This doesnt make sense to your OP.
The Hatch doesnt in any way give your abusive SWF on voice any incentive related to it, because its unusable for you.
The Hatch literally does not affect you in the least bit. It only affects the last Survivor standing in the match.
Hatch affects everyone except the final survivor alive

SWF is still alive and well. So I ran with friends, and instead of doing objectives, we now just torment the killer. Everyone uses headon, we have vigil, spine chill, and few other perks. If there isn't a full group, we leave gens to the last person standing. If they get hooked, they die. Objectives don't get done. Either the killer leaves, cries in a corner, or after a lot of harassment from the survivor team, ends up killing us. Don't really care anymore about objectives. Most of the time, the rando will get killed and everyone else escapes.
Not a bad idea

Hey, i was just trying to do the survivor master challenge where you have to escape through the hatch with a map and its really hard to do the regular way, as i've tried for a bit. so me and my friend said, "whatever, lets just do the key way" and he grabbed a key and we let some randoms know who were okay with it and we tried it and hatch just never spawned. We were like "what?"
We finally figured out it got changed just this patch to where hatch only spawns when one survivor is left (pretty sure, but correct me if i'm wrong). so umm are purple and iridescent keys literally useless now? its not like tons and tons of people were skipping out constantly
no theyre useful for being toxic to your team. it says "do gens AND die, so i can escape in the hatch, thanks devs"
as soon as the first survivor dies in a trial, theres no incentive to unhook if youre all behind on gens
do gens or die

Describe specifically what happened and what makes you think it was a hacker.
bro this kind of thing happens in dark souls all the time. the fact that its only now hitting a game like dbd is what is surprising.

Here's another idea, return fog to The Fog. it is ridiculous how far and how clearly you can see, literally on my last match as Nemesis I ran Lethal Persuer, turned a corner and saw one of the Survivors clear as day on the other side of the map, making the perk entirely redundant.
Thicken the fog a little more and maybe Survivors won't be able to see your every move.
no the devs broke the fog, this wont ever happen. they refuse to straighten out the spaghetti.

theres two types of hackers in this game, the blatant ones where a jake snakes around at 100mph and theres the subtle ones, where a killer KNOWS where you are even when they absolutely should not under any circumstances KNOW where you are.
there are plenty of the subtle types of hackers, but because they are so careful about how they cheat, EAC will never know to look for them. the blatant ones get reported and found out relatively quickly.
ive never heard of anyone bricking in the dbd game due to hacks; i have only heard about bricking for dark souls. picking up an item an invader leaves you is just asking to be soft banned in that game.

This isn't the only exploit with this perk either.
I'm seeing people using it to phase through killers/survivors and push them around. Something like that
Worst part about it is survivor main content creators actively encouraging it and showing people how to do it. I hate it whenever some bug comes around that's clearly not intended and a bunch of people try to write it off as some cool amazing tech that adds so much to the game when it really doesn't.
these bugs are all pretty easy to replicate. not only has bhvr proven time and again to be dishonest, but they simply do not care for their game. i do not have any sympathy for the people at this company anymore.

It's impossible to do gens against a decent Pinhead with this.
Then die. Devs made that clear with the recent toxic hatch update

@Sluzzy said:
This is so broken it reminds me of machine gun build on killers. How is this available in the game in such a way that survivors are constantly hindered from doing any actions in the game?
Survivor is already the most steep hill to climb, I don't think this is necessary for a guaranteed victory for the killer.
I played a few matches where the killer was constantly able to keep the Chain Hunt in action because he was always notified where the box is located.
Dear BHVR, nobody could do the objective except for the killer.
Unless you were complaining about hoarder before the release of pinhead, it's not hoarder that would need to be nerfed at all
Yea, pinhead is strong with it, so do gens or die
-
24ing a gate is the only way a solo survivor can safely open a gate....yes there's wake up but it's so conditional and only works when gens power the gate
So if gate regression would curb 99ing a gate, how would you help a lone survivor attempting to escape since gate regression would kill any effort to 24 the gate?
What if 99 gates regressed back only to 75%?

