Hmm.. So, how about BT or DS? They perform the function of protection against tunneling and are quite strong, but no one complains about them. Therefore, I do not think that my proposal will change much. I, perhaps, went through the fact that the distance to activate the effect is very large, maybe I will reduce it

You can tunnel through BT though. I do it all the time if I'm being gen rushed. DS I just leave them on the ground and walk away and check back every few seconds to see if they're being healed.

  • The latter two are alright. But that first one would absolutely demolish killers and is OP. Improved vaulting speeds for 30 seconds? Unless the survivor is a total potato the killer is never going to be able to catch them. And 30 seconds is enough for those two survivors that aren't doing anything to make good progress on gens or basically finish them entirely as the killer still has to find them afterwords.

  • Prior to the Balanced Landing nerf I would have agreed with you, but not nowadays. There's like 3 safe pallets, only one of which is guaranteed to spawn. The rest are completely useless and basically a distraction to allow the killer to catch up to you.

  • Self-care requires you to heal out in the open wasting a lot of time and potentially exposing yourself to Nurse's Calling or a ######### tunneling killer.

Inner Strength on the other hand, if used correctly, puts you back in the game in a less vulnerable state right away without all the extra hassle. By used correctly I mean you start the match looking for a totem which, if you know where to find them, is quite easy. Then once you're downed you can hop in a nearby locker as most hooks have lockers nearby and you're ready to go in a much shorter time.

  • Wut? I don't know anyone that plays regularly that had issues getting to Tier 70. I did it this time ignoring a lot of the killer challenges (Mostly because I didn't have Spirit or Doctor levelled at the time) and still managed to get to 70. Is this a troll post?

you do not need to do gens to escape with the key. You can wait for them all to die then follow the killer to the hatch. Watch them close it and then escape for free.

not to mention how many gens are normally done before someone is hooked their first time? Around 2.

the killer has to find someone, down them, hook them, wait for them to get unhooked, down them again, and the mori them. That is enough time to do 3 or more gens in some cases.

For like the worst of the worst of killers that have no idea what applying gen pressure is.

  • Don't focus on the survivor you have on the hook. You hit one of the ones that come in to save them and carry them further away from the exit gates to the next hook down the line. Wash, rinse, repeat until either you mess up or the survivors get the picture and leave.

  • SWF have the ability to counter camping. But solo queue definitely needs some type of anti-camping buff for survivors. My personal suggestion is to have a baseball bat spawn in pre-determined locations on every map that survivors can equip like a regular item. Its a one-time use item that stuns the killer for 5 seconds which is enough to grab someone off the hook and take a hit in the process.

This would especially be useful when there's only two survivors left and the killer is camping one of em.

I don’t think a key is cheating particularly because it gets to a point where it’s unfair for survivors to do that last gen. It’s Simply not doable . They need the key to give them an alternate way of escaping. But if you think about it, survival games have always had multiple ways of escaping. So there’s nothing wrong with having a key. Killers got it easier in this game than they do in most other games in my opinion.

This. And with the way that BHVR is going with the mega survivor nerfs and basically giving free hits and downs to killers doing the last gen WILL be impossible. So keys need a buff and moris need a nerf.

  • NoED definitely doesn't need to be removed. Its 100% counterable. Run Inner Strength instead of self-care. It takes care of half of those totems.

    Well you just got more.

    Slower repair speed in groups.

Smaller progress bonus on a great skill check.

    Smaller maps.

Really pandering to the killer mains and their moaning at the moment.

    Exactly!! PREACH!!!!

Survivor's idea of balance: I want to be able to feel like I had a chance at escaping, but due to my own negligence or the killer's actual capability, I may not.

Killer balance: I need a 4k in every match.

I can say the same about pretty much all the killers perks.

Other than hex totems, not really. But even then Haunted Ground and Retribution is a thing now.

Survivors have a million second chance perks, but sure. Call it killer sided. Sure.

Which are all easily counterable, by the way.

  • I'm honestly not even surprised. Lol. This game is, and always has been, 100% killer-sided. The worst part is that its almost an insult to survivors who have taken the time to develop skill to prevent the killer from downing them. Meanwhile killers are being spoonfed free hits and downs by the devs.

  • Some games you're gonna get genrushed and there's nothing you can do it about. There is a luck factor that happens right at the start of game where everyone is placed randomely across the map. If you're unlucky then you got 4 survivors that all spawned separately and therefore 4 different gens are being worked on right at the start.

