I am not SWF if that is what you asked.
Matchmaking must favour you with either amazing team mates or terrible killers

Survivor = easy quick game, I can mess up so hard, but still constantly do 4gens in 5 min.
But kind of boring no challenge or game play at all.
Killer = unfair hard, it's like playing the hardest mode in darkest dungeon, it has some fun mechanic and can be very creative on your build make the experience very different, but you will lose most of time, and will feel most of them are underserved.
You can solo 4 gens in 5 min?
-
I keep track of my games, and I'm averaging 1 Singularity every 10 games. So I'm seeing him regularly.
-
Well player skill has to account for something. I wouldn't imagine a 100 hour killer or survivor would have the same results as a 1000 hour killer or survivor. A perfect balance seems to me to be a situation where everyone has an equal opportunity of achieving the same thing. I don't think that's possible in this game.

In my 3400 hours I have never even come close to losing 20 games in a row. I think the highest I got was 6-7 when I was brand new and trying to play Pyramid Head. I don't know how people can lack the self awareness to realize that they just aren't very good. If you're losing 20 games in a row on normal killers then you're going to get destroyed as nurse.
And there's nothing wrong with not being very good, i think it's important to emphasise that. Alot of popular streamers do these win streaks etc and I think so much of the playerbase tries to measure up to them. But these folk are popular for a reason. They're the outliers. They've played for so long and for so many hours to the point where it's now a *job* for them. People need to not be so hard on themselves.
-
Reading the title I thought something terrible must have gone down, but this is about teabagging? Jfc
-
I didn't know the artists were being harassed. I wish I could say this is out of character for this playerbase but sadly I can't. You can dislike something without being an a** about it. It's just a game. There's nothing wrong with the winning cosmetics, even if you feel they're not to your taste.
-
You could try but I don't think it's a reportable offence. It's a ridiculous thing to do - I had a Jonah do the same thing, and when it was just he and I left, and I got put on second hook, I held on to the very end to give the killer time to find him (they did). Jonah made it to the end of the game yet walked away with only 3k bloodpoints for his effort. I'm sure the embarrassment of that was punishment enough.
-
Congrats to the winners. Looking forward to seeing these in the game
-
It's honestly blowing my mind that people aren't seeing him. I'm curious as to why. I faced another two today, different players.
-
Yes, alot of us have been experiencing this over the last few weeks. It's very off putting. The hits probably look normal on the killer's side but from our side they are a mile away. It used to happen every so often but it's been consistent lately.

Got any tips? I play him a lot and go against him a lot but I’m still struggling with countering him
I just try keep him in line of sight and avoid getting into small spaces in chase. My goal is really just to dodge his Bound/avoid Infection, while maintaining distance. Controlling my camera in chase had always been hard for me, but the amount of practice I've gotten since Wesker came out has helped immensely.

I will forever be congused on why people literally sleep on lucky break, prob one of the best perks out there still because now it doesn't last 3 minutes people think its useless, pair it with overcome and you can waste so much time.
I had a week last year where I used Lucky Break with Overcome and Bite the Bullet plus a medkit. The reason I stopped using it was because the game became so boring. I think I had my highest escape rate ever that week.

the funny part is where you get twitter complaining that they face Wesker too much so he needs changes. I mean the way you get players to play other character is.... to buff weaker characters to get more variety. But BVHR looks a kill-stats, killer over performing.
I see people complaining they see Wesker too much, but rarely, if ever, that the solution is to nerf him. In fact, I often see requests for a killer prevention program in the same vein as the map prevention program. That is, if someone keeps getting the same killer repeatedly that the game prioritises a different killer for the sake of variety. I see that request on social media far more than I do requests to nerf killers.

The servers are janky atm. Probably from so many people playing for the event. Lots of us are having this sort of issue. Hopefully it sorts itself out when the event is over.

Sadly nope but I believe famous streamers like Otz and True3 probably did that. NotAyrun also has those.
No worries, I'll have a browse. Those 3 are way above my skill level and do well in chase with or without help anyway, so I'd probably benefit from finding a more average survivor to watch.
-
I don't think so. In fact, I see him so much I've only gotten better at going against him.

