I normally play Nea in bright obnoxious clothing and can easily hide from the killer in a lot of situations. The odd time I play killer I use stridor, whispers and my ears to find the good hiders.

Indeed. Half a killers perk slots should be set aside and assigned to find hiding claudettes.

    Great design A++

  • @Peanits spirit is still broken and needs fixing

  • A bit harder to see than the others? It's a world of difference.

  • @Maelstrom10 said:

Honestly they could just buff the saturation by about 20% on all areas of her clothes in photoshop (excluding blood textures, by overlaying them on top with an invisible layer) and it would probably fix the issue by a large margin.

personally i don't have an issue with claudette being so dark, but at the same time i can understand why people miss her. its why despite her being my main i refuse to use p3 clothes and bought an outfit specifically for her so i could be less toxic

Not many these days are able to discipline themselves to such a degree. Kudos to you! Thank you for playing fairly.

I read that lowering your graphics helps. This is an issue with many clothes and characters, you can't just ask them to delete black people and dark clothes from the game. Well, you can, but it's not likely to happen, just like because you find it hard to track people on the corn fields they're not going to delete Coldwind farm.

    Apples and oranges.

You are comparing a unique individual case (Claudette) versus an ability EVERYONE HAS (hiding in cornfields).

Claudette being damn near invisible is not OK.

Your reasoning of Survivors did this and this. Is the exact mentality that will destroy this game. you are not eliminating a problem but just adding to it.

You only have a problem when the other side does it. You are not eliminating a problem, just adding to it.

    You need to be objective.

Because first Claudette, then you'll have a P3 Tap being the problem, then a P3 Meg and then more killers will have more issues.

You remove one and then you'll start removing more.

@CallMeSpidey CallMe Spidey? More like CallMe Hyperbolic! You are attempting to argue a slippery slope that does not exist.

There have been thousands of fix claudette threads, there's been less than 10 (I've never seen any and searches bring up 9) request to fix other models.

You are dead-ass wrong on every argument; just stop.

Claudette with her earth-brown clothing is an issue. It needs to be fixed.

What are you even babbling about? I'm talking about specifically in the EGC when the killer is slugging you just to get the animation. You should be able to bleed out faster.

Pay attention before you try making smart comebacks.

Bleeding out faster denies the killer the chance to hook, which denies BPs.

Killers already get denied enough BP.

  • This isn't a horror game. Its a game for friends to enjoy together, with a solo person providing them entertainment.

Can you please show me where a killer hold the game hostage in a basement or a dead end and you created a topic about it? Just because a lot of people created a lot of this situations doesn't mean putting a timer of 4 minutes now is okay. Some people keep forcing this situation, even if it's just 2-4 minutes, it's still time wasted. It's less time, I agree, but still the same. The problem is not solved, just has a timer now and it looks cool, so it will get forced even more often.

How can a killer hold a game hostage for 3 hours like Survivor can?

O body blocking the basement? Yeah there's tons of instances of that happening for hours on end /s

  • You want our opinion in the comments? I think you are Survivor main who does not understand the other side of the issue at all. I think now that even the tiniest bit of pressure has been put upon you you are freaking out and feel like the world is against you.

Everything is fine. Before end game collapse I used to have games that would go two or three hours long because survivors would intentionally try and force me to DC. That does not happen now.

Also while you may find camping morally objectionable there is nothing technically wrong about it so reporting someone for camping is a waste of everyone's time.

    @FloraFury

  • @Taelance said:

    @se05239

It just seems like it has not been thought out.

Also you say about the "wasting time." well that is how the game was intended for the survivor to be immerse. Consider it hide and seek. Still a way for the game to end too. The killer has to find them. Duh.

For years survivors could infinitely waste time a killer cannot waste more than 3 and 1/2 to 4 minutes.

Can you please show me the post you made or you talked about how horrible it was that survivors tea bag at the exit gates for 15 minutes? @Taelance

  • Survivors teabagging the exit gate for 20 minutes is fine but a killer wanting to see a new EGC animation for 3 and 1/2 minutes is not.

    Survivorman logic cracks me up

  • If you've never felt vulnerable then you've never played a killer

  • @CallMeSpidey said:

Yet no one complains about a P3 Adam, it's always Claudette.

Just adjust man, all killers go through this. She's not invisible, difficult to see, but not invisible.

Just adjust man? Why not rework something that is incredibly easy to rework that everyone agrees is a problem?

  • @drunky26 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/465289#Comment_465289

    thats not what i meant.

Exactly. Very simple stuff that fixes a major problem.

  • @drunky26 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/465281#Comment_465281

How would you remove her prestige clothes?

    p3 claudettes are invisible too.

They are located as a. Tar file. Replace the file with new non invisible clothing.

  • It's bullshit she gets invisibility as a free perk

  • @CallMeSpidey said:

Because you can't just "Take Away Clothes."

They know of this issue, why do you think 90% of her DLC Cosmetics are white and bright colored.

    Yes you can.

  • So survivors consent and tea bag at the exit gate 15 minutes but a killer cannot Slug for 4 minutes to see it.

    Makes sense.

  • @Peanits said:

I would imagine that whether you're taking 9 seconds to kill someone or 15, it wouldn't make much of a difference. The amount of time you're saving by killing someone after their first hook is absolutely massive by comparison. Though I'd still be interested to see what y'all think.

@Peanits they should just make all killers viable.

  • They do, they all survivor main.

  • There's no reason not to have this other than the fact it'll cost BHVR time/money to implement -- therefore we will not see it

  • Only survivors get to have fun.

    @MystiKasT

Peanits already said it had been mentioned before that they were trying to close the gap by giving solo more info before your post is quoted, that is acknowledgement for this thread that they know there is an issue and they are working on it.

