  • I always had an idea for predator to make it work like monitor. What I mean by that is, scratch marks are normal and spread out when not in chase and as soon as chase starts they tighten up. Maybe make them glow a bit brighter too.

So yeah basically: Normal Scratches out of chase....tightened scratches in chase.

As for bloodhound I'd just make it so that you wouldn't have to pair it with sloppy to be an ok tracking perk. How Id do this is simple, bloodhound basic attacks apply the haemorrhage status effect.

No idea what I'd do for shadowborn really.

It was mentioned in the weekly dev stream one time, back when they still did those.

It's a purposeful design choice, to give the Killer time to get away from the hook hopefully unseen, and to give the Survivors an opportunity to slink away from a freshly completed generators.

Hmm then maybe if that's the reason, why not give a small buff to bitter murmur and have it also remove said gen bubbles? So that they don't hide bitter murmurs aura effect like that bubble sometimes tends to do.

  • Cross-progression doesn't exist for dead by daylight from PlayStation to PC.

Youll have to start from scratch.

  • Yeah I'd highly recommend a licensed killer to get auric cells with, bc you can't buy them with shards. You can eventually get the original killers with shards.

  • Yup no cross progression from PS4 to PC available sorry.

Give me +100% BP as basekit and I won't use BBQ ever again

Straight up, same. I hate using it but I love my BP gains so I will never drop it lol...I like other perks alot more over it like discordance or thrilling Tremors. Take away the bp and make it basekit and I'd probably run it on like 2 killers.

I’m just frustrated. I really hate BBQ. I do (or attempt to do) the right things: reach a locker in time, reposition myself on the generator, try to get within BBQ’s blind spot range, get myself near a loop with a pallet ready for the killer.

But quite often I’m quickly screwed or cucked. I’m tired of the idea that somebody ELSE losing their chase punishes other players. And the part where so many killers are putting in zero mental effort to find survivors.

Yo it's been a few months since I've asked, but how's your clown build coming along? Has it evolved or changed any since the introduction of a few chapters? Haven't asked in a bit and I really always loved your unique builds.

  • I think it's only really good for killers who can set up the exit gates like trapper for example. Gives them time to set it up if they haven't already previously done so. Other then that, not too good.

  • Mine would be "are there any plans to reduce the massive grind soon as this is a problem that really hurts new and old players alike"

My regular Build is DS/DH/BT and Iron Will. And I am running this for long (except that I used to run Balanced Landing, before they nerfed it, instead of DH). Complete Meta-Build, but I dont see any reason to not run it. First of all, Killers will not run Meme-Builds either and second, I have already done everything - no Perks, random Perks, No Mither... So I just run strong stuff.

Regarding the grind (and more on-topic):

I think there are several possibilities to reduce the Grind:

    • Remove Category Caps, but keep overall Cap of 32k-->So that players are able to get more BPs in the Categories. Like, some Killers have a harder time to get Deviousness, but max out on Hunting pretty quick. Or, Survival-BPs as Survivor, if you dont escape, you usually dont get many, meanwhile you max out in Boldness or Objective pretty quickly.
    • Double all Category-BP-Offerings-->Brown Offerings bring 100% in the Category, yellow 150% and green 200%. This would make them actually worth using, to get the value out of a green Offering, you would need to get 5k BPs in that Category. And even if you max out, you just get a Bonus of 3K. With doubled value (so 200%), you would only need to get 2,5k BPs to tie and with max points, you would actually get 11k profit.

Those two can be done together or at least one of those.

    Another solution:

    • Just double all BP-gains and the Cap (64k). 600 BPs for a Great Skill Check, 600 BPs for a Hit, 1600 BPs for a Shred. This would half the grind. However, they would need to nerf BBQ and WGLF in this case. Especially as Killer it would be really bad if you would be able to get 64k BPs Base, 64k BPs with BBQ extra and another 64k BPs with a Pudding. This would allow Killers to run the strongest Add Ons every game.

Thanks friend! I'll try that out for sure! Guess I'll swap out iron will for wglf lul

    • I actually really like that removed bp cap thing but I'd go a step further and raise the overall cap from 32k to like 40k or even 50k. But other then that, that's really good because if someone is really good at chasing then they won't be getting hurt in their overall bp gains as much.
    • Maybe make them work similarly to bbq or bps? I mean like have them double your gains after the match. Like if you got 8k in deviousness you'd get 16k after the match? Idk lemme know what you think.
    • Honestly I support this idea the most, double all bp gains and remove the bp element of wglf and bbq so that so many people wouldnt feel the need to run them. Basically built in bbq/wglf.
  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2184182#Comment_2184182

Honestly, whenever I play WGLF, I just include it in my regular Build. But I guess, WGLF and BT together are fine, the other Perks as you like.

