  • In this situation aim to get as many hits as you can. Hit someone, go back to the gen to get a new target. The gen is lost, but you can try to get them all injured or get a down or 2 out of it.

  • I can safely say that the next chapter is already decided. Is it Candyman? I don't know, I just know they work on more than one chapter at a time

  • I'd say the percentage is probably similar to the percentage of people who are LGBTQIA+.

(I apologize in advance if I missed any letters or if I got some out of order.)

  • I am interpreting that you're dying a lot trying to do a daily challenge. And you attribute this to people being red ranked killers making new accounts.

Did I get the gist of this thread?

  • When NOED goes off, when I'm a survivor, I have a foolproof strategy to surviving: I run through the exit gate.

  • I love Basement Bubbas, its a bad strategy that shouldn't work, but yet it does.

bro i freaking HOPE so, this matchmaking right now is so bad because there sso few killers they literallyt just stick us with ANYONE. like its super common for me to get RED RANK survivors in my killer games, and im still only 16--at best. I just tried huntress, had a daily challenge to kill 1 survivor. and the game is like "oh youre a lvl 1 huntress? here's rank 50 leon, his girlfriend, lvl 50 nea, and a lvl 50 jake. and they're all rank 9. go **** yourself. "

Also I'd re-roll the Kill one survivor by your hand daily. Especially for a high skill killer like Huntress if you don't have a lot of experience with Huntress.

Playing a new killer hurts, you don't get the nuance, you don't have the perks and you don't have a lot of add-ons to carry you. Its a grind to get to a point where you don't suck with them. I'm a red rank, pushing 800 hours and I still can't Huntress.

  • Yes, I hold grudges. The one that gets my goat is the aggressive DS. Where the survivor runs at you to force a DS play. I then tunnel that person out of the game.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

  • You should report this in the bug reporting section of the forums.

  • Clown. He and I share the same physique.

true not against the rules .. but u will lose people’s respect

You overestimate the value of other people's respect.

It was survivors that caused me to turn my Steam profile private.

Most of the people I have reported for chat abuse have been survivors.

I used to be of the thought that tunneling, camping and slugging were bad, since I started off as a survivor, and these are un-fun tactics. Overtime I came to realize that survivors don't care about your fun, they will say and do things with the direct intent to get you tilted. Now whatever happens, happens. I'll camp if I feel it will be useful, tunnel if I want to, and slug occasionally (can't risk those unbreakables).

  • Did we also forget to mention Nurse? She doesn't care about your pallets or hedge walls and she can just blink up to you on that second floor gen or the one in the house of pain.

  • I only allow snoot boops at the end of the game. 2 or less survivors alive or all gens are done. I used to respect the boop at all time, but some people just tried to use boops to avoid actually playing the match.

  • It did get a buff when Hillbilly and Cannibal got their reworks. Other than that there has been no recent buffs.

  • What would make a casual queue different from what we have now?

    Are we banning certian Killers/Perks/Maps/Items?

Is the idea to just ignore ranks, so a rank 20 and a rank 1 could be randomly matched together?

    Are we preventing Camping/Tunneling/Gen Rushing/SWF?

I don't think a casual mode could exist without barring content and mechanics of the game.

When I want to chill I bring my meme build and an understanding that I will die.

  • Blindness is the real useless debuff.

Oh no, you can't see auras, except for killer specific auras, like jigsaw boxes, or hooked survivors except for their scream bubble. This doesn't even factor in SWFs and external communication.

Also Hemmorage, you bleed more. Rarely do I think "You know, I could have tracked that survivor better if they bled more"

  • ^ What EntitySpawn said.

Reports for communication harassment get sent to a community manager along with the entire chat log. Therefore if the chat filter was just being overzealous you have nothing to be concerned about.

If you want to give feedback or make suggestions that the devs will see, post it in the Feedback/Suggestions part of the forum

Dear oh dear, how I love how people are crying here about swfs while guess what, after 2k hours, as a solo survivor, you will get a sweaty killer in pubs with all gen regression/tunneling 1 guy out of the game startegy once in 2 games, while your clueless team mates are running around the map, not doing gens and have no idea who's doing what.

Killers are facing sweaty SWFS once in a while but solo q survivors need to face the sweaty ruin/undying/pop/corrupt killers every 2 games in red ranks.

So please stop crying about "BUT BUT THEY HAVE DISCORD THEY CAN TALK", try and play solo Q survivor and I pormise you that no matter how good of a looper you are, once you get these noob team mates who just roam around the map and waiting to unhook asap you'll see how sad it is.

You don't have the sweaty SWF teammates because you're playing solo. Sweaty SWFs are, generally, a 4-piece. As such you wouldn't be likely to encounter them while playing survivor.

Playing red ranked killer, sweaty SWFs aren't super common, but the real sweaty ones are absolutely demoralizing. Like stop playing for the week bad.

