Not a Freddy main, I primarily play Survivor.

I think Freddy is 100% fine where he is.

Definitely what a Freddy main would say.

  • Freddy is in need of a major nerf and I'm so glad that people are speaking up about it. He's the most OP POS killer in this game that takes zero skill to play. The only people you'll see defending him are Freddy mains or killers that switch to Freddy when they get steamrolled by a team that outplayed them just so they can mindlessly get their 4k and feel like a winner without actually improving. Everyone else recognizes how OP he is and agrees that he needs a nerf. But noooooo, just like everything else in this game BHVR gotta cater to the minority of killers that whine about not getting a 4K in every game.

  • 7.5GB? Mine is 16GB lol. The hell?

  • Ignore them. THey're not the threat as they're both not doing anything. You want the other two that are most likely on gens.

  • Yes, under certain circumstances. There was a game where I was Bubba on Hawkins and I got stuck in that tube you can drop down. Like I literally could not get out. A survivor noticed and walked up to me allowing me to hit her which allowed me to break free from the wall, which I assume is what I was stuck in. So I continued to slaughter the rest of her team but gave her the hatch in the end.

Another reason I'd let a survivor escape is if the rest of their team were a bunch of potatoes and the survivor I'm letting escape is the only actual good person on the team that worked hard.

  • @Dzeikor said:

Deathslinger overall is a watered down as hell killer.

Is he? I rather enjoy playing him and don't have any issues getting my 4ks. He shuts down loops in a way that is considered fair as its still a mindgame between him and the survivor. Not to mention he's still counterable, unlike Freddy.

  • Moris aren't healthy for the game and need a complete overhaul. They're just used as tools to punish survivors for daring to get better at the game or play with their friends. They're not fun to play against and there's no counterplay as survivors are the REACTIVE role. There's no reason for them to exist at all in their current state. Keys, on the other hand, actually require you to do objectives before you can even use it and there's no guarantee you'll actually get to do so. If the killer is sentient they'll ensure that survivors aren't able to use the key via slugging or banking on the key having add-ons to prevent it being lost upon death or the other survivors aren't aware of it and removing the survivor with the key from the game.

  • I got this challenge as basement Bubba.

    You'll need:

    • Bubba, of course
    • That purple coin that removes two chests from the game
    • Perks: Insidious, NoED, BBQ or Iron Grasp, and Agitation
    • My add-on suggestions are to use ones that decrease your chainsaw charging time as much as possible

As for map offerings you want a small map with a basement that can spawn in the middle. I was lucky that I got Wretched Shop with the basement in the main building when I did this. I just camped in the basement at the start of the match and waited for my first target. There was only 1 gen left before a Bill came down the stairs to get the basement chest. I destroyed him, hooked him, and proceeded to camp. Soon a wild Feng appeared and attempted to get close to me and run away when I would rev my chainsaw. I would stop chasing her as soon as I got up the stairs making her believe I wouldn't chase her further. On the 3rd time of her coming down the steps I actually chased her and mowed her, and her two remaining survivor friends, in one swoop. GG EZ

  • While I agree with you on the Hellshire Iron there is absolutely no reason a RANGED killer should get instadowns without some insane requirements. Iri Head Huntress is in need of a nerf because there are no requirements other than hit with a hatchet. Which you can get pretty easily.

  • If DbD is affecting you that much perhaps you shouldn't be playing. That and we don't really need people playing Freddy considering he's disgustingly OP and needs to be nerfed into oblivion.

  • Once Freddy is nerfed into oblivion I'll stop whining. Thanks.

So you dont understand the difference between fairness and gamebalance.

    They are two seperate things.

Like in a boxing match. One being lightweight and the other a heavyweight is a matter of balance,

spitting one in the face and kick him while he is on the ground is a matter of fairness and sportsmanship.

Really, dude? There's nothing fair about a killer that can hook someone, teleport directly to my objective using his power in combination with BBQ, pop it Pop Goes the Weasel, and then down me from 20 feet away with that insane lunge. And even if I get away for a moment he catches up and shuts me down at every loop. Game balance and fairness can go hand in hand.

  • I can't believe we had a survey about fairness and the focus was teabagging rather than on Freddy.

  • Billy and Bubba, while they seem OP, are actually incredibly weak. Try this: When you're looping one around a pallet instead of throwing it right away just keep running. They'll attempt to rev their chainsaw at the pallet allowing you to keep going. It saves on pallets and lets them sweat a bit knowing you know their counter. Don't be afraid of the chainsaw. Its a hindrance, not a boon. And if a Billy at least starts backrevving you, just start 360ing like crazy. And switch directions. It doesn't always work but when it does...you can usually get to the next pallet.

