also you wanna talk about efficient specs, the game should be able to recognize when someone leaves the game manually versus losing connection. In Mobile they implemented bots for that, this aint mobile but it sure proves somethin can be done
The game probably can recognize that, but you'd still have the penalties. Bots are a different matter.

you know you can disconnect with an Ethernet cable too?
Unfortunately, yes. However, it is still far more stable than wi-fi.
Listen, I'm just giving you advice on how you can have a more stable connection. The devs aren't going to lift the penalty for people who try to play with an unstable connection any more than they're gonna lift the penalty for people who DC because of "camping".

It looks like limit was also increased. I got awarded when I had about 700k but then I accidently gain up to 1 050 000 maximum.
I don't think that's it. It's probably that you can temporarily surpass the limit, but you won't gain any more BP if you're over. I could've sworn they'd talked about implementing something like that.
-
It shouldn't since cages aren't hooks.

That's why I like MYC on fast killers like my Nurse or Hag. It encourages you to go after the person who made the save. This spreads out the dmg and slows the game down. Sadly it doesn't work too well on slower killers. Then there's the chance 2 people went to make the save. They are double healing at the hook and you have to guess who is exposed.
In my experience, it doesn't matter if the killer is fast or slow unless they can be there instantly, like the Hag, because the unhooker will be gone by the time you get there.

no ######### sherlock but im not the only one who uses wi fi in this game and there's other factors that go into play than "MaKiNg sUrE I hAVe GoOd iNtErNeT"
Then you should check those factors. Bottom line, it's your responsibility to make sure your specs are sufficient to play the game. I already advised you to get an ethernet cable, which should help a lot.

Do whatever helps you complete your objective. The survivors justify everything when it comes to their objective and they should learn to accept "I'd do the same thing in their position"
I had a match on the new map. I couldnt find anyone except an Ace. I downed him and left. I still couldn't find anyone so I went back to his hook after he was saved. I couldnt see the trail of who saved him so I followed his blood. There was no one else to chase. I hooked him again and the same thing happened. In the end game chat I didn't apologize for what I did to him but I did explain I only went after him because I couldn't find anyone else.
This is exactly why I stopped using MYC. If it showed the the unhooker's aura or something, it might be worth running. As it is, I was running back to the hook, which takes up about a quarter of the timer, and trying to find someone who's healthy and could be hiding anywhere vs. someone bleeding and moaning.

fine but dc'ing through something that's out of my control and then getting told it's "fair" cuz other people are inconvenienced is moronic.
Not really, no. If you know your connection is unstable beforehand (which you explicitly said you did), it's your responsibility and within your control not to play online multiplayer games that your connection can't handle. This is like buying a game for Windows 10 when you only have Windows 7 and then complaining that it doesn't work on your PC. Stable internet connections are a requirement for online gaming, period.

I cannot upvote this enough.

right, because if the tables were turned you'd say the same. stfu
I certainly would. When I'm playing an online multiplayer game with my BF and his connection becomes unstable, we stop playing together because it's ruining everyone else's game.
-
"GT history"?
Yes, the bans escalate, but the penalty resets after a while with no DCs (not sure how long).
-
Because it's effective at killing a single survivor, which makes it "not fun" for that survivor (in the sense that losing isn't fun, especially when your opponent constantly presses the advantage and you're either unwilling or unable to adapt). Regardless, it's not against the rules, so go ahead and do it. Maybe that survivor will learn to play more stealthily, but I doubt it.
-
Sorry, but COVID-19 is not the reason you have bad wi-fi. The virus, despite what some people say, has nothing to do with electromagnetic waves like wi-fi or 5G. You'd have bad wi-fi regardless. I recommend you get an ethernet cable, that should solve your problem.
-
I can't even see what's going on there, you must've uploaded thumbnails instead of the full-sized images. However, if and when you fix that, you should know that the forum has a strict "no name and shame" policy, meaning you'll have to censor the names of the players.

