It's still not ok though it's in the report options in the after game summery, the wraith is pretty strong imo and doesn't need to block like that and shouldn't, no one should.
If the Wraith had blocked you in a corner, and never hit you - yes, that would be reportable. But simply using his invis to block you from getting to a pallet to get a hit is not toxic in the first place - and it's also very risky because Survivor's can still slip by if the Wraith didn't block enough, and if he's stunned in Invis it is a very lengthy stun. You can keep reporting, but it won't do anything. The dev's don't view tactical bodyblocking as toxic or bannable, and neither does most of the community.
"Wraith is pretty strong imo" I'm not gonna get in an argument about the killer that is arguably the most add-on dependent in the entire game.
Just... Don't report people for doing things that are a legitimate tactic, no matter how much you dislike the tactic. That's toxic in of itself.

Right so running to a pallet to use on the wraith while he is invis and he purposely gets in my way to block it is not toxic? Body blocking is reportable and what's acceptable to you doesn't mean it's not acceptable in general. He ignored a hit to block me then hit me, it's a scummy tactic.
That's... One of the few things Wraith can do. He's not that great in general, and using his speed to get to places first is one of the very few things Wraith can do during a chase. Body blocking isn't a reportable offense, otherwise Survivor's taking hits to make a survivor wiggle out would be reportable. What's the difference? Both cases have one side body blocking the other from their goal.
A survivor bodyblocking another survivor on purpose may be a reportable offense - it's called sandbagging, and that is a truly scummy thing. Another reportable case would be a killer blocking a survivor in a corner all game. Not a Wraith bodyblocking a pallet.
Whoever told you that bodyblocking is a reportable thing was wrong. It even says in the game that bodyblocking isn't a bannable offense.

Oh, I though you were being serious, my bad.
Nah, don't worry about. You're right, the Twin's are way too buggy for a release. That's all I care about. Legitimately, all I care about. If this game was just allowed more time and effort, I feel it'd be so much better.

"a little buggy", my dude have you seen the list I've made?
Victor alone has about 20 bugs, charlotte is sitting somewhere around the 18 - 20 mark.
You're right, I forgot to apply the sarcasm quotation marks.
Fixed.

@Iceyrawr said:
Not only is it terrible,
BBQ is also bugged right now, sometimes you don't get extra bloodpoints in this patch.
and of course there won't be any blood points compensation for that,
and majority of killers will lose more than a mil bps before they fix it.
Meanwhile, after losing so many with BBQ bugs,
the advent calendar event gives you less than 300k bps in the course of ONE MONTH,
aren't you thankful?
I am genuinely shocked about the tiny amount of BP we're getting. That's enough for two things in the later levels. Maybe not even. I'm really hoping that it's only that amount for this week.
-
If a survivor does it, sure - total dick move. Probably on accident though.
If a killer does that, it's a completely fair tactic. Why wouldn't they try to stop the pallet from being thrown? It's not scummy at all.
-
For the most part I agree. I've tripped up and made my own posts like this, but for the most part I don't care about The Twins. I think they're fine. A "little" buggy, but fine balance wise.
I just care about the state this patch was pushed in. It's not okay. I don't believe it's the Dev's fault, probably some higher-up or investor.
After that, yes, I mainly agree with everything here. The amount of contradictions (and hypocrisy) on this forum are outstanding, from both sides. Too many people on here treat the game like it's a war between the two different playerbases. It shouldn't be treated like that. I try to refrain from doing that, but I've slipped up, and I know that. Again, I don't care about balance for the most part. I just want them to take their time. As far as I know, the Dev's don't use General for actual balance ideas (Thank God) but they do look at Feedback (or so I've been told, anyways.)

I don't even like Bethesda games, but this was fantastic. 10/10 meme
Thank you good sir.
-
Finally. The most OP killer finally nerfed. They should also nerf Wraith and Pig while they're at it.
They need to buff the weaker killers - like Spirit and Nurse. Now those killers are balanced.
-
The maps looks decent. All my killer games have been at least okay on them.
-
Yo Mr. @chieften333 I found you another one. As spirit on the new Ormond, in her phase a lot of the textures just bug out. I was playing on Low (because Ormond just tanks my FPS) so maybe that has something to do with it. These appear all over the map - whereever there are tarps or on the skis.

Haddonfield is the only survivor sided map in this game now, every other map is a dead zone or straight Killer sided. And you say "Devs Pls Nerf ". Wow...
That is false. Crotus Penn is hell for killers. There is a difference between Survivor sided and "so broken most killers DC or give up the second they get it".
Besides, I'm not asking - it's basically confirmed. Unless the license holder for Haddonfield says otherwise, it will get reworked. It's an old map, one of the oldest in the game at this point.

