Am i the only one that plays without mmr in mind and gets decent matches?
I find if you just mess around with builds (I change mine up often) and not care about whether you escape/die or 4k/1k, the game is the overall enjoyable. Purposely pushing for high MMR seems to me like a form of self flagellation. I've rarely seen anyone get to (presumed) high MMR and actually enjoy themselves.
-
It used to annoy me when people would let go on hook. I'd drop whatever I was doing and unhook them to force them to stay. They'd usually just go afk at that point. I let go of that annoyance and have just accepted now that it's a part of the game. Yeah, it probably means the game is lost but at that point I'll just prioritise getting as much done and as much bp as I can to make it worth my time. Bottom line is that BHVR are a business and they want people to play their game, even the people who duck out early. I'm sure they'll eventually implement something a bit harsher but I doubt it'll be enough to really stop most people from leaving. Most do it as a knee-jerk reaction I think.
-
I'm unbothered by the limited cosmetics thing, but people can care about more than one thing at a time. Just don't click those topics, easy.
-
I've never used DH or a meta build in my life. So I guess I'm okay to hate on Eruption?
-
I play Demo on occasion and am pretty average. For me it's just that I don't really put the hours in. If I played more often and took it alot more seriously I'd probably do a lot better.

The gens fly because you're tunneling and putting no pressure on the gens. If you hard tunnel decent players then the others are free to do all of the gens at light speed. Don't know why so many killers don't understand this. As it turns out a strategy which relies on going after the worst player on the team doesn't make you better at the game. Shocking I know.
I do agree with this. At low-mid MMR, tunnelling out a weak player can be very effective and win you games easily, especially as you're likely to encounter mostly solo/uncoordinated teams. In mid-high MMR though, you're more likely to go up against swfs/coordinated teams who know how to loop and waste a killer's time. Tunnelling can still pay off but it likely wont be as easy and won't be as efficient.

The hackers seem to come in waves. People start seeing them more and more, then it's like a ban wave happens and no one really sees many for a few months until it starts again. I don't think they'll ever keep on top of them because hackers will just find their way around.

Considering a lot of perks are trash, I doubt 3k hours is needed to get 4 good perks. Even if you have to get them from 4 different characters. Hell I had every character at P3 with the old system with that many hours.
Yeah I agree re 3k hours. I only play Demogorgon, and more recently Wraith, when I play killer and literally all my extra perks are ones I've bought from the Shrine. I have nowhere near 3k hours in this game and I'm doing okay perk wise.
-
If this is happening consistently then eventually your MMR *should* pull you back and put you up against opponents more your level. The devs have said the SBMM works by putting you against opponents that your strategies should work against at least 50% of the time.
-
I play mainly survivor and my gripes are killer ping (I want to be able to see it in lobby), and players who purposely set up games so they drag. I don't want to be in 30-40min games. I don't have time for that.
-
Every killer has a subset of players who wish they never had to play against them. Youll find it with any killer you play as. I don't mind Bubba at all and his reputation isn't all that bad. You'd see alot of DCs against him if it were and I never see any.

I think you would be surprised how many toxic people are actually fully grown adults who are living good lives.
Something about being anominous brings out the worst in people
Yup, that's why I also said "lack of maturity." That encompasses all ages :)

Deathslinger and Trickster. Just boring

I don't think BHVR particularly wants that either, given the game's rating. And being always online. And the comical mess that is their chat and reporting system.
Yeah, I feel like a lot of toxic behaviour and hate speech in online gaming comes down to age and lack of maturity. I say that as someone who was a teen once lol
I once had someone in my lobby username '(name) age 5' whose parent was obviously teaching them to play on their account, and the killer ignored everyone until he hunted that kid down and tunnelled him out in like a minute flat. I felt bad for the poor kid but I digress, I'd hate to see more of that with kids excited to play another game with their favourite animatronics. The kid was just wandering in circles. We all know there is an age restriction on this game but plenty of parents out there don't care.
-
I feel like it'll bring alot of kids or young teens into this game, and I dont think that would be a good thing. I know those age groups already play this game but there will be alot more. My kids are 6 and almost 8 and love fnaf. My best friend's 12 and 13 year olds love fnaf. They'll all want to play DBD if they see fnaf in it. I wouldn't want to be playing with or against them tbh lol
-
As a solo survivor, I come equipped to look after myself (typically medkit). You'll probably find lots of other solo players do too. Too many times being burned by swfs wanting you to stay injured as a meat shield for them, or just trouble tracking someone down, or being unhooked and the unhooker leaves immediately in case the killer comes. I think it's why the Self-Care perk being decimated hurt for alot of solo players. I never used it, again I prefer medkits, but I 100% get it. Having a means to look after yourself in solo is pretty standard so a healing build to look after others probably isn't all that necessary.
-
Demo boy is fine. I can't even think of a time where this was an issue, as a solo survivor myself. Having one bad game doesn't mean something needs an overhaul.
-
The entire point of it being random and filled with useless junk is so that you don't have the best items and/on add-ons every round
-
Haven't seen it in a long time

I hope so, the last time I heard anything of was October 2022.
I just checked the kickstarter page and there was an update 4 days ago:
"Right now the factory is in the process of assembling all these components into boxes. The target is to have the games assembled and ready for pickup at the end of next week. Then they’ll go into the hands of our global logistics and fulfillment service"
Apparently next update is due in Feb.

