Improbable. Game generates revenue as is. No incentive on the dev side to expand or be inclusive with game modes.
Never gonna see 2 killer mode
AI is on mobile, but the games written out on different architecture so we likely won't see anything like that
It seemed like the rift was gonna be this awesome new game mode, but all it did was create off-topix objectives sometimes completely unrelated to the trial at hand; this results 4k games sometimes since survivors aren't focusing on escape.
Game is stale and not getting fresh anytime soon as long people keep dropping money on Nea skins

NOED is fine. Do bones or risk a challenging EGC. It takes up a whole perk slot that is situationally dependent. It's hardly earned, but it's been paid for. Survivors shouldn't be moping around during EGC.

the gens are spread all across a large map, too big. It's hard to pressure gens if you don't hurry and find a survivor right away to have a advantage.
It's not survivor sided. Legion and maybe plague might struggle with it. Everyone else is going to have their strengths on different parts of the map, and the loop on top is a massive walkway; if the survivor beats you to the window, it wouldn't have mattered anyways at any other loop, you were lagging behind.

People always talk about hidden rules for either side so I thought I'd join in and go through my own rules. What are your own rules? Do you agree?
Both rules: DO NOT SEND HATE, Dont use an X sided map and be mean about it. Dont DC.
Survivor rules: Dont click flashlights, Dont t-bag, dont quick switch.
Killer: dont shake/nod at downs, dont hit on hook, dont camp/4man slug near start of the game.
Endgame: Anything goes means the killer can camp and tunnel, survivors can leave or stay just no toxicity about it.
Pretty simple rules, no BM for either side. Play as sweaty or as casual as you like just dont be toxic or quit because of it. As the game is nearing an end the killer is allowed to play more harsh in terms of hook proximity or tunneling in a last ditch effort before the games over.
Understand both sides want to play, have fun and try to win. No perks, killers, offerings or items are toxic. All are allowed without hate or backlash.
Keys need to be balanced, if you're using one fine, just dont quick switch. killers can be allowed to back out or start playing more harsh to counter the key until a suitable balance is put into play
These are terrible rules

Yellow Dwight in the cornfield though just sayin

No and no. None of that. BT should not be base kit. You should be protecting your unhooks. You should not be unsafely unhooking.
Baseline BT (or DS or Ruin) will severely dilute the game.

Red Herring wins solo games because it tells the killer where to go.

Left Behind is Bills best perk just sayin

I've never been killed by an RBT, so Id say tampered timer is probably fine. Nerfing pig is a kind of a pastime of BHVR, she doesn't need that kind of abuse anymore.

Idk, to use an example, I feel like some of the RE chapter perks were pretty well designed. Not transformative, but situationally useful and sometimes really fun, Flashbang and Blast Mine in particular. Resurgence and Rookie Spirit aren't bad per se, just a bit boring. Though I agree with you on some of them: Counterforce is outclassed by Small Game and Detective's Hunch, and Bite the Bullet has such a weak effect, that it begs the question why they even made those perks to begin with. I would like to see more one time use powerful effects, or more strong perks gatekept by hard but not impossible activation conditions (i.e. perks like current Mettle of Man, but with a slightly easier activation condition).
Bite the bullet is self cares new best friend.

The PTB is important to catch and major bugs that would completely stop the game from working. Albeit, plenty still get through for whatever reason (I personally question if QA is even involved at this stage of feedback, tbh, because it really should be)
Also the PTB state is usually about 2 weeks behind in the actual state of the game that the devs have on-hand, and provides a buffer to get any balance changes they have planned sorted before it goes live.
The devs hold QA hostage over it all just sayin. Bhvr hired some QA in the last year and as a player with 3000 hours, I haven't seen the needed improvement to QoL and overall direction of the game.
Game is stale, devs are stale, QA can't do anything except what they're told it seems to me.

