These are literally everything that we've been saying Wraith should have for the past 3 years so your suggestions aren't stupid. Also...
I wouldn't want yellow windstorm to be base kit. I want them to increase the speed that Wraith moves while cloaked, and windstorm also slows you down while uncloaking. I wouldn't also want that downside to windstorm. It should be between yellow and green move speed, and then windstorm gets reworked into something else.
Yeah, that was a mistake on my part - I meant only the movement speed, not the slowdown. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this!

Something about Shadow Dance here:
I feel like they should make it 20% increased at base (half of current Shadow Dance: White) and then have current SD:W increase it to 40% and SD:B increase it to 60%, like current, but the add-ons should also come with the extra effect of the buff remaining for an extra, oh I don't know, 3 seconds after an uncloak? Make them more viable.
This could be too strong at base-kit so that's why I said to stick it on the add-ons but I mean, ######### it stick it on base if you like.
Also, when talking about Windstorm I think it's important to note that you aren't putting on the decrease to movement speed when uncloaking and only the movement speed whilst cloaked- I know me and @Boss had a bit of a misunderstanding over that.
I do agree with your points though. Make him more viable and let me simp for him harder <3
On the topic of SD, that's actually a great idea. I know I've thought that before, my brain is just so ADD that I can only think about things for approximately 4 seconds before moving onto something else and completely forgetting that.
Yeah, again, my ADD brain ######### me over once again. If Windstorm - Mud became base, it wouldn't include the slowdown. At least in my fantasy idea for Wraith.
And as simping for Mr. Ojomo...
You have good taste.

@Uistreel said:
He definitely needs a more significant speed boost when cloaked. All the other things would be nice and could be possibly looked into, but a windstorm base should absolutely happen. Bone clapper base kit would be nice, but like you said, might be a bit much. Maybe make it only muffle un-cloaking but not re-cloaking?
Out of everything I listed, I want the Windstorm base the most. I feel like I'm forced to use at least some version of it, at least if I want to have any semblance of map pressure.
-
@DarKaron said:
I will note that they ALREADY made Windstorm and Shadow Dance basekit.
Really mediocre versions of those addons, but still.
That note aside, as a Wraith main starting out, I agree with all these buffs. Wraith has been neglected for far too long, and it's time he got his dues.
I know they made a slight Windstorm base - I think way back when Spirit was introduced? I legit think that's the last time they touched him aside from bug-fixes, but I've played Wraith alot and I haven't noticed any Shadow Dance at base. So it must be very, very slight, or they removed it for some reason. Or I'm just too stupid to notice.
But seriously, I think the last time they touched him was when Spirit was introduced. The bing bong boi just wants some love :(

This works heard similar ideas tossed around.
That doesn't surprise me. A few of these seem like common sense imo.

I feel at least most of these are at least halfway decent, aside from the 110 movement speed in night shroud. Why? Ghostie has nothing but his stealth ability - if you nerf that, he becomes much, much worse.

Poorly implemented how?!
Once upon a time these loops used to be impossible for killers to deal with.
Then they went too far and made them useless to survivors by putting an open door right next to the vaults.
Now ONE survivor gets ONE safe loop of these areas, unless the killer is foolish and ignores breaking the wall because 2 seconds is too long.
They never should have existed in the first place. When they were first removed, I'm pretty sure everyone thought they were good changes - because they were. Plenty of people who play this game for a living have pointed out how bad they are in their current design. Two seconds is a ton for a killer. Killer's times are four times worth as much a survivor's team, and 2 seconds is easily enough to get to another loop. In a game like this, where every single second counts, 2 seconds could easily mean a loss.
You're fine to have your opinion, but the simple fact of the matter is I'm just not gonna agree with you here. I, and plenty other people, think they are incredibly poorly implemented. They could have been interesting, but they're only used to introduce god loops again. More of them need to be like in Badham - where the killer shuts down a loop from the get go but also severely cuts down their own escapes in the building. Again, you can have your opinion - I don't care. I'm not gonna argue about this because it's clear we disagree.
-
Oh, jeez, I'm so, so sorry to hear that. Good luck, I hope you stay healthy!

