It's a mode that came about because players said the game wasn't scary anymore and where's the horror. In reality players want to win, not be scared, so it's hated.
Players that play the mode with the mentality of normal matches miss the point. It's supposed to be like facing a movie serial killer.
"In reality players want to win"
Well yes, we see this in every discussion around game balance. Anytime someone mentions just playing for fun and not worrying about winning or losing, a bunch of people will tell you to stfu and they're here to win (ask me how I know lol). Not sure if you tried survivor in the first round of LO, but I can assure you the issue was less to do with losing/winning and more to do with the frustration of running into walls and corners because you were disorientated.
-
Not getting confused with Father Campbell's Chapel? It's in the same realm as Asylum. Asylum i haven't noticed issues with, FCC has had a density issue near shack for a long time

This is main issue with lights out from surviour prespetive.
you just verse same killers that get huge advantage from the mode while survivors get to play in the dark..
I worry about Jason in this mode with his red mist and KI out of OE.That's why the lanterns now give survivors pallet and window auras, so they have a point of reference like killers do (gen auras) and it won't be so disorientating. I'm looking forward to playing Pig and getting some sneaky gen grabs, but I imagine there will be plenty of Legion, Doctor, and Bubba like last time. I do think there will be an increase in players on the first day, then a sharp decline like last time. This mode has never been popular and I'm kind of surprised they're bringing it back.

It would actually be super cool if you could spectate random matches. I'd totally toss that on in the background and see how other people respond to things. Would be a great learning tool.
And not having to watch people who play the game for a living would help set more realistic expectations for people too
-
I doubt it's killers specifically, and more that the casual players are back on their break until the next event
-
Play whatever killers you enjoy. I currently enjoy Pig and Freddy the most, so that's who I play the most. I don't think any deeper than that.
-
You win a lot, your MMR goes up a lot, game gives you more experienced opponents. I criticise the SBMM a lot, but in this case your situation is literally the game working as designed. And honestly, this is probably not a rare occurrence when playing Ghoul. He gets great results for far little effort (in comparison to other killers). It's something this playerbase has consistently tried pointing out the developers re power creep.
-
Who are you comparing yourself to? I guarantee most players are average at this game. Most people have jobs, relationships, sports, social lives, etc, and DBD is just something they squeeze in on their free time. The people who play this game for a living or put every spare minute into it will always be better at it, but they're not the majority and, let's be honest, it's not some massive accomplishment. No one is gonna be standing at their funeral one day talking about how great they were at a video game.
At 2k hours, you must have a killer you enjoy playing by now surely? I think we all have killers we want to play but just don't enjoy or find them too difficult (for me it's Krasue, i find her too clunky), but on the flipside there must be something you enjoy if you're still sticking around.

I've been reported for guarding a gen, tunneling, running a good chase. If you okay the game with any modicum of skill you'll get reported 🤣
And the rest of us pay the price when legit reports get clogged up 😩

Body blocking is not toxic or reportable
A lot of people get confused by this one. Killers bodyblocking/trapping a survivor in a corner for an extended period of time is reportable (exception for endgame). Bodyblocking for a team mate, ie trying to take a protection hit, is not. Makes me wonder how many people report the latter to Support.
-
Matchmaking in this game doesn't make sense at the best of times, and should have long been a priority for the devs. Apparently an announcement is coming soon regarding their SBMM overhaul.
-
I feel the same way. In general i enjoyed the event and I'd be happy to see more iterations of it in future. My only criticism the whole time was literally that all killer got was poison. It was strong, it was effective, but it felt far less interactive than what the other role had to play with. A killer bot could have done the same lol it felt kind of like that meme of Squidward watching through his blinds as Patrick and Spongebob are having a blast 🤣

