It makes me wonder if the devs actually play the game or not

Do you main a killer in particular or play all of them? Also what platform?
@GraviteaUK All the free ones + cannibal
PC Master Race

If you have that mindset, you aren't ready to switch to PC gaming.

no one cares

no one cares

It is already dead, the devs and playerbase have killed it.
It just doesn't know it yet.

no one cares

Indeed, killer is stressful and frustrating. Don't give BHVR any money til they fix it.
-
Every killer should be as good as every other killer, in their own unique way.

@PhantomMask20763 No, its not.
If by that you mean: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/57097/developer-update-april-2019#latest
That is absolute trash. No addressing the constant DC issues, the killer audio issues, nothing about rank rewards, nothing about totem placement, nothing about prestige rewards
You said "its all there and more".
None of the basics are there -- so how can there be more?
Where do they address the wealth of killer audio issues? The constant and purposeful DC's? The no rank rewards? Totem Placement? Prestige Rewards being crap since cosmetics came out?
Where do they address that @PhantomMask20763 ?
-
@Orion @PhantomMask20763 @Poweas @Bbbrian2013
Can you point me to the developer roadmap, where they acknowledge major issues in the game and lay out a time frame for expected fixes and/or how they intend to re-work / fix the issue?
Or only updates about minor crap with no relevance to the big picture and no exact details or time frame?

1 hour suspension, 12 hour, 24, 72, permanent
intentional DCs are out of hand and must be dealt with.

Flashlights don't make you deaf, you can still follow survivors when you are blind. Survivors leave scratch marks as well which you can follow to find the survivor and if there are no scratch marks they are obviously really close and you can probably find them in 10 seconds. For flashlight saves you can just face a wall and if there is no wall then try to bait out the flashlight person or slug the survivor if you are paranoid.
Killers cannot use audio to track survivor's movements.
Killer audio is trash and you cannot distinguish individual sounds.

Then you just haven't been here when a ban wave goes out and people start bitching that they were banned. It has happened before and will happen again.
@Orion Aye, I have not been. I am only 4 weeks old (DBD). Hopefully a big ban wave comes soon.

Yes, it's propaganda. You're forgetting the fact that BHVR, like every single company on Earth, does not publicly show ban records. Steam shows permanent game bans, but you have to actively look, and even they don't have a directory of banned players, nor do they list which games they were banned from, nor do they list why they were banned.
@Orion Understood, but a lot of people will make atleast 1 post complaining they've been banned or suspended. I have not seen that for this game. I see no evidence the mods take any action at all.
Not on reddit, not on the steamforums, not here, not anywhere. I can find nothing.

They do, but the problem is that many people aren't reporting them due to "bans don't work" propaganda.
Propaganda? Is it though? I've searched and there are no records of DBD banning anyone for death threats in the past 4 months.
-
@Orion said:
Report and ignore. Eventually, the toxic ######### will be banned.
I have been reporting, every game. I still run into the same people. I have not been able to find a record of anyone being banned on DBD for death threats. I do not think they ban players that.

@Slayer said:
Lol dont mind kids
@Slayer There's a difference between not minding something and ruining a facet of enjoyment.
We should be able to talk about the cool jukes, nice loops, nice grabs, etc. When I play against someone for awhile, I like to talk about the play. That isn't possible in this game.

There is a chat disable option for the sensitive CAUALS that cant collect THE SALT from the vermins they've just rekt!
You can find it on the right side of the chat bar on the tally screen. Enjoy the loneliness in your CASUAL "single player" SALT free personal world!
@Bug_Reporter I'm a casual because I don't like being told to die of cancer at the end of half my matches?
You epitomize the toxicity of this game.

The grind is too much imho.

As a Spirit main it's frustrating since she has more issues than most.
@powerbats Indeed, they NEED to address the situation, atleast ACKNOWLEDGE it.

@Peanits @not_Queen Are you aware of this issue?

@Acesthetiic I am happy you liked the Dev Update :)
I am even more excited for the information we will release next week about the Legion Update and the End Game Collapse!
@not_Queen Any idea when the killer audio issues will be addressed?
-
How about they fix all the trash bugs and flaws in the game first before they go cross-platform.

The developers would like to express that survivor problems are much more important than killer problems. You can't hear footsteps because ######### you, you're hearing "fake" breathing because ######### you, and if you're getting gen rushed you need to GIT GUD. Now log into Dead By Daylight and get bullied like a good little killer.
Sincerely, the DBD Team
P.S. ######### you
@jackmadrox I feel your pain brother. I think the devs don't care; why else would so many things in the game remain in such a horrid state?
-
You guys really believe the devs are giving 100%?
I got the 'minimum effort maximum profit' feel from cotes. Like "we'll do only what we need to do".
-
@Bongbingbing I've played other games where we were able to force devs to fix problems via mass refusal to play or overloading servers (Eve Online best example).
Why don't we pick a day and all refuse to play? Or we can all refuse to purchase anything until the problems are addressed.
-
@Orion said:

If I tell you you're gonna be banned in 30 seconds if you don't come up with an answer to that, do you think you're going to magically come up with a solution? Obviously not, so why do you think it'd work with anyone else?
@Orion I only started playing this month. I don't know the lines of communications to the devs. I am assuming someone here knows more than I do.
-
the real problem is the circular notification is so large it blocks your vision of the survivor
-
So how can we light a fire under the dev's asses to get this done?
-
Fixing a lot of the killer audio issues might lead to more people playing killer, which greatly reduces lobby times and the skill gap.
sounds like a win-win.