God loops shouldn't exist in any form.
If they want breakable walls, put them in loops that are unsafe already. That way the killer can either break it, making the loop extremely unsafe later, maybe costing them the chase now. Or keep it, because the loop is tolerable without wasting time breaking it.
Like I said, I hate them and I agree - god loops shouldn't exist. It boggles my mind that they added them back, and continue to for the sake of who knows why, but the action is so tiny that I just don't see a point in complaining. I complained when they first started adding them into reworked maps, and it didn't do a thing. The Dev's clearly are pushing this, and when it comes to BHVR they barely ever change their minds.

or we could not have a god loop with a pre-dropped pallet to begin with. How about just remove the wall and no god loop at all since those are bad for the game and just make the killer either waste their time now or lose a chase later.
I despise breakable walls, and I think they're incredibly poorly implemented, but they're also incredibly easy to get rid of. I can't say I disagree with you, but if the Dev's are hellbent in having god loops in this game then I'd much rather them have a breakable wall.
-
As much as I hate breakable walls, this doesn't really prove much. Once you break the wall, that loop immediately becomes useless. Unless you're trying to loop a god loop, they are basically useless.

Then why isn't the testing done on the ptb? you know, Public TEST branch.... What is the PTB for if it isn't used for testing? Where is the QA team?
Not a single person would play a PTB surrounded only by Bloodlust changes. This way, they can gather data from every platform, and not just PC. Everyone is acting like they're completely removing Bloodlust. This is going to last for two days.
-
Nah, I really like Blight. I think he's great fun, to play and go against. When I see a good one, I don't feel screwed over I feel impressed.
And going up against a bad one (like me) is hilarious.

No, but shouldn't I get to keep what i brought into the match regardless of the matches outcome?
And it's not like toolkits are worth anything anymore and most killers know how to turn one degree left or right to evade a flashlight. So most Survs only use White Ward with a Key (= Mori). And as Franklins negates it, we usually just don't use WW.
It kinda ends in Killers most powerful Offerings is still Ebony Mory, followed by Black Ward. Survivors most powerful Offering is Bloody Party Streamer, which benefits all.
Because Franklin's is one perk that not a lot of people use, because most players know how to deal with all the items. It's not a common thing to see. Even if you do see it often, it's incredibly easy to find another with all the new chest perks or just picking the item back up. Most people that use it just use it to troll, and if they really don't wanna deal with a key they'll likely just tunnel the key user out of the game.
Mori's and Key's are being reworked, we know that. We don't know when but I've seen rumours of it being the next mid-chapter, but I don't know if that's true. Also, I'd say the map offerings or hatch offerings are much more powerful than the BPS. BPS are just for BP, maps and hatch offerings influence the game much more.

I've never fiddled with mouse sens and I felt just fine. However I didn't use killers that required flicking. It sucks your console took a crap. I've had that happen a few times and it's one of the reasons I converted to PC years ago.
Having played for 2 years you probably already know this but I suggest lvling up Bubba first for BBQ. It really helps cut down on the grind.
Yeah, definitely. One of the mistakes when I first played this game was making Bubba more or less one of the last licensed killers I got. Never again

You can use the killer tutorial and practice walking around, attacking the bots, lunging, moonwalking, etc. until you find the sensitivity you like.
Other than that just play some matches and you’ll pick it up as you go. Once you understand how to play the game, there isn’t a lot to it mechanically to be honest. And prepare to enjoy how much easier it is to counter 360s and play killers with ranged powers :D
Now I can finally play Huntress or Blight without having my PS4 ######### itself whenever a survivor runs through a piece of grass :D
-
A few perks, Freddy, and... I think that's it. I know Nemesis does, and I believe walking through PH's trails gives the Oblivious status effect.

