How would you nerf her instead?
I dont think Nurse needs a nerf? I love going against her, its a scary challenge being chased by someone who can zip through a wall and down you. Pallets are survivors worst thing to go against nurse, large tall tiles are your best friend.
-
Give BHVR time, theyre still looking for the sweet spot for the Ghoul. Ive not played since it updated but I know even prior to these changes he was absolutely atrocious to go against. Its likely he will need a few more tweaks before hes a challenge for survivors and not a straight roflstomp.

- The hook bubble explosion after the unhook removed
- In the hud the survivor icon that shows the killer someone is on hook, changes to injured after a certain delay
- Both the unhooked and the unhooking survivor leave no scratch marks, pools of blood and make no grunts of pain for short period of time
All the changes allow the survivors to get somewhere without the killer easily locating them and by the time they are found, they should be healed again.
What are your thoughts?💭
I absolutely love the idea of the bubble getting removed, Im sure BHVR can brain-storm other ways to notify others that someone was hooked/unhooked somewhere without it being blotted out by a large dark bubble.
-
Generators used to be completed faster, I dont recall the exact time but I do recall them extending the time it takes to complete a generator to 90s. There's also no longer a 'gen tap' for survivors to cancel regression from a kick, we have to progress to a certain point before it ceases its regression.
Fun, in my opinion, doesnt always equate to winning. I feel that gets lost in the fog somewhere. To most that isnt the case, winning is where their fun is at — I like to meme, vibe, goof off with survivors or with my SWF regardless of the Killers good or bad manners.

I have, or so I believe, decent reaction time and its been a hassle avoiding getting snatched once sights have been set upon me.

Been playing all day again. ALL GHOULS. EVERY GAME. Except for a Wester, bless his heart.
Can someone explain to me how the Ghoul's targeting ability works? Sometimes it gives you a warning and an opportunity to dodge. And every other time, it aimbots and just hits you immediately. And sometimes it can hit you through map objects and walls. Like what is this actual slop? There is sometimes ZERO COUNTER to his ability.
This is actually making the game extremely unenjoyable for survivors.
If I recall the Live stream correctly - its automatic aim/lock on. There was mention of there will be a red indicator for survivor to see where hes going to lunge to but personally there is zero room for reaction time before he's already there and biting you.
-
I would personally label it as such, you were unable to continue participation in the match due to someone taking advantage of a bug.
Before they addressed the closed rooms atop of Saloon I had a Pig trap me in there for an entire match. 5 gens right into my death at the endgame collapse.

they get a huge speed-up to your location if they detect you while you're very far away from them. that might been what happened and you just got surprise bodied by a carnifex with wings
orrrrrrrrrr bug, which would suck
I wouldnt say 'surprised' as I saw the grass move in the distance and knew a guard was on the way but he, as I stated, I was a foot shy of not being latched onto and speed — I can understand that — but I had zero time to react even with Dead Hard. When I say instant - I meant instant. I'll send in my clips to BHVR in that case.
-
Anyone else experience some fun stuff with a guard today? I the aura of one touch my pinky toe this evening and that guard, essentially, instantaneously dropped me. I had ZERO time to respond.
-
I may or may not hit Esc when the game starts to see my 'Chaos' perks.
-
I enjoyed the randomness that came with the Chaos Shuffle.
What I haven't enjoyed so far are the proxy camping Killers who tunneled - I kid you not - one match after the other. I've returned to normal games for the time being.
I was even told at one point 'I had to because of the build I got' Killer had Haunted Grounds pop AND was in close proximity to a survivor who had Object of Obsession pop - nah, gonna hang around the hook.

Most games are GE + PR + Corrupt and Pop.
Sometimes Deadlock in and one of those perks out. Or sometimes it's just not regression build, instead it's blocking build which means GE, PR, DMS and Corrupt.
Pretty much those perks are in almost all games.
So question is that, how you are feeling with facing with those perks?
This build combo has been burned into my eyes lately and its forced me (being the person who generally runs the Killer) to use gen repair perks in order to feel like there is an adequate counter. I miss fun builds on both side.

Mid-game? Yes, they'll still be useful in some form of fashion -- for the most part.
Endgame? No, the initial player the bot was born from has already lost their points and the bot has zero use for any.

Because of the link go self-harming and suicide. The Shattered Bottle is less problematic and controversial.
The bottle never seemed any better in my eyes and this is coming from someone who has worked with teen girls with suicide on their agenda. They gravitated towards smuggling sharp items in -- Ive seen so many scars and blood along with it. Alternatively, I did have a new client smuggle in rope that I had the displeasure of confiscating when my shift started. Neither icon, simply my opinion, is a suitable change to deter images of suicide.

