I don't think there's any blame here. They had a strategy, you adapted to it, and you came out on top.
-
It'd be nice to maybe have 5 slots or so in which to add blocked players to. So not a large or unlimited number to prevent people abusing it.
-
I'd be happy with just basekit kindred, as a solo player. I feel kindred is a necessary perk to play solo, and I've literally never taken it off in the 2 years I've been playing. Team mates are just too unpredictable. It'd be great to be able to play around with builds and other perks without feeling like I'm setting myself up for failure.
To add - I'd be totally fine with basekit kindred only showing survivors auras, and keeping the killers aura a perk exclusive. Though to be at the level of swf, it probably should show both (since swf can communicate where the killer is, if camping, etc) but I'm not gonna be picky.

they said this YEARS ago
There are many things throughout the years that theyve said they wont do, and then had a change of heart
Exactly. And it's probably why they won't give a clear answer on questions like the OPs. Because if things change in a couple years, people will refer back to what they originally said
-
To be honest, they probably don't even know and just play it by ear
-
It was originally B but it seems to have changed to A over time. Probably in part due to newer streamers, who I notice tend to use it to show impatience
-
I regret picking Set A too as it means more Dredge players come the winter event. Set B would have meant more Billy, which would have been preferable. Trickster is sadly in both sets so I can't escape him.
-
It's the only decent new survivor perk imo, and if i buy the new survivor it'll be for that. And even then I wouldn't be using it much because I usually only hit great skill checks by accident. But I wouldn't mind trying it. If there's a cooldown then I won't buy it because I don't think it'll be worth it.

Had a game the other night with two people dead at 5 gens, it was nearing midnight and I absolutely did not intend to be playing for that long and was tired. So I'm half-assing it now, get downed and the killer leaves me slugged. I recover and the other survivor picks me up and I park myself on a gen while he runs off. Let myself get grabbed off the gen, thinking well now I'll get hooked. NOPE. Dropped and the killer runs off. I didn't recover, just lay there shaking myself at the other survivor slowly coming to me, but he keeps coming back insistent on healing me. Let him have his way, jump on gen again and get grabbed off. Killer drops me again. I'm legit yelling at both of them on the screen to let me bloody go.
It was frustrating as heck. No gens had been done, the killer had absolutely won. The other survivor and I weren't gonna both survive and he wasn't even going on gens, he was just picking me up and when I'd get downed I'd see him crouched hiding. It was so tiring.
-
It really is underrated, I use it on occasion. I've had games where the killer has returned to hook after I've been unhooked and is completely unaware that I'm just on the other side of the wall healing with a medkit.
It's also a crazy combo with Overcome, Lucky Break, and a medkit. It actually made losing the killer so easy I had to stop using it because the game was getting boring.
-
I remember being on hook and the three troll team-mates I had who sandbagged me, were all rapid tbagging in the exit gate area because they weren't gonna unhook me. They left just as I ran out of struggle but I still got the challenge completed in that split second so I was smiling. My first game after selecting the challenge

Funny how we are willing to make changes that drastically nerf survivors but the community is unwilling to make changes that have any impact at all on killers. Regression gaming takes zero skill, it needs to be addressed at some point.
Honestly, the gen slowdowns phase me less than the abundance of killer aura perks and the fact that we only really have Distortion to counter it (which i hate using because it feels like you're selling your team out). Iron Will got nerfed into uselessness so killers have survivor sounds to track, not to mention the usual scratch marks. The new Nowhere to Hide perk will be great for gen slowdown too because those on death hook or those playing stealthy will now have more reason to avoid gens and not take risks.

yeah, the game feels pretty miserable atm. i'm getting sick of going against the same boring gen regression perks and playstyles and feeling like i have to use those perks and playstyles to not have short killer games. really only playing for the archives at this point
also good god i am sick of map offerings. every game it's always a coldwind or garden of joy or eyrie or something and it just gets so goddamn grating
For me it's the RPD offerings. Seems someone is constantly bringing them and I'm at a complete loss as to why... it makes me kind of miss the days where someone would bring it and the killer or another survivor would DC in the loading menu.

Burn out is normal. I've been playing for a couple years and I've had periods of time where i don't play because I've just had enough. I'll probably have a few weeks like this in the lead up to the festive event. I actually missed last year's festive event because I was burned out, but hoping to catch it this time.