Introduction
I'm going to ask a series of questions, please answer with either yes or no.
If you would like to put reasoning into your comment, try to keep it separate from the answers, it would be greatly appreciated.
Q: Are you fine with the hatch spawning conditions? — SpawNing Rule: More completed generators than the amount of survivors alive.
Q: Would you prefer that the developers remove the hatch entirely? — EGC would start when there's one survivor remaining.
Q: If we removed the hatch, see above, would you be in favor of having the exit gates being balanced? — Gates will be further apart and the killer won't be able to keep both gates in los.
Q: Are keys balanced?
Example of what your comment should look like
_______________________________________
No
No
Yes
No
Reasoning: Blah Blah Blah, killers OP, blah blah blah, survivors OP.
_______________________________________
Closing
Have fun answering and putting your reasoning into this topic, I'm interested on where this goes!
Q: ARE YOU FINE WITH THE HATCH SPAWNING CONDITIONS? — SPAWNING RULE: MORE COMPLETED GENERATORS THAN THE AMOUNT OF SURVIVORS ALIVE.
A: Yes
Q: WOULD YOU PREFER THAT THE DEVELOPERS REMOVE THE HATCH ENTIRELY? — EGC WOULD START WHEN THERE'S ONE SURVIVOR REMAINING.
A: No
Q: IF WE REMOVED THE HATCH, SEE ABOVE, WOULD YOU BE IN FAVOR OF HAVING THE EXIT GATES BEING BALANCED? — GATES WILL BE FURTHER APART AND THE KILLER WON'T BE ABLE TO KEEP BOTH GATES IN LOS.
A: No
Q: ARE KEYS BALANCED?
A: Yes
BLAH BLAH BLAH: Key should spawn in game, too, under certain conditions. Killer should be able to break the key that spawns in game. Hatch grabs should come back. Do not remove hatch, keys, or moris. Green moris should revert back to old green mori. Red mori conditions should change to: After hooking each survivor once, you may kill dying survivors.
-
BHVR as a company is bothersome. As far as the game goes, disproportionate maps per zone and a lack of zones for new killers.
-
If you are stepping back from the pallet zone, it's a fair stun. You weren't respecting the pallet.
If you never entered the pallet zone, you should not be hit. You were respecting the pallet.
-
Nemesis is top tier. You weren't camping hard enough.
-
Just proxy camp and prioritize the tunnel. You can rank 1 on SWF that easily.
If you don't like the idea of camping and tunneling, playing killer at high ranks isn't what you're trying to do.
-
@GrimoireWeiss said:
Kill rates are sitting at almost 70% on a game that hatch exists. Escaping on solo queue is already challenging as it is, especially with how matchmaking is.
Killers shouldn't be overpowered, both sides should have a chance to win. This is a multiplayer game and survivors aren't playing to satisfy your god complex. If you want to feel OP go play Doom Eternal or something like that.
Where do you acquire this data?
-
EAC is a white picket fence
-
If you knew where the hatch was, you should've death hooked the slug and closed the hatch.
-
I will never allow an RBT to kill me. I will force the hook or fall over before I ever let that happen.
-
No refunds. Also you don't own any content on this game, it's all BHVRs digital property.
-
Tinkerer counters: spine chill, being mindful of timing/progress (coupled with blast mine)
Dead hard counters: instadowns, locker grabs, baiting

I'm not suggesting they do that, I'm just saying your comment is contradictory.
I can acknowledge you may not agree, but it certainly not a contradiction. Having worked resource management most of my life, I can assure you, some companies have greed that knows no bounds. Entire labor forces can turn over, literally overnight. It varies from industry to industry although the industry specific minutia isn't really relevant.

What politics? That statement is so bizarre. And corporate gains with a bloated labor force? Shouldn't they fire some of the "excess" employees to maximize gains?
I was put in forum jail for previously suggesting such an idea on the forums, and I was much more detailed. Please be careful; forum jail is...not very interesting, it's like regular jail but I still get to use my own personal bathroom and eat whatever food what I want.
-
BHVR is incentivized by politics, corporate gains, and a bloated labor force. There is no improvement in development, the game has peaked.
-
Par for the course is 2 gens done on the first hook.
If you're finding more gens are being done on the first hook, you need to work on your loop game
If you're finding no or one gen done on first hook, someone is doing bones or looking for chests
If you're not proxy camping or tunneling, you're giving the survivor every opportunity. You don't need to ignore a hook.

Mr blight! Mr blight!
I have a question
Is "Sole survivor" a good perk? There's a big test coming up and I was wondering if it's a solid and viable perk.
Lol this. I've been picturing this guy as Blight with a hat. Maybe a grad cap or a dunce cone.
-
Hidden feature or inobvious bug take your pick cuz the devs wouldn't know either
-
I mean the killer is trying to torture and kill people so...
-
Maybe I'm bad at probability math, but wouldn't the calculation at max luck with 6 tries turn out to be over 90% likelihood of unhooking oneself?
But there is 100% chance of upsetting the killer anyways lol
-
@Sadsnacks said:
You are not good at killer for getting 4ks this way especially against solo survivors.
Thank you for listening to my psa.
You are not good at survivor if you enable camping and neglect your unhook.
-
I'm more concerned about maps these days. Game is stale as maps are disproportionately distributed through the zones and there's nothing really new in terms of gameplay, mostly tweaked or semi interesting mechanics being introduced.
The environment is everything in an hide n seek game, and it's been neglected
-
Camping is a result of survivors not doing gens. Not truly propogated by the killer.
Tunneling is a result of survivors not protecting their unhooks. Not even remotely the fault of the killer.
Camping and Tunneling are empowered directly by survivors. Personal responsibility is a fickle topic for salty sweaty purple ranked survivors.
-
You can use brown addon toolbox instructions to stop stake out and retain fast track tokens. Makes an otherwise useless add on a very useful component in a niche build
-
Between the politics, corporate gains and bloated labor pool, bhvr has no incentive to improve the QoL nor fix the rampant bugs that would make other mechanics and aspects of the game interesting.
There won't ever be new objectives, there will never be a 2 killer mode, and the censorship will only worsen
Literally, Yun-Jin is a censored word in lobby chat, but you can take on any username and the game doesn't censor it. Any name. Doesn't matter how grotesque, racist, or offensive your name is, dbd only censors your speech...this is despite having no in game chat, it boggles my mind how self contradictive it can be
The philosophy and standards are skewed and the games success is totally incidental and has nothing to do with the gameplay itself. If there were no licenses, this game would not be remotely as successful as it has been. The licenses are the pillars. For whatever reason it may be, having lost a license is a serious shift in this games gravity and a serious threat to it's future. It's a precedent that could be repeated (I'm looking at both of you, Konami & Capcom)
It's been a crazy roller coaster, but dbd has peaked. It's gonna go down with some ups here and there, but the game will become more of a political fad by this time next year.
-
I was thinking about cancelling my netflix sub, not simply cuz of this. I've seen everything they have to offer me and don't really use it anymore. I have doubts about a gaming platform, pretty sure they're gonna charge extra for it eventually anyways.