You can go full bonkers on Protection Hits and include Mettle of Man as well (and a good Medkit), but you basically have to throw a game to make MoM work, lol.

I'm about the same to be honest, I usually bring it in my normal builds, just so feel like I'm not gimping myself out of potential gains.

I guess I should ask a different question then, what's your main build then? My build currently is Wglf, BT, DH, and Spine Chill/Iron will depending on how I'm feeling. But if I wanna go full blown farming for items and bp I use WGLF, Plunderers, Prove thyself, and Bond.

I just wish they'd do multiple things to help with the grind, many many more x2 bp weekends... minimum once a month. Maybe trade in unwanted items for BP or make prestiging worth it by having the perks tiers already unlocked correlate to your prestige. What I mean is like if your killer is prestige 2, every perk in the web would be level 2. I think a combination of all the above or just a few would help so much.

  • Yup the grind is definitely too much, I've had a few friends give up or never stick with the game bc they didn't get much unlocked, felt like an unobtainable obstacle for them.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

I have nearly 5900 hours and only have maxed out all Survivors and around a third of the Killers.

Yes, you might say the grind is too much.

Dang p3 all perks, all survivors? I guess you are the person to ask then, what's a good bp build or build in general that includes wglf? I'm always swapping around my surv build lol

  • lol 100% that was a level of straw manning and wildy made up scenarios that I've not seen Ina while...made absolutely no sense.

*Insert crazy unrealistic scenario* "I bet you think that's ok don't you? Please say yes"

  • Idk could be the tome challenge to unhook in the killers terror radius with bt also lol...that and there's one to get like 6 safe unhooks as well so two challenges to get unhooks will cause alot of hook bombing, I'd hold any opinions on new bt till this is a non issue, because it's not a fair representation of normal gameplay. Sorta like how everyone is playing plague, not because suddenly plague is more popular but bc she has tome challenges.

I hook dive bombed to get unhooks just because of that challenge when I normally don't.

  • Aww I was really hoping it would, this would be a great, easy way to give survivors more bp gains in survival...

  • Niceeee thanks for your hard work!

  • Some of these comments are widly off topic complaining about the killer op is using or how well he did in a match.

Literally none of that matters when the topic is someone using exploits.

It'd be akin to killers using the forever mending legion exploit and someone coming in to say "well the survivors were a 4man swf with meta perks so I don't see the problem". Like you aren't achieving anything with it.

  • @CashelP14 hey you planning to make some for the next tome as well? It's getting close to it. Or do you plan to wait for the day it's out

  • I just yesterday got my ps5. And let me say it makes a world of difference.

Trust me I feel your pain brother, I ended up mostly playing survivor these past few months bc I got to the point where killer was unplayable for me at least...killers my favorite role btw, and even survivor had it's issues like Freddy's dream world, any killer with sloppy, random frame drops during skill checks making them miss sometimes not being ur fault...so on.

I was thinking about testing it out, but I've been doing it more frequently in normal matches, and it seems like it doesn't shift. It's just harder LOS, because you can't see them as well, but they still have that slightly invisible hitbox. No problem for the build. Give it a shot it's really good on him.

Well that's good to know and also remember where the female survivors models are smaller you can actually hit some of the dead air above their head.

I wanted to ask one thing about your build, you know how alot of tricksters struggle if survivors are super close like in his face? I bet shadowborn helps with that alot as well.

  • @GodLikeTerror said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/245001/am-i-reading-these-trickster-add-ons-right

It makes laceration decay slower, never run them though. His best addon combos are trick blades/cut through u single Bloody boa/Melodious murder Bloody boa/caged heart shoes Trick pouch/Bloody boa and the grey one I forgot the name already, but the one like caged heart shoes. Trick blades/cut through u single is a very very disgusting addon combo though.

    So basically..

    Piercing + Ricochet

    Blades + Less Laceration required

    Blades + Throw Movement

    Blades x2

    Throw Movement x2

I've mostly been using Throw Movement x2 myself because when I'm learning/trying to master a killer I try to use only yellow and below add-ons since they are easy to obtain and gives me a better feel of their base power.

I will say tho, double movement speed feels soooo nice. Not sure the exact percent changes since int3r4ct hasn't updated the doc for the new buff changes to my knowledge but yeah it's sweet.

  • I mean you can always grab a friend or two and test this out in a kyf? To see if there's a difference between injured and healthy for him.

Also thanks for the build in the other thread I was just teasing.