Because it had an over 86% pick rate during its peak.
It was 20% pick at low mmr, 40% pick at mid-mmr, and 75% pick at high mmr (BHVRs stats)
-
I think it got pushed from Nov 2022 to Feb 2023, so hopefully should hear some news in the next month or so
-
I'd advise bringing Boon Exponential if you have it. Not perfect but probably your best bet if you're being left slugged for extended periods of time often
-
It's a seasonal item so will be back next December.
Also, the pyjama descriptions (all of them) refer to the holiday season. So even though they don't seem like holiday cosmetics, they were obviously released intending to be so

They probably used Jeff's Dog-shirt proportions for Felix's as well, if you compare them this would fit Jeff perfectly. Felix's other clothes all fit him greatly, but this one is an outlier lol
This is what I was going to say lol I think they were both made for Jeff's torso and it wasn't fitted properly when given to Feliz

It's pretty unacceptable that BHVR hasn't adjusted Eruption at this point. How hard is it to acknowledge that it's unhealthy and disable it until a solution is found? At no point since last July have they had time to revisit a single perk?
Let's be honest though, they'd be making a mint right now with Pinhead, Nemesis, and Sadako sales. If they address the meta perks or change the synergy of some, they'll probably wind up with alot of angry customers. It feels like every killer I face is running the same build at this stage.
-
I just start hitting the 3 gen immediately. I'd rather do that and either die quick and move on, or break the 3 gen and finally get a proper game going. I'm not gonna bother popping the rest of the gens first and then try get the 3 gen. It's boring for one, with the killer just staying in the one corner until we pop 4 gens, and second it just makes the game drag way too long trying to get that last gen. I've been in games where we have managed to do it and everyone escapes but it's not worth a 40min game. There's no satisfaction in it, I'm just tired and have a headache by the end of it and instead of having a planned night of several games I'm too tired after that one game.
-
Survivors not being able to heal is honestly one of the worst suggestions I think I've seen. Not everyone takes this game seriously and wants to be "top tier", some people like to play casually to chill out. Some people live busy lives and don't have the hours to put in to learn how to get good enough to play a whole match while injured, and most probably have zero desire to do so. It would just drive people away from the game. I've been playing solo q for two years now and I get how mismatched team mates can be, but that isn't a solution at all.
-
I'd guess because ultimately cosmetics don't make or break a game. Lots of people don't cope well with change, so a degree of backlash to any noticeable change would be expected but may not ultimately change their mind
-
I think a good sportsmanship thumbs up + reward in endgame would probably help improve alot of toxic behaviour from both sides tbh
-
I had one recently against a Pinhead. I was the only one going for the box and getting into chase and no gens were popping. After my first hook i waited to see if anyone else would go for box but after a couple min of chain hunt i said f-it, and went for box again. I only gave a halfhearted chase at that stage as i knew i wasnt getting out anyway. Both times I was on hook, none of my team mates were on a gen, they were just crouch walking around. On that second hook, I just decided to let go and go to next game.
I had a stupid desire to spectate briefly and see what they were actually doing. Chain hunt was on again, and one was in the basement doing nothing but fighting off chains. Another had finally jumped on a gen and was actually just attempting to do it slow asf through the chains, and the third was crouched in the area of the box, but making no attempt to grab it. Was just urban evading behind a corner wall to avoid the chains. I watched for way too long but it was like a train wreck I couldn't look away from. The killer checked the basement and hooked the survivor in there, and the other two made no moves to rescue. Just kept doing their thing. And they weren't new either. It was just so stupid, who has time to play like that.
-
Nurses are already using slowdown builds. Not every Nurse uses Starstruck.
-
Yeah for sure. As long as I pip and get some good bp though it's okay. We all have those days I reckon
-
I play on the Switch. I have it on PS5 as well, and it plays 100x better on that console, but being able to play it anywhere is a plus. We just got back from a week's holiday and I took my handheld Switch so I could claim the daily log in rewards. Didn't really play much due to lack of time, but it's convenient to stick in my handbag and play anywhere.
-
Not for me, but I'm not competitive. I don't care if I get steamrolled, I frame it all as good practice and experience going forward.