Yeah well it's accurate enough to show that the kill rate isn't anywhere close to actually being 60%, even if you give it a very generous margin of error.
Before Jason dropped I was watching the stat and it was steady at 48% for a while.
Brimstoneslinger is right. Survivors got info on the HUD, higher pallet density, anti-facecamp, basekit BT buffed up to 15 seconds, longer hook states, a gen regress limit, hook grabs removed and I'm sure we're forgetting something else. Meanwhile killers got 5% kicks and … what else?
But kill rates haven't fallen in the last 3 years because NiGhTlIgHt Is iNaCcUrAte.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3WCBQTD57K0R/austin-powers-right.gif
Oh, accurate enough? Let's look at Lich. Official killrate, released 3 months ago, of 65%. Nightlight has him at 50%. That's not really accurate enough at all.
Oh, and it's based on less than 300 matches voluntarily uploaded to the site. No indication of how many people uploaded those matches. Heck, could have been one or two people. I'll stick to the official stats based on thousands of matches rather than a tiny sample size of a couple hundred cherry-picked ones from a site that excludes majority of the playerbase. But if those 296 games hold more weight for you, well, you do you boo. Good luck with that.

And now the average kill rate is 49% across all killers according to Nightlight. So clearly the changes since 6.1.0 have been more advantageous to survivors.
Nightlight is not accurate lol that's also been well established. I'm surprised people still refer to it tbh.

Those changes were heavily compensated by other survivor buffs at early stages of dbd such as basekit bt, as i stated earlier in last 3 years killers received 5% gen regression vs 4-6 survivor basekit perks, and this approach make sweaty tactics like tunneling even more prevalent in current state of dbd
The changes i mentioned came from the 6.1.0 update, the intended purpose of which was to increase kill rates from 50% to 60% (and the devs announced 3 months later that the update had succeeded in their goal). So I would argue that there was very little impactful compensation.
Regardless, as has been well established, both sides have received significant balance changes in their favour.

If there's one universal truth about this playerbase, it's that if there's a bug to exploit it will be exploited to the fullest extent

Take a break, or as said above, stop watching YouTube videos. There's a lot of recent videos about killer anxiety, I'm guessing you've seen some and as they say, life tends to meet your expectations. There are qualified people out there who can help you unpack anxiety issues, but the easiest form of self care is just to set your own healthy boundaries.

I think what the game needs is a ranked mode, because it would make it so much easier to separate streamers with no lives from regular players.
This is a common request, but I think the biggest issue with that is the sweats don't like to play against other sweats. Having a ranked mode is one thing, but keeping people in their lane is another. I agree with @Your_Dad_Playing_DbD, we need a functional SBMM system first and foremost. Then it'll be easier to assess balance. But overall, I do think the game is in the best state it's been in since I started playing years ago. Doesn't mean there's no room for improvement though.

Ill stop when the devs stop they are the most us vs them mentally thus form is mostly survivors posts that support survivors talking points are boosted but ones that go against it are downvoted to hell. When in nearly every stream they talk about survivors as I us we and killer as them. You dont like i use it because if I can use the us vs them arguments it dumpsters alot of survivors arguments I play both sides I like both sides but survivor mains are more toxic to everyone even other survivor players while its rare if ever I play into a toxic killer I had one call me an Italian slur because of my name but funny enough I heard it first from a survivors the day before (im not Italian by the way I had to look up what it ment and its not nice to say the least)
Also the reason you dont keep reading is because your identity as a survivor is being threatened so you dont want to look at argument that are against your side. Your doing just as much us vs them when you ignore argument because tou dont want your side hurt or exposed.
Also the game is litteraly built on us vs them its an asim its cant get more clear cut us vs them. And the devs feed into it showing they are on the survivors side with how they talk. So when they devs stop ill stop.
Again, you're the one on here every day posting about your struggles to compete and what the devs should do to make your games easier. That speaks for itself.
People who are skilled at something don't consistently have bad results. Hope your games get better for you.