Tbh, they could have stripped it out and we could have nothing. The agreements spell that out with a lot of fine print, that BHVR is in control of all digital content and none of it belongs to the end user.

We've all had Dead hard and ended up exhausted on the ground. Started using Head on a lot more and it suffers the same problem. I'm hiding in a locker. Nemmy comes up and checks the one next to me. Head on is primed. Right as he's shutting the door, I'm ready for it, I'm spamming space bar and... nothing. Caught in locker. Again. ######### like this happens regularly. Not every time, 4/5 times, head on works just fine. but there's definite times you know it should work and it just... doesn't.
It's a game that has receivied incidental AAA success. It's not a AAA game nor developed by a AAA team.
The issue is likely validation priority; at the same time you're spamming head on, the killer has already requested to the server to check the locker. Priority goes to the killer it seems.

I’ve seen a couple of your comments around here now and you just seem to have a thing against Demogorgon. No, the chapter didn’t get pulled because of Demo being weak, stop deluding yourself.
The chapter was pulled due to licensing issues. Wether that was Netflix demanding more money, wanting to keep the license for themselves or they decided it wasn’t making enough money and just pulled out.
Don't rule out BHVR causing issues, too.
Demogorgon is the most balanced killer in game, he is certainly not weak.
-
It's highly political and exudes exclusivity. While I'm sure it made some people happy, it is also notably divisive. It's even described in some replies on this thread that people were targeted for wearing the charm, furthering the political devices involved. At the same time, some people would prefer not be be put on a hook bearing political charms like the pride flag as it can be simply perceived as conviction rather than celebration.
The charm is 100% politics rooted in beliefs. That's kinda what flags are for. Nations, ethics, beliefs, religion. All politics. Bringing any level of politics into this game has soured it.

Wrong. A lot of people (myself included) would rather have a slightly overbearing filter than see the usual disgusting drivel in the chat, and have said so repeatedly.
You can simply turn off chat. Let the rest of the community speak freely.

So, post-game, I am trying to tell a survivor that the hatch is the only way out with an active reverse trap...only to find out that "ONLY WAY" is censored? What the actual eff?
For a game that features no in game chat, there's an insane suppression of speech found in this games censorship. This game is not for children. There shouldn't be any censorship at all. It's a Canadian company, so expecting freedom of speech would offend their sensibilities.
It's also clearly evident if you say anything about the mod team. They tend to over react and chalk out ambiguous rules as the reasons for putting people in figurative jail.

"And what if I don't want to run those atm killers also like to have variety in there builds."
Best not let the killer mains hear that one from a survivor.
Camping? "Just run BT". Tunnelling? "Just run DS". Spirit? "Just run IW". Slugging? "Just run UB". NOED? "Just run DetHunch/SG".
Hooking? Just bring a flashlight
Killing? Just bring a key
Surviving? Just point at a other survivor, that usually works

Just curious. I checked Steam DBD news and saw that the Stranger Things chapter will be disappearing for good in November.
Just wondering what caused BHVR to lose the license of Stranger Things.
I know Hawkins Lab will be disabled for good, but I loved the map. Will it be reskinned and perhaps slightly edited so it can remain in the game, even if slightly different?
Why does no one else seem to be talking about this?
People suspect it's netflix. That's probable due to the upcoming platform but it's unreasonable if the stranger things game is not a hide n seek thriller.
It's also likely that BHVRs mismanagement is finally manifesting in new and unprecedented ways. Other license could (but likely won't) follow suit.

Now before you comment, I acknowledge that tunneling and camping is a viable strategy. For the most part I don't really hold it against anyone who does it, but jeez this particular excuse has been getting on my nerves lately and that is "my objective is to kill the survivors." No, its not. The game very clearly states that the job of the Killer is to torture the survivors and after squeezing every last bit of hope they have then they can kill the survivors.
If your gonna tunnel and camp, go right on ahead, I don't care, do whatever you want but for the love of god stop using false information.
Lol that's never the excuse. Only survivors can empower camping and by extension tunneling. Camping cannot work if the hooked survivor hangs out while gens are busted out by everyone else. Tunneling works 100% as a result of a failure to protect an unhook. It's only efficient because other survivors make it work.