@Condorloco_26 said:
Audio is busted.
I get fake breathing all the time, indoor gens completely muffled by walls, fake footsteps in corn and grass, chase music blasting won't let you hear anything when being blinded, etc etc
Indeed, it is disgraceful.
-
There's way more survivors than there are killers.
If you want to help matchmaking time, play a killer.

I refuse to accept punishing for DCs because it's situational. It's not always DC for someone to get a hatch, or DC because someone is fed up of being in the same game as the same killer for a 3rd game in a row, or DC because the killer seems op. It could be DC because igtg, dc because lag switch, dc because the killer and a teammate are obviously farming other survivors together, DC because the ping is worse than it seemed in the lobby and I can't move or know exactly where I am and don't want to be stuck in that game because I have things to do and little time to be playing (dont want people getting hurt or wasting time trying to save me if I let myself be hooked), DC because internet went poop. But other than that, yee.
@Kurisataru Every DC I've ever seen has been when downed (immediately) or hooked (immediately). I've only ever seen legitimate DCs during loading screen.

@MystiKasT Honestly, the best advice I can give you is to watch guides on the game, and avoid the forums at all costs. I've been gaming for a long, long time and these forums are a cesspool of negativity and "Killer main" vs "Survivor main" juvenile BS. All of which is mostly self-serving for one side or the other.
You'd be better served avoiding this segment of the community entirely, and just turning to various YouTube guides instead.
@Kilmeran Thank you my friend! I played a couple games today and enjoyed it. I think I may have gotten so obsessed with grinding grinding grinding to get perks that I forgot to enjoy myself along the way.

"Biggest issue I have is with players who can loop me for minutes on end -- who know where every pallet is. This isn't (as big) an issue if I have a trap on me, but I do not always have a trap on me."
The point of trapper is to utilize his traps to the fullest. If you see a survivor at the start of a trial, it may be best to ignore them and try to place as many traps as possible. You also want to be trapping areas like the killer shack window and other popular spots, not just random areas of grass. And again, if you are getting looped for minutes on end there really is something you are doing wrong. You should be able to end chases faster than that by being unpredictable and properly learning how to loop. Watch that video @Peasant posted, it will help you tremendously. Like I said, everyone thinks they know how to loop and counter loop properly, until they actually see someone doing it properly...and dear God stop running around jungle gyms clockwise. Make sure that's scarred into your head so you don't forget, it's the most important thing when being looped around jungle gyms.
@Vexon Thank you for the reply! Before I started playing killer, I watched about 10 - 15 hours worth of videos on how to play, including the one peasant linked.
Yeah, moonwalking is great, I know how to hide light, etc. But my actions are completely dictated by survivor actions. Killers are solely reactionary.
And how come the best killers in the world can get looped for 1 to 2 minutes? I've seen truet4lent get looped on trapper once for almost 3 minutes. Did he suck?

i recommend you watch some good streammers that knows how to play a killer ive seen alot of them that can get 4k
@Tru3Lemon I get 4ks about 30% of my games, that doesn't make those games fun. Its still full of the same looping/bully B.S.

you pretty much started the game a month ago.. I have been playing since 2016, killer is easy mode now. learn the game more then open threads imo.. with all due respect
@harry14141414 Thank you so much for your offer! Although all your posts relate to survivors and/or brag about how you've played since open beta, I am going to assume you aren't lying about killer being 'easy mode'.
What tips do you have for a rank 12 Trapper/Cannibal?
-
@Peasant said:
Okay @MystiKasT I'm more than happy to help you get better at killer I'll just need to know a few things.
These being:
- What killer you plan on "maining" or playing most
- Any maps you have trouble with
- What perks you have available
I know you have a Trapper avatar but a good number of people on the forum have avatars for characters that they don't play so I refuse to jump to conclusions on that alone.
Without any information the best I can give you is this video:
Thank you so much for your offer of help! I play trapper mainly, I have difficulty on any map where traps are super easy to see (no grass). I have nurse Lvl 40 and I just got cannibal to lvl 10. Hillybilly lvl 5.
On trapper I run: Sloppy Butcher, Whispers, NOED, Brutal Strength
Planning to throw endurance in there from hillbilly and BBQ & Chili from cannibal, but many BP away from those two perks.
Biggest issue I have is with players who can loop me for minutes on end -- who know where every pallet is. This isn't (as big) an issue if I have a trap on me, but I do not always have a trap on me.

My god, is it me or are new players way faster learners than we were?
It took me 3 weeks to figure out how to hit a skillcheck (I didn't notice the ping).
๐๐๐
I didn't notice the audio ping until my 3rd day or so! With so many sounds going on, I had no idea it was even a thing! funny when you think about it ^_^
-
At what rank / how many hours do I have to get before I am taken seriously?
What about all the killers who aren't new, who are top tier, and have the same exact issues I do?
-
@Vexon "if you find 3 people on one gen, dont chase the one with sprint burst"
How do I know which survivor has sprint burst?
Also, nearly all survivors I play can loop properly. Going after the ones that 'can't loop properly' is near impossible. I won't know until I've already started chasing, and very few don't know how to loop, it is very easy after all (only took me about 2 hours in a practice game with my friend as killer to nail it). The hardest part is memorizing pallet locations.
I do like the not always kicking gen advice. I usually only kick it if I know there won't be other survivors near it to stop the degradation, but I will exercise more thought in the future regarding gen kicking. Thank you!
