This is probably the least fun I"ve had playing the game. Just imagine playing a 3 gen zoning killer with at least 3 gen regression perks that will never leave their 3/4 gen area or commit to chase. Now imagine that is what the game will be for a week or two. I just hope she goes the way of the Twins because wow, what a crappy, boring game this is right now.

Imagine playing her without... Enjoy free teabags at the exit.

The 3-gen is boring and I'm trying other things and losing.

  • Can we just get rid of her drones altogetehr and give her a 5th perk slot..??

I was doing alright with gen slowdown perks, but as soon as I branch out to put together a chase build, I'm just a perk slot short and getting 0 kills.

Map repeat prevention is currently off since the updated maps have an increased chance to appear. It'll be enabled next week.

I figured that featured maps would simply be whitelisted out of the map repreat prevention system.

But I'm not a programmer for BHVR and can easily throw the word "simply" around.

  • Oh yeah, forgot about the new maps...

    I've been on:

    • Pale Rose
    • Badham Preschool
    • Ironworks of Misery
    • Borgo
    • Gas Heaven

I've been unlucky with the new maps

You mean the perk that activates once per game, that needs you to get 4 hooks on all survivors without all the gens popping, that blocks gens for a whole 60 seconds while survivors reset and reboon?

Yeah, how could we miss that. Oh dear no, please don't run that perk against me.

    40 seconds... 😥

  • Why don't they move the box to a new spot if the cenobite's close to it for 30 seconds without picking it up?

They did it with Executioner's cages

  • This change makes sense for Self Care, a perk that already gives the killer incredible value; Leverage doesn't need to punish the survivor more.

This change would also make sense if Boon: Circle of Healing only allowed the perk user to self-heal in the radius. Other injured survivors would only have their aura revealed to all the other survivors while in its radius.

  • In that case, I hope no one finds out that Grim Embrace is a perk that exists in DbD...

  • Who walks more than 19m away from a gen with Dragon's Grip applied to it?

  • I would like my glowing prestige cosmetics from Steam on Xbox. I would have a reason to play Jake again.

  • I will say I don't like her sound design. Fidgeting ASMR. 2-second loop for chase music.

People hate going against hag. And she isn't popular with killers either, she is boring for many killer players

I get a lot of pushback everytime I suggest that she not be able to trap hooks.

I think camping hooks is worse than camping gens, but one makes the game end faster while one draws it out for everyone. 🤷‍♂️

  • @Spectralfx That's the point I was trying to make. The devs said that the endgame countdown exists to prevent the survivors from taking the game hostage, but it only changes how they take the game hostage (not doing the last gen). "/s" means end of sarcasm, implying that I was being sarcastic about everything before it.

We've been asking for a concede option for years, but according to the community, "you chose to look for match, you need to play out the whole match." You're stuck there as their bloodpoint pinata until the survivors are done with you, and then they just might let you leave.

So. Just go afk, and the match will last at most an hour before the server kills all the survivors and ends the match.

  • And let killers skip the endgame. An afk husk stays behind, the killer gets no more points, and is taken to the results screen to get into the next match faster.

  • @wydyadoit Everyone* runs exhaustion perks though. Vigil helps them recharge while they're being healed.

I needed every little treat I can get to lure survivors to me for help. Didn't work.

    (* Almost everyone)

  • Played 5 matches when it released and dropped it. Wish I could get a refund. Oh well.

  • The Entity feeds on hope, from both sides.

The survivors hope to escape. The killers hope to sacrifice.

Survivors could argue for basekit Fast Track to help them with gens each time someone's hooked because, lore-wise, the Entity loves to see the killer struggling.

If the Entity gave the killer a free win on a platter, the killer doesn't have to hope to win; they just show up and win; the Entity has nothing to feed off of.

  • Just interact with the Exit Gate Switch to start the Endgame Countdown. The devs added that so the survivors cannot take the game hostage... /s

Wait for them to give killers a concede option. Meanwhile, just go afk until the match is forcefully ended by the server after an hour (or is it 30 mins now?)

lol. do you have the survivor perks from the ring pack? one of them lets injured survivors see your aura. it might make them come to you instead of the boon totem. it's basically a reverse empathy.

Yes, and I tried it... (See this comment below)

"idfk where anyone is but I need a heal now"

I tried a build that turned me into Circle of Healing. Empathic Connection so injured survivors could see me. Botany Knowledge for heal speed. Bite the Bullet for stealth. Vigil to help them recover from exhaustion (because what else does that perk do??)

What happens? Injured Leon kites the killer into me (successfully). I manage to lose the killer with a god pallet on The Game map, and hop back on my gen. Leon's still injured for minutes on end, despite others being chased and he can see my aura working safely on a gen.

Survivors using Empathic Connection to get healed up? Nah...