reducing the time to do somthing is not the same as having entire better perks added base kit. when will you survivor main learn that the game is survivor sided your just bad. also want to talk about not remembering, remember how apparently killers didnt like being handheld because im sorry thats a bold face lie survivors didnt like killers getting stuff like them. this game is every us vs them because the devs treat killers as the them look how they treat pallet density a massive buff to survivors as a quality of life change and how they use kill switchs on killerin nano second but leave or straight up tell survivors how to abuse perks like with the infinite items.
"when will you survivor main"
Yeah, this is where i stop reading. If you can't be objective then there's no point. I'm just talking to a brick wall at this point. You can call people x-mains or low MMR or whatever other term to minimise their point, but it doesn't change the fact that both survivors and killers have received balance changes. It's happened. You'll just have to cope with that knowledge.
And no, you're not high MMR lol we've all heard that a million times on here. You can talk about our skill but we aren't the ones on here every day complaining about how bad we have it in the game. Sounds like you're the one struggling to compete. I'm actually doing fine.

Gen kick regression, removal of gen taps, 90s second gens, bloodlust, nerfed infinites, nerfed main buildings, nerfed map sizes. Since apparently every feature added to the game is a perk. The amnesia about what your favorite side also receives is truly remarkable.
Also nerfed the distance survivors got upon getting hit, and kick times (walls, pallets, gens) were also reduced. This community does have selective memory.

you cant nessecarily control what makes you feel anxious even if your not taking it seriously. You really shouldnt dismiss peoples anxiety but "just dont do x if you feel that way" as it doesnt actually solve anything other than saying dont do something you like doing.
"you cant nessecarily control what makes you feel anxious"
This is absolutely correct. It's also why expecting a bunch of game developers to fix it doesn't make sense. Anxiety is complex and individual and there are qualified people out there who can help us pick it apart. Considering the nature of DBD, I think a bit of stress or anxiety is normal. If it's causing someone genuine mental health issues then Aven is correct that people need to step back. Because no one involved in this game is qualified to (or even from a legal standpoint, liable to) take responsibility for every individual player's state of mind.

"Your math is too black and white anyway"- Awhhh does someone not like me using logic to determine my argument. But in all realness, for the queues to be low for killer, there has to be around 20 killers to every 80 survivors. Even a slight wait could be shifted if theres 25 killers or 30 killers. The closer it gets to 50:50, the more catastrophic the queues (like the 20 minute queues when jason came out). My math is black and white because its pretty black and white. You need 4 survivors for every killer. So queue times would be incredibly long if there was 45 killer to every 80 survivors instead, sadly thats just maths. Basic at that.
The recent killer queue times stand out because they are an anomaly, not the norm. Killer was always pretty instant in the evening. There was none of this waiting 5 minutes. The time increase is because more people are wanting to play killer. That's literally all it comes down to.

It’s just a game tho. Your loved ones won’t fall ill if you lose. There’s really no need for a frankly rather strange othering of players who don’t care for optimisation.
Idk who this guy even is, and just because he’s a dev doesn’t mean he’s the author of the gospel. He comes across to me as rather insecure, and even a smidge delusional. He immediately assumed “we” scrubs have an agenda. It would serve him well to go out in nature and count the anount of ducks on the local pond.
I was actually embarrassed reading it. He's writing like these people are going to war when their biggest struggle is juggling their controller while trying to eat their chips and dip.

But I think the surv examples of flashlights or bodyblocking are interesting.
Item dodging is an acceptable comparison to killer dodging.
Do you think bodyblocking gets comparably as much hate and demands to be changed by devs as tunneling/slugging?
I feel like blocking has been accepted and peopls play around it ntead of being added to the scrub rules.
Tunnelling is by far the most complained about strategy in this game. It's also probably the most prevalent strategy though, due to the lower risk associated with it compared to other strategies, which could be why.

The scrub mentality is going soo strong in dbd.
- Dont use that character
- Donut use that item/addon
- Dont do that strategy.
Its funny that survivors only sometimes get subjected to on of those and killer to all 3.
The first isn't applicable to survivor. The second, people have said multiple times they lobby dodge flashlights and toolboxes. The third, survivors are told off constantly for bodyblocking, using their perks offensively to help others, sticking to gens etc.

