  • On rank 7 it's also very bad. I feel like around the time the event was over the lobby wait times increased a lot.
  • I play both, kind of evenly, though I have also been playing Survivor more than Killer recently.

Mainly because I have anxiety/personal issues when it comes to playing alone against 4 other players and getting a little stressed because I over think things and get down on myself easily in this situation.

But when I go in just for fun I really enjoy it, and I'm starting to get more comfortable with screwing up and accepting that so long as I have fun it doesn't matter what the 4 survivors think.

I'm very much like you. I always have to be in the right mood to play killer. Facing good organized survivors is sometimes still difficult for me, but I will get there.

So I recently unlocked it for huntress on level 3 and I used it all day. Isn't the description saying that the aura is revealed for 5 seconds? I expected to be aura like BBQ or bitter murmer but it's like rancor. Bug or intended?
Also, is it just me or should be the perk icon get the 15 second exposed countdown like MYC? Had some situations where I wasn't sure if the survivor is still exposed which can be lead to different decisions.

Btw, after using Iron Maiden for quite a long time it feels so insanely slow to reload without it.
Auras are a precise marker while location reading is a hint. If it shows you the survivor's location when it says it'll show you their auras then it's a bug (or writing mistake).
U r right, it says location. Darn, this perk would be so good if it has aura reading. Seems like it will stay a huntress only perk
It needs a rework in my opinion because a perk shouldn't seek use by a few killers.

    Iron Maiden:
Unlocks potential in one's aura reading ability. Whenever a survivor enters a locker, that locker will be highlighted for 6/8/10 seconds. You have a unique sense when a survivor is playing games; lockers no longer hide the survivor's auras.
    ^ This.
Love the idea. This would give the perk more use.

Same with gens and RTB's. I leave a gen at 99% to give the person time and work on another gen instead, but the others just pop it... Very few actually don't finish a gen when RTB is in play, it's like most survivors never got the connection or just don't care.

RBT are so weak that you really dont need to 99% a gen.

Generally I agree if you have competent survs, but not if you've got potatoes on your team. It's situational. Sometimes you really need some extra time.

  • My three alltime faves are:

[rec](the original). The best authentic, disturbing found footage movie ever.
A tale of two sisters (korean original). Subtle, chillig, incredibly clever produced horror with great performances.
    Alien. It's just so good.
I'm extremely into subtle horror.. I also liked the first saw movie a lot, but more as a psycho thriller.

Oh dear but you are biased, at least way more than before ;)
I still love you @Tsulan ,no worries
But I'm playing almost only survivor now. :(

I would love to see you playing as survivor. Please record a match and send it to me.

Hey vietfox, I can't make out your psn Name but if it's something with vietfox I think we played a game together some time ago... Against a Freddy. If that was you, I liked your style.

    Sure think, it's Vietfox87.
I won't be home till january the 3rd or 4th though.
Dont remember, what was my style btw?
Hmmm from what I remember, bold and competent.
(tw) At one point I was downed and my friend just healed me in front of freddy and you joined in.. That was pretty sweet. It was a good game.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it was the first minute of the game. No gens were done. One survivor missed a skillcheck on our gen, killer found us, chased me and as soon as I was hooked the farming began. I tried to get away but the killer wouldn't let me, didn't do anything when they teabagged me on the hook and never hit anyone else but the surv who just got unhooked. (after me he hooked the Meg but let them heal up after 2 hooks)
I reported them all but I'm on playstation, so...
Good to hear that there are reasonable Killers out there. I completely understand that farming in general circumstances is a cost the survs have to bear (if it's not clearly toxic, mindless sandbagging). But this game, man. Weird.

@NeonAlien it only gains tokens when you can hear the heartbeat though.
Not always, sometimes it alerts me when I can't fully hear the heartbeat already (shortly before I hear it) and against Freddy it's extremely useful to me since I have trouble hearing the music when it's faint.
  • JanTheMan said:
Also why TF does it eat one of your tokens when you hit a great?
    It doesn't tho
  • I kinda agree that other conditions would be nice, against stealthy Killers, but I'd not want to lose the ability to see when I gain tokens. To get to know when I enter the Terror radius without even hearing it is one of the reason I use the perk.
Edit; if you mean that I dont see the token gain with stealth Killers only, thats ok.