Survivors using Empathic Connection to ditch the killer on someone else? Heck yeah!

  • Wraith makes the survivor hold his bell and then he rings it, turning the survivor invisible.

Then he goes ham and dices them to pieces brutally.

Since the survivor's invisible the devs don't have any gore to censor.

  • I almost chose Bait (but not by choice; it's just what the randoms on my team use me as).

Lately I'm more of a background player or Lone Wolf, since Circle of Healing took my jerb...

  • My average is higher because I don't always give it my all when facing him. As soon as I hear the ding of the box at the start, I've already mentally lost.

Ormond is weirdly okay for Trapper because of the dense ground texture which make traps harder to see, even if the grass is not much.

Last week I had Coal tower 4 out of 6 matches. Really hate it.

Coal Tower feels rough when I play as Trapper. Eyes always on you, unless you're way off in the corner trapping a spot no one will go to.

  • Hag camping hooks with her power? - It's fine. It's balanced. Leave it. The Hag has nothing else in her kit. Don't prevent her from trapping hooks!

Killers using their powers to camp gens? - No! Boring. Remove it from the game. zzZzzZ...

Really? Because of all my unhooks, 99% of them were counted as "safe"

The only time when it wasn't when was the survivor was standing still, and this only happened once to me

"Safe" was never adjusted for the basekit Borrowed Time.

A Safe Unhook used to be awarded 15 seconds after unhooking a survivor, but that survivor was vulnerable for those 15 seconds.

Now, with 10 seconds of basekit protection, the survivor is only vulnerable for 5 of those 15 seconds. The 'Safe Unhook' score event should have been bumped to 25 seconds and just wasn't. There would have been a lot less Safe Unhooks if it were.

  • This could be a new game mode, as well

What were you playing before DBD? Since you have been there for 12 years and DBD is about to have it's 7 year anniversary, what game did it replace?

It feels like DbD only came out recently, and Resident Evil feels like forever ago.

Yet, DbD is already 1/4 the age of Resident Evil... 👀

  • Yes!

Then I can finally get value from Territorial Imperative

  • @Emeal said:

wait so you want two endurance hits after unhook for the price of one perk slot.

That hardly seems fair and balanced.

Don't tunnel. That seems fair and balanced.

    "But what about the endgame..??"

Yeah? And what about the killer having 1 kill at 5 gens remaining? The survivors lose. If you have multiple survivors alive at endgame, maybe you aren't meant to 4k so easily.

  • @RainehDaze said:

You. Are. Not. Meant. To. Escape. Wiggles.

Wiggling is to stop the Killer literally carrying you forever. that is it.

Boil Over is a terrible perk that encourages horrible gameplay from everyone, and is annoying when someone just sticks it in because they have some delusional ######### idea that it helps in isolation, and should be deleted from the game with a vengeance.

Iron Grasp lets the Killer carry you like eight metres more. I've done the maths. Agitation is more effective in isolation for more distance (faster movement) and more practical (faster movement), and it's still only 10m-ish.

so combining the two means the killer can carry an extra tile-and-a-half??

    That's balanced... /s

I usually take a brown medkit with me, sometimes with add-ons - usually without. It's the "idfk where anyone is but I need a heal now to xyz" - this situation usually occurs in late to endgame or if a killer has a back-to-hook-tendency and I and whoever unhooked me need to split up asap.

Now, when the right time to use the medkit is depends very much on the situation. - But it's definitely not the right time when the only reason to use it is "because you have it". That aside: regardless of how the heal occurs there are situations where healing is not the way to go in general. Except if you just want to farm benelovent points - which is fair enough, I guess but I don't blame anyone for not partaking.

She isn't a jack of anything either. She has no mobility and her lethality is basically nonexistent. She is a gen-camping one-trick pony.

    She's a jack of that -o pose 😉

I don't really have anything to add to this other than I feel the exact same way and it's really annoying being followed for heals when I can heal myself in 8 seconds and the other person can just go do a gen.

Yeah if I have a medkit, I’d always rather other peoples hands be on gens. Same when someone brings Boon: CoH. We have a boon totem right there for you to use to heal up but you want me to stop doing this gen to heal you? I don’t get it.

    Cries in Autodidact tokens...

  • I need my medkit for when there are no survivors left to heal me and I want to be healthy looking for hatch

Use Bite the Bullet's effect and reduce the penalty for missed skillchecks to 1%

Don't know if you've noticed, but people on here rarely post in the right subsection.

Practically everything just gets lumped into General Discussions and ends up being moved by the mods.

Everyone hangs out / monitors general discussions. The other channels are where threads go to die.