They are a problem. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I believe that almost all exhaustion perks are entirely too strong and beat out every other type of perk in the game besides Unbreakable in certain situations. They are destroying the game by creating an unshakeable meta dominated by chase-oriented perks. I'm tired of running them as survivor if I want to win and I'm tired of dealing with them as killer.
Tell me, why would I ever bring a perk that allowed me to see the auras of my teammates around me over an exhaustion perk. There is literally no reason to unless you just straight up don't care about winning. Why would I bring a perk that allows me to see the killer's aura when a generator is completed? Dead Hard is an option, that allows me to possibly extend the chase by minutes. So screw Dark Sight that's useless compared to Dead Hard. That is what I am thinking as I go to select perks.
What would I do? Nerf all speed increase exhaustion perks to 130% speed and put some sort of breathing penalty on exhausted survivors making them easier to track during a chase. This would make it so survivors don't just gain as much free distance just for existing, and there is a sort of trade-off. Gain free distance in a chase, but become an easier target. Of course, the speed increase will always be worth the stealth penalty, but at least there is now a better chance for the killer after the survivor gained free distance.
Dead Hard should slow you down at the end of the animation, but keep the I-frames. That way it can't be used as an "oopsie, made a mistake, let's just pretend that never happened :)" button. This would force survivors to use the perk as it is intended; a perk that allows you to juke the killer as they swing for you.
Anyways, rant over. What do you guys think? Are exhaustion perks a problem, yes or no?
I haven't run an exhaustion perk since the hatch update. I have an 85% escape rate.

Fun has absolutely nothing to do with winning or losing, fun is just fun. Some people even though they lose games may have overall fun so i guess it depends on the context.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2582050#Comment_2582050
I respect it but you should respect the fact that some people are competitive like me and want the increased MMR for higher challenges. For me, killing low rank or MMR survivors is not fun for me at all. If people are sweaty, let them be sweaty, you cant fault them for that! )
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2582066#Comment_2582066
Nooooo. Someone brought this up so im going to repeat myself. You cant say that a 4k is a win and a 3k isnt because of the hatch plain and simple. Some people even consider a 3/4k the same and rightfully so. The scenario you are painting is 3 escapes which is a loss but 3k is definetly not a loss at all. You are 100% wrong. This is DBD were talking about so your comment that "A killer only wins with a 4k plain and simple" is false and misleading.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2582089#Comment_2582089
I agree with that only up to a certain point with one exception
If i get 2k and Entity Displeased "I" see that as a loss personally because to me even though i went even in terms of kills i could have played a little better.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2582233#Comment_2582233
What? Your trying to confuse things for no reason. I said i consider a 2k with Brutal or Ruthless a draw or going even with survivor and a 2k with Entity Displeased as a loss. Of course 1k is win for the survivor lol.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2582245#Comment_2582245
Why do some people have this mentality? Your straight out wrong! lol You are not gonna 4k every game no matter how good you or or how bad the team is because 1 person can get hatch because it is that way by design, point blank plain and simple. I'm not talking about win conditions for survivor because that's something totally different and calls for a separate thread since i didn't include survivor win/loss conditions for this thread.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2582256#Comment_2582256
What? If you are referring to a survivor escaping but a killer gets Merciless Killer then that means that the killer played out of his mind and a near perfect game but the survivor won the end game and thus gets to tell the tale/story of survival. End game is not always in the killers favor although it is mostly. Sometimes the survivor gets good exit gates rng and it depends on the map.
no u, u wrong dont u tell me wat to do or how to think
Thanks to the new toxic hatch update, and the fact that I play a different killer every round, I slug and 4k every trial. Don't care for mmr anyways, and I don't concern myself over the experience for others either.
It's alot of fun for me overall, so my win condition given the toxic hatch update is complete and total annihilation of the survivor squad.

Killer win: 4k by any means
Survivor win: hatch by any means

2 perk slots for potentially 4 ruins + some aura reading.
That's fair.
Given that built to last triples survivor items, prove thyself chews through gens with or without items/gears, and survivors can easily do bones or bless bones, that's completely fair.
-
Because they chose to flip only the offerings killswitch.