You should watch videos on youtube where survivors just keep replenishing pallets over and over and make chases last longer thanks to window blocking.
Thanks! Got any links to share?

I see someone missed the point of survivor event powers.
Could you explain it? Killers rarely vault so blocking a window hasn't been too handy, the easier option the vast majority of the time is to just walk around the wall or obstacle. And if you don't get the stun with the pallet - which is easy for killer to step back and avoid - then it's a guaranteed hit because the drop animation you're locked into lasts longer than it takes for the pallet to dissolve and the killer to move through. I'd genuinely like to know what I'm doing wrong.

My pallet breaks with the invitation still are taking almost as much time as breaking them myself. I've only found them useful if I'm running the other way while they happen.
Is there a way I can use this more effectively?
From a distance. It doesn't even make a sound, or if it does I can't hear it over chase music, so killers use that to their advantage too.
Eg. Played a game a couple days ago where I dropped a pallet in chase and killer didn't break it, just went around the wall. I ran around too, vaulted a window, but instead of continuing to the next tile from there I decided to stay on the same one and use my dropped pallet to keep chase going there. Went back around but there was no pallet anymore - killer had destroyed it from a distance, and I had no auditory or visual indication of it happening. Had nowhere to go on that side of the tile so just went down.
On the topic - I've definitely had enough.
-
It's not just that server. I'm in Australia and copping ridiculous hits like that every game it feels like. I'm not sure how to check ping on console, or if I can, but I imagine it'd look similar to yours
-
Okay, let us know how it works out for you
-
You're giving hatch too much credit. The game doesn't consider hatch an escape. It's considered null. It's purely a means to an end. All of this is just a convoluted way of doing the exact same thing, except it gives killer more time and opportunity to get kills, which they would - especially since most resources are gone by the end of the game, so the survivor has to last 2 min in chase when alot of the map is a dead zone as pallets have been used during the actual game. And killers have bloodlust.
-
Last time I saw him was two days ago (didnt play yesterday), had him twice that day. I see him regularly and the ones I do see are good.
-
You have every right to leave if you want. But as it is a team game, I think it's normal to expect some people to call you out on it
-
I don't have a Twitter account but thanks for fighting the good fight everyone

Just yesterday we had 3 survivors at gate, 1 dead vs. A Nemmy. I was wounded but we were out...
I stood on what I thought was the edge of the gate to give the Nemesis a gg free hit to belly flop across the finish line... Only I wasn't on the edge... I'd lined myself up with a beam a meter or so in.
Nemmy smacked me, but I'd already half put down my controller... so I reacted too slow to realise I wasn't out, I got grabbed and he hit one of the other suvivors before carting me away to hook.
These 2 brave souls tried to rescue me and managed to make the exchange, but both got slugged. They were both Dead on Hook... so he grabbed one and hooked him... I tried to res the other, but Nemmy pushed me off and forced me out of gate 😥
I had to go take a shower after that one 😖
Oh yes, I've had those games haha make a potato move and watch everyone go down trying to fix it. I stupidly tried to save someone in basement today against a Trapper and went down. My last 2 team mates could have left but stuck around and thankfully it paid off. But I felt like such a novice, I literally walked into his trap at the door. The person I was trying to save even DC'd on hook when I got trapped, I feel like they were trying to tell me something lol

It happened once that I was in chase, and from the corner of my eye see that shack is not that far. I'm terrible at looping in general and thought "hey for once might as well try shack"
The two other injured survivors were healing in there. We barged in like the FBI.
I stayed in the doorway to bodyblock the killer and give them a little time to run somewhere, and got downed, but I felt terrible.
I've been running Aftercare since then and it has not happened again thankfully ! =)
"Barged in like the FBI" made me laugh haha that does seem like an honest mistake, I'm sure they forgave you. I've never used Aftercare, think I need to start so I don't just Sprint Burst right past my team mate and out the gate again :'(

You know what is boring? To play same 4 perks for 7 years. Time passes, but survivor meta stays the same-adrenaline, sprint boost, borrowed time(now basekit but still meta), unbreakable. It’s just stupid how survivor meta stayed the same for 7 years with minor changes, but you complain to killer meta which changes with every freaking patch.
That hasn't always been the survivor meta. Update 6.1 literally happened because killers were sick of lack of variety over survivor perks. The meta used to be DS, DH, IW, SC, UB, give or take.

