Yeah, there was a massive dead zone in mine. I literally had to avoid a whole section of the map. Half the corn is gone and they've just thrown random objects everywhere that do very little in chase. Oh and someone got downed when trying to get into a locker and then got stuck in the locker, none of us could help her and she had to bleed out.

Doesn't mean that TV is active for us to interact with, I rounded an entire map at one point before finding a TV that was active in order for me to snatch a tape. Blockbuster making it hard to rent but easy to return 🤣
Same lol I ended up just wasting time running in circles around one until it switched on and I immediately jumped on it. Was almost fully Condemned so had no choice.
Another difficultly solo survivors will face is not only finding a TV that's on, but also having team mates who understand that you might need the TV more than they do. If I have team mates ridding themselves of Condemned as quick as they can and yet mine is building as I can't find a TV while trying to do gens as well, then I'm screwed. Good teamwork is hard to find in this game.
-
Agreed. I like the idea above about not starting the game if someone's ping is above a certain level
-
Agree with some of your points but I think it can be detrimental to the team if everyone is trying to manage their Condemned early, as you suggest. There's only so many TV's, and Sadakos can teleport frequently, so it pays to be mindful of who needs to prioritise tapes in the team. In a swf this can be easily handled but in a solo team it's going to be hard. She'll be alot like Pinhead now in that good, mindful team work is required and if it's not there then ggs. I wouldn't be happy if I'm almost fully Condemned yet can't find a tape because of the teleporting combined with my team mates with barely any Condemned grabbing available ones before me.

Does anyone know how to get this charm?
To give some context, I bought the entire DLC in October 2022. I only recently found out about the charm and thought that it was strange that I hadn’t received it already. I play on the switch(is this important?). Contacted BHVR support and they refused to help me. I also just came back from a two week vacation and when I returned home I didn’t see the special video or get the charm. Please any advice is greatly appreciated.
I got it on the Switch last year, and I didn't see the video or anything either. I figured I missed out but one day while browsing my charms I saw it in there.

Hopped on for a couple matches and had an Onryo, so I see what gameplay people are talking about. She didn't hook anyone and spent the whole time transporting and slugging. We managed a 3man escape with the last person getting a Condemned mori.
I played solo and I did hold onto a tape at one point for protection and she was on my butt immediately. I actually led her on a decent chase, and she fully commited, which allowed good gen progress. After I'd been slugged and a team mate picked me up, I did struggle to find a TV that was on to grab a tape to remove my Condemned and I basically ended up running in circles around one until I could grab a tape. Bit of a waste of time but I was almost fully Condemned. The person who got mori'd did remove their stacks once but they were alot slower about it and waited until pretty much fully Condemned. They did the same second time around but it was ggs that time.
I didn't get the impression this Sadako was experienced in playing her, I suspect they were just following the playstyle everyone else is playing atm. And despite the 3 man escape, their gameplay was very effective. I was on my toes that entire game and we all came very close to Condemned multiple times. A more experienced Sadako would have won it easy.
Overall I didn't hate it, and I think i need more time to properly work out how to play against her again. But the team was good at picking a slugged person up asap, which helped. The worst part was having to waste time waiting on the TV. I walked away with over 20k bp, which wasn't too bad for a game where no unhooking happened.

She's def more oppressive now, I tried running a passive gen slowdown/chase build with her to try and it's honestly just better giving up gens and going for condemn stacks oddly enough. Only one? Majority of my games have been Ghostface or Sadako. lol
Yeah just the one. Had a pretty mixed bag of killers funnily enough. Looking at my most recent games it was Clown, Onryo, Dredge, Nemesis, Billy, Wesker, Wraith, Singularity, Deathslinger, and Pig. I usually get alot of GF but haven't seen one in a few days. Might squeeze a few games in tonight and see how I go lol
-
I don't find them too difficult to do naturally throughout the game. I'm pretty sure even doing a gen in the killer's terror radius while they chase someone else counts.
-
I've played against one Sadako since the update and she just set up a 3 gen. Was pretty bummed, I wanted to see how she goes with her new buffs. We just kept resetting Condemned whenever we needed to on one side of the map.
-
Yeah I wondered why this change as well. It wasn't needed.

