  • Take note of what is happening around you when the gen explodes. Might help narrow it down. Likely killer perks.

What about when windows is used with a Game offering? Hmmmmmm?

This combination is OP, so obviously the devs should do something about it and nerf Pig.

I know you're having a laugh, but I feel like anyone who uses a Game offering with WoO is wasting a perk spot lol

  • I don't think it needs a nerf, because i think in some games it can be detrimental to the team, particularly when used by those who don't know how to loop. Survivors start off the game in a strong position, with plenty of pallets at their disposal. As the game progresses, these resources slowly diminish. All you need is one pallet-dropping-happy survivor dropping as many as they please to avoid taking a single hit, and creating dead zones early in the game as a result. It's a very handy perk, when used conservatively.

  • Windows has always been that 5th or 6th perk to me. A good perk but there are usually 4-5 perks I prefer ahead of it. I think after the mid year perk overhaul it's become that bit more popular because people dropped other, more preferable perks, that were nerfed

I get business is business. I’m guessing this tech has been a financial success for other bigger games but it’s still a form of manipulation.

Yeah, that's fair. I just wasn't sure if you were aware :)

this is pure bs and every expert player will tell you otherwise... in order to win YOU HAVE TO TUNNEL AND CAMP, otherwise you'll struggle even with mediocre survivors that are still able to press m1 on gens. It's pure and simple logic: you can't be in 4 places at once as killer, and while you are chasing/searching for a survivor, the others have all the time needed to work on generators, meaning that 1simple chase can cost you easily 3 gen without even doing mistakes (add also perks, maps like garden of joy with the infinite present in the central building or the huge quantity of safe pallets present in the game for example and you'll have the general picture of dbd right now)

Survivors will always be in a good position at the start of the game, to the point where yes, you can lose a couple gens or so pretty quick. But as the game goes on and the killer employs strategy, the survivors position will weaken as their resources (pallets) diminish. As a survivor, I never count a match over if we manage to knock out a few gens quick because it doesn't take more than a few mistakes and a few deadzones for the game to snowball in the killer's favour.

  • I'm not expecting it to change much overall, never did, but it'll make my solo gameplay experience a lot more fun and engaging. The choices I make will be alot more informed now. Solo queue success will still come down to the actions of the team as a whole, which won't change (it'll still be bad lol)

  • Wraith gurgles. Even when you can't see the distorted air that is a cloaked wraith, you can certainly hear him

  • You can play however you want, everyone is different. I play survivor more than killer, but when I play killer I dont tunnel or camp. That, combined with the fact that I don't play it often, means I'm not getting great results. But I'm okay with it taking longer for me to become good. I'm not fussed about 4king because I'm still learning. The way I always look at it is - someone who has never played this game before can pick it up today and camp or tunnel their way to a kill. I don't want to play on the same level a new killer can play on. I won't ever get into high MMR as I don't play the game seriously enough for that, but I try to emulate those killers I sometimes get who one hook everyone, then two hook everyone, and then go for the kill. Sometimes they succeed, sometimes they don't, but that's the sorta of goal I've set myself. That's the confidence I want.

  • Is Overcome considered a second chance perk? That's the only exhaustion perk I use

If they just did this with ‘Deck the Trials’ it wouldn’t be as bad but really don’t like any other outfit being taken away and included in this fomo business.

I own quite a lot of them already but don’t feel good about it now because I don’t want others to think I fall for fomo tech and I don’t want to promote it to other players.

Apparently the devs said they didn’t want to release a second prestige set because they don’t like people show boating or missing out.. what the hell is this then? Obv must’ve been a lie to cover up laziness by the looks of it.

Sorry devs if you read this, it’s harsh feedback but this doesn’t feel right imo. Maybe you’ll make bank though ig?

People won't miss out. They'll be back next holiday season.

"Potentially an achievement" - Okay, and where are my free achievements? I can't even get a glyph while injured in front of a killer most times, not sure why I'm going to be handing out 4Ks. Are you implying all survivors should give up and allow the kill to happen after the first tombstone, after all it is an achievement and it clearly has so so so much value... or something.

I'll say it here as I know killers love saying it, it isn't on the players of the opposite team to make sure you have fun, I do not owe killers anything and they do not owe me anything.

and why should I care how much they've spent on addons, it is their choice, I don't see killers caring about everyone's items when they're running franklins etc, the entitlement here is so funny to me I'm expected to care about a killers points they've spent, my friend and I brought in a flan and bps, flan, an item you literally can't get anymore and we were subsequently killed at below 10K points to a myers who already had the achievement.

and yes, my blood points are more important than someone else's achievement, I didn't get the achievement handed to me when I did it.

The glyph challenge is a good point. I can count on the one hand the amount of times a killer has let me finish a glyph when I finally spot one during a chase. It's commonly accepted that one has to earn their achievement or challenge, and not at the expense of anyone else.

There was that survivor main who posted a couple days ago that he made it clear in his username and bio that he was trying for an achievement and he felt killers were intentionally going out of their way to make it difficult for him, and general consensus was that he, rightly, wasn't entitled to the other sides help.