I ######### know right!! I'm going to play Pyramid Head with NOED and tunnel everyone off the hook ASAP now to show BHVR that this isn't acceptible HONESTLY they're so biased!
Honestly, tunnelling as spirit with a mori is gonna be the only way killers are gonna be able to win anymore. I bet they're gonna go after Monstrous Shrine next. Now I'm gonna get bullied with Red Herring all game :(
-
This is outrageous. How can anyone say the Devs are killer sided at this point, needlessly taking away a meta perk like Beast of Prey, especially when meta survivor perks like Babysitter exist. Wow Devs. Wow. Survivor bias is just obvious at this point.
-
Well, now that we know the Dev's are looking at the previous chapter each mid-chapter, like they did with the Silent Hill chapter last mid-chapter (Jesus take a drink each time I say chapter) I think it's pretty inevitable it's going to be nerfed. For one, I think they'll remove the aura reading on Dull Totems, and maybe add a limit to each tier. Tier 1 - only one respawn, and thus on. Or just give it a cooldown, that'll probably work too. We won't know until it happens though.
Let's hope they also make Blood Favor not terrible.

Mainly referring to the classic slasher movies.
Then in the case of some, yeah. Nightmare on Elm Street is very well written in my opinion, along with Halloween, but I've never been a huge fan of F13, or Child's Play. I hold to my opinion that The Shining is a masterpiece though.

To be fair, wasn't the stilted dialogue and acting in Silent Hill 2 on purpose? The story was told less in what was being said and more how it was said. James sounded clumsy and fake because his entire quest was a self-induced delusion. Angela sounded childish and scared because she was never allowed to grow mentally. That sort of thing.
It was also supposed to invoke the Uncanny Valley, at least from what I understand.
-
I mean, not really, but I can respect your opinion. How old are we talkin' here? The Shining is nearly 4 decades old at this point, and that film is a masterpiece.
Citizen Kane is a fantastic character study, ans I think Halloween is genuinely more scary than most modern horror cinema, and both of those are much older than The Shining.
I like movies, sue me.

No way, spine chill counters Deathslinger, Pig and GhostFace much more than Wraith. Wraith can find people easier than these killers because of his fast movement speed (assuming windstorm because why would you play him without it) and they don't get as much of a headstart on you.
Fair enough. I can only speak from experience, I don't play much Slinger or Pig, and I've never had much trouble with it as Ghostie - but that's probably just luck.

It just occurs to me that they'd have to make it so that the killer's "Chase Camera" (or whatever little bubble of proximity and attention triggers a chase) could see the survivor through the door. (But not actually see them, lol)
Because say dwight just slams the door in your face..he just broke LOS...he just broke chase....SPEED BREAK THAT DOOOOOR!
(Also Huntress could get a Jack Torrance mask...or a Dog Costume mask...To go with the doors.)
I'd rather just have Jack Torrance. Imagine how cool his animations would be. Sadly, he's more or less just a guy. A guy that went insane due to a haunted hotel or isolation, but just a guy.
:(
-
Spine Chill is just a very, very good perk. There are plenty of reasons to use it. A good Wraith is going to hit & run regardless of Coxcombed Clapper, Silent Bell just makes it a bit easier. We're gonna have to agree to disagree here, I am always going to feel that nothing about Wraith is oppressive unless the player is very good. Wraith has plenty of counterplay, even with his Ultra Rares. Honestly in my opinion his purple add-ons are better.
Spirit has very, very little. Especially with pre-nerf Prayer Beads.
-
Not technically holding the game hostage, so I guess it's technically not bannable.
Still super ######### scummy tho

Yeah, once they'd break theyd be done. The idea was just to make a blocker that the survivors have to commit to, but also encourages them to take the risk to commit to them. Hence the screwy break times. Good for S if K has to break in chase, good for K if they find it out of chase.
Edited because my own joke went over my head.
I think it'd be a good change. Far better than the "here's a god loop, break this peasant killer"