I stated I didn't see a difference in the time it's take to break the pallet. When the pallet is dropped and the actions that follow vastly change the outcome during this event.
My primary tactic has been to attempt the stun and then immediately move towards the strongest direction, seems to be working just fine. Is it 100% effective? No, but I'm seeing far better results then the teammates that try to stick around and gamble on the loop.
How are you managing to take action after the drop? Serious question because I'm struggling. If you dont get the hit, the pallet dissolves before the drop animation ends. Every single time I've dropped it and missed the stun, I've copped a hit a split second later. I can't move far enough because of how long I'm stuck in the drop animation
-
The more you win, the higher you go up in SBMM. I guess you've had enough 3-4ks that the game thinks you can stand to have more difficult opponents. If you lose enough, it should settle a bit lower and you'll eventually start to be able to predict when you're due to go against more difficult opponents. You end up in this kind of balancing act. I know when after I've had a series of wins that a world of hurt is coming my way.
-
If the powers are the same as this event, then imo nah. I think the survivors got jibbed compared to the killers

Well thats my point, just help out someone and we wouldn't be so toxic. I just finally got that Mettle of Man TC where you have to be Ash, activate the perk, use it and escape. It look 5 hours and only because a very cool streamer let he have it.
Yeah it was nice of them. I was on a gen and watched it happen. Plus it benefits some killers too, because it's easy pallet removal lol but pallets don't matter to Nurse so they purely did it to help

I love that tunneler demagogy. Flaw in this statement: killer is not playing efficient when tunnel, he just prey on weakier teams. And when getting matched with better teams, start to cry "What the hell! I was chasing 1 guy and all gens popped!" Yes, darling, they are. Because if you would do what mentioned in point 1, you wouldnt waste your learing time with cheap "noob-nuke" tactic in point 2.
Tunnelers and campers are basically cheaters if on low MMR there were no security and on higher MMR all survivors are stuffed with AntiCheat protections. "Oh my god! Where are my easy wins?! What happened?!"
Yeah, it can only carry you so far. If tunnelling gets you wins when playing normally doesn't, then your MMR increases quicker, and eventually you'll find yourself at a level where good survivors can handle tunnelling just fine. One will run you while the other 3 smash out the gens. Then the killer comes here complaining about Seal Team 6 swfs and gen rushing, when the truth is they've put themselves in a position above their comfort level and suddenly need skills other than chasing one survivor out of the game in order to compete.
I don't care if tunnelling is what people choose to do. It's no skin off my bones. But if tunnelling becomes detrimental to them, and suddenly doesn't work, they'll never entertain the notion of stopping and copping losses. Their solution is just to nerf survivors so they can beat players that are better than them. And *that's* where it annoys me.
-
I saw it once, someone asking if they can stun the killer. It was a Nurse and they still played for kills, but floated up to the pallets and let the player stun them lol

Unfortunately you're going to get bots in your games an awful lot, because
*The bot replacement system fixes literally none of the reasons people disconnect*
In fact, it actually gives an extra reason to disconnect (not encouraging or condoning DC's here, just discussing human nature). Anyone who would normally stick out a game just to be a good teammate... well, that's what the bot is for now. It turns a disconnect into a bullshit win-win, where that player can leave the game like they want, but the team isn't down a 'player'.
So when people get sick of losing because of bots on their team, they'll just disconnect in a cascade and make the problem worse.
This system is garbage, bullshit, and solves nothing. It's ripe for exploits and abuse by both sides, and simply leaving the player's avatar in the world for 30 seconds before having the entity take them gives the killer time to gain stacks/hooks without any option for abuse.
This should never go live in a PvP game.
Eh, I feel like people know a bot is a poor consolation prize. I can't imagine too many people will be like 'oh it's okay to leave, the bot will fill in for me.' They'd know full well people would rather play with other people. Plus the DC penalties won't be changing, and I think that's what stops DCs more than anything. Whenever the penalty is down people have a field day with DCing.
If anything I can see scenarios where the bots are left to die on hook or people refusing to pick them up when they're left to bleed out. Especially when the game isn't recoverable for survivors.
-
Definitely something in the air today. Played 7 games and killers DC'd in 3 of them, and team mates DC'd in 2 of them. Everyone is on edge this last week of the event. Chill guys, get some bp.

