There's just so many ways for survivors to mess with the killer. The entire game as the killer you just feel like you're chasing a stupid carrot on a stick dangling infront of your head but you know you're never gonna get that carrot and that carrot is getting all the entertainment in the world
It's like the entire game is designed with the torturing of the killer in mind. The killer is just the plaything for 4 survivors who have ZERO fear of the killer whatsoever. That's the game at red ranks
The killer should never have survivors WILLINGLY run at him, that's a joke
The power dynamic is completely reversed past rank 5 honestly
No wonder survivor queue times are so long and all the red rank survivors constantly get matched up against purple and higher rank killers. It's because all or most of the red rank killers stop playing because IT'S. NOT. FUN.
You're not proxy camping enough and you would need to prioritize tunneling.

Would you say it's fair to say half of BHVR's work (in some capacity) on DBD considering it is their main game (other than Mobile DBD)?

I tend to hover between ranks 4-6 and I feel what holds me back is my inability to run a killer for any more than 30 seconds at most. I have watched one friend who is really good at, and have only gone from not being able to loop, to be able to loop once or twice for those 30ish seconds. Also, were you just immediately a godly looper, or did it take you time, and if so how long? My best loops are usually the Demogorgons! Note: I refuse to use dead hard after listening to everyone complain about how broken the perk is. All feedback is appreciated.
Don't use dead hard, it's not the top tier exhaust perk. Sprint Burst will always be of service and Lithe is the 2nd best option if you wish to better control when you want to sprint.
Always use the long walls except against blight, billy, huntress or possibly trickster (depending on wall height). These killers can counter the long wall loop.
Attempt to use the window up to 3 times before moving over to the pallet. Plenty of players will bemoan an early pallet. Yes it does impact late game, but it really doesn't matter if your goal is to run the killer for five gens. All pallets are your pallets.
Stay on the opposite side of the loop at all times. Prepare to change directions with the killers, and learn to have your survivor face AWAY from the killer for those successive moments of redirection.
Once you drop a pallet, try to move beyond the next loop, not the immediately available pallet loop next to where you just dropped one. You want to capitalize on time and space, so simply moving to the nearest pallet is inefficient (depending on a situation with Cannibal or whatnot). Move to the NEXT loop over; this way, you can retreat BACK as needed to that skipped loop, and you can MAINTAIN THE FREEDOM TO MANEUVER.
Remember this golden rule: Always move away, not around the loop, if you can help it. Don't spend so much time on a jungle gym, because the killer is taking the time to learn about your defense mechanism. Also bloodlust is a means of brute forcing a hit when you're there for too long.
Break the chase = break bloodlust. You don't want the killer to capitalize on time and space, so try to break line of sight often enough that a new chase starts. That's a pallet's strength.
If the killer does not immediately break the pallet, use the long wall to FORCE that pallet break. Once you know the killer committed to breaking the pallet, take advantage of the time and skip a loop. Hopefully you're in a position where you can break bloodlust too.
Your safety is a number one priority when running loop after loop. Learn when things are becoming unsafe. Tombstone Mikey is an easy example to prepare for. Why hasn't he hit tier three yet? NOED is another threat to your escape. Have you run 3 gens? 4? Beware.
Running the killer for five gens is possible. It's going to require that you drop pallets, so try to use the unsafe pallets in between the safer loops if the killer is starting to close distance. Not always ripe, but the conditions can present themselves and you'll be glad that pallet is there (I'm looking at you, pallet behind the Dead Dawg Saloon).
If your team is skillful, they are watching you. They are possibly following the killer with a flash light and prepared to help you. Four generators were completed and the good team knows. They want to help you and they are going to help you when the opportunity presents itself so have faith that your team isn't sitting on their asses only holding M1. If you do go down, you might see their aura and realize they are in close proximity. Crawl to the pallet. Recover if it's too far.
When you do start running for 3+ gens, you are going to fall down hard and a good team will be there to pick you up. This isn't a 1v1, it's always a 1v4, so don't despair. Unless your team is potato. Then you should despair a little and hope you aren't about to get tunneled.

Got nothing against the perk, think it's quite neat especially to get the pressure going early. But what are you suppose to do when you spawn in a dead zone and the killer spawns near you too. Just had a game against a Blight and already getting rushed and whacked 2 seconds into the game, and because it's Blight I'm not making it to anywhere with a loop or window.
Ever since these map reworks dead zones are too common and because of this it gives little to no counterplay as soon as you spawn in so it's GG
Give me an unsafe Pallet over nothing anyday

I'm a rank 1 killer and I am tired of having to sweat, use certain killers, and use certain perks. I want to depip from rank 1 to at least 15 where its more chill, I can play around with other killers, and play around with more perks etc.. Could I be Banned for throwing games and depipping for this?
If you play normally, without all the high tier stuff then you'll be depipped/deranked into lower brackets. If you intentionally sit out a dozen games, you're at-risk for being reported.
Farming will likely result in safety pips after you leave ranks 1 and 2, so simply play other killers until the playing field levels out.