  • Here's how I prevent this when I play killer:

    1) If I haven't gotten a hook by the time I get 2 gens to pop, it's time to start slugging to pull them off gens. I will ensure I always have 2 people down on the ground at any given time and swap out the one I do hook to ensure that I maximize my points to get merciless.

    2) If I see a survivor out of position, I have to ask myself: Is there anyone else that could currently be working on a generator? If so, then I ignore them and look for a survivor that is doing gens.

    3) Corrupt Intervention + Dead Man's Switch + Pop are your BFFs if you're not good at ending chases quickly and gens are popping in your face. (P.S: It's really fun to have DMS and see survivors attempt to pop a gen in your face and you smack em once and it triggers leaving the gen untouchable for like 40 seconds lol)

    4) Hook survivors closer to the gens you need to watch if possible so that you're nearby to slug the recently unhooked survivor to keep an extra person off of a gen.

  • I personally don't D/C when I see a mori as it probobly means the killer is bad and keeps getting steamrolled. So I just let them have their little win.

However, as moris are way more OP compared to keys, I wouldn't blame someone that does.

  • Nurse then Legion. All the rest I got within 1 or 2 attempts. Clown was by far the easiest.

  • When the dedicated servers on PS4 released it was amazing. Everything felt like it should have. But then a week or so later it started to degrade and now you have what we have now. But I have a question. Every other game that I play has maintenance. Why is DbD the only game that doesnt shut down for a bit for a reboot? I think it is much needed.

  • It's actually an inside joke amongst my group of friends that plays DbD. Essentially Jake is the character that has a questionable ethnicity as different skins can make him look native, latino, asian, caucasian, and even south asian. So since he's basically the character that represents everyone...why not make him the gay one too? Thus gay pride Jake was born.

  • OP sounds like a killer main attempting to slyly pretend to be a survivor to ######### about survivors gen rushing. 😂

  • GOTHic Lolita, yes.

    Gay Pride Jake, too.

And JNCO Jeans Jake for the 90s kids amongst us.

  • Campers are one of two things:

    1) Lousy killers

    2) Got boned cuz they were outplayed by a survivor and figures taking them out of the game is some form of revenge. Personally, I find it hilarious because it means I did well.

But to reiterate what everyone else has said: When a chainsaw killer is camping the hook...just go do gens. It's not worth it. I've seen so many games bomb due to overly altruistic survivors. Yeah, 3 people in a game suck. But 3 people can definitely complete 2 gens (Which is what should be left, ideally before the person dies) and with the lack of multiple survivors being hooked there should be plenty of pallets leftover for the last two gens to be completed.

With all that said though, there definitely needs to be some sorta built-in game counter to the chainsaw killers that camp. I proposed a baseball bat that could be found on the map in pre-determined locations like hex totems that can be used as a 1-time use item that stuns the killer for 5 seconds allowing for a hook save.

  • In two weeks you've only been able to use it three times? Bullshit. I've been running Inner Strength since the day it came out and I'd say there's only been a handful of games I've managed to get no totems on and that's because the killer spawned right next to me and I had no time or something. Seems like you need to spend a little time in KYF and learn your totem spawn locations.

  • Listen, I'm the first to agree with survivor mains that killers are crazy OP and the game is 100% killer-sided. But BBQ and Chili is not overpowered in any way whatsoever. If you really hate it that much take distortion. Then after your 3 tokens are used up start hiding in lockers. If I had to take a guess, you're new-ish to the game (6 months tops) and are still in that phase where you're comfortable moving about and completing objectives but are afraid to loop the killer.

You need to get over that fear. Watch videos of insanely good survivors like Ayrun and Ussylis. See how they move about the map and loop the killer. Once you learn how to loop you'll find BBQ and Chili is only bad news for you when you're the last survivor left.

  • I beg to differ. Lol. I very rarely meet a killer main that has issues tracking survivors through the corn. Rotten Fields is a killer's playground as there's basically nothing in the middle of the map aside from shack where the pallet always gets dropped early. All the other crap is on the outer edge of the map and if the survivors are really unlucky will just be filled with T/L walls that are facing the wrong way.

  • @SasukeKun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1179035#Comment_1179035

There isn't many killer sided maps to begin with other than the indoor ones. Even then some killers don't prosper.

    Uh.. You're joking, right?