Well, I've disconnected against a wraith 2 days ago bc of the silent bell. There are some addons that just make killers downright oppressive by removing notification-based counterplay (Hag Rusty Shackles, Spirit pre-nerf Prayer Beads, Wraith Coxcombed Clapper). It's not always possible to see well laid traps or work in the open to check for the incoming wraith.
I am far less inclined to avoid a game with Huntress Iri head bc I can at least try to dodge. Addons that just remove the killer's counterplay lead to incredibly one-sided games.
Gotta be honest, comparing Coxcombed Clapper to pre-nerf Prayer Beads is an oof.
Wraith is still an M1 killer after that, and unless he's also using Ghost, his terror radius immediately starts up. Coxcombed Clapper does nothing but put him on par with Ghostface's stealth ability. You can easily counter Coxcomb the same way you can counter Wraith in general - loop the hell out of him and heal. Pre-Nerf Prayer Beads was ten times worse.
Also, I'd honestly say Spine Chill counters him more than anyone else in the game, other than maybe Myers.
-
Jeez dude, these are way too complicated. I could barely understand them.
On a serious note, I feel like this is a step in the right direction but killers need to be able to shut them too - for the very few that shut down loops and don't create infinites. Maybe have a surv spend a good amount of time to break it themselves. Along with that, they should be one time use - killer (or survivor) breaks them, the wall is gone.
-
Wraith: Windstorm (any will do, but Blood works best) and All-Seeing Blood.
MYC
Haunted Grounds
Enduring or BBQ
PGTW
Probably my favorite build on Wraith.
-
I've had multiple people DC the second they get hit when I'm playing as Wraith.
People don't care about the other players.
-
I've been accused of cheating for body blocking with Windstorm Wraith, so... I just think a shocking amount of people don't know how this game works.
-
Honestly, this may be part of your build, but sloppy butcher is amazing on him.
-
Well, he is both Anit-Stealth and Anti-Loop. I personally don't find him that irritating, but I do understand how a lot of people despise how easy it is for a doctor to find you.
And people are always going to hate Anti-Loop killers.

Who spends whole minute without unhooking teammate?
Very efficient teams, or even Solo's. I'm not saying it's common, but DS makes a person invincible, Head On does not. You can work on Gens while DS is active, you are stuck in one place with Head On.
Head On is a meme perk
DS has been meta since it came out.

Ds works for 60 seconds not nearly two minutes two minutes are 120 seconds and if u manage to hook another person under those 60 secs that's just proves you're good killer or survivor is potato
A single hook state is 60 seconds, DS is 60 seconds. DS activates when the survivor is unhooked, so if a Survivor is unhooked just before the second hook state, and you get 59 second DSed, you get DSed by a person you haven't seen for nearly 2 minutes. 2 minutes is huge in game time. I know this because I've had it done to me multiple times.
-
I laugh when I'm hit by head on, and even more when they fail it.
I sigh in irritation when I get DSed nearly two minutes after I hook a survivor I wasn't tunnelling, even after hooking other people.

It is, yes. You lose all bloodlust when breaking a pallet, losing chase, or landing a hit.
-
A huge part of it, as Scott Jund mentioned in a video, is both sides hugely lack empathy for the other. Why should a survivor main care if the killer gets looped all game, or plays well but loses to a full team using DS/UB? They had fun, so "GGEZ baby killer"
Why would a killer main care if a Solo Q is hell, and some perks make it that much worse? Only "entitled survivor mains" cry about losing. They got a 4K, they has fun, they totally earned it. All Survivors are just "entitled". People just need more empathy, but with the anonymity of online games I don't see it happening. That's just my two cents though.
-
Well, we have Leatherface and Hillbilly, so two clowns are possible - at least in my opinion. So maybe Pennywise is possible eventually.
As for a Pennywise skin, or Pennywise like skin, it would be pretty cool, and I could definitely see it. A few of his skins are vaguely familiar to the 90's version, at least in terms of the outfit. But with how this community is, people would be pissy if they didn't get the actual Pennywise.
-
I'm pretty sure the only way their similar at all is they're both "spirits" of their home lands, and if I remember right Banshee's are a sign of death for whoever hears them. That might be wrong. Our Spirit, I think, is based of an onryō, which are just vengeful spirits.
I'm probably wrong on that, but that's what I understand.