"The problem isn't neccessarily you, it's anyone on the team being tunneled. One person being bad at chase can land the killer an easy win and an instant lose for the other survivors. Even if their match isn't over time-wise, it's over success-wise. I find this much more prevalent on survivor. Killer, I've always got a chance to turn it around. I've won matches where I had one hook by end game. There's no sudden turnaround like that for survivors. Time spent isn't necessarily a measurement of quality. Being trapped in an unwinnable match isn't enjoyable for any length of time."
Id argue sadly thats part of it being a 4v1, it doesn't make it any less of a skill issue on the survivor side. Its annoying and less fun, sure, but its still sadly a skill issue here.
"Every event is complained about. That's all people do here. Lights Out is coming back and I'm excited for a fresher wave of whining. I, too, will throw in my typical 2v8 hate when the time arrives. That's the forum. Take it with a grain of salt. The event still has a line for killer despite it all."- and the game still has a line of survivors so soloqueue (which makes up 48% of survivors) must be fine????? Killer queue's in the events are low, the lowest I've seen in years. 3 mins is the longest I've had to wait as killer in the event, most the time its less than a minute. Surely this shows something in comparable to the usual 5 min minimum killer queue times.
"Pretty much everything in this game is based on luck and RNG. If I load into Fallen Refuge as probably any killer it's gg for the survivors unless theyre all very good. Last time I played that map someone immediately noise spammed and chased me around to die. But if I load into a match as Henry on Trickster's Delusion I'm going to struggle. I'm pretty sure it's like that on purpose, to vary the stress and struggle level of the players and force up and down emotions."- oh i agree, But it didn't used to be. Your example was old 2018-2019 dbd which had like 3-5 different maps (with variations) rather than the 12 we have right now.
"The issue is people not identifying what the problem is, they just say "nerf survivor". What's highly effective against one killer isn't against another. Pallet density is a good example. It doesn't hinder me at all on any of my top 10 most played killers. The M1s I just throw on Fire Up or Brutal. Everyone else is fine. But SB+Vigil on 4 people against my 4.4 main might actually lose me the match, while high mobility instadown killers like Oni and Billy won't even flinch. That's what makes global changes so challenging but people want to oversimplify."——- Agreed, Hence why I mentioned that all killers need to be balanced (not buffed), the S and even A tier killers will need nerfs, the D/C/B tier killers buffed accordingly and survivor buffed so soloqueue isn't as horrendous and then balanced around B/A tier killers. Thats what I want, what that would look like on a killer by killer basis idk, I could spend some time and make a spreadsheet and give an idea of my idea for balances for killers. But buffs to survivors would mostly be focused around communication/info buffs, like (just spitballing) getting a small sound notification where a survivor drops a pallet, kindred basekit, a communication wheel and then some nerfs to killer effeciency tactics like slugging/tunnelling because killers will all be brought up to A tier where they can deal without it. Then we can balance where needed and see if tunneling/slugging is needed against soloqueue with comms/info spread.
"Id argue sadly thats part of it being a 4v1, it doesn't make it any less of a skill issue on the survivor side. Its annoying and less fun, sure, but its still sadly a skill issue here"
It's a matchmaking issue. In a game with a functioning skill-based matchmaking system, there's no excuse for these huge discrepancies. People can, and should, absolutely complain and expect better from a game they put their time and money into. People should be playing with and against people on the same or similar skill level as themselves. The opposite shouldn't be expected or normalised.
And i know the devs are aware that this isn't acceptable, since Peanits has told us in the past that a higher skilled player besting a lower skilled player will result in low or no MMR gains for the winning individual. Yet these discrepancies seem to happen regularly.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/469816/killer-anxiety-lets-talk-about-it
I'd be willing to say that well over 80% of the 'killer anxiety' people are describing is attributed to the desire to win the match, or at least get within reach of it. Despite this, people are subconsciously driven toward playing killers with lower win-potential to sort of justify to themselves that losing the match wasn't their fault, it's the game's fault, because BHVR won't balance the character to be as strong as X, Y, or Z meta killers.
Might be harsh to say it, but if you don't play to win, if you lower your expectations to being a loss in most of your matches, I bet that most of your stress or worries playing killer will fade away. It's definitely easier said than done, because I've caught myself playing for fun and getting caught up in wanting to win half-way through the match. But if you can change your mindset, chances are you won't care whether or not the survivors flashlight save 18 times in a row in the same trial. You won't care that you get Head-On stunned every time you turn a corner to hook a survivor. And you won't care that the Sable player you could've hooked 12 times over is Tea-baggin' it at the exit gate before they escape. I've found that the less I care, the more pleasantly surprised I am when I do win in those matches where it looks like I'm getting hopelessly bullied.
Changing your mental and being in control over your own reason for playing, your own state of mind, is sometimes all you need to not be upset by feeling a lack of control in the game. Because that's why losing frustrates most killers, it doesn't feel like you're in control, the 'power role' of the game. Its also why a lot of the killer matches I have to try-hard in still frustrate me even when I overwhelmingly win. Feeling in control is something you subconsciously chase after when you play killer, and not getting that feeling can crush your mental if you let it.
"Might be harsh to say it, but if you don't play to win, if you lower your expectations to being a loss in most of your matches, I bet that most of your stress or worries playing killer will fade away"
It's not harsh to say, it's honestly the truth. Once you accept that it's just a game and the outcome means nothing, you stop caring. And if someone can't not care, and it's causing them actual stress, then take a break or quit the game. Literally self care.