And if they start using M1 instead of their chainsaw then you've drastically changed the game. You can't 360 Bubba though. But you can make REALLY tight turns around ######### like trees whereas he can't or he loses a ######### ton of time.

  • Freddy. Any other killer is a joke in comparison. Why he hasn't been nerfed hard yet is beyond me.

So would shining a flashlight on the husk break Spirit out of phasewalk, or just make her visible in it? Either way I can see this being pretty annoying vs a SWF with one guy as the designated Spirit annoyer, flash lighting her every time she phases while the two others do gens. Kind of a niche scenario but I can see people complaining about it.

Then that's two people not working on gens. I love, love, looooove as a killer when I got one person following me around while I chase another for a flashlight save. Two downs for the price of one. That'll pull everyone off of gens and the ball is in my court.

  • @Cheers said:

This sounds good in concept, but it's very poor when you actually think about it. You have to stand in the spot to use it, meaning The Spirit knows exactly where you are as she's coming out of phasing.

It's a risk, right? Just like attempting to flashlight stun a wraith or destroy a Hag trap. And you don't have to be standing where you are to know. You can make some distance and shine the flashlight to reveal her. She's also slower out of phasing.

  • This would actually be nice. I have one guy that every time he sees me he brings a mori and tunnels me because I looped him for 5 gens ONCE (He's a really bad killer) and it's honestly really lame. I don't run into him too often but this change would be nice.

  • Well, ya. Killer mains, I swear.

  • I use what I personally feel is the best build in the game:

    Sprint Burst

    Iron Will

    Inner Strength

    Spine Chill

Of those Inner Strength is the only DLC perk and belongs to Nancy Wheeler. The rest can be found via Meg Thomas/Jake Park/On anyone's bloodweb. I would recommend also getting Laurie Strode for DS in the event you find that a lot of killers are tunneling on a particular day. The rest of the DLC perks are kinda situational or meme perks and IMO not as good/worth it.

As far as killers go....it kinda depends on which killers you like and want to main. Play with your food/Nemesis would be awkward choices on Hag for example but useful on Wraith or Bubba. Killers that I personally find fun are: Deathslinger, Clown, Wraith, Ghostface, and Trapper. But each of their builds is going to be so different.

Personally I'd recommend experimenting with killers you like and then watching the god tier killers on YouTube and seeing what they use for perks to give you a general idea. However note that just because they get away with using certain perks doesn't mean you will. Just as an example: You can be really good at mindgames, but have difficulty tracking a survivor once they're hit. You might benefit more from tracking perks than say the recommended perks for a killer as put out by the community.

And you think I do not play SoloQ? It's bad matchmaking's fault you have hard time playing because your teammates are awful at the game.

I definitely don't think you do, no. Otherwise you would agree with me. And that's part of it, but the other part is that survivors are actually weaker than killer mains like to boast when playing the game as intended.

  • Comraderie/Deliverance/DS but running that combo assumes the killer is gonna facecamp.

This isn't quite the same but I played against a Wraith maybe 6 months ago who was clearly cheating at the game. Every time he came anywhere near, you would freeze and the game would only resume when you were down. It got to post game chat, 4kills of course and we commented on him cheating. He laughed and said "Use the in-game reporting, it doesn't do anything. I have been doing this for months and I have all the skins unlocked(hacked)". We didn't do the in-game reporting, we sent a ticket through the website. Checked his profile a few weeks later and he received a ban. The ticket system seems to work better than in-game reporting. It is just a lot more effort to do.

It's true. I had a group of survivors once stall the game for like 25 minutes (Refusing to do gens, in Hawkins of all places) and I reported it with post-game chat where they not only admitted to it, but used homophobic and racial slurs against me. I reported it in-game and did the post game report as well and even though I had picture proof of them admitting to doing it, they still demanded to see a video of me wandering around Hawkins patrolling gens/seeking out survivors for nearly 25 minutes before they would even do anything. It's crazy.

Of course you had to put your "Survivors are underpowered" agenda in here.

Most definitely. Because they are. I play enough solo queue to see that.

  • Killers are definitely OP and survivor buffs are needed. But this is mostly for uncounterable things. Everything in the game should have some sort of counterplay and that goes for both sides. NoED HAS counterplay and doesn't need to be removed/nerfed at all.