@Sonzaishinai said:
Old Undying had a chance to make people cleanse 5 totems of a map wide powerfull effect with zero cost to the killer outside of the perk slots.
Boon totems have a set radius and need 14 seconds + travel time to set up first and then again each time they are snuffed.
If that travel time is 6 seconds you just got a pop for free. Realistically speaking the travel time will be much more then 6 seconds.
If you as a killer snuff 5 boons then the survivors could have done 87,5% of a gen instead. Not counting travel time so you can most likely double that.
The comparrison really doesn't make sense
Zero cost?
Costs two perk slots minimum.
-
The game is "do gens or die"
Unhooking, body blocking, being chased, these things are not doing gens, so it means the killer is winning anyway.

@AnObserver said:
I think part of it is to do with Tile variation potentially being a problem with regards to some edge-cases, but consistent Totems spawns should be easily tested with an in-house Perk that shows all Totem Auras, a Setting that spawns all Totems, and simply making the Killer/Survivor perform the cleanse action that breaks the Totem (such as to allow testers to be able to do a sweep and keep track of the Totems).
That sounds like actual work, sir. Don't be offensive.

Pinhead and Mikaela Ried just came out not to long ago and now im seeing videos talking about chapter 22 and new cosmetics leaks like sheesh. These developers need to let the game catch its breath and fix current issues first before adding in more new buggy content which is probably making them overwhelmed having to fix all these bugs. Like I said in my previous post I'd rather wait a good while to get bug free content. Now would you guys do the same too ?
Rushed would imply they're working hard. I wouldn't even call it that. It's sloppy work, at best.

The hatch update is what's forcing survivors to "do gens or die" and the killers need to "camp and tunnel" in order to keep up with pressure.
Dev toxicity is real. They hate their game and they hate the community, clearly.

80% or more of the threads on here are complaining survivors are too strong or killers are too strong. Or they're announcing how Behaviour is killing the game, or how they're never going to play this game again.
Why not just uninstall the game and move on? Why does everyone have to be dramatic about it?
If you want the game to improve because you want to continue playing it, then constructive criticism is always better. But I know that doesn't get replies, so getting triggered gets attention, and people do it for the attention. But does it ever actually lead to changes in the game?

Its going to be awhile for this to sink in the collective mind.
Most people are ignoring it and pretending ranks still have a match making impact
Tbh, during the rank reset, I still notice a complete contrast to the types of players im matched with. Given BHVR's ongoing track record dishonesty, I'd believe that the hidden number *and* ranks both have an impact on match making. Just maybe not like how it was before, because of the new number

Everyone and anyone can be red rank with brute force. Your mmr rating is a hidden number but you can still pip your way up and ratchet each rank; you may lose pips progress but you don't lose rank anymore

My question is, why not be as bad as them? You're saying don't sink to their level, but I have literally NO reason not to. I mean that literally. Companies are not moral, so I do not feel i have to be moral back. If I hadn't seen this stuff for the last 40 years of my life, I might feel differently, but I've yet to see a company do good for goods sake.
And if you can't beat 'em, might as well join 'em and learn their game. (no pun intended)
I only consider morals relative to an individual, not to a company that's beholden to profit. I hear and understand that you disagree, and I completely see and understand your point. But the fact that you've been banned for talking about their labor force shows they do not learn. How am I supposed to "rise above" that?
I know this is more of a philosophical discussion at this point. But I'm sorry, I can't bring myself to feel bad for ANY company that only cares about your dollars, no matter how moral or immoral being that way is.
I expect a ban, so I'm sure I'll be right there with you LOL
Am a God fearing person. I don't want to be like them; they are dishonest and deceitful and cause damage. As an american with a fading sense of patriotism, I find the company's endeavors to be in line with the modern wave of socialism thats choking out freedom and individuality. Extreme censorship and selective/exclusive public relations coupled with an ill-refuted sense of worldly unity is toxic to human freedom and it's easy to see that around everywhere these days, bhvr is not the sole purveyor of such illicit debauchery.
Yes, cellmate, we will likely be silenced by the Selective Speech Squad for these comments. At no time tho were you nor I derogatory were we? At no time were you nor I dishonest, were we? Perhaps either of us can be mistaken, but certainly not found in the error of their ways.
I wouldn't ask you to feel bad for them, tho, but I'd ask you to consider if you'd feel bad for yourself if you ever regretted becoming like them.
Forgiveness is divine. What I'd call upon you is to remind me that damage can be a permanent solution for a temporary problem. But, perhaps, I am mistaken; perhaps what we have here is a permanent problem. A permanent problem can only require a permanent solution. And we can deploy a permanent solution without becoming like them. Am I mistaken? Is this a permanent problem on our hands? I might fail to understand the gravity of the situation.
There's a difference between ending the problem and letting it drag out. War is in my blood, sir. Generations and generations deep.