He has a lot of things to learn when it comes to it. Personally for me I don't really focus on gens. It might sound crazy, but I never focus gen pressure. You usually win more efficiently if you push on focusing on ending chases as fast as possible. Most of your wins are going to come from learning to end chases in a matter of seconds. With myers you should always never go for the 4 slug though. It usually results in it backfiring. Like if you can get 1-2 slugs and then hook them kinda close together you can sit on top of that if you wish, and there is nothing the rest of the team can do. That's why I really enjoy playing Trickster though, because he can end chases in 10 seconds if you play him correctly, so I don't even have to worry about gens. If ruin stays up usually it's just a byproduct of getting quick downs you force people off gens to make them come for the saves, but when I first started playing I was willing to learn from my mistakes, and still do learn from my mistakes, and I 3-4k pretty much 99/100 games.

I gotta ask for that trickster build then fam haha

I use the elite controller on Xbox, so I'm able to fiddle around and find a decent sensitivity that keeps my shots accurate but allows me to react if a survivor trys to say run around me to make me miss. I'm not sure if you're on PC or xbox, but I recommend you also fiddle about with the sensitivity. Maybe start at 80% and go from there, find one you're comfortable with.

To be completely honest, the diagonal flick dosent work for me since the trickster got buffed. However I find myself being more accurate with my shots since the update, I'm not sure if it's through alot of practice(I play him religiously) or if the fixed Recoil makes me better then I was before. But really at this point it's trial and error. However I'll sign off with one Hexy tip:)

Still find yourself battling Recoil more than the survivors themselves? Try this out, tap your knife throws instead of holding down the throw button, if you aim down slightly when doing this you should be able to combat a good portion of the Recoil and your shots will be more accurate. This actually makes Tricksters power slightly intimidateing with the dancing shoes add on.

I'm not the best Trickster player, but hopefully at least something of what I said can be taken as useful advice. Good luck:)

Thanks for the response! I was using about 75, I've lowered It to 70. So basically I should manually press the button on most loops but spam it in animation locks? That's what I've gathered so far. Oh and also aim/press slightly down.

All this should help me alot for not being so bad at using his knives

So wait others know about my hidden trick? Oh no this is terrible,

AHA I got it, you see is there anyway to muddle with your controllers sensitivity? Ie do you have an elite controller? His sensitivity was so high for me at first and that combined with the Recoil made it impossible to control. It was only after I turned down my sens alittle that the Recoil it itself ALSO became easier to control.

And yes the Recoil does take practice to control, you can try flicking the stick diagonally in the direction the survivors try and run in, this has worked for me.

    Good luck Dad:D

Anymore tips? Like what sensitivity you run with and what else I can do to stay accurate.

Thanks for your time and much love

I doubt they will change it.

It's just her addons are kinda dated. Things like exhaustion hatchets will of course be removed, they are being removed from every killer gradually.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2092776#Comment_2092776

    This attitude is just...the worst.

Yeah exactly why they should never announce a change like this before it happens, the community consistently abuses it and makes the game nearly unplayable. I remember toolboxes, medkits, and moris. Here's to hoping they just drop the huntress changes lol

  • @Laurie268 said:

I really hope they don’t touch huntresses’ basekit, unless they want to kill her off. Only her iri head needs a rework

Demo should be next on the list, they said it in a recent Q&A. But no ETA given and maybe it will even change until then.

And Mikey is on that list too because he doesn't have the standard addon numbering system everyone else has. If I recall he doesn't have enough browns. Something like that. They were planning to make every killer in line with that system and he would fall under that curtain.

I hope huntress is next. Iri has been a problem forever now. For the games health I hope she's next lol

As a colorblind person some maps are really difficult to see scratch marks to the point that we are at a significant disadvantage. I'm red weak colorblind, so the red is drained out of the color. So scratch marks aren't as bright. On maps like Ormond I do great on just because its red on white. But give me red dawg saloon and I'm completely blind. Normal people lose scratch marks on the grass on that map, I lose them almost every time.

Some non-colorblind people can adjust the settings to a brighter color. It could help new people, but most killers are accustomed to tracking even with the normal colors, so it won't give them an advantage over the survivors as the marks still last as long as they normally do.

They did change the aura colors, which I didn't have too much of an issue with, but I'm okay with it.

I haven't tried the settings yet since I gave up dbd for holy week, but am looking to trying them next weekend.

I very much hope that the colorblind settings help you then my friend!

  • @supersonic853 said:

Great! Awesome! Im not colorblind but i know people who are. Apparently theres a problem with one though that makes scratchmarks way more visible. Dk if itll be abused but heres hoping not.

I have not heard this issue what's going on exactly? What are people supposedly doing? I'm curious as I've not heard about it all.

Besides aren't colorblind modes very existence gonna make it easier to see some things even if you aren't colorblind.