Im ok with lobby dodges personally but I do think they should hide ppl prestige levels. Personally, I only dodge .ttv lobbies bc I don't want to play on someone's stream and those matches are always so bad for me. I don't know if it's me psyching myself out or what but I always play so badly if I know one or more survivors are streamers.
I got matched with a streamer I've been following for a couple of years and the performance anxiety is real 😓

But you literally just said "I'm not going to main as him" in the post I quoted earlier, so why do you want to buy him? BHVR is not forcing you to buy anything. You have the option to buy him using the in game store and it will cost you the same amount if he didn't have a cosmetic attached to his price (5 dollars to buy 550 AC and he costs 500 AC). You would be spending the same amount if it was in the steam store. If it's just for perks then it's a waste of money either way and you should wait to use shards to unlock his teachable perks as they become available. I just don't see the issue here.
What is a benefit to having your purchase of him in your steam library vs having him unlocked through the game?
I think it's a completionist thing. I don't play on Steam but I'm assuming other people can see your library? I guess it's like a digital way of showing off a collection
-
I just want Nea's because it's a recolour of an old one I wanted. Not really a fan of the purple but I'll take what I can get. I think I only need to get to tier 31 to get the set so easy enough.

I had a match with a Nic Cage today who used Plot Twist after I unhooked him. I assume the killer was running Deerstalker because he made his way back across the map before the poor guy could get up again. This is a new perk so it’s gonna take some time to learn it and know when someone is using it and when to leave them be.
On a side note, it would be a great counter to Tombstone Myers…
Had one use it in a game where the killer had BBQ and had just hooked someone lol whyyy
-
Well we'll know in 3+ months how she's doing based on whatever changes they give her.
-
Yup! Played on it this arvo and avoided one area of the map completely. There was absolutely nothing there, it was a free down zone
-
Are the Greek Legends stuff limited?
-
It was AU$15 which was okay for me. I wanted something other than his default outfit and I won't buy him cosmetics from the store. $15 auric pack gets you just enough auric cells for one cosmetic from the store, so I'd rather pay $15 for the DLC to get both him and a cosmetic. It's possible that Nic Cage negotiated a percentage of sales, hence why it's more expensive.
-
Sure, if it extends to the last survivor as well. I was the last survivor playing with bots who are, unsurprisingly, terrible team mates.
-
I've heard them say each other's name when in pre-game lobby together. Do they say anything else?
I play Sheva a fair bit and I hear her in the lobby often.
Edit: just realized it was a resurrected old post
-
I'm dying 🤣 just had a game against Pinhead and you're right, it's so bad. One guy got tunnelled out and I guess he was part of a duo because another DCd when he died, so we got a bot. The bot kept grabbing the cube and not doing it. Pinhead would chase and down him within seconds and start a chain hunt. The other person had enough eventually and DCd as well and I was alone with two bots. I just let Pinhead down and hook me. I don't think I'd be able to get anything done with two bots and Pinhead working against me.
-
They should have had the downed PT person have a yellow aura instead of red maybe.
-
Doubt it. For the next couple weeks maybe, but once the novelty of Cage's perks wears off we'll see it less and less.
-
My queues have been fine

Scourge hook pain res is also triggering much earlier now, giving you no time in solo Q to react and let go.
Shadow buff and you can now pair it with DMS again to rofl stomp all the Solo Q survivors without communication.
I'd say it's related to the above issue with the screaming. Everything is happening before the actual hook is.

