Yeah sure. You know you can ran faster with more frames do you?
Game features have not been tied to framerate for some time now, with some exceptions (mostly Japanese games and games made for consoles).

Modder = someone using a modmenu for godmode, movement speed mods etc
Modder = Cheater = Hacker, doesnt matter what you call them theyre all the same
No, a modder would be, for instance, someone using different perk icons.
The difference between mods and cheats is very simple. Mods do not necessarily provide an in-game advantage. Cheats always do. Don't lump the two together.

Those are people with a script on PC, the least popular platform. Very few people obtain this game through those networks because it's not a thing on console.
PC, the least popular platform.
Source? As far as I know, PC is the biggest platform, since it's where the game originally launched, keeping in mind that "console" is not one platform.

You'd think there would be more of it or that it wouldn't be so unobvious a route to follow someone up there. trapped totems that persist, the repeated bug of getting stuck by the hill, the invisible wall off a balcony.
fix what they can and the rest is "fair"
They've fixed a few instances of climbing on rocks, I wouldn't be surprised if more fixes were coming.
Trapped totems are just a thing that killers with traps can do, it's literally their power to deny survivors certain areas.
Getting stuck on the hill is fixed, last I heard. It's also a bug, not a design decision.
Invisible wall off a balcony is intended, if there's a wall in that direction on the lower floor. It's to prevent survivors using Dead Hard or killers with some movement speed buff from going over (or onto) the wall.

I think 'they' decide, in exclusion, and I think that's an issue - community input ought to have more sway when it comes to the health of the game, coupled with transparency for the systems in place to deal with exploits, cheats, and toxicity, ideally headed by people with those notions foremost in their mind.
I disagree. While I do think the devs should take player feedback into consideration (as they do now), I don't think I've heard of a successful game that gave vocal players' opinions more sway in determining how the game is made than the devs' own insights, hard data, and so on. Those games tend to be run into the ground, from what I've heard.
None of us know the inner workings of the game and I doubt more than a tiny percentage have any experience in game development.
-
@ElusivePukka said:
"Mods/devs said it" is really a laughable notion as far as whether something ought to be considered a cheat, exploit, or unfair - especially since we've seen their priorities only shift when it directly affects them, such as with the flashlight update after Cote got bodied.
Who do you think decides what is or isn't allowed? The fact that the devs change their minds in the face of facts that contradict their previously held position (like any normal person should) doesn't mean they're not the ones who decide what the game should be like. It's their game.

Could you please provide a source for that?
I agree that it's very unlikely based on the description of that DLC, but personally I wouldn't rule it out completely either. Then again I wasn't aware that it would be paid DLC either - if you happen to have a source for that too I would appreciate it if you could include that.
I got confirmation from one of the wiki admins that the information shouldn't be there. He then told me how to fix it (mostly, there's something else that needs to be done, but I don't know how to do it).
To explain why I didn't need to ask him, though, would require getting into the inner workings of the wiki, which would be a boring conversation for everyone.

But if you go to the DBD wiki it states that Mikaela is part of the DLC.
Someone ######### up when creating her article and then someone else added the false information to the DLC article. She is not included in that DLC.
-
I would say it's similar to the Trapper being affected by his own traps. Furthermore, other survivors also count as "environment" (in reality, this just means "anything with a hitbox"). I don't think it'd be fair any other way.

So they had no way off testing if high sbmm was considered fair?🤔
Sure they did. With data. How else were they supposed to do it, taking into consideration the following:
- They're most likely not players with a high MMR
- Nobody knows their own MMR, meaning any feedback from people with supposedly high MMRs may or may not actually correspond to a high MMR
-

But I mean when they first started did they get sweaty swf or tunneling campers right off the bat like the rest of the veteran players?
That's another thing: from what I've seen, the devs don't take the trials as seriously as some other players, so even if they had, they wouldn't have cared and likely forgot about it.
-
Testing it would be playing normally and seeing how the algorithm determines their MMR, which is probably not what you'd consider "high". Game developers are usually not that good at the games they make.

But as u might understand, I can only speak about my experience and the lack of fun I'm experimenting more and more lately. And that's what I do.

That’s not what I’m saying though. The point of the change was to provide greater add-on variety, but it doesn’t do that because his other add-ons are just as bad as they were before, so the change doesn’t achieve its goal and actually makes the best add-ons slightly worse. That’s why it’s terrible.
It provides greater add-on variety by (partially) making some add-ons part of his base-kit. That way, players can use different add-ons while still retaining some of the benefits of the ones they were running all the time.