I'm sorry, but there is a world of information out there, and there are literally thousands of resources on how to be a more sustainable company. BHVR has 850 employees. I guarantee you more than one employee knows how bad these are for the environment.
This idea that we have to "teach" a company is bullshhhh. These people make millions of dollars a year, but I'm supposed to be nice to them? Seriously?
You act like "oh we just have to show them a better way". They know the better way. They chose not to take it - and I can't believe anyone, in 2021 would think a company wouldn't know better, or would pander to them as if THEY'RE the ones hurt by this.
You say avoid intent to damage - where the fu is THEIR intent to not damage? Where is THEIR intent to be a force for good in the world?
I didn't say you have to be nice to them. Keep in mind, I've been banned several times on this forum for advocating a severe reduction in their labor forces.
Ultimately, doing wrong because they are doing wrong is also wrong. We all know how dishonest and damaging they are. Are you going to lower yourself to what we expect from them?
Is that an excuse for you to behave like them? An eye for an eye, I suppose.
-
@cannonballB said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2577237#Comment_2577237
When it comes to companies (and, indeed, anything capitalistic in our society), the only way to teach or damage is through the wallet.
Unless there are other options I'm not aware of?
Money talks and bullsheet walks baby.
You are correct that a consumer's number one tool is money. Your use of the word damage is the issue I have here. If you want to damage the company with money, you can do that. If you want to change the company's value with your money, you can do that instead.
It's how you're using this idea that's going to result in any kind of effect. To teach or to damage, while you can certainly do both, I recommend avoiding any intent to damage.
Damage can be a permanent solution to a temporary problem whereas teaching can be a means of investment for the change you want to see in a solution.
Do you want to cause damage and risk no change or value gained from it at all?
-
@cannonballB said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2576799#Comment_2576799
How exactly is it you think we can "cause damage"? The only way TO cause damage (and make them pay attention) is by hitting their wallet.
I suggest abandoning the mindset of causing damage and instead figuring out how to teach. It's a bunch of philosophical nonsense I described in that long winded novel I wrote earlier.

Now with the changes to the hatch only appearing when there is one player left instead of when there are more gens done than players alive, what is stopping me from wanting to just get everyone else killed and escaping out the hatch? Discuss.
Thanks to the new updates, the game is "do gens or die". No longer is it "do stuff and escape"
Once the first survivor is killed off, the option to "do gens" is likely off the table. All that's left is to "die". As the last player alive, you get a courtesy opportunity to try and hatch out.
Alot of the "before" complaints about their team abandoning them on hook is likely due to low MMR or exaggerating how often it happens.
If your focus is to escape, it is far better for you to let the team die on their hook than to unhook after the first death. It's simply a risk that cannot be afforded, especially if you bring a key. The devs didn't even nerf keys tbh, they only nerfed the hatch, which still doesn't solve the original issue, however the issue has now evolved; previous complaints included how the key caused games to end early...now, games dont end early, but they end prematurely because people are not going to want to unhook their team at all is assured by the new incentive. The gen game is stopped altogether.