As a survivor I never used DS because I am a killer main and I despise the perk. I think DS will still be meta after it's change. It just won't be ab-usable anymore.

Most of the time I run WGLF+BT. An exhaustion perk. 4th perk depends on if I have a medkit. If I don't I bring IS, SC, Bond, or pharmacy so I can cure myself/find someone to heal me. If I do have a medkit I put on something like spine chill, kindred, dance with me ect.

I deal in absolutes, I need definitive answers don't gimme so many options wahhh jkjk

what exhaustion do you prefer bc I tend to flip between dead hard and sprint burst. As for the 4th what do you tend to use more often? I only ask bc I'm usually so indecisive and can never make up my mind on things. Plus I wanna new survivor build to use.

Much love Joshua ;) I see u around here alot

  • Side note it's a super common misconception that that song says "each pokemon to understand" but the official lyrics says "teach pokemon to understand".

  • Yeah I would love a fov slider even if they had to make it limited from like 80 or whatever's base to 105. (I think shadowborn brings it to 104 I'm not sure).

Edit: base is 87 and with shadowborn it's 102. Had to look it up bc I didn't know.

KIllers' FOV is ridiculously small and I wonder if people who defend it even play killer. Survivors can literally hide from your view just being in front of you which is stupid.

Yeah it also doesn't help that, when you miss someone right in front of you bc of the low fov, it makes you feel super boosted lol. You use shadowborn on most killers right? Well rip that perk slot till the off chance they add a slider :(

Clown main here (sort of, I main Blight and PH as well), I run the movement speed reload addon (Smelly Inner Soles), which makes Clown reload similarly to the Deathslinger except you can cancel it. With the 3 second reload time, it's pretty quick to be honest, so I throw a yellow bottle to get to a gen, reload the bottles in the yellow fog, and I speed to that gen. If you use an addon that gives you 1-2 bottles, you can spare the two for getting around the map.

Antidotes are still pretty good to use during loops tho, as long as you know what you're doing

That actually makes me think...use the faster reload addon with the movement speed while reloading (yes I know this addon isn't good) while in the antidote gas...could be fun and pretty zooming lol

    Anyone here try it?

Well most top clown players don't usually post gameplay and or stream. Most of the top one's have quit playing the game and or just don't play clown anymore, but the one's who do like me are grasping our heads around this is still a major buff to clown. I do not think there was another buff possible for him without making him too oppressive which is what happened to freddy. You have to understand that, most killers who have fast travel or any sort of speed typically have downsides. Clown does not have a downside with his speed. He is the only actual pure m1 based killer that now has a speed ability without an actual downside, besides survivors getting the buff walking into it. Which shouldn't be happening if you actually know what you are doing. If you are handing clown snares along with a speed boost, and people like to drop pallets a lot against clown, and clown didn't have anything to fill in the gap between a pallet. Now he actually does. You can end chases faster now.

Yeah the current top clown Ginger Bread has been busy with work and stuff. Source: I talk to him from time to time on steam. c:

Don´t worry, if for whatever reason Undying Devour becomes meta, they´ll remove the stack transfer faster than you can say "nerf Keys".

Lmao to be fair, you probably aren't wrong.

  • These forums are something else man, you either have boosted survivors moaning about their dstrike being nerfed. Or boosted killers moaning about their poor widdle undying.

Ruin and undying is still strong while also making undying good to combo with other totems and not just ruin.

Try out undying + devour. Try out undying and the third seal. Stop being a slave to the meta. Variety is good and nerfing abusable OR overly oppressive perks is a good thing. You will find more enjoyment in the game once you let go of such things.

Edit: All im saying if anyone relies that much on one perk to do good in a game, they probably need to improve at the game themselves.

I actually believe it is for a much lazier reason. I’m pretty sure they are giving up on fixing console frame rate. I say this because the animation change was a direct nerf to 360. Why does that matter? Console frames can’t follow 360 on killer. It why you see a lot of console killers whiff it. It’s not because they are bad, it’s because survivors were literally not on the screen.

This whole legal issue is spirling out of control.

And you know whats even worse? the original issue is with the original writer owning the FIRST Friday the 13th movie. And Jason didn't appear until the second movie and the hockey mask Jason was in the third. So even if the original writer won the rights to the script it, it would only be to the first movie. Meaning whoever own the rights to the characters of Jason would be another separate issue that needs to be solved.

The chances of Jason coming to DBD is very slim.

Dont be surprised if you hear another lawsuit pop up, my grandma and your dog probably are owed some unpaid profits as well. =<

Side note for us Friday the 13th fans its horrible news....no new movies probably and no jason in dbd most likely.