It’s an objectively terrible change. People weren’t asking for recovery add-ons to be nerfed, they were asking for other add-ons to be buffed.
His most viable add-on combination was nerfed. Yes, you can now use any combination of useless add-ons and have your power up slightly faster, but that is not a buff, nor is it a positive change, because the add-ons in question are essentially…useless. The only viable one is an iridescent so you can’t even use it consistently.
It’s an objectively terrible change. People weren’t asking for recovery add-ons to be nerfed, they were asking for other add-ons to be buffed.
The fact that people were asking for something else doesn't mean it's "an objectively terrible change" (as if such a thing even existed).
His base-kit was buffed. That's always a positive, in my opinion. Killers should not be reliant on add-ons.

Bugs was just a example, the point is (and the bottom line) BVHR drops the ball with feedback, There was a huge influx of feedback with Legion/Ghostface on their releases and they had issues that were ignored (another example but I can pull up more examples of BVHR ignoring 'feedback') Including feedback about AFK survivors emoting to prevent afk crows which there is still no solution to AFKers
Don't conflate "ignore" with "follow their own opinions", please. I can listen to an idea, decide it's bad using my own brain, and go with my own idea. Doesn't mean I ignored the idea, I simply considered it and concluded it was bad.
Similarly, given that there's almost always negative feedback about literally anything the devs say or do, is it really any surprise that they consider negative responses to be premature, especially if they demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of the core concept of the ideas they're criticizing?
-
The PTB patch notes are there for all to see, in the same place as always. If the devs were trying to hide information, they did a really poor job of it.

not looking for a stereotype I’m looking for someone who genuinely looks Hispanic. Jane has a button nose, extremely light skin, very rounded eyes, etc. it’s not problematic to say that most of the outfits we get for girls come off as more masculine and tomboyish. Like sorry I want to dress in a game how I dress irl lol.
I hope you mean "extremely light skin compared to the people I'm used to seeing", because if Jane has "extremely light skin", then I must have albinism.

This has been vamped up so much more. I understand endgame getting your kill by any means buy first hook of the game? I'm a 50/50 player. I blame this new emblem system mixed with MMR. You can de-rank past what ever color you are. I had a guy message me nd say this is how the Devs made this game. I face camp everyone, aslong as I rank up by the end of the month I don't care. Also NOED is being use 1000% more than it use to be
Camping will remain as long as survivors continue to reward it. Camping actually removes some emblem points, as long as survivors aren't also near the hook. The fact that that killer can (supposedly) rank up while camping just means survivors are rewarding it.
If NOED is a big issue, there are perks you can equip, like Small Game, to help you deal with it.
@Apollos said:
OK. But that doesn't change the fact that it's unfun and robs someone from getting to play.
Neither side is entitled to a certain length of time where they do whatever they want. The survivor did get to play, they just made several mistakes and ended up on the hook.
As for "unfun", it depends on who you ask, since "fun" is relative.

Again, if you feel there should be exceptions for private matches, you need to make a suggestion. However, if someone alters game files, they should always keep in mind that being banned is a possibility.

-
I think it's mostly just the way the human brain works. Current Freddy's problems are front-and-center, as it were, whereas old Freddy's problems are far away in the past and therefore don't seem as important by comparison, since you're no longer being reminded of them.
-
I like to remind myself that it's just a game and I don't need to care about whether or not I'm better than other players - or even the game itself. I still lose my cool occasionally (a certain boss in Sekiro, for instance, made me lose my patience and become very aggressive), but overall I find that I have more patience for these little problems.
I would also advise you not to look at other people's profiles if you're going to compare yourself with them. Just don't bother.

No I really do. The devs seem allergic to actually pretty cosmetics for the girls. It’s just pants all day long they seem so scared to give a female survivor a skirt besides Feng who has plenty.
I like women wearing pants, though. Much more form-fitting and functional than skirts, provided they got some with pockets. It's all a matter of perception.

Admit it you guys don’t care about the game, if you did, you’d get rid of the cheaters. I know one cheater who’s been at it for nearly a year. Get a better anti cheat. How many people work at BHVR? 600 or so? Ironic how your anti cheat don’t work on hackers but it banned my friend who used free cam in custom games or whatever it’s called. Nice to know you got your priorities straight. :)
Your friend got banned for cheating, just like many others have been. If you want the devs to create exceptions for custom matches, that's a suggestion you need to make.

What's to stop hackers from just giving the server false information? For instance, tell the server you used that medkit add-on several seconds earlier so it triggers instantly.

