No? Rainbow flag is everywhere. It's not wrong, but it's political.
LGBT people existing is not political, though. You want actual, real-world politics.

Stereotypes are harmful 90% of the time. So no, I'm not in favor of adding something that will be a stereotype/token.
Well, there you go, that's all you had to say.
Again, I happen to agree with you.

No politics, please.

So because console performance is bad, you're going to purposefully get fewer points and make other players get fewer points? How is that supposed to help?

I'm in favor of having LGBT characters, as long as they don't look stereotypical/token, because that does more harm than actual inclusion, because it gives the message that to be LGBT you have to look a different way.
So no, you are not in favor of adding LGBT characters if they happen to fit a certain stereotype, even though some real-life LGBT people do fit certain stereotypes, which is what @Johnny_XMan has been saying. And then you told @Johnny_XMan that they shouldn't only want representation for LGBT people who think like they do, which is what you're doing.
Just for the record, I don't think the first character should be stereotypical either (though I'm sure bad faith actors will pretend they are in order to stir up controversy). I like accuracy, however.

No it isnt. I wasn't the one @ someone and trying to tell them they were wrong for saying not all LGBT are visible.
So you are in favor of adding LGBT characters even if they happen to fit a certain stereotype (just like some real LGBT people)?

You called me "dear", which is very condescending and rude. You don't need to call someone a slur for it to be insulting.
If you want people to read what you have to say, don't talk to people like they're below you.
You shouldnt only want representation for LGBT people who think the same as you.
You shouldnt only want representation for LGBT people who think the same as you.
Isn't that what you're doing, though, by purposefully wanting to exclude LGBT people who happen to fit a certain stereotype?

Things to do in Dead by Daylight:
1) Get the RPD map working
2) Make survivors less strong at high level play
3) Reduce bloodpoint grind so that people don't have to play 3,000 hours to max out a character
4) Fix indoor maps being terribly designed
5) Fix ghost face's reveal mechanic
6) Balance/fix terrible perks on both sides
7) Buff terrible killers (Legion, Trapper, Clown)
I think adding a gay survivor can wait
Do you think artists and people who write the lore are the same ones who work on code?

That would be very difficult.
Instead they should make a abandoned Deathgarden Map, The Entity ate up the place when it was disbanded.
BHVR could possible recuperate some losses with that idea.
I know, this is just a pipe dream.
-
This would be highly abusable because you could equip yourself to deal with a specific killer, "prefer" that killer, and win easily. The only way I see this working is if you had to go in "naked" (no perks, no items, no offerings).

I never got the opportunity to play deathgarden before it shut down. Which is a damn shame because the game looked so fun :(
It was an amazing game, one of the best asymmetrical games I've ever played. I loved the fast-paced action, freedom of movement (i.e.: parkour), and weapons. It is indeed a damn shame.

It's not criticism, I'm saying it shouldn't have been a bug to begin with.
I'm saying how do you implement a tutorial that punishes people for wanting to learn the game.
First of all, it was a bug. It wasn't an intentional implementation.
Second of all, "punishes" is an extreme way to look at it. It unequipped cosmetics; that's annoying, but not harmful.

I've prepared them in KYF obviously as there is only 2 of us me being killer was hard.... (1 hooked in seconds)
As survivor I brought insta heals, flashlights, keys etc. Just to show them how OP they can be.
I also told them about the massive grind.
Even then they say they still want to play 0_0
If you showed them all that and they still want to play, then it sounds like they're ready. Go on, in SWF or not, and have fun.
-
As far as I know, the matchmaking takes into account the average rank in an SWF group.
Best advice is to prepare them mentally for the inevitable losses until they get better at the game. Because it will happen, a lot. And also the inevitable annoyances (being camped, tunneled, stunned, etc.).
-
If survivors are working with the killer, that is reportable and bannable. Record, send an in-game report, then send in a support ticket with the recording.
-
Felix.
For... reasons.
-
@Schardon said:
Theoretically it should take the median value of your to ranks. So 19+14 = 33 / 2 = 16.5.
Assuming the two other survivors will be rank 16 and rank 17 the killer should also be around 16.
That's the theory! :D
Practically you'll just get whatever killer is available to shorten the waiting time since there's a killer shortage and match making in this game is practically non-existent anyways.
Average/Mean, not median.
-
I have a little over a million, but I didn't save it on purpose, I just didn't spend it because there were no perks I wanted.
-
Tunneling is not an exploit, but if you (or other players) were targeted, you can report the player who did it.