Man, I can't wait until Haddonfield is reworked.
Straight up, ######### that map.

I mean, I have a few things. That silent slug bug is still in the game.
Oh and this.

Clearly, the best counter is to not do gens. Can't activate NOED if the gens aren't powered.
EZ counter. I win again, killer mains.

Please.
Just give it more than a day. It's been less than 24 hours.

Gotta be honest, they have good synergy but they're not OP. Good survivors can hit good skill checks anyways. Opression and Surveillance are good perks, but not OP - not even together.

Can I move it to feedback?
To move it to feedback you would have to flag your own post, and request that it be moved to feedback - then a mod should take care of it. I say should.
-
I believe they mentioned they were going to give the older character models a new coat of paint eventually - probably not until early 2021
-
Woops, wrong discussion.
Yeah, that's a bit irritating.
-
I can't imagine they are, but as @OniWantsYourMacaroni pointed out, I'm pretty sure this is a higher up decision, not the Dev team. No Developer want's their game to be bad.

Are you guys talking about cards unbound? I will say though, I remember competetive queue getting a bit faster for me, I guess if you aren't going to fork over money to gamble rank 10 cards, they may as well play a mode that auto locked everything to rank 4 (?) . That was the only positive for me.
Can't wait until BHVR releases Perks Unbound!

Agreed 100%. Thanks for the facts.
I don't want this game to fail. I've been playing this game for two years and watching this happen sucks big time. I want this game to succeed, but until someone starts giving a #########, the only direction I see it going is down.

Could be a bit of an apples to oranges comparison there though. I don't know how long GoW was in development for vs DBD, plus it's a single player game vs multiplayer, etc...they're just different games. I don't know what constitutes being called a AAA game, but look at Fall Guys. Simple as fu** and made by 4 or 5 people? No it's certainly not AAA visuals or game mechanics but their bottom line certainly is AAA lol.
Fair enough. My main point is a company this large should be able to put out better content than this.

600 people!? I was not expecting anywhere near that number. That is absolutely ridiculous. Wow....
I mean, I have no idea how many of them actually work on the game, but yes - BHVR as a company has over 600 employees. A very small margin is probably the actual dev team for DbD, but a company this big should be able to put out better content.
For comparison, Santa Monica Studios - the team that made the most recent God Of War only has 300. And that is a AAA game.
-
What a time to come back.
bet you're glad you made this decision

Now I see you writing down literally everything I was thinking like it was actually me doing it lol.
Though no one was gonna remember Paladins.
The last thing I want for this game is for it to end up like Paladins. BHVR, pls don't be Hi-Rez

I feel that way too. I have seen the devs' livestreams and from what I can tell, they seem like cool peeps. They clearly love their game. However I just don't understand why they keep doing what they do and I think that they are just doing what they are told.
Back in the day, I played the Overwatch rip-off Paladins. It had some decent ideas, but it was in the same state DbD is in now, and it was all because of the higher ups at the company. It was a glitchy mess, and pay to win for a few good patches before they lost a huge chunk of their playerbase and realized they screwed up. Pretty sure the game is near dead now. Unless BHVR wisens up, with this and the Halloween event, I see it going down the same road. They even replaced events with a battlebass. Hmm
Honestly, I would think a pretty big portion of the Dev team probably are embarrassed by this patch, but whoever makes the big, financial decisions probably pushed this patch. I don't think it Cote who makes these decisions, most of the time it's the people funding the game.
-
They have 600+ people working there now.
So, no, I don't think so.
-
Well, a quick google told me the current CEO is Rémi Racine, so it's possible it's him making these decisions. Other than that, we'll never actually know. I have a feeling it's a higher up rather than a Developer, but I could be wrong.
-
I mean, Ace got a snazzy ass suit. But, no Wraith skin. Wraith skins are the only things that even make me think a little bit about buying cosmetics.
-
Ha! Like I have money to buy it anyways!
But in all seriousness, this is the first chapter I have about 0 interest in. I bought every killer up to plague with Shards, and from then on have just been buying them with money, but this might be the first chapter I just don't buy, unless they fix it and realize we want them to be better.
-
If not remove perk tiers, do something to address the huge grind this game has.

