Course not. I've had killers farm before after DCs or when half the team is gone at 5 gens, and then kill the rest of us after we've all gotten some decent bp. You might miss out on 7k escape points but you get plenty regardless, plus a double pip.
-
Yeah I don't want FNAF personally. I know plenty of adults play it, but my first introduction to the game was my then-6 year old daughter. She loves the games and has the books and toys. So my first impression was of a scary kids game, and it's just kind of stuck.
-
Yeah I'm still waiting too. I have the game on PS5 as well but I can't bring myself to play it when I have everything on the Switch. I don't even care about the licensed DLCs at this stage, if that's the hold up. If I can connect everything else for the time being then I'd be happy.

Yeah.. it's so bizarre to defend a situation so badly and try to 'explain' the situation to someone who was in the game, and trying so weirdly to get me to post a video as a 'gotcha' moment lol..
It's completely bizarre. People post their experiences here everyday and don't get interrogated and gaslighted about what happened in their own games. Lots of us survivors are getting these games, don't worry. It's good to share your experience as feedback.
-
I had a match earlier like that. It was so much fun.
-
I don't mind having a meme around, I had a hilarious game earlier with a Trapper, another solo, and a duo. But I have to agree on the mori. Nothing about a mori says the killer wants to meme around. Neither do your perks. Just another survivor perspective here. I would assume an easy kill trap. Usually messing around also means letting the killer kick our gens and down and hook us twice, which your perks would be majorly counterproductive for. Not to mention annoying lol
-
The devs make changes based on data. Any changes to Blight will come from that. People who main particular killers, as in playing them consistently over long periods of time, will master that killer. Blight absolutely is one of the stronger killers, and I agree his adds on need looking at, but imo there should always be a range of killers with varying degrees of difficulties and varied learning curves. If someone puts in the time to master a killer - regardless of their 'moral compass' - then yeah they're gonna win a lot of matches.
-
Yeah I didn't get my survivor incentive this morning. Think they're bugged again.

I haven't seen a killer's aura at all, regardless of who has Kindred. My killers can't see anyone with Deer Stalker either.
Same. Plenty of team mates have been hooked with Kindred, and I have it too, and I haven't seen any killer auras at all. It's been a staple in my build for 2 years, I guess I get to experience the game without it for a couple weeks. They still haven't fixed it from earlier in the year anyway, where the big black circle that pops up when a survivor is hooked covers the killers aura. So it's been half bugged anyway.

I feel like they need to make a separate game mode when it comes to events. You want to play normal/sweaty games can play the normal game mode, otherwise there's a separate event mode that isn't the normal game that you can earn event stuff in. This way players that want to goof off and have fun have the event and those that don't have the normal game mode.
It's been mentioned a few times about maybe having competitive vs casual modes, but others have mentioned that alot of the time sweaty players will take advantage of easy kills/escapes. So chances of sweaty players sticking to competitive mode is slim. Most will still come over to casual because they don't want to play against people with their same energy
-
I never get matched with these teams who apparently pop all gens in a few minutes. That's not my experience at all.
-
I've only had two games so far but they've been fine. A Legion and a Pig, neither were toxic
-
Oh no Mikaela? That's disappointing, I was looking forward to getting hers this year

Yeah, this is basically taking the game hostage at this point. If a Killer refuses to chase Survivors and just prolongs the game to protect their 3-Gen, there is nothing else that can be said.
But people here argue that the Killer is just doing their objective, which is not even true. Because the Objective is to kill all Survivors and not to prolong the game until eternity.
I had two Killers like that recently. A Wraith who had a 3-Gen on Haddonfield (Strode House inside, Strode House in front, Gen next to the Playground right beside the Strode House). And a Pinhead who had a 3-Gen right from the start on RPD (2 Gens in the Main Hall, one Gen very close to it). In both games I just suicided at some point, because there is nothing you can do as Survivor if the Killer refuses to play the game.
But I should not have to suicide to get out of a game because the Killer does not want to do their Objective.
My last 4 games the killers have done this strat from the start. Wraith, Plague, Doctor (he got lucky with Azarovs too), and a Knight. I'm guessing my fellow (presumably) solo team mates in the Knight game had been seeing this strat alot too, because we all just attacked the 3 gen as soon as we realized. We managed to get a gen and the Knight DC'd. It's crazy that it was a Knight too because you'd think he could defend the 3 gen better than any other. Probably why he DC'd actually.
-
I literally saw this type of play in the past maybe a handful of times, but it's been non-stop this week. They don't leave their little area at all.
-
I'm so annoyed by this, especially as i planned to play alot this holiday event. They still haven't fixed the previous Kindred bug either, where that big black circle that pops up after a hook blocks the killers aura. It's been like that for several months.