Honestly, it's annoying how a minority can take an unintended mechanic and exploit it to inflict misery on others simply for their own kicks. My first game of the day was someone doing this and I have already had a couple today... my DC timer is now at 15 minutes so I switched to killer as it made survivor too frustrating today.
Good luck, hopefully you don't face one of these!
I hear you. The first time I'm forced to DC to avoid being locked into a potential hour game tomorrow, I'll just be shutting my console down. I have zero tolerance for it at this point, and the SM apologists who seem to feel entitled to an hour of everyone's time.
-
Was looking forward to having the house to myself tomorrow and just parking myself on DBD to level Cage up. The copycats inspired by the video are really putting a dampener on things.
-
I guess I just genrushed. The killer tunnelled an Ada from the start of the game and she lasted til 5 gens were done (on death hook). Me and the other three had nothing to do except attempt to take aggro (no luck) and stick to gens. None of us had a toolbox or even gen perks but the gens undoubtedly flew. Not sure what else we were supposed to do while the killer was ignoring us but I guarantee someone would call it genrushing.

I recognise it. I've actually rarely come across killers that I would consider downright toxic. But likewise, I've never played toxic as a survivor, never even dropped a tbag, and yet I'll get hit repeatedly on hook or cop that cringe humping while on the ground. Some people are just miserable in general. Not gonna make it my problem by dwelling on it.

To that list I'd add no representation in the Fog Whisperer program.
I'm under no allusions about them being basically a store front for new game content, but the fact that no consoler can even apply, knowing we're the larger playerbase by a long shot, is rediculous to me.
That's interesting, I had no idea. I know of some Fog Whisperers who use a controller but do play on the PC. I wonder if it's so they can show PTB stuff.

All the time as well!
As Killer: Peekaboo Myers/Ghostface, Ghostface vs Survivor fast-crouch contests, Moonwalk contests with the Survivors are my more "fleshed out" game modes (Killer pun only 65% intended there, lol)
As Survivor: Boop the Snoot (and not just Pig!), fast-crouch contests with Ghostface, Magpie (Killer permitting), and sometimes my friend and I whom I play DbD with the most, sometimes we will compete against each other to survive the match (being mindful not to hinder others from escaping). And actually had a semi-organic Mr. President game a month ago (two Aces loaded in with us in matching outfits, I had that outfit and my friend didn't, so my I protecc-eted my friend all match). Unfortunately both the Aces and the killer had no idea what that game mode was or what we were doing, but they all got a laugh in post game and we all had a good match anyway!
And one I had happen ages ago when I was playing Nurse on Suffocation Pit (MacMillian), all 4 Survivors were in the dead-center of the map in a crouch-walk train 🤣 I hit the caboose (a Bill) but no one broke the train so.... I joined in and became the new caboose until the train broke up 2-3 minutes later rofl
I had two bodyguard Aces (in their tuxedo skins) protecting a "Mathieu Cote" lol i was the solo to their swf and it cracked me up watching them taking protection hits

I also feel it would be more prevalent with SWFs; cause all 4 friends leaving at once is NOT unheard of/that rare.
In that situation, 3 would leave - the 4th stays to try get the hatch. All 4 leaving seems a bit redundant when hatch is an option.
And obviously I'm talking about currently. I can't see how 4 DCing is not an uncommon thing.

going on 5 pages arguing about how a killer that lost is broken and unfair
never change survivors
It's not about who won or lost. It's about a game being dragged until it almost shut down. If I won after a 50 min game I would still be p*ssed that a killer had the ability to drag me into a 50 min game. Is it hard to comprehend that people don't want to spend an hour in a game?

It's not possible, sadly. Maybe one day.

So MMR sucks but solo queue doesn't? The main reason solo queue sucks is because matchmaking puts you with survivors that have 1/7 the hours you have. Here's one example:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B6GEQ39I9WSG/zrzut-ekranu-2023-07-22-165058.png
I have over 1,400 hours on Steam. This was one of my teammates.
If you're saying that you go against pubstomper killers every game due to MMR then that would make a bit more sense.
To be fair to your team mate, I have over 1400 hours in this game too but changed platforms not long ago so my PS5 hours are low. I get lobby dodged by higher hour survivors all the time. I'm going to naturally increase in MMR faster than a new player and get matched with higher hour survivors because I know how to play, so I wouldn't necessarily judge your team mate on their profile hours. Just on how they play.
-
I play solo queue and I'm not concerned about this scenario. If someone wants to ruin the game for the team they have, and always have had, a multitude of ways to do so. The folk who have let go on hook in the past will still let go in the future. That won't change. I'd rather keep the penalty.