TBH i've never seen the bad manners in "tea-bagging" , survivors have a limited means to emote , to me it appears to mean hello / goodbye / excitement & thanks , never seen the difference between survivors doing it at the start to each other , or after being healed, to doing it before they leave the match . When I see it at the gate i ,generally, take it as a "thanks for the fun , cyas"
Most do it as BM. You are correct though that it's one of only a few means of communicating, but there's really two ways most players use it - rapid tbags, or one slow crouch while facing the killer. The latter is usually a 'thank you' tbag.
I had a game tonight where the killer alternated between two survivors, no matter how much me and another survivor tried to bodyblock and take aggro. Killer just ignored us. End result was 2 dead and 3 gens to go. I finally get first hooked and decide to let go because the game is lost, and I see the 4th survivor's aura slink into basement and start giving some slow tbags while facing my direction as I died. I still have no idea whether they were thanking me for giving them a shot at hatch, or saying 'f*** you, die' lol

However, you do have an influence over how players play.
One thing i havn´t figured out yet is this: 2 survivors are left, 1 or 2 gens left to do. I usually lose this, because i try to do a gen, while the other guy hides. So to survive, it would be far better to hide too. However, if both player hide, its holding the game hostage, and a bannable offence.
So basicly the other guy is doing something that is bannable, but only if i do the same, and then its bannable for both. But if i try to hide and dont know if the other guy does the same, why is me being banned reliable on the action of another player?
Maybe i got this wrong, and you can clarify this scenario for me.
In those sorts of scenarios - 2 survivors and multiple gens left - I will always sit on a gen, even when the other person hides. It means my likely death but i dgaf at that point, as I consider myself dying while being the better (wo)man. Like okay, you can have hatch but just know you didnt necessarily deserve it. I'm not sure if my MMR has gone up recently or if people have had a change of attitude, but I'm finding more and more the other survivor will join me on my gen and it's pretty much equal opportunity lol
-
They're not trying to push solo to play in swf, imo. You have a higher chance of escaping in a swf, according to the devs (last time they addressed it they said up to 15% higher chance of survival - but that was before the big meta overhaul, which arguably affected solo much more than it did swf), but simultaneously they wanted higher kill rates. Solo queue survivor can be a bad MMR time because solo players are the ones who make up the increase in kills, and I personally believe that was the devs intent.
I try to be optimistic about quality of life changes to the solo experience but now that kill rates are at a level the devs are happy with, I can't see them coming. At least not anytime soon.
-
Whenever I see BM from survivors or killers I just remind myself that kids play this game. It's the simpler explanation
-
I'm like this. I'll play to the death if I'm in the mood. It's a game at the end of the day, escaping or dying, whatever.

aswell as probably hearing grown up men screaming at you for not playing the exact way they think you should. Voice chat would be horrible in this game.
Not even grown men - kids play this game too

I was looking at the Cheryl and Feng outfits closely, and I noticed that the shoulder things are actually completely different. I think Feng's are actually unattached shoulder pieces while Cheryl's are attached to the outfit. Sounds like there's some noticeable differences between the two.
Feng is cosplaying the Silent Hill 3 suit, with its bad PS2 graphics. Cheryl's DBD version is what it would look like in real life.

I'm not a lone wolf - and i dont believe lone wolf = hiding and doing nothing fwiw - but I used to play completely altruistically/team-based until more recently. Too many bad team mates now. I'll still die for the good ones though. I don't see BHVR as promoting some sort of selfish play, just acknowledging that it exists and that it's okay. There are dailies and challenges that also encourage lone wolf play.

If it's not LeaksbyDaylight, which is stated to be Bhvr themselves (theoratically), I'd be cautously optimistic about that.
LeaksByDaylight aren't legit. They copy their genuine leaks from DBDLeaks, and the rest of their "leaks" are made up clickbait
-
Feng's running her own fashion show out there in the fog
-
I used to always give the one last hit but I've seen heaps of killers say they'd rather we just leave so I just leave immediately now
-
I enjoyed it. I didn't even really have to actively search out the voids, they'd generally pop up in my vicinity at one point or another during the course of the games. So it wasn't like some big distraction that would potentially cause people to throw the game. I thought it worked well, they did a good job
-
I'm not getting any of these people. I haven't noticed a difference in DCing at all. I rarely get team mates doing that. Last time was a few weeks ago and I've been playing a fair bit.
-
I personally dont have an issue with it at all. I got this game for 50% off in the Switch store 2 years ago, and the fact that it has provided me with 2 years of entertainment (including constant events and updates and fixes) is money well spent. I don't buy every DLC (last one I bought was Sadako) and skin purchases happen once in a blue moon, they're completely voluntary and I'll buy what I like. Rarity etc doesn't phase me. I suppose it all comes down to completionist attitudes. If you feel you *have* to have it all, well it can add up to a lot of money. But I haven't spent enough in two years to consistently pay any of the devs power bills so I imagine someone has to?