  • Crouching over Hags traps is the best counter. She'll usually set them up around a hooked person too, so crouch walk over to them to unhook. If you are the one being unhooked, then pre-hold crouch so when you hit the ground you don't set them off. Then crouch walk to a safe distance. Crouch walk over them to do a gen too. She's definitely a decent killer, just try avoid basement when playing against her. You don't wanna get hooked there.

Still don't understand why cozy break is leaving. It's a pj/sleepwear collection.

If you read the descriptions, they refer to the holidays (eg Yun-Jin's pjs were worn for a holiday theme photoshoot, and Feng's were worn for a cosy night indoors over the holidays). Seems they're just being consistent with the holiday season theme.

  • It'd be good practice for chases

  • Before anyone spends their money right now - isn't there supposed to be a sale on these from Dec 22nd? I saw some mention of it not long ago. All holiday cosmetics except Deck the Trial collection

  • Thanks! Just wanted Mikaela and Yun-Jin's ugly sweaters but it's a handy post regardless

  • Unless you want to play an extended game of hide and seek with the last survivor every game, it's fine as is

  • I've tried a few times, if the Pig seemed chill, but they've never accepted it. So I don't anymore.

  • I've said a number of times that while I know everyone's game experience is different, I rarely cop camping and tunnelling in my games. I've been keeping track and tunnelling killers I average about 1 in every 12 games. And thats not just games where i get tunnelled, its games where anyone gets tunnelled. Camping killers are similar. Again, it could be different depending on things like region and MMR, or perhaps my definition of camping and tunnelling is different to others? Likewise, I don't believe some killers get gen-rushing 4man swfs as often as many claim to. I think there can be a lot of exaggeration on both sides.

I'm asking for specific examples. Perks don't count since both survivors and killers get them. What improvement did killers get?

    July 2022 update:

    * gens now take 90 seconds, up from 80 seconds

    * kicking gens gets automatic 2.5% loss

    * faster blood-lust

    * reduced cooldown on hits on survivors

    * survivors get less distance on hits

    * takes less time now to destroy pallets and breakable walls

All of this, according to BHVRs data, helped see a boost in kill rates of 8-10%

I don't believe you because most killers that run these legendary 4 regression perks are in the red grades it's the only stuff like that belongs in higher grades, you said average which means you're somewhere between the gold and ash ranks.Which means those dudes only play with killers you buy with shards and bunch of ghostfaces. You are asking for buffs in a pleading way.

Also anyone who has been playing this game knows you need to climb out of the lower ranks fast to have better games and casual players don't even want to be in the red ranks so they purposely kill them selves and buffing solo que want make somebody from DCing,it want make them from not going down,it want make them come save you,it will still be the same and swf will only have another tool.

Has it been awhile since you played? Grades don't determine your game difficulty. They're purely just the amount of time you put into the game. The game uses skillbased matchmaking to determine the players you get matched with. I can play every night for the next month and get to red rank, or I can play a handful of times and stay in ash rank, and I'll still get matched with the same pool of players.

  • I've mentioned something along this line a few times. People talk about gen rushing, but as a solo player the game is literally in a place where I feel I've let my team down if I'm not sitting on a gen. I actually feel a bit of guilt and embarrassment if a team mate runs past me while I'm cleansing a totem or looking through chests. I don't bring toolboxes or gen perks, but every killer runs regression builds, so if I want to be useful member of the team then I can't stray far from my gen because chances are it'll regress completely if I let myself get distracted elsewhere. I can't just come back to it later.

  • Can't say as I can't even remember the last time I tried to Kobe. I'm tempted to try but if I fail then I'm onto second hook lol

This game hasn't been remotely hide and seek since 2017.

Between scratch marks, pools of blood, injury noises, footsteps, afk birds, no more Iron Will, and the plethora of aura perks available, not many people would get away with playing hide n seek in an active game lol

  • @InnCognito said:

TBH the game just needs a set timer for a match 45 minutes or 60 minutes. If the survivor doesn't escape. The entity should take them and the match should conclude ^_^.

The game will automatically end after an hour

This is true. There were physical copies of the game that came out with the Stranger Things chapter. If you find one of those you can get the characters OP.

Nightmare Edition for PS4 and I think X-Box too. BHVR had free upgrade to PS5 available but I believe it ended in September.

  • I've never used it but I have no issue with other players using it. Even players who don't carry that perk tend to play selfishly once it's clear the game is over. I'd rather they play selfishly knowing they have a decent chance of actually getting something out of it, than they play selfishly just to go down with the rest of us anyway.

People cry a lot about many things. There is no end to it. I have no problem with eruption either as survivor or killer. People are literally crying about a perk that can be completely outplayed by letting go of m1. Meanwhile survivors can just press E to extend a chase for at least the same length, if not longer on certain maps.

How does a solo player know when to let go of M1?

  • 1. He's a new killer with a high learning curve. People need to take time to learn to play him instead of expecting to be experts straight off the bat. If in a few months time there is still an issue with his kill rates, then the devs need to make changes as necessary.

    2. Pretty sure those are Nightlight stats, which are only a small sample of the player population (English speaking sample) and also entirely reliant on people being honest about their results. BHVR have the real stats taken directly from the games.