I saw this discussion this morning and read into it some, continued my matches. After several matches of dying SOLELY because of team-mates all morning, I agree. As I sit here, dead, I watch a Dwight in his natural habitat hiding. Is Dwight new? Not with Distortion, Kindred, Adrenaline and Clairvoyance. Why is Dwight doing this? A hatch challenge. Hiding on the edges of the map rendering this game a 3v1.

Addiction is a powerful thing.
And now that Im out of a trial I'll add onto this.
Aside from addiction I like to consider what a person has learned in their life. There are those who grew up in an unstable household and cant see the ability to be happy therefor they find it necessary to make others unhappy - evening the terms of engagement if you will.
Are they always aware of this? No. These, sometimes, are the ones that are easier to encourage growth in a more positive manner.
Then we have those that do it because it gives them some modicum of joy. Narcissist's.
If Im playing with someone who has become far too over the top in their attitude/mood/treatment of others and/or myself, I'll voice my concern and if that changes nothing I'll dip. Buh-bye.
PS: The only 'correct' way to play a game is to play it the way YOU enjoy it - not how others dictate.

Despite WoO saying it goes on a cooldown -- it does not. I swift vaulted last night when reading this to test the change and there was no change. Just looks like a hiccup on text.

$ 5.93 (Survivor, Killer, no cosmetics, charm)
$ 6.35 (Two Survivors, a single Killer, a cosmetic for Steve and Nancy )
Purchased in 2021 (Two survivors, one Killer, no cosmetics, charm)
$ 12.71 (Two Survivors, one Killer, charm)
$7.41 (One Survivor, One Killer + Cosmetic for Gabe and Singularity)
$10.59 (One Survivor + Cosmetic jacket + a whole plethora of voice lines)
$12.71 (One survivor, one Killer, cosmetic for survivor and charm)
I think my Silent Hill and Stranger Things chapters were purchased on sale but I'm still dropping it up there since I went through the trouble to gather the screenies.
Notice how with these LICENSED DLCs come with either more than one survivor, a cosmetic or a charm or a simple mix and match. L-i-c-e-n-s-e-d DLC. Resident Evil and ALIEN are a big franchise, then you have Nicolas Cage who is a celebrity -- he is his own license.
Non-licensed chapters seems to be cheaper, even with the added cosmetics -- such as for Gabe and Singularity.
DLCs that didn't call to me, I purchased through Iri Shards - a good alternative to Auric Cells for content I'm not in a hurry to have or overly interested in.
We also don't know how $$$ the deal, agreement or whatever term you want to use, BHVR and the licensed franchise ended up coming to terms on.

It's the lack of objectives that survivors currently have that lead to this stale meta we're in now. Killers choosing to opt-out 1 survivor to have a 'fair' match is difficult to assess which both will have to experience a terrible quality time in dead by daylight. This desperate strategy only intensifies the survivors to repair generators swifly but what other choice do killers have?
What could be done about this without breaking the game significantly? What should be solved first?
I honestly have no clue. The nature of the game is to do the generators as fast as possible to have a higher chance of escape but for killers, you want to kill the survivors as fast as possible to decrease their chances of escape. How can we balance the scales?
Survivors focusing on their objective? Who would've thought such a thing existed?

@bearr_trap I know prestige≠skill but that game went something like this:
Alright let me go ahead and scout for survivors *first gen pops* wow that was fast Oh look a Meg! *3 minute long chase* ok, I finally got the down and the hook let my just *doors are open* ... *I get T-bagged at the exit* you're not saving your friend?... No? Alright 1k game you can't always win
-----------------------PS chat-------------------------
OMG you have to be the most cancer killer I have never seen!, You are terrible at the game so you needed to camp the only survivor you got
-You T-bagged me at entrance, I'm sure with some coordination you had a chance of saving him
Get good kid
-Vale se acabó (Fine, I'm not having it)
you blocked this person
So, when I get "bullied" in a chat I just write down the last message in Spanish, the reason why it's another anecdote but it's besides the point
Not gonna lie, I chuckled pretty hard at that. Did not expect that 🤣
But I agree with Alice, you did great! Even if you played a fair game, there's a chance the opposing side will talk smack. Must be their desperation to validate themselves in life somehow.
-
Prestige doesn't always count as skill, sometimes its just someone who played the game a lot. I've seen many a p100's be a potato. Ive plenty of hours behind the game between Killer and Survivor and have good matches and not so good matches. For instance, my Nemy match last night went awful with my usual roflwhomp build. Then I swapped to my challenge build which was the backpack build (Mad Grit, Agi, Awakened Awareness and Iron grasp) and stomped a mudhole in some rumps just memeing around.
For going as far as they did to to contact you through the messaging system I'd wager they dont win very often and decided to act like they were god-tier entirely. Id also go as far and say they were a SWF, which presents its own challenge sometimes via comms.
-
If they dipped just because they were grabbed off of a gen by a stealth Killer then I'd wager they likely have a penalty, that sounds like the actions of a survivor that is either embarrassed to the core or entitled, if not both. I usually call it a temper tantrum.
I've seen quitters happen even with the game progressed, a perfectly progressed game, 2 gens down even and the Killer finally gets a player down only for that person to DC upon pick up from being the first down or take all their chances on hook and refuse to hit their skill checks once they hit second. I've seen the same happen with no gens done.
I'll admit if I get tunneled off hook twice even with OTR and meat shields placing themselves between me and the Killer at an early point in the game I'd rather leave and chill out before tapping the Ready button again -- but to leave because I was snatched off the gen all I'm gonna do is say "I don't wanna talk about it" with as straight of a face I can muster without laughing at myself.
-
I don't mind any of these Killers so long as I'm not pitted up against a 3-gen Dull Merchant. At least all the aforementioned Killers in this post provide some form of excitement to a game than babysitting the tightest 3gen on the map and leashing back to them when a chase ventures too far from them.