  • It's not that he's "unfun" it's that he's outright overpowered. He needs like several million nerfs and I have no idea how he's managed to almost be around for a year and the most devs have done is make like a 2% adjustment to some add-ons. But they'll nerf survivors every update.

  • hI kIlLeR mAiN hErE. ThIs GaMe Is NoT bAlAnCeD uNlEsS I gEt a 4K eVeRy GaMe.

  • I recently did my Nurse adept on PS4. I had never played before. I started with just practicing learning how to down people with her and getting the timing right. That took me about a day. Then the 2nd day I was able to get Merciless with her towards the end of the day. I'm by no means a pro, but I was lucky that the group that I went against were total potatoes when it came to nurse. But I had the gist of it down at least. You'll get there. Don't give up.

  • Really, OP? I'm on NA East and getting games within seconds as survivor. Seems pretty alive to me.

  • There was also a meme going on this weekend where if you were wearing the Bunny Feng outfit then killers were to bring Deathslinger with a Mori to hunt some wabbits. :) I participated on the survivor side and it was pretty fun when it happened.

That achievement was absolutely antagonising to get and it gave me a whole new respect for console Nurse mains (despite there not being many of them), the only reason I got it was because I was on the Game and that is where I get most of my killer achievements that I don't play often due to the map being quite compact.

Oh I hear you. The Entity blessed me with survivors that were complete potatoes against a Nurse. Like they had never gone against her before and had no idea what to do. They respected the ######### outta me even though I missed half of my blink hits and I still managed to get Merciless SOMEHOW. Nurses on console are the only killers I won't disrespect.

Great way to somehow make this about how entitled you are. Just because you don't agree with some people's complaints doesn't mean everyone's making excuses. Play both sides before you think you're god's second son.

Congrats OP, hope your stay in red ranks isn't too bad although as you said if you just sit back and try to relax and not sweat it's not that bad. Maybe even a bit better than red rank solo surv.

I have played both sides, actually. A lot. Enough that I have the Platinum and the DLC achievements 100% on Ps4.

I hate Diversion ever since my friend was like look at this magic trick and threw a pebble at me only for Spirit with old prayer beads showed up and instadowned me from haunted.

Well old prayer beads aren't a thing anymore so don't hate on Diversion. :P

  • @Desh said:

I somehow miraculously got adept nurse with no add-ons as a Rank 1. I think it's only because people rarely go against her these days on PC.

Try Nurse on console then talk to us about miracles. Lol. I have never been more bullied as killer than when I was a nurse and the survivors knew I was trash.

  • Anything you can loop, I can loop better:

    • Sprint Burst
    • Spine Chill
    • Resiliance
    • Iron Will

    The Trickster of the Fog:

    • Red Herring
    • Deliverance
    • Decisive Strike
    • Diversion
  • I've played a lot of Pig in the last year and I can count on one hand the number of times I've actually killed a survivor with a trap. Pig is a slow killer and knows that tunneling someone with a trap is useless because they're out of the game until they remove that trap. Leaving everyone else to do gens is how bad pigs end up with a 1k at most. Pig needs some type of rework that still gives her that really fun SAW appeal, but without feeling so underpowered.

  • I unlocked all the trophies DbD has to offer on PS4.

  • The OP isn't wrong though. Most of the junk on the DbD Rift has been, well, basic. Props to Ice Hag, Mr Puddles, and the Feng outfit, however. The only reason I've bought both is to support the company. But, looking at this 3rd Rift...it's almost an insult. I know they plan to offer the cosmetics in the shop eventually, but if they didn't, 5 years down the road nobody is going to look at my Jane Romero skin and be like, "Wow, where did you get that???". They're so basic. This is a horror game that takes place in another dimension. Where are all the kickass outfits? I can come up with this stuff in my sleep.

    Like....

    • 90s Raver Jake. Complete with bustafunk phat pants, glowstick charms, tie dye hoodie, and frosted tips hair.
    • Magical Girl Feng. A Sailor Moon-esque warrior of the fog
    • GI Jane. From that time she played a commando in a terrible B-rated war movie. Complete with busty top, commando helmet, and army fatigues.
    • Pro Wrestler David. Topless David with a wrestling championship belt slung over his shoulder, boxer gloves, and a pair of league shorts.
    • Wood Nymph Claudette. A majestic, fantasy version of Claudette where she's become intertwined with her love of plants...literally! Picture like one of those beautiful wood nymphs from Disney's Hercules but made into something more fit to match DbD (And original, of course).
    • Wannebe Gangsta Dwight. Baggy jeans, oversized tee, a little bit of bling, and a backwards cap back when he had that awkward phase in high school.