  • Be one of my teammates. They never do anything and somehow don't get crows.

J/k my teammates carry my boosted butt through this game.

  • I reccomend turning the chat off, permanently. It's not worth the hassle.

Like one year ago or something like that, it used to be only 2 weeks.

A few chapters back they added the third week to the PTB. They mentioned it in some notes somewhere.

How far can these bans go? Days, weeks, or even perma?

As far as I know, the max ban for disconnecting is 72 hours.

The disconnect penalty is applied whether or not you intentionally disconnect to prevent people from circumventing the ban by just unplugging their internet or force killing their game. Blame the players in the past that abused the Leave Match button so much that they had to create a disconnect penalty.

You are responsible for the reliability of your connection, because this is inherently a multiplayer game and one person leaving is detrimental to the rest of the players in that trial.

  • Hex: Thrill of the Hunt makes a hex totem take longer based on the number of totems, both dull and hex, that remain uncleansed. Since Thrill also notifies the killer when you start work on a hex, doing dull totems reduces the time it would take to cleanse a real hex.

  • Tunneling- killer focuses on one survivor, even when presented with alternate targets. Often misused here..

Camping is correct, killer just hangs out near the hook. Face Camping is an outdated term, because a killer used to be able to body block an unhook by standing in front of the hooked survivor.

Noed: short for Hex: No One Escapes Death, killer perk that allows for insta-downs when the exit gates are powered. Very contreversial.

SWF- Survive With Friends. Survivors playing with their friends

DH- Dead Hard, Survivor perk from David

Slugging- killer leaving a downed survivor on the ground instead of hooking them. The downed survivor leaves a blood trail comprable to a slime trail from a slug

  • I actually like the SBMM, as a survivor my teammates feel more competent, and the games aren't resulting in one side getting demolished. As a killer, I haven't noticed much difference in the survivors they match me against.

  • Your pennance is 3 games of jump scare Myers. May the entity have mercy upon you.

  • @Davidex93 said:

I don't know if is "The 's" gramatically correct, but nevermind i think so does the Pyramid Head cage work like hook and following the same phases? if not won't be better buff it and let it doing that? that would be a good idea for the killer because there are so much counters about killers and even because Pyramid Head isn't played really much.

Yes, the cage works in the same stages and caging someone counts as a hook state.

Hook someone 3 times they die,

cage them 3 times they die,

hook them once and cage them 2 times they die.

    Etc.

  • I used the purple add on that increases the effect of the yellow bottles. Then used the yellow bottles alot and got it in the first trial.

    Individual results may vary

  • I do BBQ/Surge/Enduring/Sloppy on my fake pallet Freddy.

Then I run face first into every pallet.

  • RCPD is terrible from a gameplay perspective. Tight corridors, its labyrinth nature and multiple floors really make it a map thats hard to work with.

Finding gens can be terrible as a survivor, and there are essentially no lines of sight and being multiple floored it makes it difficult to know if the killer is about to be right behind you or on the floor above/below.

Mobility killers can't be mobile with the tight corridors and sharp turns.

Ranged killers are screwed by the sharp turns.

Stealth killers don't have many angles of approach, nor good lines of sight.

Trap killers are probably gods with how the corridors are shaped.

  • In bad games, I try to down a person in the end game, then I hard camp them. Its not nice, its not pretty, it doesn't always work, but its an attempt to please the entity.

  • You can't balance the game without SBMM. Without accurate ranking of participants in a match, who can say whether a player is boosted by aiming for emblems, by tunneling someone out early, or by playing the most powerful meta they can. A current red rank game can be a mixture of people of less than 50 hours to more than 5000 hours, the difference in knowledge and skill are massive.

With good matchmaking trends could be established, where you could show that in a fair match with equally skilled players that one side has the edge if another, or that some maps are busted, that some killers perform better than others, or what perks lend themselves to more successful gameplay. All of this while being able to say that the data isn't compromised by bad matchmaking.

  • In short: If you're trying to heal yourself, you're not being tunneled.

It turns off when you begin to take any action that progresses the game. You can still heal through Second Wind or by entering a locker with Inner Strength, assuming you met the conditions for those to be ready, or by being healed by a teammate. There are options to heal while having DS up, or you can choose to forgo the DS in favor of healing yourself.

the game being balanced around the killer slowing survivors down as much as possible is a perfect example of this games poor design

Except if you balance the game with the expectation that the killer isn't using gen regression perks, then Pop and Ruin become OP. They'd still be used even if they aren't needed, because everyone likes to win.

DBD is complex to balance. Map adjustments and spawn changes are probably the better route.

This is exactly it right here, sometimes you have no choice but to only do one thing and leave. Why should that survivor be punished for things out of their control?

