Most of my DCs take place after the first hook. There's no point in teamwork because "do gens or die"

Spaghetti code will do that

If you're a killer and you see a survivor bring a key into the match, is it still considered toxic to you? I think the key/hatch nerf of course was healthy for the game and I personally don't care now if survivors bring keys in.
It's only toxic to other survivors. That's how the devs want it.
I will *only* attempt escapes through the hatch these days. Doesn't matter to me if the gates are open or not.

Yeah....it's a game company..a corporate entity. It isn't a person, so spare me the philosophical talk about damaging a company that makes bank off their products and got greedy to support a Pyramid Scheme that actively harms the planet we are living on way more than most other activities a person can do in a lifetime.
The game industry is rife with this bullshit and have been allowed to continue because of nihilistic fence sitters such as yourself thinking nothing can be changed, which use adds numbers and silent voices to those that SUPPORT these ongoing actions. So yeah...it's worth giving them feedback to how ######### ######### it is for their company to be doing this.
Bro you're confusing me for someone else. I was banned here for advocating that the company has its labor forces severely reduced. Don't you dare call me a fence sitter, ever. As a big time jerkface, I recognize where the boundaries are drawn and understand a fair bit about this company and it's business practices.
That being said, I'll probably be banned again for bringing all that up. See you in six months!

Even if the loud voices of our dissatisfaction on here and other online spaces are a blip compared to the majority that don't come online to talk DBD, there's enough news and spread to do some damage. Besides,
Is that how we right wrongs? By causing damage? Maybe I fail to understand the full frustration being felt, but I wouldn't call for a need to damage a company.
If the efforts here are a blip, then it wouldn't amount to damage anyways.
What's important is that BHVR has lessons to learn. We all do. Consumers cannot force a company to learn, only the company can choose to learn the lesson if they so choose. The best we can do is not to damage, but to teach this company to be more responsible by following through with an actual effort not to put any money into the company or it's IP's.
Due to how trendy this game has become, I'd find it challenging for this community to follow through with such a tremendous effort. It would require individual self control and willingness that I don't know the group really has as a whole. We are all human and we will have our moments of weakness.
If the consumers did stay strong, and they did follow through, the company would be faced with only a few options; learn their lesson, drop the product and work on new projects altogether, or not change anything at all and deteriorate
Even if this community could follow through, even if self control was properly demonstrated, could you handle watching bhvr or dbd deteriorate? It's not a pretty sight to watch something pass away, but that is exactly what all would need to be prepared for in order to teach such a company anything at all.
-
The community would need an across-the-board wallet famine for this to work, and that famine has to last for at least six months, if not, a full year, for any of this to have an effect.
Bhvr will quickly bait the community with licensed chapters and auric only cosmetics that aren't Nea exclusives.
I don't think the people can resist licensed bait.

So you are better off runing no addon than this one.
This addon would pair with party streamers or ruleset no. 2
-
It'd be fine if the traps were activated or if pig had four traps in addition to the starting inactive traps. It really sucks and MIGHT land you a single kill for the trial. It's better to keep your rbts on hand.

I don't see how inference means it's worded badly. You should know how challenges work, and if you don't, now you do.

This isn't even the first time they've used the remaining in match while x number of survivors escape challenge formula.
The fact that YOU didn't understand what they meant doesn't mean everyone else didn't either
Yall missing the point of proper language context. Without additional inference or reference, this challenge is poorly worded for what is actually being asked. That should be simple enough for you to understand.
There's no argument here, not sure what you're being defensive about. Have a great day.

We all understood what it meant.
I mean really? What was the point of this thread? To confer that we understand the devs poorly worded the challenge with improper language context? Or that we can read between the lines as a result of such poor expectations of the company's language skills?

Challenges will specifically mention if they need to be completed in the span of a single trial, do they not?
That's inference from another challenge, which is still piss poor language context for this specific challenge. It's worded poorly.
-
@bm33 said:
It's to be done over multiple matches not "in single trial."
Very poor language context if that's the case.

