When I'm killing I never camp, patrol, or tunnel. I have fun, and I'm sure the survivors do too. I also get 50k+ Bloodpoints and Pip each match, even if I dont kill anyone. It's fun going around whackin' and hookin' plebs, lol.

When I'm surviving I never loop, work on gens, or bring flashlights. I die every match and have fun doing it, and I'm sure the killers do too. I wish more survivors were like me...

  • I had this issue with the Nurse earlier, right after the new cosmetic content came out. I held the power button down for ~10 seconds (on Xbox) to do a hard reset. Worked fine after that (so far).

What should I do if I've found a camping, tunneling, and/or patrolling killer in the game? In every single match I play, my friend and I almost always find a camper, tunneler, and/or patroller.

You could message the killer and tell them to stick their nose in the corner of the map and stay there until you have both exit gates opened.

  • Upon reading the title I thought you had an idea for an item that lets survivors vault faster.

  • What does the method of voice communication have to do with survivors telling the killer where I'm hiding while they spectate me?

you may only get 2 hooks in the basement all game if any at all..

That's why I think that regular hooks should give 1 stack of 25% bonus BP and basement hooks give 2 stacks.

  • So you're saying that while BBQ is useful at persuading killers not to camp, they won't bother even equipping it in the first place if it doesn't also have the bonus BP? I see.

  • If I have BBQ equipped, I am not discouraged from camping because of the BP Bonus token (I already got the token before I could possibly camp); instead, I am encouraged not to camp because I see auras elsewhere so I can save time patrolling the wrong gens. BBQ would still have the aura reading and will still encourage not camping if the BP bonus is shifted to Monstrous Shrine.

Currently, if the killer wants to see my aura and have better map awareness, I'm vulnerable as a survivor if I don't hide behind a gen or get close to the hook beforehand because of BBQ; if the killer just wants bonus Bloodpoints, I'm vulnerable as a survivor if I don't hide behind a gen or get close to the hook beforehand because of BBQ. With the change, if the killer just wants bonus Bloodpoints then I'm not as vulnerable as a survivor, and their hunger is satiated faster if they can please the Entity by hooking in the basement.

  • I definitely feel it when asleep.

I wish I could record gameplay of normal repair progression / skill check rate to that of Ruin and being asleep, and mark on the repair bar when a skill check popped up.

  • I am in agreement. I think BBQ is powerful, but I run it myself for the BP bonus.

I would run Monstrous Shrine instead if I still got 25% bonus Bloodpoints for each hook regardless of hook location.

I wouldn't run it if I had to get basement hooks for the bonus because I would also have to equip Iron Grasp and Agitation.

That said, if I run We're Gonna Live Forever then I usually have to equip Borrowed Time and Self Care as well.

Edit: Maybe there's a balance, where you get 1 token of BP bonus for a standard hook and 2 tokens for a basment hook (cap remaining at 4). This way, if you hook two different survivors in the basement then you've gotten 4 stacks, or if you hook one survivor in the basement and two other survivors elsewhere then you still have 4 stacks.

  • Another handy tip: once the match starts and your obsession is revealed, pause the game to match the name of the obsession to the survivor they are playing. This is especially helpful if you're playing as Wraith or Nightmare, as it saves you the trouble of decloaking or putting them to sleep just to find out.

  • I quite like STBFL.

I also like to use We'll Make It so that if my obsession unhooks then I have a chance to 1-shot them.

What's more annoying than the obsession rushing gens is the obsession body-blocking hooks.

  • The balance they are aiming for? The game needs to be 4x more frustrating for the killer so that players are more likely to play survivor to keep the queues balanced.

  • @Envees said:
If you are constantly getting body blocked then you must learn to deal with this. Equip that perk, what is it called, unrelenting, if you are that worried about not being able to smack enough out of your way.

Unrelenting only reduces the cool down of missed attacks.

  • Agreed. Assuming it won't be pushed today means you'll be pleasantly surprised if it does, but not bummed out if it doesn't.

So, No-Mither is a-near guarantee for a killer tunnel. They will never slug someone down and leave them.

I used a Sabo Jake build (Sabo, Boil Over, No Mither, Resilience) to knock out several hooks in one area temporarily. The killer comes over, downs me, picks me up, and carries me a long way before I wiggle free. I run back to that area and then the kiler just slugs me and runs off while I get back on my feet.

I wish Resilience also affected Recovery speed.

Self heal while in a chase is the only thing about it being nerfed.

So I want to know how do you counter survivors body blocking hooks?

I play the Nurse on XB1 with Lightborn, Iron Grasp, Agitation, and Hangman's Trick. I call it my Over-the-Counter Nurse.

I might not be able to track stealthy survivors, or BBQ my way across the map to where I need to be, but IF I do find and down a survivor Decisive Strike is the only thing stopping me from hooking them. Plus I get free hits on flashlight heroes.

  • The patch notes said that they take the number of tiles and divide by three to determine the number of hooks in a map. Do the basement hooks count as 0, 1, or 4, in this regard?

If there are 30 tiles and therefore 10 hooks, are there 6 hooks + the basement, 9 hooks + the basement, or 10 hooks + the basement?

  • @theArashi said:
This is balance feedback how exactly?

It was an insta-saw Billy. He was already chasing me 5 seconds into the match.

  • As long as a totem can spawn on the outcropping of a hill tile (the lighthouse totem), the totem locations are broken.

  • @Glebu said:
Survivors got the ability to unhook from all directions
Why cant killers hook from all directions

Why can't killers hook if a survivor is behind them?

If a survivor is crawling on the ground below a pallet, that pallet pushes them aside when it's dropped, yet a 7-foot killer is treated like cardboard, and cannot push the survivor aside to hook.