If I happen to down all the survivors at the same time because they ran head first into a blood-furied Oni, a T3 meyers, bubbas chainsaw, or they made bad life choices, why should I de-pip for hooking them and ending the game there? I cannot control the bad choices the survivors make, I'm just doing my objective.

Its just how the emblems work, sometimes as the killer you have to actively ignore a survivor and let them save their friends, so that way you can get emblems (and bloodpoints). Sometimes as a survivor you have to let the killer find you and at least take a hit so you you can give a teammate altruism points, as well as your evader points.

Emblems are flawed and they will eventually get re-worked or phased out. You just gotta deal with it.

  • I just got Adept Oni, and it was possibly the worst adept so far. You don't get any gen regression, tracking perks, or useful chase perks. None of his perks synergize well with his power and his power is an insta-down, so you can't use it too much or you don't get the chaser points you need.

Willy Wonka is the next killer? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I'd pay for that DLC. I think Grandpa Joe should be the survivor though...

  • Lethal Pursuer is useful on some killers that need an aggressive early game, such as: Plague, Oni, Legion, Nemesis, Ghostface, and Meyers. Where the ability to find a survivor quickly can strongly impact your power in the early game.

I'd use it in the place of Corrupt Intervention in a build.

  • Probably 2-3 hours at a time is my limit most days.

I'm having a hard time reconciling the fact that I want to P3 all the characters, yet I also want all the perks available to me, but I don't want to waste bloodpoints doing level 50 bloodwebs on p1 characters to have the perks while they wait to be prestiged..

  • The obvious counter arguement is that you are disregarding body positivity and reinforcing unrealisitc body standards. People come in all shapes and sizes, as such there is diversity in the physical makeup of characters.

But this is bait thread, so I shall rely on my previous statement that the Clown is truly superior than any other character.

Follow up: Demogoron is the next ideal body. Look at their smile, with all those lovely teeth. They have the height and the arms to be able to dunk without jumping, they are a dream basketball player. Their shred would make them a force to be reckoned with as a Football Lineman. They also have the lung capacity of an opera singer, and a voice to go with it.

  • 0/10 bad bait.

The OP forgot that Clown exists. Clown could have been Americas Next Top Model, but he's on a mission from The Entity. Clown has it all, the looks, the laugh, the brains, the talent, and a chronic breathing condition (everyone loves an underdog story).

Look at how majestic he is as he steps through a window, how he spins his knife after a hit, and how he can lob bottles of mysterious liquids with pinpoint accuracy.

  • Nope, it is not bannable. Holding the game hostage would be a situation where the game cannot come to an end. Such as if you managed to trap all living survivors in a room with one doorway, then blocked the doorway. The game would go on indefinitely or until people dc out.

But it is rude to slug everyone to death.

  • I reply to all salt with agreement. 3k and a Hatch and they say EZ, I hit them with "I know, right? I thought it would have been harder." Then I leave.

I get 1 hook and they say EZ, I agree. Then I tell them glhf.

They call me a camper or a tunneler, I agree, then add "but it works".

The secret to beating the salt is indifference, even if you need to fake it. They want a reaction, don't give them one.

If they go beyond the salt into slurs, death threats, etc. just report them for coms abuse and move on. Let them be judged by BHVR and move on with your day.

  • If you can run the killer for 3 gens, why would they not tunnel you out of the game?

You're injured so you go down in 1 hit and you've been hooked at least once. If the killer wants to salvage the game, after losing 3 gens, they need someone dead.

  • When are you making the PTB drinking game?

  • As a killer main, Old DS was busted; but new DS might be a little weak. Adding either a self-preservation effect, or a Sprint Burst effect (minus the added exhaustion) would probably make it better.

  • The SWFs have been so bad in the past week that I have stopped bringing cakes as the killer, since its not worth wasting the cakes. Its also to the point where I'm contemplating either playing only Stridor Spirit or just taking a break until the event ends.

I recognize that people like playing with their friends. I think SWF is good for the game, but I also think its a broken mechanic that allows way more coordination than was planned for. There is no warning that you're facing a SWF, there is no reward for playing against a SWF, there is no Hex:Disable Voice Chat, and killers can't switch in the lobby to a better killer. All you can do is guess and dodge lobbies, because it could be 4 solos, it could be a few friends looking to have fun, or it could be a sweat squad.

Also Franklins doesn't destroy items anymore, only gets rid of charges, and keys can be used when they're out of charges to open the hatch.

So no, SWF is not fine. Keys are not fine. Spirit is not fine. Matchmaking is not fine. I'm reserving my judgment on Wraith and Mikeys tombstone add-ons.

  • Honestly, I think I'm done bringing cakes. Both sides are toxic af right now, and I'm not going to reward either of them

  • Nope, I'm a killer main and I mostly get killer challenges.