Rotten Fields, Shelter Woods, Gas Heaven, Azarov's (If they know what they're doing), the entire Backwater Swamp, and Yamaoka to name a few.

Survivors have Thompsons House, two variations of Badham, a couple of Coldwind/Macmillan maps only if a god loop is open, and technically Haddonfield but nobody brings BL anymore so its kinda bad.

  • That saloon is literally all survivors have aside from shack. Every pallet on that map is not only unsafe but downright useless. And thanks to dedicated servers killers just rack up easy hits. Then when you get a down there's a hook literally within 1 metre in every direction so you're already onto your next free down.

Don't touch the saloon. Its the only place that prevents that map from being ANOTHER killer-sided map.

  • Why I camp:

    • It's SWF and I gotta take out one survivor right quick to ensure I win.
    • A survivor has OoO.
    • It's endgame and I haven't gotten a single kill and I wanna ensure I at least get one.
    • They were incredibly annoying and I wanted to put them in their place.
    • I'm memeing

    Why I tunnel:

    • There's a challenge in the rift that forces me to use Moris and I'm tunneling to ensure I got those kills.
  • If you're new to the game then ya, you're gonna die a ton as survivor. Like, a lot. You still don't know the maps, how to loop and waste time, or when to be altruistic vs when to do gens. Killer is so boring early on because all you gotta do is walk up to each survivor and down them. They don't even put up much of a chase.

I highly recommend you watch videos on how to loop effectively on YouTube. Once you know how to do this, you'll be able to waste the killer's time buying your team time to do gens.

Freddy can and will lose against a good swf if they try. Harder for solos to beat him,but still possible. Why shouldn't a killer be strong?

Killers can be strong. I'm fine with spirit, Hillbilly, and Oni for example. But there's a difference between Strong and OP. Freddy is 100% OP. He does everything. First is his crazy lunge that basically guarantees he hits you through pallets making for an easy first down. If he can't for some reason he 90% of the time has his snares that'll catch you. Once he gets his first down all he has to do is BBQ over to the gen someone is working on and pop it. Afterwords he pursues the survivor that he saw the aura of and he already has his next down. Often this is before the person he just hooked is unhooked. Wash, rinse, repeat. And if that's not crazy enough survivors are pushed into the dream world at a crazy fast rate making his only counter useless. Then we've got the Oblivious in dreamworld rendering perks like Borrowed Time useless so Freddy has free reign to camp/tunnel. I'm at the point with Freddy where I just wanna d/c when I go up against him but I can't because of the d/c penalty. It sucks.

    Freddy needs a hard nerf.

  • Corrupt Intervention is your best friend.

  • @Exor said:

Nah if you are good enough, the ones that are there are all you need, just like how if the killer is good enough, he can pressure survivors enough for the key to not be a threat. Perfect balance.

Which you'll only get to if you have borrowed time. If you're on Azeroth's/MacMillan's/Coldwind Farm there's a chance you'll be fine for a bit if you hit a good pallet. But all it takes is one unsafe pallet and you're dead. Any other map you're basically dead. Like the new map? Lol. Not a single safe pallet in the place.

  • PREACH! The only thing you forgot to mention is the fact that Freddy exists and he's insanely OP and the devs are fine with it and refuse to nerf him despite the fact they've shown statistics where he has a nearly 4k average.

  • @Exor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1171461#Comment_1171461

Alright, so Moris are fine too, since the counterplay is to not go down and not be greedy with pallets. So both are fine since they have counterplay.

That is a good counterplay. I guess they need to add more pallets/safe loops in order to do so. :)

  • @Exor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1171443#Comment_1171443

I mean if you consider slugging a counter to Keys, then just not going down and not being greedy with pallets is a counter to Moris. Even tho I agree that Moris should get nerfed to only be usable once everybody got hooked once, they are not a free win for killers. They are a HUGE boost yes and should be toned down, but if all survivors are good the mori can never come to use all game. Same with keys though, endgame is where the killer is the most powerful, since they may have a 3-gen and most resources are used up (especially with how early game works rn with non top tier killers). If you managed to get survivors into a 3 gen situation (either trough their misplays, which they should be punished for, or by you working towards it, which should reward you) and having full controll over the match, only to see 3 people escape trough the hatch right after, ignoring all their mistakes, is just as painful, if not more, as Moris, and I play both sides.

Well, ya. It is. Can't very well pop open the hatch when you're down on the ground.