It's true that you're going nerve Chile if so what are you going to do ?
What about Perú, are they gonna nerf it as well?
I hope they buff Cuba in return.
  • Apart from that, their concept/appearance is so lame and uninspired, not scary at all...
  • I always do gens even though the other survivor could very well be hugging walls and waiting for me to die first. Yes, it feels bad knowing that doing the objective makes me more likely to be targeted than my teammate who crouches in the corner of the map and does nothing. But I refuse to resort to boring/cheesy gameplay just to get out alive. I usually try and save the last one on the hook too, so sometimes I get killed instead and that's fine. I'd rather have an interesting game and die than surviving after 10 Minutes of waiting for my teammate to get found first... It's just annoying to know that being the one who actually does something gets you punished, but of course everyone is free to choose their playstyle.
  • Awesome, yes please. I especially like the 2nd idea of wake up.
  • Stakeout.
Under the right circumstances, or when you spend your time in the TR, you can really rush through gens/healing and it's a neat counter to ruin.
As long as you don't have all 4 tokens full, it also serves as a detection perk because it starts the timer when you just barely scrape the TR - for example, I know when Freddy is coming near already, while the music is barely noticeable.
I love to run this perk on my Tapp build and while I know it's not meta, think it's very underrated.
  • Honestly, I'd love to be able to use more than 4 perks. Some perks are really important to me and it's rather uncomfortable playing without Urban Invasion or Borrowed time. Every now and then I'll try some other perks and tend to get a little annoyed that they mostly are just too situational to really convince me in the end - and it's a shame so many perks are being overlooked because of that.
Many perks are kinda weak/situational and not really worth a slot on the long run, even though they sound okay - they most likely don't provide the impact that the fewer, very good perks provide. One of my fave builds doesnt have meta perks in it besides Borrowed time and even then I feel like Urban Invasion or we will make it would be a great addition... It's all a bit "Meh" for me, given the ammount of perks to choose from and only 4 available slots where so many perks are interesting but often times not sexy enough to replace my favorites.
  • Imagine Dwight cheering you on @ the hook
  • Yamaoka. And I'd love a graveyard in general (maybe for the asylum?)
  • I want my 5 LOL's back  :'(
  • Tapp cause he is cool and stealthy and Feng Min for the aesthetics, Spirit for fun and to improve my awful tracking skills and Hag because she slays.
  • Nice!

I like this idea tho, however they'd def nerf the % to keep balance.
But it would still be better than the "Me Killer. Me PGTW." feel it has now. Sometimes it's difficult to reach the gen and a decent amount of time you'll end up running into a survivor before you get to one, leaving you at a kick or chase situation.

What if the timer worked like the one of the reverse bear trap? Going on hold while in a chase and on top of that, stacking the time you'd have left with another 30 seconds if you hook another survivor? Idk, just an idea to help take away the pressure but remain within the spirit of Anti-Camping (also, if someone is hook rushing, you could first defend the hook without the timer going to waste).
  • What rank and region?

Rank 7 atm (have been rank 1 before reset, had similiar issues sometimes, but right now it's really really bad)
    EU (germany)
  • Also, others are getting thrown out of full lobbies so we're 3 survivors waiting and presumably, the lobby bug kicks in, forcing the killer to cancel the lobby because for what feels like years, no one joins. (still waiting for a game since OP btw)
  • Thanks, good to know we're not the only ones... Doesn't help with the frustration but I really hope those issues are being recognized. We're just now waiting for half an hour again. Been playing maybe 4 games since we started 3 hours ago. Finding a lobby, getting disconnected again. Waiting for another unspecified time frame, maybe 2 Minutes, maybe 40 just to get disconnected once more. I randomly get network issues but my Internet comnection is fine. I'm really a little annoyed at this point.
Edit: we're also the same rank so that really can't be the problem.
  • Killer: Pig, Clown, Myers, Wraith
    Survivor: Nea, Claudette
  • So you're saying that when some dumb racist uses the claudette mask, the mask itself is problematic and racist, and therefore not including the mask would be the solution against racism and not be racism in itself?