I'd say it exists for both roles, for sure. As someone that plays both, I get anxious sometimes when queuing survivor.
However, I always feel anxious queuing for killer these days. A lot of this is to do with personal circumstances that have nothing to do with the game making me a bit less emotionally hardy. Like @Nazzzak, I have spent most of my life dealing with generalised anxiety.
Full conjecture, but I think the difference is self-confidence. I think the more self-confident you are, the more likely survivor will stress you out, and vice versa. As killer, knowing I have only my flawed self to rely on means there's no one coming to help if I end up in a lopsided game or just play terribly. Sure, it's just a game, move on. When I'm in a better mental state I can do that, but when anxiety is present, such straight-forward thinking is basically not possible.
If you are confident in your skills, survivor can be much more stressful. You're more worried about other people's mistakes than your own, because you can rely on yourself to make good choices but can't control your the other randoms in the lobby.
For me, survivor is less stressful because someone else might juice for half the game, carrying me to victory. If I'm doing well but my team does bad, well, that just can't be helped and I can do my best to help, but ultimately if I fail to help then at least I'm in the same boat as my teammates, instead of exceeding expectations.
One bad game of killer, and there are four people in the lobby with me reveling in how terrible I'm doing. 99% chance they're actually not, and are just playing the game, avoiding me, maybe feeling proud they managed to outplay me, but anxiety twists normal situations into a dull roar of ideas and emotions that rapidly multiply until you don't really know what it is that's even bothering you anymore. I think that killer requiring more mental energy to pick up once you get into games with competent opponents (not saying it's harder, just can be more taxing with how your decisions are the most impacftful in the lobby) makes people predisposed to anxiety more at risk of being overwhelmed and losing grip on logic. And like you say about helplessness, it sucks. I think for some people it sucks harder if they feel helpless in the one role where they technically never are. It makes failure sting more.
@Nazzzak is right in the harsh truth here. What can the devs honestly do about it? My anxiety for the role only gets restrictively bad when I'm going through a rough patch with my mental health, something entirely external to the game. Shy of having my killer turn around, reach through the screen and tenderly pat my head, telling me it'll all be okay every time I swing and hit window instead of survivor, there is not a solution to that.
"My anxiety for the role only gets restrictively bad when I'm going through a rough patch with my mental health, something entirely external to the game"
And this is such an important point. Because is it the game specifically causing people anxiety, or is something from their personal life that they're bringing into the game with them? Ultimately, the devs aren't our therapists. From @vol4r summary of the video (which i haven't watched) it kind of seems like the original cc was wrapping anxiety around his desire for killer buffs. Anyone who genuinely experiences anxiety would know that isn't a solution. Anxiety is too complex an issue to slap a fix on.