The time people play will be a factor I’m sure.
Tru3 plays on UK/EU servers and streams during the day when most people are at school or work, and gets very sweaty games until late afternoon when people are getting home and putting the game on, and there is a noticeable difference in skill of players he is matched with.
Back when I used to watch Tru3, the time of day he plays was something his viewers would point out to him constantly. I remember he had a period where he did change the time of day he played and his games were so much more chill. But then he went back to his regular time and things got sweaty again. I think he wasn't pulling in as many viewers at that time.
-
It amazes me how many comments I see across social media, where players hit red rank and assume it means they're in high MMR
-
How about when you down us we just carry ourselves to the hook for you as well?
-
I agree, except for a couple I can't confirm. I've only been playing for two years so not sure what constitutes "old dbd", and I also can't confirm whether or not you are beautiful. I'll have to take your word

If I know MS is on and I am on a Gen with somebody, I always stop around 85% and move into position to take a hit for the person on the Gen or if the killer comes try to get them to follow me. I always mess MS up, so me trying to protect somebody ends up saving more time than me staying on the Gen.
Yeah I usually back off if I know it's there. It's the times I don't know it's there and just casually finishing that first gen with someone. Then it's panic stations.
-
It's just unnecessarily progressing the game at that stage. Another brief chase isn't worth the killer standing around waiting for the final survivor to either 4% or just hang there and waste time if they so choose to. And I say this as a survivor main who also enjoys Deliverance on occasion. Though I prefer to get value through the game, as it can save the team time from having to unhook me.

And here I am, running overcome in my survivor builds....
This is the only exhaustion perk I'll run. It's so helpful when you're in a deadzone, or want to avoid making one.

As a Killer: Adrenaline. I feel like it is a free end game heal you didn't earn. People claim you earned it, but honestly you can get it being a worthless jerk while your team does all the generators.
As a Survivor: Merciless Storm, because my idiot teammates will screw it up every time.
I'm the idiot team mate, purely because if I'm on a gen with someone and MS hits, my mind starts racing like 'you're gonna stuff up, you're gonna ruin it, you're gonna piss your team mate off' and then I miss a check. When I'm on my own doing MS I'm fine.

I went through a period a few months back where I had so many Blights. Haven't played much lately so can't say for sure at the moment but I'm definitely not at high MMR and never have been.

To play normal in this game even on red ranks your killer must not be prestiged high...
I made my Pinhead prestige 6 for outfit bec i am Hellraiser fan ...now my pinhead is unplayable bec all i get is 50% ttv 90% swf...99% of games 2 gens in 1 min...they even genrush with chain hunt active...like nobody care for box even..you just tap with prove thyself and its allready genrush....
Then i pick my 1 prestige trapper and 99% of games are fair adequate
Killer prestige has nothing to do with MMR (and colour rank isn't MMR, rank is just a reflection of the amount of time you play). We can't see our MMR.
-
Yes absolutely. But I'm not fussed because toxic players will always be toxic. I see people on social media asking if it can show people in lockers too, which tells you all you need to know really. Despite several locker perks being commonly used, people still want to know because they think locker = team mate doing nothing.
I was watching a content creator play on the PTB and the team were getting steamrolled, and he kept commenting that this one survivor on the team wasn't doing anything because the icons werent showing her do anything every time he looked. He kept saying they were bringing the team down. Get to the endgame scoreboard, and the person "doing nothing" had the most bp while the content creator had like 10k less than them. The icons don't show the full picture. I'm guessing she was doing the saves.
-
I wonder if it simply comes down to increased prices of these licenses. ST was pulled when season 4 was on the horizon, which makes me think the license renewal price was probably increased and may have played a factor. If Bubba is going, it could be that the IP holders foresee renewed interest in the franchise and therefore the licensing fee has increased. DBD might not make enough Bubba sales in general to justify paying an increased fee.
-
I actually got hatch against a Nurse using Spies not long ago and I'm positive it's only because I was using Lightweight. She was pretty much chasing my alerts as I ran around looking for hatch, but then losing me because of the fading/unpredictable scratch marks. It kept her on my butt though and it was only when I saw her perks that I realised how. If I didn't have LW I think it would have paid off well for her.
-
I *wish* I got matched with players running this stuff. I'm not skilled enough to run it. Never see it among team mates.
-
Limited time event, probably no point. I'm pretty anti-DC but this would be one of those times I'd forgive it tbh because the killer is clearly trolling and not interested in an actual game. I couldn't imagine anything worse than trying to do gens during a neverending chain hunt. I'd rather go do housework.