soloQ is unplayable just about, Escape maybe 1 every 20 matches. Most people give up if they are either first down, or a killer they don't like, usually nurses, bubbas, or pinheads. Gen kick meta is unbearable. There is nothing more demoralizing than going back to gen that was at 90% and its almost back to 0. Total waste of life. Then B HVR breaks stuff like Kindred, kicking soloQ while its down. Really does not look good for future of this game.
I just saw Kindred is broken! Right when we are about to start the holiday event. Massively bummed about that.

It's interesting, when I play survivor it feels like I can never find pallets or windows when I need them. When I play killer, it does feel like there's a pallet or window everywhere I look. Your post feels like a bait post. It doesn't feel like a survivor perspective tbh.
-
I can't speak for everyone, but I feel more pressure in games now as a solo survivor that I barely stop to do totems or anything other than gens and unhooks. If I leave my gen for too long or let myself get distracted, chances are it'll regress to nothing with all the gen slowdown perks. So i have to commit, and other players probably feel the same too. Killers and survivors are just kind of in this cycle now where we are just feeding into each other's misery.

Every time I've seen it, it turns into a boring slog of a game where the killer desperately defends three generators like there is a bomb planted in their necks that'll go off if the gates get powered.
Eruption can take a long walk on a short plank
Yup. Had a Wraith set up a 3 gen from the get go and use Eruption and all the other goodies. I found a commodius toolbox and hit a gen with another person, who ran when killer came, but I stuck on the gen forcing him to grab me off. He hesitated because he wanted to kick it but couldn't cos he grabbed me, and thankfully decided hooking me was the best option. Due to the toolbox the gen was almost done, and the other survivor finished it while he hooked me. Killer only got 1k because the 4th survivor had bought a hatch offering and he beat them to it.
All that to say, it was a long boring game

I think BHVR don't want to fall into a power creep where they can only design increasingly powerful killers.
It's okay to design lower tier killers as well, or killers that are really hard to master. People who like them will play them, people who don't won't.
(I like to imagine the outrage if they had released Hag in this age and meta... Would probably be entertaining!)
Plus, with the base kit QoL buffs killers received, and might receive in the future now that overhauls like 6.1. are a thing, BHVR is free to experiment on new concepts that might not be immediately at their best.
This. We also hear so much about killer mains (and likewise survivor mains), where people tend to master and stick with one killer. I've played against some really good Knight players that used their guardians *perfectly*. Those sorts of players will stick with Knight, others will go back to their mains, and others will just play casually. Any of those are fine. Killers have Easy, Moderate, and Hard classifications, which tells us there's supposed to be a degree of learning with different killers.

I still don't understand the over hype for this perk. I see people go "OMG it's so strong!" So I try to run it, it's useless - as expected. I play survivor, and when Killers have it some of the time I don't even know it's there and when I do I just let go of the gen when they go and down someone. I know shocking.
How do you know when they're about to down someone?

The amount of piggies that don't want their snoot booped anymore makes me sad.
I've been playing for 2 years and never met a single one that allowed boops. Granted, I didn't try every single Pig I came across, just the ones that seemed to play a bit chill but no luck
-
I've been playing for 2 years and am overall happy. I got the game for 50% off and haven't put alot of money into it during that time (few DLCs when on sale, plus some cosmetics for my main), so I've definitely gotten my monies worth as far as I'm concerned. I haven't been playing as long as alot of other people have, but the game has still gone through its share of changes since i started. Some changes I agreed with, some I didn't, but nothing that's really prevented me from playing whenever I feel like it or ever given me a desire to quit. Certainly not seasonal cosmetics at any rate. So my review would still be positive.