I'm just hoping all the celebrity options were there as filler

I've never heard of survivor anxiety playing that role is super chill and turn your brain off and enjoy. Got 3 other team mates that can help you out in the trails.
Killer anxiety only been getting worse and i don't really know myself how the devs can help curb it as can't trust them with anything as it either breaks or they just make the worst choices possible. Maybe something that can help it a little give killer base kit corrupt intervention or dead lock to help slow gens down a little since getting 2 or 3 gens popped as you get your first down being the worst feeling ever when playing killer. And start issuing real punishments and better clarity for toxic players during end game chat. Seen too many players spew out the worst ######### possible and far as i'm aware absolutely nothing was done to punish them.
Making the game easier for one side isn't a solution, because it just makes the game harder for the other side. It'll also likely lead to nerfs elsewhere to compensate and the end result is that everyone is unhappy. But yes, cracking down on post-game chat nastiness would be a good change.
-
"it's most definitely there responsibility to fix the problem. If your game is actively giving one side a real form of anxiety there needs to be some form of change"
What ideas do you have? As someone who suffers with generalised anxiety disorder and panic disorder, it took me a lot of years to develop coping mechanisms that allowed me to take my life back. I genuinely can't see how a bunch of game developers can manage, or be expected to manage, the emotional state of thousands of players.
-
I think they probably did mistype one of the numbers. Probably the heal quest tbh, I reckon it should have been much higher. They'd have all the stats and know the numbers.

They've said before that low MMR and high MMR are a small percentage of the playerbase. Mid MMR holds most of us, so yeah, pretty much is "everyone else after a certain point"
-
I don't stress at all (honestly, i wouldn't play if i did as I have GAD and panic disorder irl). I'm very switched on while playing killer, but never stressed.
Best advice i can give is to learn coping mechanisms (eg deep slow breathing (plenty of guided meditations you can find online to help learn this), an elastic band around your wrist to snap on occasion while playing (distracts your brain)), but ultimately i think actually understanding that the match and outcome have zero impact on your life, and these people you're playing with don't know you from a bar of soap and will forget about you by the time their next match loads up. It really is insignificant, not worth the physical stress you are feeling. It's easy to say that but actually understanding it can take time. I'd start by changing your mindset regarding how your opponents view you (ie their "enemy") because chances are they're not thinking that hard about you at all. You're just a faceless person they're in a match with, it's not any deeper than that.
-
To be fair, the community often gives mixed messaging when it comes to tunnelling. Just as many people would prefer team mates smash gens rather than follow them around when being tunnelled. I know if I'm being tunnelled, I would rather my team mates get as much gen progress as possible to make the most of the time I'm buying.

Night light sense behavior doesnt want to show stats because if they did we could actually call them out on stuff.
Nightlight is a very small sample size of English speaking players (ie it doesn't include a big percentage of the playerbase). It's also voluntary information, so people can pick and choose which games they upload.
Basically, it's not accurate at all.