I wish she was a bit taller, striking and imposing to match the strut...or had an evil but loveable laugh, like Trickster...or had an exciting TR...or a provocative Mori...or anything that matched her design at all. She's clearly aimed at pleasing a certain demographic and even then, at least for me as part of that demograchic, she's a flopping big time.

As part of a "certain demographic," it's a weclome change after all the disabled jiggle physics and shirtless male cosmetics

  • They got rid of Pig afk'ing at boxes.

Devour Demo's tough for survivors to deal with / or ignore.

But also Pinhead sitting on the cube with Ruin, Face the Darkness, Sloppy, etc. making gens taking extremely long (IF you cleanse Ruin first) and making healing impossible.

Either stop the chains from interrupting actions (however, to balance this, the longer survivors wait to remove the chains, the longer the chains will take to remove), or move the cube to a new spot if the killer stays near it too long (like Executioner near cages).

  • How about: if the hit that would put the survivor into the dying state is within the Knight's terror radius (or 32m, so it can't be cheesed with TR suppression perks), that survivor is instead put into deep wounds.

The guards keep their lethality, but not in scenarios where the survivor is forced into being hit by a pincer move.

  • I'm excited. This means the next meta-shakeup is only a month-and-a-half away.

  • Legion used to be lethal with his power. They removed that for years, and only brought it back recently, and under specific conditions (5th Frenzy hit).

  • I'll play M1 killers a lot, and actually enjoy the monotony of looping until the pallet's dropped, breaking, and doing it all over again at the next loop. It requires very little thinking and I can carry it out like a bot, on days where I feel like turning off my brain to just have fun.

What I don't like is survivors taking protection hits; especially for an uncatchable survivor who's never been hooked. This is why I enjoy playing Sadako. She can disappate and go through body-blockers. She also has mobility, even if not the best in the game. She has stealth, even if not the best in the game. She doesn't have lethality, despite her kit's description; unless you turn the game on its head, so I don't bother.

You could argue that survivors hopping off gens to take protection hits is a good thing, to which I agree, but I think 3 health states is already plenty for 1 survivor, they don't need more. Plus, the survivors will still try and bodyblock Sadako a lot of the time anyway. Not sure why. Just figured they haven't learned yet.

I’ve been maining Pig for a while actually, currently on a 94 win streak. Her lunge is generally speaking near worthless but her slow down from traps is very good and gives you time to play loops as an m1 killer. If you’re good at multitasking with macro game play you can also pressure the boxes. I get a head pop like 1/3 games and many of those I don’t would have more pops but they basically end up giving me a free down on them as they’re panicking to get it off from my pressuring. I like macro game play killers.

I do still think she’s bad and needs a lot of improvements, specifically in her crouch/ambush/addons, but I do think she’s better than people think she is.

You get a head pop once every 3 games?

Guess the devs will be nerfing Pig soon.

Survivors are not supposed to be that easily removed from games. That's why Onryo's tape mechanic is so weak.

  • It would also mean that Nurse players don't have to give up an addon slot, or waste their Plaid Flannel addons, when a map is released/reworked to find the unblinkable spots.

  • @Crowman said:

Ultimately there's never been a benefit spreading hooks so the best play has always been to force an early survivor death.

And even if they did somehow benefit the killer for spreading hooks (something like Grim Embrace, for example), not all chases are equal. All it takes is 1 survivor to be uncatchable to get denied whatever reward they come up with.

Unless... part of the reward is a token system given for each hook and gives the killer faster Bloodlust gain, until any 1 survivor is sacrificed, and then all tokens are lost. (Beast of Prey re-work?)

Now, the killer can save the uncatchable survivor for last, go for the others (without tunneling them out of the game), and use the Bloodlust to catch that uncatchable survivor to get the final reward for having hooked each person once.

Because it takes time and resources. If they are working on that, they can't be working on other stuff.

I just think they should be working on other more important stuff.

They have bots. The game already knows these distances at all times.

The UX team just needs to slap a box on gens, with room in it for a number to be parsed and displayed for the killer to see.

Sbmm will gradually expand based on queue times. Survivor queues were probably long so these high MMR survivors were probably put into your lobby as the skill range expanded

It’s not fun but we can’t have 10+ minute queues like before as that will kill the game

I know this, which is why in my original post I said "I get it, SBMM can't always find someone at my rating quickly. In that case, match me with whoever, but give me a chance!"

With extra perks as a handicap for the disadvantaged team, the matchmaking stays quick, and the match is more balanced. Heck, let the devs choose which extra perks either role gets, so that obnoxious builds are not possible and the devs can fairly balance it. Then have these perks unlock 1 by 1 the bigger the skill gap is between the two teams.

(If they give up to 3 extra perks, then they only need to choose 6 perks to fill them with. 3 perks, plus 3 more just in case that player already has all 3 of the first perks equipped.)

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 61