But hexes -should- overwrite boons if needed with plaything and for consistency...sigh

Then it should be destroyed.
Survivor perks aren't supposed to be a guaranteed benefit anyways.
And yes, NOED too

Hexes should outclass Blessed. Hexes should only be cleansed and should not be overwritten by Blessed. The Killer should have priority over dull bones, but alas, the devs didn't feel that way.

Many languages gender their nouns, meaning Survivor, as in the noun itself, would naturally be referred to as either Masculine, Feminine or Neutral. And I imagine that could be the case with OP, hence the typo.

Like how we are trying to save the world by bad mouthing Ethereum when Bitcoin, being more popular, uses far more energy per transaction.
Ethereum: 166.99kWh per transaction
Bitcoin: 1719.51kWh per transaction
I wonder how much carbon we introduced by moving to dedicated servers over p2p? 🤔
I'm more concern that people are getting ripped off by NFT scams. But as far as DBD goes there's no NFTs or exclusive content. So until that changes, I don't give damn.
The problem with these calculations is that some of the energy used for multiple transactions is redundant. 100 transactions doesn't mean 100x the power is being used. Need more expansion on all this.

I haven't been living under a rock or anything, I'm fully aware of how toxic tunneling is and it almost never ends well. Tunnel that Meg and bam four whole gens just popped one after the other.
But why do the killer themselves think this is a good idea? What do they think they're going to gain from this, seeing how unproductive it is?
Tunneling isn't toxic. It's a fundamental tactic that is easily discovered and notably intuitive in situations where the killer has lost control of generators. Since new players may not have the proper skills to control generators, it's a far better return in investing time tunneling an already weakened survivor.
Additionally, this is made possible by survivors that sandbag their teammates and fail to protect their unhooks.
The devs new hatch hatred update was pretty clear: the killer is playing four games at once, and the first kill will have a positive impact on their mmr. Each succeeding kill will have a positive but lesser impact on the mmr, because the survivors derail after the first death.
Tunneling is a tool. The toxicity is found in the one that is upset about it. Sometimes you need a hammer like tunneling, sometimes you need a nail like sneaking up on a survivor attempting bones. It's all about deploying the right tool, and a hammer is just much easier to use for destructive purposes than a nail is.
Don't be toxic about tunneling.

Oh yeah, I can see the use for NFTs as a currency, but not with the current implementation as you note.
The point is you should probably try to get people who are unaware of what this all is to understand what they are supporting with the current implementation.
EXPLODED PROPANE TANKS IMMEDIATELY
To be fair, I did my best to help a few irl family and friends understand what crypto/NFTs facts are BEFORE I ranted out my opinions about it all
-
@AnObserver said:

I mean, there's a difference between a micro market that says: For every transaction, we turn on a lightbulb for 1s.
Versus a micromarket that says: For every transaction, we detonate a Propane Tank.
The people demand exploded propane tanks. They hardly blink at hat trades anymore. Hats don't unite the world anymore, but exploded propane tanks sure so.
Unfortunately, politics are a big key characteristic in all this; if you are for a one-world economy, then you would be rooting for decentralized currency such as NFTs and crypto. Advancements in technology will eventually make crypto and NFTs far less damaging to the environment. It's not a conspiracy, it's simply intuitive.
I'll probably get banned for pointing that fact out. See ya in three months!

Why do they need so much power??? I'm sorry if these are stupid questions..ive read stuff and still didn't quite get it
I don't understand it fully, but in order to keep it all decentralized, many computers and many networks are needed to "scramble" the data that proves the receipt of purchases. Vast amounts of computing power coupled with vast distances between all the mining units costs alot of energy

Right. I'm just wondering if Valve considered NFT's gaining traction like lootboxes, and companies and games hosted on steam making deals with 3rd parties to essentially sell NFT bundles outside of the steam market while still being able to target the steam customer base.
"DBD partners with Twisted Pictures and Boss Protocol in order to "Play a Game", all NFT holders gain access to all SAW related DBD cosmetics and characters in addition to a Virtual Funko Pop with exclusive artwork and members chat available only on the Boss Protocol forums!"
I mean valve invented the tf2 hat economy and it's micro market so I'm not sure if that would be moot or not.
What valve doesn't like is not capitalizing on their "30%". If the steam keys generated have any purchaser value, and valve gains any compensation for the NFT dlc keys, then valve probably won't care. $.03 still gives valve a penny, if they do in fact charge around 30% for any sale of anything on their platform, right?
It would be ez enough for bhvr to mass produce those dlc keys at an exorbitantly low rate and move those low cost dlc keys into massive net gains with these NFTs. They're basically a subscription service in that regard. Valve might not like it, but they're big shticklers for their own rules.