  • The devs know how much of their player base is solo, duo, trio, or 4-man. They also know the escape rates of said groups of players. They have all the data they need to base changes on, regardless of whether people claim to play one way or another.

  • No hate, it's just literally out of BHVRs hands. They'll get sued by Netflix if they make her available again, since they no longer have the ST license. And they can't just remove her since people paid for her. It sucks but ultimately all survivors behave the same way and do the same thing, it's just a different skin at the end of the day.

This situation is no different from a hatch standoff, and the devs said that those didn't count as hostage situations because both players were choosing to continue and refusing to forfeit. Hostage means one side is being prevented from participating in normal game play and there is no active timer.

Agree with this. They're both making a choice. Killer doesn't want to end the game with a hook, while the survivor still wants a chance, but that chance requires the killer to try end the game on a hook. They're actively *choosing* to remain at a stalemate at this stage. They can waste an hour together.

  • Sometimes I'll plan to play for a couple hours after the kids have gone to sleep, and then my first game will be such a good game and I know I won't top it, so I literally just leave it there at the one game and go watch streamers play instead lmao

  • Would have been great to have a new Elodie skin

  • I play mostly survivor, but will play demo every now and then and I'll never use it. I'm convinced most survivors are probably just like me and don't even notice there's a boon on the map until we happened to run through it. The boon sound has just become background noise at this stage.

  • Seems like all they were doing was wasting their time. They should be letting the traps do their job - keep the survivor busy with traps and therefore off gens - while they put pressure on trapless survivors. Seems like an inefficient use of Pig's power, I'm surprised you've had 3 instances of this.

  • I don't usually wear charms but I think this one is cute

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3295484#Comment_3295484

Most people just waste too much time. If you're actually good you loop the killer for a long time, otherwise just sit on a gen. If you ever aren't sure what you should be doing, get on a gen. Wasting time is the main reason people lose though. Too much walking around, hiding ect.

Your own actions only go so far in solo queue though. Your team plays a big role in whether you escape or not. If you're getting 70%+ escape rate in solo queue then I'd say it's pure luck that you're getting matched with good team mates. You can loop a killer for a long time sometimes and only one gen pops because only one person is actually doing them. You can sit on a gen but if your team mate can't run the killer for longer than 30 seconds then chances are you're not going to get far.

Your latter point is correct, but unfortunately for alot of solo players it's your team mates wasting time.

As far as I remember wiretap doesn't work with open handed, unless that recently changed.

They don't work together lol so i'm curious what the person you're replying to has seen them do together

  • It's why I haven't bought the last few DLCs. They probably have data to show that new killers are the primary draw for DLC sales, hence why latest survivor perks are either lacklustre, situational, or require a higher skill window to get maximum use of. Plus too many get nerfed. I still play with the same small handful of perks (none are meta afaik) as I have since I started playing 2 years ago, the newest one I added to that rotation was Jonah's Overcome. But all that really does now is take the hit distance to what the normal hit distance used to be pre-mid year update.

I'll add that I'm a solo player, so swf perk coordination isn't a thing for me.

  • @WeakestNurseMain said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3295375#Comment_3295375

You're grossly oversimplifying here, you're just not gonna win with Sadako against a good SWF on Badham with strong perks and items, doesn't matter what perks or add-ons you bring.

You're talking about swf though, whereas Scott is talking about killer vs solo in his video that you linked

  • I honestly thought my escape rate was at like 20% until I started tracking my games. My escape rate is actually about 40%, but that includes pity escapes from killers. I really don't get enough of those for it to really impact on me I think, but to be more accurate and exclude those I'd say around 35% escape rate. I'll also add that I don't care if i die, so I don't play sweaty or try hard, and I'll happily die to get a team mate out. So I think taking that into consideration, my escape rate is pretty decent.

  • I assume because SWF are harder to kill because they're more coordinated

  • Yeah I noticed yesterday I kept getting add ons or map offerings and bugger all medkits or toolboxes. I actually started levelling up a different survivor, thinking the one I had been levelling up was glitched or something, but it was the same deal again

  • I was jumping into snowmen but I was the only one so I just stopped. We had one farming killer who messed around, thinking back on it he might have been going for that challenge. Honestly, just stand near a snowman and maybe make hitting motions towards it when you see a survivor. If I saw a killer doing that I'd jump in.

  • It's a bit of a sore topic for me atm because i had 4 games in a row that lasted 30-45min because of this, then my first game the next day was the same so I just shut the console down. I'm happy for people who have that sort of time on their hands, but I don't. I don't mind the occasional long game, particularly as a solo player who has on the rare occasion helped accidentally leave a 3 gen for the killer at the end of the game. I'll own that.

Of the 5 aforementioned games, we did manage to break it twice but that's not the point. I don't care about escaping, I care about my time. In the 2 years I've been playing, I've DC'd exactly twice - both legitimate reasons. I don't care if I get tunnelled or camped or downed first. It's not that deep. But I'd rather not play than be stuck in these dragging games. Congratulations to the folk who have the time for that.

  • Yeah I was kind of bummed to realize the snowman didn't silence my injured noises