Good Player will indeed try to make up for his mistakes and it ain't camping
That's like saying like good player use dead hard to cover up his mistakes in looping no they ain't good survivor they just pressed E to outplay killer same thing with camping stand still for the win
Why not camping, though? It's a perfectly legitimate tactic that's only as effective as the survivors allow it to be.
-

So you think covering your mistake by camping means you achieved something? Oh plss and a fat cat will catch a mouse if he ain't moving same thing about camping it's a cheap move keep trying if u lose it's ur fault ur mistakes has consequences and you can either own up to them and keep trying or you can stand still and play starring contest and see who blinks first
So you think covering your mistake by camping means you achieved something?
You first. Do you think a good player is the one who doesn't try to make up for his mistakes and just lets himself lose whenever he screws up?
-
@justbecause said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2521615#Comment_2521615
1 kill by camping is no win, 3 escapes, depip aren't win Whereas good Player will pip and get at least 2 kills I don't understand where did you pulled out from that they will lose? Because they don't chase one person whole game? Actually patrol gens? Doesn't camp and has a lot more time for new downs? Well interesting
We're not talking about that.
In the scenario where a player made a mistake (which everyone does, because nobody is perfect), you think the good player will just "accept it" and lose without even attempting to switch tactics to compensate for the mistake, whereas the bad player will actually switch tactics to adapt and win.
This is what we're talking about.
-
@justbecause said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2521473#Comment_2521473
Good Player will pressure gens, will not go against same survivor for too much time and certainly won't camp and give them time to finish all gens and escape that's what good Player is
But oh well keep turning my words upside down so you can turn them into your favor never did i ever said what you just implied i said first off good Player won't lose because they have right technique and no room left for mistakes even if they get 2 kills that's what balance was always for and most likely they will pip too getting 1k with camping is still a loss, depip and cheap play
But I'm tired of repeating myself so I guess you do you and I'll do me
I mean, that is what you're saying, that a good player will just let himself lose if he makes a mistake, whereas a bad player will change tactics to win.
-
@justbecause said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2521279#Comment_2521279
If for you they are good players nobody stops u from thinking that
In my book they are the absolute worst
Kind of players that lack of skills and play badly and than cover up their mistakes by scummy plays and gets rewarded by it and as I already said all players I encountered that are like this are truly bad at their role and that's fine because they will learn once ofc unless they keep being like that and rely on camping
To reiterate, you are saying that a good player is someone who purposefully handicaps himself and loses, while a bad player is someone who doesn't and wins. Does that seem logical to you?
-
@EvilJoshy said:

Yes the survivor is being punished because of killers lack of skills does survivor gets rewarded when they do mistake in looping? No they go down and die...
I have played this game for 3 years both roles and I'm yet to see good killer camping outside endgame (I don't count endgame camping because that's only thing they can do at end and it's justified)
You can't tell me good killer will willingly let gens fly like crazy and chase one person whole match that's called being bad player
I can tell you a few things.
- Good players make mistakes, just like anyone else. They're only human.
- Good players adapt to the circumstances. That means they don't stick to one strategy all the time if they see it's not working, and it especially means they will change tactics to compensate for their inevitable mistakes.
- Good players don't let themselves lose just because they made one mistake.
- Good players don't artificially restrict themselves because of their opponents' opinions on certain tactics.
And no, survivors aren't being punished. They're losing. There's a difference.
-
@justbecause said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2521173#Comment_2521173
Yeah it is if you made mistakes and it's nobody's fault but your own than own up to it nobody forced them to chase one person you're clearly seeing only one side which is killer side that survivor who gets face camped is punished for the mistakes killer made while they did good but it's dbd I'm not surprised poor plays gets rewarded and good ones punished
The survivor isn't being punished, the killer is taking responsibility for their mistake and changing tactics. The survivor's death is the killer's goal.
-
@justbecause said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2521145#Comment_2521145
I'm not gonna argue with you they are bad players it's their fault and their mistake and their lack of skills own up to it and lose like a man next time you'll realize your mistakes instead turning on puss* mode and covering it up and this is a fact ppl tend to ignore their mistakes and blame others and say "well I had to camp" no you didn't u lost right there when u decided to chase single person whole match
...But they are realizing their mistake, which is why they changed strategies. "Losing like a man" doesn't mean you make one mistake and then immediately surrender without even trying anything else.
-
@justbecause said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2520865#Comment_2520865
Or you know bad Player that made wrong decision to chase one Player most of game when they knew they won't be able to make it what you do after that is covering your mistakes not adapting strategy to circumstances
Covering for your mistakes by changing your strategy is a form of adaptation.
Are you saying someone who made a mistake and is about to lose should keep playing in the same way and just lose? How does that make them a better player than someone who changes their strategy after realizing their mistake and wins?
-
@justbecause said:
Well 99% of time they are baby killers who were ran around for minutes and in exchange they camp and tunnel to regain some control
Sounds like a player adapting his strategy to the circumstances.