maybe if they up it to 10 gens maybe? i feel like it would be quite a challenge
They'd be able to get 6 gens done by the time two survivors were hooked, and killers CANNOT deal with 4 survivors trying to unhook simultaneously.
-
2v6, maybe. 2v8 would be unwinnable for killers.

I mean its a public forum i don't really care if you guys give a damn or not respectfully. Also it's not really a bad attitude when the comment offers nothing to the discussion. Discussion isn't about grammar it's about the game. It's also very disrespectful as well.
You're missing the point.
If what you're saying is difficult (or impossible) to understand, nobody (BHVR included) is going to care about what you mean. Why would they, if you're not trying to communicate clearly?

do you know on certain maps it could egit take you like 15-20 minutes to find 2-3 totems, nvm 5, I don't fancy playing 30-40 minute games
There are 4 survivors.
-
Here's an example of why "survivor threads" are usually shot down.
As you know, there's an "upheaval" about how, when survivors run in a straight line, they can waste far too much of the killer's time, to the point that the killer is better off never trying to catch them in the first place. It's commonly referred to as "Shift+W" or "Hold W" or just "W".
The threads from people pointing out this issue have detailed explanations of the problem, about how it's a game design issue (note that survivors are not being blamed for the problem), and so on.
The responses from (presumably) survivor mains are mocking the complaints, pretending that killers are saying that "running is toxic" or "killers want survivors to spawn on hooks", and so on. Basically, saying a bunch of things that nobody has actually said to try to dismiss the very real issue that has been presented, because it's bad for "their side".
To me, this shows that a lot of the people who start threads about survivors either don't understand or don't care about nuance, they don't read the actual arguments being put forth, and generally don't argue in good faith.
When they start their own threads about survivor issues, they will, naturally, be made with the same mentality. Unreasonable demands (that they projected onto killers), black-and-white thinking (either X or not-X), and so on.
That's not to say that some killer threads do not also suffer from these issues, but those are also shot down. Thing is, when "killer threads" are opened, they're more often accompanied by detailed explanations, calculations, numbers, and so on, than "survivor threads".
-
The devs are not going to cleanse totems for you.
You have the tools to deal with the problem. Use them.

It was released exclusively alongside this chapter is what I meant. People will buy the chapter along with DBD thinking they'll be able to play the RPD map and they can't, while Behavior still advertises it like you can.
That was my point. But there's a fine line between being polite and being inappropriately empathetic with a team putting out a product. You don't have to point out problems with unfair demands or by shouting and cursing, but you also shouldn't fool yourself into worrying about how much they care when you're still being had.

BHVR has never advertised a DLC as being necessary to play the new map. This is what it says on the Steam store page:
NEW MAP: RACCOON CITY POLICE STATION*
Once home to the RPD’s elite S.T.A.R.S. unit, the labyrinthine hallways of this converted art museum are now overrun by the undead and host to a relentless evil.
*This map is free for all players.
There's plenty to complain about BHVR. This is not one of those things.

The problem is that you immediately assume the worst possible intention, so you feel justified in saying you've "been had" and not caring about them as people.

As a customer, I think they deserve to be grilled for a lot of things. Why should we spend more on each chapter and cosmetic when we get content that's broken? I've been asking them to fix the Ashy Slashy puppet for months, which they've finally acknowledged but when are they actually gonna do it? Tomorrow is the 2 week mark from when the RE chapter released and the RPD map exclusive to the chapter is still off-limits too. They still sell things like this knowing these issues without doing their best to inform the consumer.
As far as the game itself goes, every update comes with the most bizarre bugs that make trials insufferable at times (like survivors screaming at full blast from across the map, palettes not stunning or going invisible, hud elements disappearing, etc.) and they're usually such obvious things that it makes you wonder how they could've missed them at all. You can always assume that something is going to be weird or straight up busted every time they update the game.
I believe you should always do your best to be polite. But when someone sells you something making claims that are untrue or withholding important information, they're taking advantage of your trust to turn a profit. Thankfully this is just a video game and not something vital to anyone's well-being, but it's really ridiculous to see people say "well they tried" at times when they're being incompetent at best and manipulative at worst.