Now do it again with casual players, I never want to see this game balanced around the comp scene personally.
I want to see the stats there, also it's not really "lawless" if we are banning killers and preventing repeat killers, is it. Not to mention map rng and the like can vastly impact a match for survivor, it's very different if it is predetermined.
It's somewhat useless data as it doesn't apply to you average DBD match at all, most of the playerbase is way more casual.Comp players themselves have said this game should never be balanced around them too. It'll never happen

Best counter to Jason is simply don't play survivor. At least not until the number of Jason's calm down a bit

The thing is I don't care about this perk at all. I didn't care about Fast Track either but I still argued against the nerf because I think this community has a pattern of getting caught up in a tornado of echo chambers and hyperbolic parasocial panicking. We doom and gloom about every little new thing while also saying the meta is stale. The meta isn't going to be changed by nerfing literally anything that comes along. Even fog vials, which were mid on release but still had the potential to change things, we're nuked because of whining. People always say they want change but they clearly don't because they won't allow it to even occur.
Now i havnt used it as a survivor yet, so im open to having my mind changed whether through using it or engaging with it as a killer, but it sure seems scary and the encounter i do know i had with it was not fun.
You're basing this on a single experience? Maybe it should be a bit more than that. If I was going to rail for against a perk, I'd test it thoroughly in customs or on pubs. It's one reason I'm not very passionate about this (Fast Track i at least played with and against a lot). CE is so far a non-entity and will be even more so after the nerf. We're arguing about a perk that's already doomed.
But again, what your describing is already in the game. If I hit someone with Lucky Break and they disappear around a corner, my chase is over. They're rewarded for me landing a hit. I am that Lucky Break user, and I escape about 90% of my first chases before the killer realizes I'm running it and smarten up. There's another point too. If this perk became common killers would get used to spotting it and adjust quickly. We have this same issue recently with the Black Banquet. Everyone knee-jerked about how bad it was immediatly and didn't wait to figure out how to work around the survivor effects.
I don't think 4.4 on ranged killers should change but yeah, it doesn't feel great in the moment a lot of the time. My problem is the SBers. Huntress does at least have the ability to get crazy crossmap shots with skilled players. I main Henry and if they pre run with SB to the other side of the map when I don't have undergate available I just can't even be bothered to slowly float after them. I'm not trying to complain about my A tier killer who I do fine with stats-wise but I get the idea of the micro not feeling good even if the macro results are solid.

the part of the perk people were saying was problematic got canned, this is not an example of alarmism and if the original version went live it would have been game breaking
"Game breaking" according to which alarmist content creator? Because it hasn't been canned yet, that's not happening until a later hotfix if you bothered to read the patch notes. So the "game breaking" perk is currently live and... barely anyone is using it. If it were game breaking then everyone and their mother would be getting the most out it right now. That's not happening.

It's going to be exactly like the Fnaf, Mario, and Minecraft movies. Just fanservice trying to be funny and quirky to cover up the complete lack of any cohesive plot, character writing, or passion. Genuinely my least favorite kind of movie.
For sure. My hope is that it's lore heavy, and not just following 4 survivors around as they work out to escape trials

I enjoy the event as killer, I'm sure there are many who do. I've only played a few survivor games through pwyw purely because I'm all Jason'd out.

Am I the only one who really disliked Tryks? Like she was so annoying 😭
I'm fine with them switching up the theming of the events, but this one was executed horribly.
Couldn't stand her lol

If you consider all the factors, like swf, maps, perks, etc etc, then you'll be forever going back and forth on killer or survivor. I'm a simple creature though, and overall I win more on killer and lose more on survivor. And official stats seem to indicate that's pretty consistent across the playerbase. So for that reason I say the game is killer sided.
It'd be nice if one day we get a barebones mode, where there's no perks or items or add-ons. Just make it as basekit as possible. I do anticipate killer would overall come out on top in such a mode (stronger killers would compensate for weaker), but I'd love to see.

Killstreaks are a SBMM issue and I'll die on that hill

I honestly didn't know that so I will take your word, the only reason I made that statement is that I have heard it a lot and the survivors in events in my experience are much worse than normal queues

Killer queue times have been quite long in a number of regions, and the game will sometimes prioritise queue times over matchmaking accuracy in order to get people into games quicker. Which could explain why it sometimes feels like there's no SBMM.

Events don't have MMR, and are the survivors good or were they running into walls and looping the air like 90% of survivors do.
Events do have SBMM for the purposes of matchmaking, you just don't gain or lose MMR during it.