  • Trapper stepping in his own traps. Never gets old.
  • I'd rather be farmed or unsavely unhooked once in a while than being trolled by a teammate preventing an unhook. Also, risky unhooks can play out really well! I can already see scaredy cats preventing any kind of risk-taking, resulting in wasting time and probably their certain death.

Edit:  I really do get your frustration but I also kinda think it's part of the game and fine as is.
  • I've had countless games where I felt I was the only one doing gens, saving people, clearing totems, distracting the killer.
There was a game where I literally did 4 gens on my own while the rest of my team was getting downed & hooked by the killer, saved each other, then got downed again, non-stop (clearly no farming, it was just a complete mess) and in the end the remaining survivors just left me to die on the hook.
But what salts me the most are survivors hiding in lockers with clearly no killer around and those who crouch near me while I'm hooked, hesitating for an eternity and ultimately just watching me die because they're a lil pussy.
  • I've also started playing around summer. When I first heard the Main theme, I was kinda blown away - the dark sound, the sense of loneliness, grim and intimidating yet also almost soothing without sounding cheesy. I love the transition from main menue to survivor and killer aswell. The songs that came after were so bland and uninteresting in comparison. There was no soul or passion in it. I really miss the original theme and at the very least I hope that the next music pieces they will compose will have some weight and Individuality to them.
  • Damn now I really want different fog/map colors.
    And wraith with airhorn bell.
  • I play mostly survivor and I don't want this.for the same reason I don't want built-in kindred. I really don't want to have too much Information at all times, for free. I like suspense and having to guess, trying to make the best of a situation and making difficult decisions. I also love the times when my Team plays well coordinated, even though one does not always know what the others are going for. It feels so rewarding when you did all that by your self. So having a counter for Totems would be too convenient to me.
  • I always make noise to get the Killers attention and let him hook me if no Gens are done and I'm the only one left (So I guess you can call me ######### :innocent: ). No need to waste their time, the escape chance is minimal and not worth the effort to me. I once had a survivor that spent 20 Minutes avoiding me to get Gens done, but in the end it didn't go anywhere for him and it was just tedious. I think somerimes, people tend to take the getting that escape/kill a little too serious, to be honest. But there's nothing you can do but try your best to find Them, or alternatively get some tea, read a book or whatever until the Gens needed to escape are done and you can go on to the next match.

This victim narrative needs to end.

That's exactly what I am saying. Survivor should just admit that they are the powerrole AND the numerous role.
They talk like they are "victim", but they are not.
The Devs need to start balancing the game so that killer are real threats and THAN we can talk about killer should play easy on the survivor.

Since the event started, I've read tons of posts about how killers are playing nicer / letting the survivors farm a bit or going a little easier on them. But besides one (1) killer who wanted to farm (which is weird enough, I remember the BBQ event for example, was full of farming rounds), I've hat zero encounters with those types... Instead, many killers I met seemed to be a lil toxic - signalizing the nonverbal "no" to let you know that you will die, nodding their head frantically, or the classic; repeadetly hitting the hooked survivor or just slugging / toying with the survivors as they please. And not one killer let me harvest some nectar in peace.
I'm not asking for easy games and I'm absolutely okay with killers wanting to play the game as intended despite the nectar, even if that means tunneling me to death. I'm just wondering why a considerable ammount of killers (way more than usual) I encounter during the event go out of their way to make the experience as unfun as possible. And also, I'm reading so many good experiences or how nice killers are being this event, but I don't get any of that love :c

I'm pretty sure it's not what's happening for everyone but for me, this event just feels so different and "colder" than the BBQ event.