The map is not exclusive to the DLC. No map is, in fact. This has been the case since DbD was released.

Politeness and trust are not synonyms. You can be polite when pointing out problems, just like you can be impolite while agreeing.

This is more about if BHVR should be more "open" about their problems and if it's something consumers would be interested in, not whether the consumer should be empathetic (we should strive to be, but expecting it out of everyone that touches the game isn't a realistic standpoint from BHVR's side).
It's entirely possible to be human, and have it turned against you, where the bad usually stings worse than the comfort of understanding.
BHVR tried that, once upon a time. The deluge of misinformation (WIP stuff being shown, then, when it didn't come out exactly as shown, claims that BHVR "lied"), toxicity, and so on, made them stop.
No, I don't think BHVR should be more open, not until they can excise the part of the player base that's like this.
-
Yes.
Without mentioning the fact that every developer, moderator, etc., is a human being and therefore deserving of empathy, from a purely selfish perspective, you want people who are enthusiastic about making games to be developers, because they are the ones who make the best games. If you're a toxic/hostile customer who does nothing but make their lives miserable, they'll quit and get replaced with people who don't give a ######### about the product.
So if you want people who don't care about games to be developers because the others became disillusioned by your attitude, you should definitely be a toxic/hostile customer.
If, on the other hand, you want games with a certain level of quality, behaving like a normal human being (with empathy) and showing them a minimum of respect goes a long way.
-
Unbalanced as hell and should not be a thing.
-
My only way of self-healing is Inner Strength. If I can't find a totem nor another survivor willing to heal me, what else should I do? Just start searching chests at random?

Name: Omnipotence
Description: You have full control over everything (because you are everything). By activating Omnipotence, you can freely edit the map in real time in any way you desire.

No way is this true. I refuse to believe that many people play both sides considering how hilariously one sided most threads are in this place.
How are those things related, though?
If firefighters focus their efforts on areas with a higher propensity for fires, do you also refuse to believe that they don't, in fact, all live in those areas?

It depends on different things too imo. I don't consider smacking and teabagging offensive, which changes things considerably. I guess I have been yelled at by other survivors a few times, but I've also had killer pull the EZ EZ thing on me and had one Trickster screaming at me because he couldn't find the corner I hid in after he slugged me lol
It's all anecdotal at the end of the day is what I was getting at more or less.
Even just taking the chat into account, I've seen far more survivor toxicity than killer toxicity, in a manner that is disproportionate to the ratio of survivors and killers.
You're right, it is anecdotal. This is my anecdote.

Sure, it's not the survivors fault, it's the design of the game.
So wanting the way hatches/keys function to be changed isn't unreasonable.
Of course, 100% agreed. I myself think that, at the very least, keys should not spawn in chests.

It can be hard to find survivors that don't want to be found. It's not the OP's fault the survivors chickened out of their deserved loss.
When given the option, most people will try to win. It's not the survivors' fault that they wanted to escape, that's literally the point of the role.
-
Keys should not be found in chests. That's one I think is definitely needed. I'm not sure what else to do, though.

You are right that there are performance issues on consoles, but don't mistake a fast connection for a good connection. My BF has a connection that, in theory, is faster than the average connection in most countries, yet it's highly unstable and ends up being a POS.

Would really like if the attack worked like it looks like it should.
Imagine a whip being used. The person pulls back their arm, then uses the whip forward. If the whip just moves up and down (not sideways), what is the rough shape of the volume the whip crossed in front of the person? Answer: A thin rectangular prism.

I'm pretty sure Adblock Plus was introduced to remove the ability to quote a user on the Dead by Daylight Forums, a discussion board for the hit asymmetrical multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught and killed.
Fairly certain at least.