I guess the way I would see it, I'd say that EVERYONE is holding the game hostage in a situation like this (except the one person who is trapped). Neither Killer nor Survivor are contributing toward ending the game, and both sides are collectively contributing to ensuring that the trapped Survivor can do nothing except DC.
Yes, everyone is holding the game hostage, but as I mention in my last point, because the killer initiated it, the survivors' actions could be argued to be strategic in nature, and thus excusable.
-
Because everyone's playing killer. Same reason why survivor queues were long before, everyone was playing survivor.

The hallways on the new maps are not what I consider tight. When I say tight I am talking like doorways, the portions of jungle gyms where you can almost touch both sides running through, etc. Those are where you want to go for guaranteed power hits. Missing it is punishing and it should be.
The cages don't dispel torment so you can literally place a string of torment in front of a cage and he becomes facecamp bubba levels of able to camp. All of that combined with his strong chase ability, time saving potential, easy ability to tunnel mori, and added tracking / zoning from the torment makes him the 3rd best killer in the game in my opinion. Right behind nurse and spirit. And pretty much every rank 1 killer main I have watched play him agrees he is around that kind of level. If you can't see the potential of damaging people straight through walls and ignoring the best survivors perks in the game idk what to tell you.
Arguably that extreme restriction makes his ranged attack fairly pointless, but OK, I concede that there are tighter hallways than the ones on Silent Hill.
I thought you meant that being sent to a cage is what didn't dispel Torment. Torment is the status effect, you're talking about the Rites of Judgement/trenches. If an Executioner wastes time traversing the entire map just to tunnel, that's on him. Rush those gens and make him regret it.

Wouldnt they be holding the game hostage if tgey wont do gens?
It's a bit of a grey area, but this is how I see it:
- The survivors refusing to repair gens are holding the game hostage.
- The killer blocking the other survivor is holding the game hostage.
- The survivor being blocked is not holding the game hostage; they are being held hostage.
- The killer can hit and hook the survivor they are holding hostage and progress the game state.
- Since the killer is the one who started holding someone hostage, the survivors' actions could be argued as being part of a strategy to prevent the activation of NOED, BW, Rancor, etc..
Keep in mind that, again, this is how I see it. I'm just giving my opinion.

That doesn't make a ton of sense. Why aren't the other Survivors doing anything?
My guess is, to force the killer's hand. If they don't do anything, the killer is holding the game hostage, so the killer is forced to act against his own best interests.

I'd say trying to hit people with it in the wide open is significantly harder than trying to get them at a loop. And if they are not at a loop you don't really need to use it anyways. It will always be safer and faster to hit them with an M1. At most loops there are tight corridors or hallways that can make it almost impossible to avoid. Predicting a survivors location behind a wall also makes it incredibly hard to avoid.
It's not like every other killer because you are doing it from range. And at the same time he is 115% instead of 110% like deathslinger / huntress.
Add-in how super cheesy he can play with his BT/DS ignoring cages (not to mention for some reason cages don't dispel torment like hooks do, so you can pretty much force torment at them with impunity) and you have one of the best killers in the game currently. It's almost impossible to avoid torment if you want to do any sort of looping instead of just holding W against him. Pretty much every rank 1 killer I have watched so far is placing him top 3 / top 5.
You saying he is bad because people can avoid point blank attacks is like saying nurse / huntress / billy are bad because you can also juke their point blank attacks.
Did you miss the part where I said I was in a tight hallway? That's not like being out in the middle of the cornfields. I was not out in the open at all.
If the cages don't dispel torment and the hooks do, that's a bug. It should work the other way around.
I'm saying he's bad because he is. The time he saves getting survivors Tormented is not worth countering hook-related perks. His ranged attack is also just bad, unless they buffed it since the PTB...

He can't be serious.
That's why there's no fixed number, to prevent people from abusing the system on both sides.

I agree that it should be removed if you're hooked. If you opt out of using it on the first hook for any reason, that shouldn't earn you a freebie for the next. The choice to hook or cage should only last for one instance. After that, if you want the option again it should be earned.