The people that got it/spent shards will have em back once it's republish. The devs could take a "screenshot" of what you have as of right now and once the chapter is complete you'll get em all back. Add a couple thousand bloodpoints as an apology and it's like nothing happened.
Not saying it's a bad idea. BHVR definitely needs to learn that the community wants them to take their time with chapters and things of the like, but I highly doubt whoever the big executive business man at BHVR is would let them revert a patch.
-
Idk if reverting it would be a great idea. Did this patch need more work? Yes, definitely. But now that it's here, people have already bought it. Etc, etc.
-
I played on it once or twice today. Seemed fine. Then again, I started over the game today and have been playing with mostly babies.

I agree with most of this, but I would want to see something modern, something that is from this generation. I didn't grow up in 70's, 80's, or even 90's. I grew upp on games like Fnaf, Outlast, Amnesia, Bendy, and so on. I didn't even know who Michael Myers was until I saw this game, or even the Pig, or even Pyyramid Head for that matter. I just want to see something I've known, not something that everybody else has seen or watched that I have no feelings for. I just want to have a chapter that has me screaming happily in the addition to a franchise/killer that I know that I've seen, and that I have feelings for
That's completely fair. I, myself, didn't grow up with any of the old killers either - at least not in the way others did. I always knew who they were, but I didn't watch them pretty late into my life. Technically I also kinda grew up with FnAf, I was 14 when it came out or somewhere around that age, but I don't feel a huge connection to it. I think a big issue is there just hasn't been a lot of big horror media lately, at least not as big as those old Slashers.
I did slightly grow up with Silent Hill, but that's just because I always found it interesting. I will fully admit that, if we're going by the other killers lore, it's perfectly reasonable for Springtrap to just appear in the Entity's realm. The Entity takes bad, murderous people and Springtrap is just that.
But I still don't think he'd fit into the game. Idk, there's just a line between 'monster that wears a huge hunk of metal on it's head and symbolizes guilt' and "corpse who wears an animatronic bunny outfit'.
-
Oh god, finally. He always downed me with his totally op power. I swear.
You poor, poor Legion mains.
-
Ohf, jeez.
Alright, look. You want your character in the game. That's cool, fine, whatever. You have to realize a huge portion of the DbD fanbase are Slasher. Like... The old 70's and 80's slashers. There are only a few outliers to this - Demogorgon, Pig, and Pyramid Head - but even two of three of those are from the early 2000's. Springtrap, and FNaF in general, is new and has a younger demographic most of the time. Pig is from Saw, which is a beloved horror franchise. Pyramid Head is from what a lot of people consider the best horror game of all time, so it makes sense for him to be the first videogame Character. And Stranger Things is huge - far bigger then FnAF, as big as FNaF is. Stranger Things rocketed the 80's, synthwave aesthetic back into the limelight. The new IT movies were obviously inspired by Stranger Things. The most I've ever seen of FNaF are a few plushies.
It also doesn't help this is like the 17th post I've seen about this since joining in October. Fnaf is big, sure, but unless Scott Cawthon, or whoever owns the FNaF IP offers I don't see it happening. The community has been overloaded with posts about this, and the more posts they get the more negative their opinion is going to be.
-
When I first started playing the game, sure - It upset me. At this point, not really. I've seen a survivor spam flashlight at me too many times to even care.
-
@FrootLoops said:
totally agree about the killer tutorial. They need to at least have a practice mode for killer powers, maybe when you ready up as killer it takes you to practice while searching for a lobby, since low rank killer wait time is always huge.
Good on you for offering friendly advice to the new killer.
It was at least somewhat obvious she was having a tough time. I didn't try to loop her too hard (I mean, even if I wanted to I'm really not used to the survivor controls, I kept bumping into everything) and I was tempted to just let her kill me but I probably need to get away from the lower ranks.
-
Coming from a former Steve Main, they're really not that good. The only one slightly worth anything is Second Wind, but barely. It needs a shorter healing timer. Inner Strength heals faster, for less effort.
-
@Elena said:
You know what's funny, I still see people defending the tutorial thing...
@lowiq said:
At this point, it would be better if their "tutorial" was just a link to some youtuber explaining the basics of the game.
That's where every learns how to play anyways.
I never realized just how bad it was. It's terrible. If it taught more, like how to counter looping or just loops in general, I have a feeling we'd have at least a bit less bloodlust gamers.
-
To Play: Wraith, Ghostie, and Oni
To verse: Blight is a lotta fun to verse.
-
Ghostface is far better than Myers at this stage in the game, and Myers feels like a lackluster version of Ghostface and Oni. Come at me Myers mains.
-
As fun as that would be, it'd be a balancing mess
I mean... Just imagine a killer with 2 STBFL. It'd be hilarious, but also kinda stupid powerful.