The Evader emblem has been ticking me off this event. I will run the Killer for so long, lose him in chase a few times, land a couple pallet stuns...and then get a Silver at the end. It's very frustrating and has been the emblem making pipping in red ranks difficult, especially when you feel you did so good that game.
Use perks like Lightweight and WoO for that emblem. They can help keep the chase going and confuse the killer too, which can help escape chase without being hit. Also when the killer is chasing someone else, do a nearby gen in the terror radius. I did all the emblem challenges while iri 4/3, just try to bring the best perks to get the points you need.
-
Nah, people will just become DC prone and essentially shop games. I dont wanna play with bots all the time.
-
Yes, it's been very bad lately. Like every game. Very little phases me in this game, at least enough to get me to stop playing, but this absolutely does it for me. I used to get it once in awhile, and I assumed it was the killer using a VPN to gain an advantage, but surely that's not happening with every single killer. It has to be something on BHVRs end. It's really annoying me. It likely looks normal on the killer's end but on my end they're miles away from me and it makes it very hard to make judgement calls in chase.

I found that the game became CONSIDERABLY better when I just stopped caring about whether I escaped or not.
Sure, sometimes I get killed because I make bad choices with this attitude but I find the game is way more fun when I'm willing to take chances, play with the more fun perks instead of the meta, and overall just not giving a F anymore.
Maybe that's just me taking a huge sniff of COPIUM every game but that does mean that I get to enjoy the game a lot more so if it is that, I'll gladly keep on huffin it.
Same. I can't enjoy this game if i go in expecting to win, and that goes for when i play killer on the odd occasion too. Expectations just lead to disappointment. I set myself small goals to accomplish instead. Helps to run tome challenges so even if you lose you feel like you've accomplished something.
-
I've noticed it at times, but since I have no proof of wrongdoing on their side I just conclude they're better than me and leave it at that.
-
For me, I notice that when it's 100% survivor I tend to have more useless team mates but more chill killers (still play for kills but very little tunnelling, camping, slugging, etc). When it's 100% killer, usually after 9pm, I have better team mates but killers are alot sweatier.

Does Distortion activate if the killer player is using cheats to read your aura? I’m not saying this Wraith was cheating - I just ask because I’ve had more than a few games lately where killers were running no aura reading perks and had none tied to their powers or add-ons and yet they miraculously knew exactly where to go to find survivors. It could be luck but the way it happened in-game I don’t think so.
Not in my experience, but hacks could have advanced. I used Distortion at the height of the wall hack epidemic and it never took a token. It was actually an easy way to determine whether a killer was using wall hacks, as most would try pass it off as BBQ and Chilli
-
I got motion sickness with Nurse, and I imagine this would be a similar feeling. But that's the beauty of PTB - test it out and give your feedback
-
I changed fully to PS5 at the start of the year and it was this masquerade event that pretty much helped me catch up perk wise. It was a slog starting again. I've been unlocking survivor perks with bp (P1ing everyone) and killer perks on the daily shrine with my saved shards.
-
I think it's fine. Alot of people complaining about it were already complaining about struggling before the perk even came out. It's just another thing to point the finger at. Even if BHVR completely eliminated the perk, they'd still be here the next week complaining about something else.
And if we want to start adding conditions to perks, then killer perks are fair game too. No more benefit to just kicking a gen (if getting injured is just typical gameplay, then so is gen kicking). No more Lethal Pursuer, which I see in every second game at least, activating by just spawning into the game. Corrupt too, I guess, since again all you have to do to get the benefit is spawn in. Let's make people earn it, yeah?
-

-
I agree that survivors got the short end of the stick here. In your case, I'd bring a more selfish build. I got the last masquerade challenge (3 x gold Unbroken emblems - so basically escape after either being hooked once or not at all) done within 4 games by bringing Distortion, Overcome, Lucky Break, and WoO, as well as a medkit with an extra heal. It helped me get to the end so it might help you.
Most players would have the masks and reset is coming up next week, so everyone would be playing extra sweaty unfortunately. And I'm all too familiar with the calibre of solo queue team mates.