People finally became accustomed to his skillset and ability, literally. Wish people gave Hawkins more time to become accustomed as well.

It's a scoring system that sets a goal of what you want to be under based on the difficulty of the challenge and course. Par, therefore, means what is to be expected. It does not necessarily equate "good."
That's part and parcel of phrases.
BLARHGHAGERARALGLE it means acceptable or average, which is otherwise good. Sure, it's not better nor the best and it's certainly not fantastic, but par is good and otherwise within the scope for expectations of skill and ability of that scoring system.

There are for example: Electro, poison, traps, gas, viruses, chainsaws, chains, harpoon, axes, knives, clubs, throwing knives and so on. But what we don't have yet is some kind of: Burned status effect and the corresponding element or weapon. Wouldn't that be something cool ? What do you think?

In the beginning of the match there is nothing else to do then gens. So one gets chased while 3 survivor do gens. Then after the first down, one is hooked, another is rescuing and healing and a third one gets chased. And with that the gen progress slows down, if the killer can keep up with the hooking.
I personally see it only as an average start when two gens get done before the first hook. 1 gen or less is a good start for the killer and three gens or more is a good start for the survivor.
How many gens should be done before the first hook in your opinion? What is realistic, what would be fair?
2 gens on first hook is par.

There's no creative juices left. We aren't getting new zones or even new maps with existing zones. Scourge hooks might be kinda fun, but they're only complex amalgamations of existing mechanics.

Ok here is your problem, you're thinking it's mean to be used to dodge a hit thus the latency etc part of your post.
You're meant to use it to loop as greedily as possible and the moment killer makes a correct mindgame, you use it to gain that little distance to reach the pallet and extend the chase for X amount of time until you make a mistake again.
That's what makes one of the best if not the best exhaustin perk.
Third tier exhaust perk, surpassed by sprint burst, lithe and even head on.
-
@thefallenloser said:
Okay, hear me out...
Dead Hard's effectiveness is completely overblown, IMO. I think it's only the third best exhaustion perk. Sprint Burst is just better in almost every way and Lithe gives more distance and is much more consistent.
I admit that when used smartly, Dead Hard is pretty effective at extending loops, however, Dead Hard has a ton of weaknesses that people are quick to write off.
- It is severely dependent on latency. The timing sweet spot to effectively dodge a hit can greatly vary from killer to killer and sometimes not even work. Very cool exhausted on the ground.
- It gives way less distance than the other exhaustion perks, hence using less of the killer's time to catch up.
- Its dodging mechanic is ineffective after the killer finds out they have it, or assume they have it and wait.
- It is effectively useless in dead zones. Dodging or making an additional 5 feet of distance is going to do nothing for the survivor other than take an additionally 2 seconds in the corner of the map with no pallets or windows.
I've seen people make the weird claim that "Dead Hard extends chases for minutes at a time." If the Dead Hard extended a chase for that long-- which is definitely a complete exaggeration that says more about the killer's skill than the strength of the perk-- why would you continue to give chase?
I think a good Sprint Burst or Lithe are much harder to deal with than Dead Hard.
_______
After that NOED post, I can only imagine what this one will do...
Not only all that, but dead hard is conditional. You must be injured to use it, and injured state can be bypassed by a few killers and perks.
Nothing brings me greater joy than chainsawing a David within ten seconds of a trial.

that comment was more aimed to real life issues as well, not just dbd, but i will admit it'd make life playing this game a lot easier if i could just not get tilted.
unironically, when this game gets too annoying i just move to playing just dance instead. im not exactly... physically fit, and most times i try doing anything sports wise i get reminded of that, but just dance seems to be the one game that doesn't make me feel awful about myself :D
i dont think being the one person in my family who's been absolutely hammered by the covid vaxx has helped much- they all got off fine, i only got the first dosage and i got bedridden with nausea and now i have a constant headache. hopefully it'll go away soon- meant to after a week
Vaccines a personal choice. Immunity is another personal choice. Keep the sick away from the healthy and all the epidemiology jazz. I know people are sensitive to this kind of rhetoric, but I'll also add that people should be free to choose a vaccine if they want to avoid the nasty illness and it really sucks when they get a nasty illness anyways. I know people who don't have the vaccine and got sick and people who have the vaccine *and had COVID afterwards anyways*. I don't know anybody that didn't have some minor reaction to the vaccine.
Keep up the health! Nutrition, hydration, and occasional exercise, complex proteins and fats may help you recover sooner :)
Also, short breaks from this game can really help loosen up the tension between trials.
Good luck with your next dosage!

This is not completely true I found a survivor chased for a minute or so hooked them 3 gens pop. I was maybe 2 minutes into the match probably less
Your starting patrol needs a little fine tuning and adjustment. 3 gens likely means you found someone right away and didn't kick or check the nearby generator. It's not quite par. Basically, the killer should always be taking up more than one survivor's time at any point during a trial and applying that pressure with some finesse as the trial develops. Despite popular sentiment, it's not a 1v1 game.