I farmed almost every game as killer. Only exception would be survivors that ditn want to farm with me.

I am done now with event on both sides and wont play anymore, but IF i played killer, I would play normally because farming is really boring.

You want the killer to farm with you, but you dont want easy games? Ehm.....

    My response disappeared, so again...
I don't need to farm, I'm only wondering why I've came across only one killer who wanted to farm or be friendly with each other during the event so far, since I remember differently from the BBQ event.
I'm really just curious, that's all.
This experience is also from the early days of the event.
I'm aware that by now, many killers & survivors have their vials full and don't need to play the game differently.

Although I still try and give the killer an event hook when he burned a special offering (by not wiggling or presenting myself at the hook in endgame) because I know it's a pain to get all vials full as killer.

What's the point playing nice when some survivors are stupid af and don't let me hook them after I let them farm their flowers?

Understandable. Some only want to take and I get that you get fed up with that.

  • @Dreamnomad said:
For the most part, I've been playing the game like normal. I've had one survivor walk up to an event hook and point at it to let me know he was willing to be hooked. I let him live. If I get down to one or two survivors and they are harvesting a plant, I'll usually let them finish before killing them.

But I hear what you are saying. I had one game as a survivor against a trapper and the trapper put two traps by the last plant. He caught the only other survivor and was camping that survivor so I squeezed between his traps and tried to fill up my vial. He caught me working on the plant with literally 1% left to harvest. He hit me once and I stayed put to try to finish it off, but he hit me again, hooked me and then did the "no" head shake. That triggered me a little bit.

I think that's fair. No one is really asking to get out untouched (at least I'm not, I'm happy to offer myself for the event hooks), but god it's really triggering when you just need that one last drop of nectar and the killer just does not care. I get it though, killers just want to play the game and I don't want to ask anyone to play differently (just less toxic, ya feel me?). Nevertheless, wondering where killers like you are at in my games :'D

  • Yeah I have been downed multiple times while being unhooked over the last weeks. At first I thought it's a bug but it seems like they really removed it. I liked it since you had at least 1 fraction of a chance to try & run if you're being farmed ;/
  • Personally, I'd love to have a 5th extra perk for killers and survivors which can only be filled with one of their personal perks...

No need to change that, because it already got balanced.
When the perk came out WGLF outclassed BBQ by a mile.
And guess what? Devs balanced it.
BBQ is kinda "better" because it solves SURVIVOR ISSUES. So the killer pick a perk, that helps solving the others side issues.
WGLF on the other hand does not help the killer in any way, so why should it be on the same level as BBQ?

    survivorlogic

I just want more ways to get tokens. Perk offers 100% bloddpoints, I want to actually get the 100%

Anyway, that does not answer my question, why should a survivor perk that benefits ONLY the survivor be equal to a killer perk that ALSO benefits the survivor?

Would it hurt anyone if there were more ways to get stacks with WGLF? It still wouldn't compare to BBQ's aura reading anyway, so idk where you got that "should be equal" from outside of being able to get reasonable stacks, which only benefits BP. More ways to get a stack besides unhooking / taking a hit to reach the 100% gain would actually promote a more diverse play style for survivors.
  • Agreed... Also, her HAAH-sound when hitting / hooking you reminds me more of a pirate than anything else.
  • Thats a great idea and very sweet. I would not do the grade thing tho, Its a bit too much. The game already has the Emblem System to tell survs how they did. If you're handing out grades like in school it could come off as belittleling or at least a little weird. Also you probably won't have enough time and capacities to recognize everything they do individually. Aside from that Its a cute thing to do and I'd have liked that as a beginner.
  • One time I wanted to protect someone who was being chased by taking a hit for him and draw the Killers attention. Instead, I bodyblocked him and got him downed, hooked and killed. I instantly recieved a salty message as if I didnt hate myself enough already.
  • It looks boring, confusing and stressful at the same time and has got zero atmosphere. So no.