I think prior to the bloodweb update it was estimated at like 1.6m for 1 prestige? The bloodweb price update dropped prices by 33% so if we estimate 1m per prestige then maybe 100m? Maths isn't my strong point though haha I could be way off

the eternal question that raises is how various pyjama costumes become christmas themed
Dunno, but if you read the pyjama descriptions they refer to the holidays (eg Yun-Jins pyjamas were worn for a holiday theme photoshoot, and Feng's was worn for a cozy night indoors over the holidays). I guess they figured if they were going to stick to the holiday/seasonal theme they needed to include *all* outfits released for said holiday

You and others mention the pandemic as a cause for the drop in players, nut I am not buying that either. Many games have managed grow their player bases and maintain those numbers even though life has returned to normal. There are a more that a few examples of this but DayZ and War Thunder have the most comparable numbers.
Look at Stardew Valley! That game is nipping at DbD's heels! DbD, the viral horror asymmetrical phenomenon itself, might get surpassed in amount of players on Steam by a 2D Harvest Moon remake developed by one man.
Okay, well if we exclude the pandemic from the equation, what do you think was the cause behind the sudden increase in players in March 2020, that carried on up until recently? If we are going to look at what's caused a drop in steam players in recent months it might be worth looking at what drew them in to begin with and what then changed? I personally feel like Deathslinger is just okay and not really a massive draw, but happy to be proven wrong

They wait a month or two for the changes to hit so everyone has bought the character by then*
Then nerf / buff to make way for the next set of meta products. If it doesn't sell well enough? Buff it to the moon. See trickster for details
Considering most of the word of mouth around Knight (and before Knight, it was Sadako) is negative, I can't imagine that's helping sales too much
-
Looking at this from a different perspective - BHVR, like other companies, are about making money. To date, they have had these older cosmetics readily available to make money from all year around. Yet they've still decided to make them seasonal only. Any chance that their data shows that the only time anyone really purchases these Christmas themed cosmetics is during the Christmas month? So rather than clutter the store with cosmetics that don't sell for 11 months of the year, they've simply decided to make them special and exclusive to that one month where they actually sell anyway?
-
You mention the high plateau that started March 2020, which coincides really with the start of the pandemic. Lots of businesses closed, people staying home. Life has now, in 2022, more or less started returning to normal. Less time to play video games I'd imagine overall.
-
They wait a few months after the release of new killers to observe their data. It's something they've said many times previously. Some killers have higher learning curves than others, so a few months gives players time to actually learn to play the killer so the devs can properly observe whether said killer actually need changes and where.

she is bad though. killrates dont mean #########, nurse has the lowest but does that make her bad?
Nurse killrates are likely brought down by new players/players trying her for the first time then abandoning her, because she has a high learning curve. Also she cops alot of DCs, which we know gets discounted in the data. What reasons would Sadako have for her high killrate other than maybe she's an efficient, and not so difficult to learn, killer?
-
I hate the colour and theme tbh. That said, I like the maps being so vastly different from each other so I'm happy to put up with it. I used to hate the atmosphere of Hawkins, but now that it's gone I miss it because it was just something different.
-
I get it's usefulness but overall it seems like a big risk for little reward. I feel like most players with the right frame of mind to make actual use of it, are probably the sort of players who are conscious of 3 gen situations anyway. But ensuring that the killer won't get a hit on you to delete your stacks, combined with gen regression perks, I feel there's a fast potential for a killer to just eliminate anything you get from using the perk. Probably useful in well coordinated swfs though.

Why they can't?
Because updating every single person that makes a report takes time. Time that is better spent going through other reports.

Yes and No, yes it is true that it encorages that playstyle if this is introduced, but it would be very risky because right now, when a killer is against the bully squad the killer will win in the long run because nobody is doing gens all want the killer attention, so they mess around drop pallets to stun the killer, so, after a while when they try to head on the killer, they have nowhere to run because they created a dead zone by dropping those pallets and that what make them lose the game.
Ofc it would need to balance the amount you get from the stuns and the amount you need for each map, like for example, the game, in that map would count less the pallet stuns
It would all depend on balance, balancing the numbers, like pallet save or flashlight save gives more points than just head on and power struggle stun
Yeah, at the moment bully squads usually throw the game. But if they were to get energy from their stuns to power the gate, then it'd be like having your cake and eating it too
-
Sounds a bit like rewarding bully squads tbh. The new meta would revolve around Head On, Blastmine, Power Struggle, & Flip Flop..