Like there's just so many easy things they can do and we get reskins or basic outfits for the most part.... I wish I could draw because I would totally enter the community contest. But alas, I can't.

However...I'm totally willing to sign a release BHVR if you wanna steal my ideas. I don't need any reward in return. I'll even let you take credit for them.

  • As someone who recently blasted through killer adepts AND has all the survivor adepts...I do think the difficulty is unfair. As survivor you just need to escape. Killers have to get merciless. As survivor you can get hooked twice, do no gens, barely loop the killer and you get a reward as long as you escape. Killers literally can't make any mistakes and have to play a fair game which isn't always possible.

HOWEVER....you can bring an ebony mori and tunnel the crap out of ONE person and remove them from the game immediately and still get merciless. But, everyone else has to be hooked three times. That does make it a little easier.

  • Oh look. A killer that actually got good. What's all the other killer's excuses?

Good job, man! Be proud of that!

  • That map definitely needs some adjustments. However, prior to the BL nerf, it was THE WORST map to get as killer. Now its kinda ######### for both sides because nobody really runs BL anymore. It just takes a little longer for killers to catch survivors than usual.

  • @Liruliniel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/142794/how-to-put-this-in-a-friendly-way

Guess you'll have to learn to loop windows instead of pallet camping. Learn how to mind game and actually get better at the game overall. Killer's had to adapt with no Ruin and did fine. Now it's your turn with limited resources.

They did not do fine. LOL Do you even DbD forum, bro? The killers are still out in full force complaining about "muh ruin nerf".

  • @jebbush said:

He is an animal in human form and exists only to amuse us. Survivors have had it too good for too long. No longer can these noobs rely on their infinites, safe pallets, back to back jungle gyms and absurd map sizes. If you are complaining about the recent changes, I have only one advice for you. Get good.

I always love it when a killer main is the first to tell survivor mains to get good when they're literally the last to take their own advice. Lol

  • @Cheers said:

All I want is for him to take skill. I'm fine with the fact that he can cross the map in 2 seconds, but his snares need to be replaced or made that they take a minute to activate.

Right? He should be stopped in place like Hag and Trapper when he drops snares. I actually think fake pallets should be default and snares should be an add on.

  • I think until all 5 gens are complete camping should be penalized somehow. I've always thought the idea of the struggle phase being stopped or majorly slowed while the killer is within a certain range pretty fair. But once all 5 gens are done I mean the gates are inevitably going to open unless there's only one survivor left so there's no need to punish killers for just standing by the hook at that point. They really can't do much else to secure kills than camp.

  • The only time I get mad is when people stall the game. I recently had survivors stall the game for 20 minutes by just hiding in Hawkins while I was doing an adept trophy. Or when the killer just refuses to hook me when I'm the last survivor because I looped them too long at the beginning or something and they just sit there and play with my corpse until the last second. That's just a waste of my time and it's infuriating now that I get D/C penalties.

Everything else I'm pretty numb to at this point. Except Freddy as he needs a major nerf.

  • Killer mains. You can't give 'em an inch or they'll take a mile.

Nerf Freddy HARD though and Ill support this survivor nerf.

  • @Crazewtboy said:

Another issue is hook bombing. If you hook bomb before the killer gets the chance to leave, it only makes sense they would go after the injured and re-hook them because the game will snowball more the quicker you get rid of a survivor. Can't really blame a killer for that. So hook bombing would definitely have to be addressed with this

That's the worst thing you can do as killer. Two injured survivors is better than 1 downed and 3 fully healed.

  • STart slugging. Once you get two down, the other two HAVE to get off their gens and go help. Then you're in control. Then you swap out hooks until they've all been hooked multiple times and only a few gens have popped. You still get max points and can get merciless.

But isn’t your problem here the stupid use of Self care then, not the perk itself? On the rare occasion I use it I don’t leave myself open like that, in fact at a lot of loops you can sneak in 1-2 seconds of self care mid chase.

I could say the same about Inner strength for stupid use, I’ve unhooked people and instead of letting me heal them they run away, cleanse a totem, THEN climb in a locker

If they're cleansing a totem AND THEN healing they're doing it wrong. A good survivor should already have one ready unless something ######### happened like the killer spawned next to them at the start of the match and they got downed instantly. In that case you taking time to heal them would be faster. But if they have IS ready after being unhooked and you wanna heal them...that's not very productive. Two survivors healing means two survivors not on gens.

1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 15