Freddy's dream state.
Can't believe I forgot Freddy. I guess it's a mental block because of how annoying he is.
With that precedent in mind, I still think it's OK. It allows for more strategic play from PH - maybe a hook will be better than a cage, depending on your perks, the game state, where you are on the map, etc..
-
It'll be every day until the 23rd, IIRC.

No, it's LMB RMB, but yes you need the Silent hill DLC
A friend of mine said it was RMB LMB and confirmed it by actually doing it. Maybe the person you heard it from swapped those buttons?
-
It's RMB LMB and you also need to have bought the DLC.
-
I think it's consistent. Madness isn't removed when you're hooked either. In fact, there's no killer-specific effect that gets removed upon being hooked, to the best of my knowledge.
-
Yeah, that's a typical programming mistake. See, if you ask a computer to display the number "1" and "1,5" but ask it for the first digit, it will output "1" both times, because computers don't get the concept of "rounding". To them, any number between "1" and "1,999..." is "1", end of story. Mistakes like this are common in DbD; for example, in those 5 seconds you're locked out of matchmaking when you close a lobby. The "0" actually means "the time remaining is less than one second".

How would Susie know that the doll is bad before buying it if she can't play with it to try?

Kinda hard to play more if games takes longer to find. My other friend got to rank 17 when the rank reset happened the week before this so iam unsure about what you mean with you cant derank below 15
I meant you can't derank outside rank reset, obviously. You can't lose pips while playing below rank 15.
Your friend who's rank 20 should've played more on the day of rank reset and reached rank 15, at least. He's gonna have a hard time finding trials now, especially with a lot of people like him (who never play killer) all wanting to try Pyramid Head. On the other hand, if he waits too long, it may be impossible to get a killer trial before the next rank reset roughly one month from now.
-
Because it's not possible to derank below 15, which most people have probably gone past by now. In short, your friend needs to play killer more often to avoid this.
-
There are some words in there, yes, but it's mostly gibberish.

yep can confirm
Portugues to english in google translate is horrible
bad example but:
"I miss you"
Google translate: "Eu sinto sua falta"
Proper translation: "Eu tenho saudades tuas"
The issue there being that "saudade" is untranslatable. It's a word that often pops up in "Words that cannot be translated to other languages" lists.

Thats the main problem, Brazilians don't speak Portuguese correctly, you going to see mistakes like, instead of but, it will be Plus, also our main ability is to use slangs and abbreviations in everything. And to be honest, Portuguese to English translation is terrible, I only search one word at the time so I can know what it is trying to say
I'm aware that Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese are different. However, 99% of all websites that have Portuguese as an option always favor Brazilian Portuguese over European Portuguese, including Google. Furthermore, the particular example you gave is about speech, not writing, at least from what I've seen and heard from both Portuguese and Brazilian people.
Finally, you can just choose not to use slang and abbreviations if you're trying to communicate clearly. That's entirely up to you.
-
I'm fairly certain they read that section, yes. It'd be silly to have it otherwise if they couldn't even moderate it.
If memory serves you speak Portuguese, right? In my experience, Google Translate is fairly OK at translating from Portuguese to English and vice-versa, as long as no abbreviations or slang terms are used.
-
There is no fixed number. If you don't want to be accused of holding the game hostage, my advice is to not trap survivors in the corner.
-
When in doubt, report. Let the mods figure it out. It does look like griefing.

I don't see why you would need to use the power there, M1 would be better. I have only been using it at loops, or when someone is approaching a pallet or a vault in order to threaten a hit. It's pretty much impossible to loop him without becoming tormented. He could be the best tunneling character in the game. He can also snowball extremely hard, since he can be running chase-to-chase with IF but also sending people to cages at the same time instead of having to slug.
Similar to how nurse and huntress have low winrates statistically but good players still dominate with them; I feel like a really good PH will be on par with any of the top tier killers.
You're missing the point. I was able to dodge it in a hallway which has the same width as an arbitrary loop. So, sure, you could hit a survivor while they're locked in an animation, just like every other killer. On the other hand, if they're running, you won't be able to hit them at all. At least the Trapper's power, for example, can get people who're running.