  • Sucks we don't get points for being good at the hide-and-seek game; only for the cat-and-mouse game

  • I like making the killer extra tipsy with Boil Over.

One time, I even wiggled free! The killer caught me right after.

    Useful perk (sarcasm)

I still don't think it's entirely fair or needed, usually if you have a three gen endgame like that it's because the killer played well or the survivors made mistakes. But it's not outrageously unfair.

It turns into a stalemate. The remaining survivors either wait for the others to die off so they can get the hatch, or they get bored and let the killer catch them repairing.

If I'm aware of gens that are close together, but my team isn't, then there's only so much I can do; especially if my team keeps getting hooked near these gens, allowing the killer to easily patrol them. Even if I had the buffed version of Deja Vu equipped which lets me see the three most closely-clustered gens, I'm still at the mercy of my team's choices and the killer's map control.

Would it be more fair if the swapped gen is chosen at random instead of being the furthest one away?

  • @TheXenoborg said:
Hope you know how to count. Count till 4 and hide somewhere else. Use the aura reading to outsmart the killer, if that's remotely possible for you.

Oh... I thought it was 5 seconds for some reason. Been waiting too long to move this whole time.

  • The survivor with this perk equipped still has to get to a generator while the killer's patrolling them, and the killer will be notified when the generator's instantly finished, so it's still risky to pull off.

  • Or, more simply, disable the locker interaction when someone's hiding in it; and disable emotes too.

Is it just me or are other players from PS4 getting bad frame drops after the 2.0 update?

Hmm, PC complained about this in the forums when 2.0 released. Then Xbox complained about this when 2.0 released...

I think it's just you, bud.

  • "How does The Entity celebrate the 4th of July?"

Not with Chinese Fire Crackers, unforunately...

A single perk to counter the main part of a killer kit?

    Urban Evasion bypasses Hag's kit;
    Small Game helps against Trapper's kit;
    Self Care craps on Freddy's kit;
Premonition dodges the Pig's and the Wraith's kit...

That, and survivors don't know which killer they'll be up against. They can't equip every counter perk.

  • I thought that the Calm Spirit buff did prevent the visual notification that comes with the madness tier up.

I thought that Horvath explained in last week's stream that the Doctor will still see the white fuzzy aura around the survivor's name-portrait in the lower left and that's it.

  • No, I want a concede option, for both survivor and killer. If I know nothing's going to come of this match and I want to get into the next one, it's not that simple.

As killer, I can stand idle, but the survivors won't leave after finishing gens; they come by to troll you and take the game hostage.

As survivor, I can run to the killer, but they can just slug me and continue looking for the others.

Either way, I'm stuck waiting 8 minutes to get into the next match.

  • My point, really, is that there are two ways to punish failed skill checks. The exact numbers are arbitrary and adjustable.

  • It would be a deterrent. If you mess up, move on to another gen.

  • Instead of regressing the gens further with missed skill checks, increase the duration before the gen can be worked on again (10-15 seconds)

  • 4th of July celebrates the United States' independence from England...

If you, as a killer, want to mirror that then let every survivor escape to upset the Entity.
We'll call it the Boston Teabag Party!

Equip BBQ & Chili and hook everyone once before letting them escape!

Nothing is going to stop people from partying up if they want to.

Nothing is going to stop a human being from dying, so why should hospitals and doctors exist too, right?

  • What they should do is implement a perk rating system, as someone on the forums has suggested.

Perks are given a value of 1 to 5. The top 20% of the most-used perks get a score of 5; the next 20% get a score of 4; and so on. Survivors and Killers get 10 points worth of perks.

This system would allow the balancing of loadouts; it would help balance SWF by removing more points from each member's loadout capacity the more members in the SWF group there are; and survivors can be more unique by having their teachable perks cost one less point to equip for themself.

For example, Self Care would cost 5 points to equip, but would only cost 4 for Claudette.

  • "New Sprint Burst nerf is an absolute joke"

Chasing survivors in a circle for several minutes is a joke, yet it's been a "feature" of the game for a long time

  • Prediction: the only thing that changes is that survivors heal up using Self Care and save Med Kits for the heal-and-dash. Nothing really changes...

  • If a survivor didn't escape that means they were mori'd or sacrificed. They should sit around for the rest of the match just so the killer can see their gg at the end instead of getting into the next match for more points, otherwise they're disrespectful to the killer? Lol...

    Xbox Nurse main here.
I completely agree with you. @not_Queen, what is your opinion on this?

She doesn't play on console. How would her opinion have weight?

  • Agreed. If not reverting the auto-aim, then at least one of the other aspects that were changed.

No more auto-aim; no more blink-lunge; the survivors see you get to your blink destination before you do; it's all too much when combined together. Now add in the FPS issue with the latest update...

I almost regret spending auric cells on her cosmetics.

  • Two kills per match? I'm barely getting two hooks per match, and I get "reported" each time. Great game!

Killers suffers the worst when Infinite were in, this is nothing compared to that

The world used to be a ball of molten; today's problems are nothing compared to that, so why try to solve them, right?

  • If the killer doesn't know how to play optimally, the survivors are no longer scared by the killer; if the survivors feel safer playing with their friends (SWF), they are no longer scared of the killer. Survivors who aren't afraid feel free to dance around the killer and make the killer feel powerless. The killer gets frustrated and takes that into the next match, doing whatever it takes to secure sacrifices. The survivors in that match don't like if the killer plays scummy, so they do whatever it takes to counter it.

TLDR; Scummy tactics from one side brings out scummy tactics from the other side, and mostly stems from survivors not being scared in a horror game.
