not needed.

Bonus points: Self-Care + Resiliance, just 99% heal yourself, use that sweet, sweet buff, then finish the heal when threatened.

  • (Speculation ahead, I'm not a dev)

They don't want killer special attacks to interact with killer perks. Imagine how busted Surge would be if it worked on Bubba's chainsaw, or if Trickster's knives affected Save the Best for Last, or a Huntress cross-mapping a hatchet with Knockout.

  • It depends on RNG, matchmaking, SWF status and rank. So the answer to your question is yes, the game is killer or survivor sided, but you can't know which without entering the trial itself. At which time the fluctuating state collapses and one outcome is revealed.

  • Because rank is based on certian things done during the match, and you didn't do enough before you died. But I'm sure you know this already.

  • Disagree, I like the pink veins better than the boring old blood.

You do realize hooking takes time? Why do most of the people who post in this forum constantly show they don't even play the game?

Pro-tip: to save time, carry the survivor towards the gen(s) you intend to pressure.

As a (normally) red-ranked killer, I try to avoid slugging more than 1 person at a time. I only slug when there is another survivor immediately available, where I aim to injure the non-slug, and only commit if I think it'll take less than 20 seconds to down them

  • To be fair, unbreakable isn't super problematic if you aren't trying to mass slug everyone.

Old DS was problematic because it paired well with Unbreakable to create The Minute of Immortality, where you would DS the killer if they picked you up, or Unbreakable if they left you on the ground.

Dead Hard is problematic in different ways, mostly the Dead Hard for distance, which is an uncounterable way to gain distance to get to a pallet or a vault, not Dead Hard to dodge a hit as it was originally intended, which can be baited out.

  • Fake pallet Freddy reporting in:

From my perspective pretty much nothing has changed. I'm not digging the swing chains, or black box changes, jury is still out on the jump rope and outdoor rope changes.

  • Dude, use this as a chance to do the adept challenges you haven't done, try out weird perks, go perkless for a while, challenge yourself use this as a time for growth as a player.

  • Its probably my favorite information perk. You can see what gens are regressing, they go yellow when they stop regressing and survivors make more noise when repairing gens.

  • I love the indoor maps as killer. So, yeah.

  • Survivor queue times are shorter during the day because people are at work/school/busy, so people who are free are probably not able to play with friends, so they either solo queue or play killer.

So a better killer/survivor ratio online.

Also I would guess its faster to pull 4 solos, than it is to build teams when there are a bunch of 2 or 3 man SWFs.

  • It prevents a chase from starting, which denies the afk killer from getting bloodpoints. Which is probably intentional.

Just finish the match, report them and move on to the next match.

  • Nope, neither survivor nor killer gets to see the ranks in the lobby.

You would not believe the number of times I bullied low rank survivors because I had no idea that I didn't need to sweat like I do against the red ranks.

  • As a killer I'm allowed to tunnel anyone out of the game for any reason.

However Object of Obsession is built so the killer focuses on you. You can't really be suprised when the killer decides to use that against you.

Of course i can take kindred, and sometimes i do. But that consums 1 perk for survivors, who could just get another perk like dead hard, self-care or something.

Solo queue play with no vission or communication. They should receive some extra information, because we play blind get demolished majority of the games.

This is the way the game was originally designed, you can't really be upset over your lack of information if you don't run information perks.

Use items to make up for gaps in your build, such as a map for totem hunting or a med-kit for heals. Or play chest roulette to see if you get what you need.

Hi, Shroompy.I wrote it on another post.

As you, I think Solo Survivor must have extra information for playing more efficiently and having a real chance. I

I had suggested every solo would have a extra perk similar to Kindred. It´s frustrating when 0 people comes to rescue or all the team comes and it´s a party for the killer. I don´t know what´d be the most fair or balanced change, but definetely they must implement something.

I mean, you could just run Kindred. It would let your teammates see each other when you're hooked, and it would let you know what they're doing when someone else is hooked.

Don't overcomplicate it, kindred used to be a more common perk, but for some reason people shied away from it.

  • AMN isn't a good perk and no reasonable buff would fix it. Good (Safe) pallets generally get broken after they're thrown, unsafe pallets might get left behind. But is it worth the effort to pick up the unsafe pallets?

  • Fps games require precision in their hitboxes, since most have some damage multiplier for headshots vs body shots and some have modifiers for hitting limbs.

Meanwhile here in DBD the hit boxes are good enough, since the location of a hit is irrelevant. Besides most of the issues with "hitboxes" is actually just latency.

So maybe a week ago tru3t4a1ent uploaded a video on youtube from he's twitch stream showing a blatant cheater. Easy antigay46. He's just dropped in my lobby as bill with the gamepass lvl 70 bill outfit. Are the devs doing nothing. He probably had 2k viewers watching the cheater live followed by over 10k viewers on the youtube video. Why are the devs not ip banning this scrub or are they to busy designing cosmetics to care. Really shocking tbh

    1) You might want to remove the username, naming and shaming is against the forum rules.

    2) Thats probably a steam username, you can change those pretty much as often as you want, this might not be the same person.

I'm not talking about direct effect over a perk, but coherence. A calm spirit shouldn't be seeing imaginary doctors...

Calm Spirit makes you not scream, it doesn't make you less crazed by Doctor's shocks. You're still crazy, you're just not shouting it to the world.

  • Also you could just crouch walk up to a hook, like you do when playing against a hag.

Technically, you're correct they did nothing wrong. I'm aware of the sarcasm, but they broke no rules. Camping is allowed, its boring for all parties involved, but it is an intended mechanic and the way to punish it is to just do the generators and leave.

People have different schedules my guy. Plus, how does getting farmed off the hook against my will mean I'm bad. I'd love to hear your explanation for that one.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2165260#Comment_2165260

People farming others off the hook in the killer's face isn't good for the game. There's no way to convince me that you're right. It's flat out griefing and is even reportable. Problem there is that reporting people doesn't do anything.

As I understand it: Farming someone off a hook isn't greifing, and it (probably) isn't reportable.

Playing the game poorly isn't against the rules, it plays back to the theory of the game being player agency, where the player gets to decide if they want to be a team player, or out for themselves. They can choose to save you when they like, or they can even choose to let you die on hook. Farming is selfish and strategically unwise, but not against the rules

Them bodyblocking you in a corner for a significant amount of time, thats greifing and reportable.

  • I like the fake pallets, and Freddy is my favorite of the slasher horror icons.

  • Counterpoint: DEMO ACTIVATED

  • I'd give survivors the option to bleed out faster instead. I don't like "punish" mechanics, I'd rather give incentives to not slug 4 people, or at least let those 4 people die faster.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 13