I kid you not the very next game. These games followed a game where i got the chance to play with a good swf against a competent wraith that I double pipped on. Very good game. All progress taken away because people dc. Horrible system
Not excusing them, but I noticed both you and the killer have bad ping. I've had a couple games lately where it's been near impossible for me to play because the killer or a teammate have bad ping. I went down in like 2 seconds every chase with a Wesker the other night, where I'd try run through a doorway, for instance, and a second later my game jumps and my character is running into a corner and going down. It could be that they simply couldn't play.
-
That's cool. If I'm playing as Dwight or Jane more come next Halloween then I'd consider buying them.
-
I did it with Blastmine. After killer hooked someone I'd purposely miss a skill check on my gen, plant my Blastmine, then wander off.

That new perk that shows surv close to the gen being kicked, i am scared.
Yeah, I really dislike that one. We either run and leave scratch marks or hide nearby and get found immediately. I know there's a trend towards gen perks for survivors, but the trend towards aura perks for killers kinda sucks too. They have scratch marks and survivor noises (especially after IW nerf, there's no way to hide it) and now auras everywhere.

Dead by Daylight playerbase has dramatically changed in the last 2 years. I am not sure if that's because of "crossplay" as some say... but back in 2018... it was more to say "fun to communicate with others around the game".
There may be reasons and reasons but anyone who has played DbD for 6 years, may understand what I mean.
Make sure to report those players, anyhow.
I think it's just modern attitudes towards gaming in general. These days there are more and more people spending all their free time indoors playing games, and it becomes their life and only outlet.
If people are finding they're behaving more aggressive online towards other people then they need to set time aside for the gym or go for a run or something. Let that pent up energy out. There needs to be a healthy balance.

Getting some Witcher vibes from Vittorio

Oh wow. I've had only one person DC in the last 3 or so weeks - and I've been playing pretty much every night. I've been wondering if it's a regional thing, like maybe gaming is taken more seriously in some places than others, so those folk tend to take getting downed first more personally? It must be something
-
Nah. I get what you mean regarding it being unfair for the other 2, but when I play I'm the one who falls into the other 2 category and I still say nah. I'm used to randoms throwing games, whether it's for challenges or dailies or they're just bored. If a duo want to mess around then I'm at the point where it's just whatever. I'd rather people have fun than take the game too seriously
-
I spend mine as soon as I hit 500k so I don't have to slog through it later
-
I had a game last night where there were 2 of us left on death hook with two dead, still at 5 gens. This killer was way beyond our level of experience. I'd played for way too many games, i needed to go to sleep, so I was just trying to get hooked but the killer kept slugging me and the other survivor kept picking me up. I tried sitting on a gen so the killer would grab me and hook me, but they'd just dump me on the ground and keep looking for the 4th. I'm anti-DC but omg it was painful. We had lost, at 5 gens, so just hook me. I just wanted to go to bed.
-
Myers 100%
Also Hag if it's the start of the game and I don't yet know it's Hag. I'll run over a trap and s*** myself
-
Yup, frequently. If there's 2 of us left and no way we are both getting out then I'm happy to go down to give them a shot at hatch or escape. Usually by that point I've played enough of the game that I can walk away with a pip and decent bp.
-
Prestige can be hit n miss. In general I would assume that someone that high would be a pretty experienced player - that's alot of games/bp to invest.
On the flipside, I've played with players with very high prestige and some were pretty average. A few DC'd or let go on hook. A few intentionally sandbagged or were just outright trolling. It's a mixed bag really lol
-
Sometimes. Had one game last night as survivor that was literally unplayable whenever the killer came near me. It was jumping all over the place and I was getting downed in like 2 seconds because I'd suddenly jump into a wall or corner instead of going through a doorway. I don't think I'd ever had it that bad before, I think the killer was playing from space.
-
Yes! First time since the incentives released, I saw 100% Killer last night around 9.30pm. It was back to 100% Survivor after my game but it was definitely there for a few minutes at least. It was the first time I've ever seen a bonus on killer. Nice to know my game hasn't been bugged all this time
-
Are good players not supposed to lose every now and then?
-
Easier than putting the effort into learning her I guess

I've had this too. My camera is still moving around as I load in and my team mates are already crouch-greeting everyone and running off.

I've been really disappointed with the incentives this month, first with the bug of them not carrying on to the next game unless i restart and now this. I hope the non-stacking isn't intentional.

I think I've had one camping Bubba out of the last 5 or so that I've faced. I know he has a reputation for it, but in my personal experience it isn't the norm. I actually see more camping from Huntress and Blight.

I really like this skin, hopefully it was just an oversight

I've just stopped grabbing them in the bloodweb. I won't get through all the ones I have already, so I'm just not adding to it