I think there may be some misconceptions here, so I'll do my best to clear them up.
The game does use an MMR system for matchmaking and it has not been removed. That said, not every match will be perfect. Matchmaking systems need to balance match quality and queue times carefully. If it prioritizes making the absolute perfect matches every time, you're going to wind up waiting a very long time for a match. While some may be okay with that wait, others don't care as much and would rather play sooner. It's a tricky thing to perfect and something we're always tweaking to improve. The vast majority of matches are already within a very close margin where your odds of winning vary by a few percent.
There are some extreme cases where this is not possible, though. For example, if there aren't enough players near your rating playing in your area at the time you're playing. In cases like this, the matchmaking system has to gradually expand its search range until it can find you a match, otherwise you may be waiting a very long time (possibly forever). This scenario is fairly uncommon, and while it's unfortunate, there's not much we can do there. The matchmaking system can only work with the pool of players that are available to it.
But as far as levels go, they mean absolutely nothing and have no impact on matchmaking. If an expert survivor happened to pick a new character this match, they aren't suddenly a terrible player. Especially since the progression overhaul, they even have access to most perks right away. The same goes for grades and prestige; they have absolutely zero impact on matchmaking and do not reflect someone's skill in any way.
The exception to this is the PTB. Matchmaking ratings are not used on the PTB since there are not enough players on the test build to create quality matches. Therefore, it's disabled and you can be paired with anyone.
This clarification brings me, and I'm sure many others, joy. I hope many eyes read take a gander at this post.

Players are going to look at the glass half full / glass half empty when it comes to gen rushing. Me? I see nourishment, something to add life to the trial I'm in. A challenge!
-
Oh no, the footsteps are silent --- Didnt realize it made the scratch marks invisible too.
-
When you realize the Killer has No Where to Hide (and you're not running Distortion) a good counter is to slither into a locker when the Killer is on their way to your generator.

Could be the first underwater board. The survivors swim around instead. Would make for a nice change.
I LOVE ideas like this but I'm always afraid of the execution of such a wild idea. I've seen games do something similar with underwater regions and zero-g levels, can be a bullseye or a complete miss.

To be fair, the clip was from the PTB where he was testing stuff out. But i don't disagree with this. Generally these streamers talk about how unbalanced things are, then go right around and start using it. But i don't blame them, if you are playing to win, you should use the most broken stuff.
I watch two streamers and they are more memey streamers than anything, I like what I like lol.
I don't watch loaded down streamers like Otz for the sake of keeping my own opinion my own. I don't need to adopt someone else's opinion -- especially if their experience is COMPLETELY different than my own.
-
This one had me thinking.
I feel the BBQ invitation has potential for a hefty amount of points, especially for the Killer and anyone who is a gen jockey. If you get to barely touch a gen for the entire trial because you're looping or the one unhooking and healing or what have you, you'll lack in points.
Then we have the Terrormisu
The ALL CATEGORIES lures me in since I can benefit from Altruism as well as Boldness instead of just the Objective but this also buffs other offerings, which boosts anyone who brought a BBQ invitation.
Personally, Ive been swapping from one to the other every match or so.

True, don't you think the game would be more fun for EVERYONE if that was dealt with? Wouldn't it be a great world if SWF/top tier survivors were nerfed, and we buffed low skill survivors or vice versa for killer? Maybe if camping didn't exist, and tunneling didn't exist, and there was no such thing as a god pallet? And every loop was fair? And every loop was mindgameable? And you couldn't just predrop every pallet? And there were actually more pallets (or maybe even pallets respawn?!) so dead zones didn't get created too quickly? And that you couldn't just shift + w to win?
Not Otz using Made For This + Hope.