  • I'd like to add to the collective that keys have a counter (Start slugging), moris do not. There's only so much you can do to stop a tunneling killer. But if they really want their kill, they'll get it.

  • Of course it was a Freddy. Lol. Dude probobly gets steamrolled all the time as any other killer because he's not good at the game so he hops on the only guaranteed 4k killer and starts slugging to take it out on survivors that were just playing the game. Some killers are total tools.

  • Demo doesn't need a buff, he needs a rework entirely. He's in the same category as nurse where I get excited when I find out its Demo because its an easy game. Just don't give him the Freddy treatment.

  • @terumisan said:

God windows have been around a lot longer than Freddy and they still aren't changed and don't forget when nurse got her "rework" they didn't change her map

God windows only appear in a few variations of certain maps. You can choose to be Freddy every game. Difference.

Who cares about a 4k. It's when you can barley even get 2k because of all the second chance perks these SWF teams run because there way to over powered. Anyone who CAN'T see that is either a noob, or doesn't care and wants the game to be a cakewalk on sWFs. ######### players play sWFs. The real good survivors play solo because they don't need a giant crutch helping them the entire match.

SwF is only a cakewalk when the killer is bad. If you don't apply any pressure to gens and just chase survivors outta position you're gonna have a bad time. But the number of killers that do this is astounding.

When I play killer Im not afraid to get creative. As an example, If I know people are doing gens and can't get to them in time I start slugging to drag them off. That combined with new ruin is a godsend.

A month ago this @Orionbash made a thread complaining about how new Freddy is OP with no counterplay and he can only win if he’s with his highly coordinated SWF. That pretty well tells us all we need to know, huh?!

I did! 😁 And Freddy still needs a mega nerf.

  • If you look at the history of the game and all changes that were made until now its evident the devs are heavily killer-sided. The fact that Freddy exists and they refuse to nerf the hell out of him is testament to that fact.

  • Lol. Killer mains are hilarious. "I cant get a 4k every game so delete" 😭😭😭

  • If you complain about keys and don't bring up moris, you're a hypocrite. If you don't wanna see keys, then don't bring a mori.

  • "I can't get a 4k every game. He's not viable!!!!111"

Clearly you've yet to learn how to play him properly. Deathslinger is a beast with the right loadout and know-how. Instead of aiming with the gun aim like you would huntress and quickly shoot. That's a good starting point. Also don't shoot the survivors first. You need to M1 them and then shoot them as they're running away.

As a killer if you want to get 4 k you have to use Billy, spirit, buba or Myers because they are strong but of you try to use another killer is so stressful for killers the genrush and for survivors it is very easy... The main example that this game is for survivors are keys, if there is only one generator and three survivors the hatch comes out and the effort of the killer to try to fit into the game goes away and the survivors escape very easily. and I don't want to say that the first 3 generators are very fast to do.... Devs need to listen to community a lot of discussions are

Again, the down/BBQ/down mindset. Let it go. After the ruin nerf those days are gone. If you're aware that a survivor has a key and they're down to 1 gen and you sacrifice the 1st survivor and allow hatch to spawn then that's on you and not on them. That would be an ideal time to start slugging for the 4k.

I am main survivor and it is too easy escape that is starting to be bored. Advantages to survivors Big maps, infinite loops, pallets so strong that the killer has to break, you can make 3 generators in 2 minutes, nobody wants to break totems anymore, before it was fun to find ruin, it was the first objective and then to make generators. Today survivors Just do generators a lot of games I must chase the killers in order to have fun running from him because so fast that the generators are made that sometimes you escape and the murderer never saw you. And the worst thing is that before to be rank 1 as a survivor it was a true challenge. today anyone can be just for repairing generators. I love this game and I buy everything that comes out, but if it continues like this I will look at other games.

Its only easy to escape against killers that are stuck in the down/BBQ/down mindset. I'm a solid survivor and killers still get their 4ks just by breaking the mold and trying new things/being creative.

  • @crixus006 said:

I agree with you the worst patch was nerfed ruin. This perk balanced the game but nowadays all patches are to help survivors I have not seen a nerf to a skill of survivors ... after the ruin began the problems of long waits and bad matches ..

Help survivors? What game are you playing? In the last 6 months survivors have got hit the hardest. No more instaheals/toolboxes. Balanced Landing. Sabo nerf. Breakable walls. All the new maps have loads of unsafe/useless pallets. Hooks everywhere.

I swear that a killer's idea of a balanced match is whether or not they get a 4k.