More to dbd then just chase/loop lol I have more hours on survivor by a long shot so I understand chases can be fun however protecting gens is an objective sooo do you not want killers protecting gens or?
You can protect the gens. But don't be surprised when no one wants to spend up to an hour of their limited time playing with you.

I change my perks up all the time for this reason, so there's none I'd say I crutch on, but Overcome is definitely my favourite exhaustion perk so I have it equipped alot.

But that isn't the content I paid for. I paid for Skull Merchant not whatever the hell they're gonna rework her power into. When shes just another generic chase power killer then that isn't what I paid for.
And the rest of us pay into this game too, and many of us play when we have a bit of spare time to kill in between work or family or friends or schooling or whatever. And we don't want to spend the entire time with you. You're not that special, I'm sorry. If you play SM and enjoy locking people into hour long games then you are simply wasting people's time. I can play 3-4 games in an hour with any other killer. Why would I want to play an hour with SMs like yourself and earn the same amount of bp that I could earn in 10 minutes with any other killer?
-
Mine hasn't even been opened lol I have no one who wants to play it with me

Why do people keep saying they "let the killer have the 3 gen" when people have explained why it doesn't matter what order the gens are completed? How are you arriving at that conclusion?
The fact that all this time later people are still trying the old "survivors let them get the 3 gen" in these discussions tells me they know its bs. It's just an attempt to push the conversation in another direction, one that takes the attention off the killer and puts it on the survivor. It's an attempt to protect a way of playing that they enjoy. Either that or they've never been in the situation of playing against it, in which case I don't understand why they even have such a strong opinion on the topic.

I would like to take the time to apologize to the DBD Gods and Developers for any wrong I’ve done to deserve such a punishment.
I have been playing this game since it’s beta. I’ve taken a lot of breaks, but I come back now and then.
It is quite concerning that Behaviour cleared this character into the game. You can’t be upset at the players, people will always take the easiest way to reach their destination. It’s on Behaviour to recognize this character needs a complete rework.
Yeah I'm expecting to play against more now after this Eternal game. I rarely see SM but more people will now copy this Skull Merchant and waste everyone's time for sh**s and giggles
-
My games were fine. Didn't have a tunneller in any today
-
Yes, I prefer more difficult opponents as it's the best way to get better. It's the same reason I run all over the place as survivor the moment I spawn in, because I'm not the best in chase and the only way I'll get better is by getting into chase. Not gonna improve by hiding. Though, I don't mind the occasional game where I'm just chugging away at gens. Really depends on my mood.
-
Yeah, it works and that's why so many SMs play that way. You reach a point as survivor during the back and forth where you hit max gen repair points and are essentially playing for nothing after that. It'd be great if they hooked you but most leave you on the ground because they want to watch their 3 gens and won't take the time to hook you, so you can't even let go and move on. All around a boring game experience. Glad I don't see SM often.

We would rather see how they play out in real matches before jumping to any conclusions, but if the worst case scenario is that the Killer isn't denied points that they would have gotten had the Survivor not disconnected, that's still a pretty good worst case scenario. That is a positive change for the Killer, at least.
That said, even a bot can repair a generator or take some time- even if it's only 30 seconds- to catch and hook. This would be beneficial compared to not having a teammate at all.
I am not a fan of using a defeatist attitude as a reason to not try to make improvements. Yes, we recognize that bots are not and will never be a true replacement for real players. Yes, we realize that in most cases, you would rather have a real teammate than a bot. But just because this isn't a magical perfect solution doesn't mean that it's better to sit here and do nothing. Doing something to help address and reduce the scale of a problem is better than doing absolutely nothing and letting the problem remain.
I support the implementation of bots, but having watched them play they seem to miss alot more skill checks than the average real player. While them being a benefit for the killer is great - more bp, getting adepts, etc - I'd really hate to have to do a gen with a bot or get healed by one that keeps missing skill checks. That'd be a real hindrance.