It goes a lot deeper than that. People BM the hell out of you in a lot of your matches, just because you can't see what they are saying doesn't mean you don't know they are mocking you. And being mocked is not a good feeling.
If you're console, sure. But you can also block incoming messages and set it to friends only.
Toughen up, cupcake. It's a big world out there and nobody's responsible for your feelings except you. There are much worse crimes against humanity than distasteful comments from people you don't know and won't ever interact with again.

I don't often get a chance to use it to save people. I typically use it to pull killer attention immediately at the start of a trial and score the 500 boldness every 120 seconds. Otherwise it's better to take alexs toolbox.

It is 100% disheartening when you are one of two survivors left with the experience and know how to not group up and do stupid things, and the other person has no, erm, gonads. So you're like "Alright let me die now" and you actually hit that 12% chance of unhooking yourself just for the killer to come back immediately and get you. I have had the WORST kind of killer down the whole group and I was over the game so I walked up to him and begged to be downed. Again, in the process of trying to die, I got the KOBE!!! This man tried to farm points from me and I refused, so after all my friends died he took me to the hatch. More people need to be like that, respect the KOBE. Don't just assume they are running Deliverance (had a killer down me because he thought that was the case and then apologized for disrespecting the KOBE). It's a bit stupid to waste a perk slot for that...

It really isn't a choice. It's either have no gen pressure, or face NOED. There needs to be a better way for solos to communicate where bones are, and how many have been cleansed, as I can cleanse 4 dull totems, but then the last one that was cleansed by my team can have me on a wild goose chase for 10 minutes. Solo queue needs buffs, or NOED needs changed, that's my stance on this.
That's a subjective opinion. Do bones or risk NOED.
-
@WexlerWendigo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2453456#Comment_2453456
All it takes is 1 well hidden totem on the swamp, any other big maps, etc to make it a complete waste of time and cost your team the game. It’s simply not possible in solo queue to check every nook and cranny and still win.
That's hypothetical to the conditions needed to clear NOED and antithetical to the solution, which is to do bones. It is 100% possible to do all that you described. Not being very good at it might give someone like yourself the impression it's not possible, but it's is certainly possible with effort. You have to pay attention to find them.
The hardest map regarding this is the swamp maps, where the bones can spawn anywhere on the perimeter. Only in this case would doing bones be very difficult to achieve during EGC; in that case, it means survivors weren't doing bones during the majority of the trial and brought the conditions upon themselves and created a risky EGC. Most survivors will open the gate and leave, but it's not impossible to find the bones if EGC hasn't been activated.
Challenging, yes, but 100% possible and 100% the survivors fault if they aren't doing bones.
Do bones or risk NOED, the choice is yours.
-
@WexlerWendigo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2453264#Comment_2453264
Doing bones is not a counter at all to NOED. Unless you’re using a rainbow map, or a map with detective’s the other anti-perks are not at all good for cleansing totems. A solo survivor going after totems with counterforce or small game is a guaranteed win for the killer.
That's like saying doing generators doesn't activate the gate. Or putting survivors on books doesn't sacrifice them. Unless you are a survivor who is tunneling the generators, you should be looking around the map as time passes.
Be familiar enough with maps that you can look for bones. They aren't that hard to find, especially when survivors are actively looking for them.

Well that is totally dependent on how many Nea skins they sell a day. If there's over 100,000 concurrent players and even if only 1% spend $10 a day, that's $10,000 a day in revenue. Yea, there's taxes, artists, employees and their garbage retirement funds to look after, but BHVR can continue to rely on netting those funds as long people keep blowing their milk money on neon Nea skins.

My friend. Bubba doesn't NEED NOED to secure that second kill. You as survivors will not be able to rescue the second person. NOED or no NOED
Bubba with NOED is fine. It's simply more favorable for survivors for Bubba to take NOED, which is a disadvantage for Bubba but it's fine. Really weird perk pick imo.

If NOED is fine, keys are fine
Both require very little and offer a high reward
Both allow you to bypass something, in the killer's case it's a whole health state (and increased movement speed) and in the survivors case it allows them to either leave before all the gens are done or without opening an exit gate.
:)
Yea that's fine. Kill the key bearer or allow the survivors to escape. Personal accountability is applied anywhere. The killers role is intensive, demanding, and filled with chores.
Camping and tunneling are fine.
Dropping pallets on killers that don't respect pallets is fine.
Moris are fine, although a little underwhelming these days.
Most the intended game mechanics are fine, it's the insane number of bugs and censorship overreach that is not fine. You can't type "phone" or "Yin-Jin" in post game chat. Maps are disproportionately distributed across zones and some killers don't have their own unique zones. There's bunch of QOL that is not fine, but NOED, keys and other hot topics are mechanically fine.
Maybe the hatch should have a short animation, like a chest or bones, but even hatches are fine.