@AnObserver said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2575668#Comment_2575668
Hmm. Depending on how granular Valve is, if those keys are Steam Keys that would technically be an NFT exclusive. Sure, BHVR might say that the license holders are the ones who bundled the Keys with Boss Protocol in their own deal, but what difference does that make in terms of a Steam associated DBD Product being distributed through an NFT?
Because they are not using any blockchain technology nor are they making the exchange for the crypto/NFT on the dbd product itself. Everything is occurring outside Steamworks, so it does not violate any Steamworks rules

said it in another thread, but crapto is really just there for market manipulation and insider trading and money laundering. there is NO positive aspect to it.
Also you can buy people with crypto. You know, like the Wayfair furniture thing, but instead of a smol person and a piece of cabinet, you can just buy the smol person with crypto. Way more efficient if you don't need a new cabinet.

This is the same company in which a main developer did (presumably) not know that they were working on a colorblind mode...
Also, it just sank in just HOW much of a scam this whole mess is:
The nfts are images of the pinhead model for all we know... for an unlock code that isn't even a given.
So, they are really trying to charge $200+ for something that costs less than twenty bucks in the regular store AND can be easily obtained through blender (which is free) and similar programs.
For McLean to state he didn't know about it AND that he's working on a new project altogether NOT as a result of this ordeal is highly suspicious. I don't believe him based on his track record.
For anyone taking anything with the grains of salt, crypto is a digital casino. If you're better at sitting down at an actual casino card table, do that instead of playing crypto. If you can calculate a roulette table, do that instead of playing crypto. If you're better at working hard and saving your money, *do that instead of playing crypto*. Your chances of crypto profit are marginally better than winning the lottery but most people sinply don't sell in time to make their profit worthwhile, and putting your bread and butter into it is probably foolish.
Want a high risk high reward investment? Try a portfolio. Don't want the risk? Try conservative investments. You can actually make dividends and and interest if you place your money into an IRA and you won't risk losing your investment.

Legally you are correct. But their tweets on Monday revealed they were working with the NFT company for months to give them what they wanted, so morally it's indefensible. Their tweet yesterday about the NFT not existing in DbD itself was very much a CYA ignore the issue legalese tweet and is likely all they can say without angering their new business partner the NFT place.
Morals are irrelevant in the business world, clearly demonstrated by the company regarding this whole thing, wouldn't you agree?

Also it seems as if they lied to the main chunk of the dev team about it, too
Dev team knew about it to some degree in order for the NFT to create a steam dlc code for the chapter.
-
Technically they didn't use NFTs, they partnered with a company who used the NFT. This was so dbd wouldn't be banned from steam. Bhvr can plausibly deny that dbd doesn't use blockchain tech and doesn't allow exchange of NFTs / crypto so they haven't violated any Steamworks rules.
-
Should've closed your wallets months ago tbh. They've got so much liquid built up this year, it's going to take a wallet famine across the board to have an impact.
But yes, you're right.

Basically steam can ban dbd from it's platform because NFTs are against their rules and now that BHVR has teased an epic games partnership and the company affiliated with the NFT came out and said theres in game use coming down the pipeline in the future it basically says that if you play on steam as do I and many others , there's no confirmation on whether steam is gonna throw the ban hammer or not and BHVR shitting in their face with epic games on social media I wouldn't be surprised if they banned dbd and we on steam have to repurchase and start over on a new platform, but also NFT are harmful to the environment on top of all that
This isn't accurate. DBD itself does not make any exchanges for crypto or NFTs so no rules have technically been violated.
You get the NFT, I estimate that you get a steam dlc code. At no time has dbd been employed for blockchain tech.