I've done karate since I was, like, 7. My karate instructor, in the time that I've known him, has gotten married and had kids, two of whom have pretty severe autism, and a trait they both share are that they have very, very poor impulse control (one kid once swore in front of his entire class because he just couldn't contain his excitement and the first impulse was to scream ######### YES at the top of his lungs, absolutely pissing myself when I heard this story). One of them is now in their teens, has a part time job while going through secondary school, and is about to start college next year (couldn't be prouder of him). He's at the stage in his life where he's responsible for most of his own money (parents keep half just to make sure that he doesn't spend everything he has, which is reasonable), and I've been told that he's not allowed anywhere near gatcha games, fortnite, or any other game that capitalises on FOMO because of that poor impulse control, that they've been working on for over a decade with him on literally since he was born. That poor impulse control that he's doing his best with but just can't get on top of.
Is he weak minded, would you say, because of this? If his parents weren't as good at monitoring what he does online, and he'd fallen into issues because of FOMO tactics, would you still call him entitled, or even his parents, for thinking that these marketing tactics are absolute scum?
Just so I know where you stand on this issue, truly. Because he's an incredibly strong person, to have battled through what life dealt him and be sitting higher tier papers when even getting into class is an effort for him each day.
That's not him being weak minded, that's him being vulnerable, and that's why this tactic is so predatory. Because it literally preys upon people like him who haven't had parents like he's got. And if you'd still call him weak, then I dread the day one of your kids comes to you with a mental health issue.
What his parents have done and instilled in him, in recognition of his impulse control issues, is a great coping strategy. They recognised that these sorts of marketing tactics are common in online games, so they (and he) make the conscious decision to avoid them. I would urge anyone who has such strong issues to employ the same sort of strategy and start cutting back on this game, and others, if they are finding it is affecting them negatively.
I have severe GAD and panic disorder, was first diagnosed with the former at age 11 after a traumatic childhood, and years of therapy have taught me that the only one who can manage my issues is me. The world will never change for me. It doesn't care when people fall through the cracks, sadly. I also do as your friend's son does though, and things that are triggering for my anxiety are treated with avoidance. For example, I find the news triggering, so I don't watch or follow any sort of news station, and I block them when they show up in my newsfeed. My hubby will listen to the news in the car on the way to work, because he can't watch it in our home. It's my coping strategy.
-
I have zero expectations when I play. That's how I play killer so chill. If I get absolutely steamrolled, oh well!
-
No way. I honestly would quit if this big a change was made. I'm not a good looper, and barely decent in chase despite 2 years of trying to get better. I play on the Switch and the joycons and camera are terrible. For the limited time i can hold chase, I sometimes rely strongly on every glimpse of red stain i get. I'm pretty sure that's the point of the red strain actually.
-
I wish we had hot cross buns all year around in Australia. They used to only come out in the lead up to Easter, then they started bringing them out after new year. A bunch of people were complaining but I saw it as a total win. I usually stock the freezer up before they go away

A few is a fancy way of say majority. Seems like most of us here are displeased with this with only a couple people supporting it.
There's also those of us not supporting it nor being upset about it. We are neutral and unbothered because we dont care about cosmetics. Just thought I'd bring some recognition to the third group!

I'll be grabbing Mikaela and Yun-Jins for sure. I really like those two.

Chances are they don't really have anything exciting going on in real life. Hence why something that sounds horrifically boring to most people is pure entertainment to them

I had a game earlier where I had to start the same gen over and over, so I get the frustration. I personally just don’t care about winning anymore. So long as I have fun in chases against the killer and get BP I’m having fun
But solo queue needs changes desperately for the people who want to win more consistently. I play pinhead and it’s so obvious when I destroy a team that they are solo players
I'm gonna guess the solo teams are the ones constantly getting caught up in chain hunts because 3/4 of them refuse to get the box? Lol I can't remember the last time I escaped against a Pinhead. I'm literally always the one having to get the box.