Not knowing this or being new doesn't excuse the tone you use as some research woukd get the answers you wanted.

For the record players on comms are not map hackers they, you have to think what multiplayer game doesn't allow friends to play together? Calling them hackers is silly as it's a game feature.

In any game groups will always know where the enemy is over solo players it's just how it is and incredibly hard to fix, Evolve had the same issue with balance, even fps games such as cod and battlefield groups have an advantage of knowing where someone is so it's not just asymettrical games either.

The more info for solo hasn't been working as intended though as no amount of info they can give solo will close the gap and that's the only major issue now, some of the changes inherently buffed swf also.

Solo can tell where the killer is at all times, can't tell what pallets have been used and where, can't tell if someone else is going for the save, how much of a gen has been done for certain conditions such as waiting until saved to hold off so adrenaline can pop at the right after a BT hit to name but a few.

All that though still doesn't change the fact it was quite rude how you implied they were lying and asked them to be honest when in reality they have been they just don't know how to sort the issue.

People go on and on about how different this game is because its 'asymmetrical'

Except when it comes to comms. Then its fine, because all games use comms.

4man SWF have a massive knowledge advantage they should not have. The game was NOT designed around knowing the killers location, perks, where is safe, when its safe to unhook, what gens are done, where the gens are, chests are.

These are all things SWFs know that the game was NOT designed for them to know. They were not INTENDED to know that information. This is NOT acceptable.

What about that don't you understand? @twistedmonkey

And what tone? Are mods gods now? Am I not allowed to say they are not being honest? What tone works for you? Let me know. I will be assure to adjust my tone to meet your delicacies.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/457041#Comment_457041

They have aknowledged SWF as a problem hence the reason they have been trying for a long time to bring more info to solo and close the gap, you have your answer and its certainly not happening over night so why keep asking in such a derogatory way for the same one we got months ago in this thread?

@twistedmonkey I've only been playing about 45, maybe 60 days. I don't know what was said on these forums months ago.

For my first two weeks, I legit thought they (4mans) were maphacking or something. than I did a 4man SWF with my friends and realized it. 4man SWF is essentially hacking -- it provides the same information.

I don't like playing games against hackers; it is stressful. This situation pisses me off and ruins my gameplay experience. I have to check profiles now before everygame to make sure I'm not playing with maphackers.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/457036#Comment_457036

I'm going to duck out of this conversation here because this is not the way to have a constructive discussion.

You aren't being honest, so we can't have a constructive discussion.

4 man SWF versus 4 solo players is not just a 'gap', its a totally different game. It would be nice for us (as killer mains) to know that you (as the people we put our faith in) are aware of not only the problem, but the extent of it.

You act like its a minor advantage; it is MASSIVE. @Peanits

As a player, I do not have faith that you, at BHVR, understand the scope of the advantage gained by 4man SWF -- as you've never said or hinted you do.

Not asking you to fix it overnight, but I am asking you to acknowledge there is a massive problem here.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/457007#Comment_457007

Beast of Prey is an example, but perks like Whispers, Make Your Choice and Monitor and Abuse are also things you can very easily figure out on your own. I'm not going to pick them apart one by one but there's a line between what you can figure out with a bit of game knowledge and what you can only do with a group.

It's been mentioned before that we would like to close the gap between SWF groups and solo players. Since you can't remove information from groups, this would have to be done by adding information for solo players and then buffing Killers to compensate. There is no ETA on this at the moment.

@Peanits Just be honest and say

"We know 4man SWF is a massive problem, we aren't stupid. But we can't do anything about it. We can't prevent them from using voice communications, and if we got rid of 4man SWF, tons of people would complain and maybe stop playing".

The least you could do is require 1 extra generator to be done for 4man SWFs.

Correct. Figure out on your OWN. You have a massive advantage when your buddy figured it out and relayed it to you so you can avoid it or play around it. That person didn't figure it out on their own yet now has a massive knowledge advantage.

  • @Peanits said:

I can honestly say I have never seen anyone relay to their buddies that the killer is using Beast of Prey. That would be silly. That would require having someone run over to watch you get chased when you could just use your peepers and watch for them yourself. Their terror radius doesn't disappear and you'd still be in a chase, you just wouldn't see the stain.

I won't disagree with all of the points you've listed, but when you list things that aren't true just for the sake of listing them, it doesn't make your point stronger, it actually makes it appear weaker.

Out of the 22 extra perks survivors get for playing SWF, you chose Beast of Prey as unrealistic. This may be true, but it doesn't change the fact. (also, the other 21 additional perks, any problems there?)

One survivor on a SWF knowing the killer has beast of prey? Now all know.

That is the most important thing.

Everyone has information they should NOT have because of relays over voice comms.

Is BHVR doing anything to address the extra 21 perks (-beast of prey knowledge) that SWF get? @Peanits

Do you understand the fact that 4man SWF w/ comms allow survivors to gain information and killer location they should not have? Does anyone at BHVR understand this concept?

  • @NightmareReborn said:

While it is true that SWFs have advantages over solo players, this seems a little excessive.

For example, "The killer is near the water tower".

Well where's the water tower? What side of the water tower are they on? Are they getting looped?

Perks provide information that friends can't always provide consistently. I'm no SWF supporter by any means, but this is a little much

Correct. 4man SWFs basically have maphacks. They know where the killer is at nearly all times and relay that information to their teammates.

Its not only a 'bit much', its freaking ridiculous.

@NightmareReborn Also, this is assuming you have map knowledge. There's only 1 water tower and its in the edge every time (MacMillan).

  • @brokedownpalace said:

    This is so cringey.

@brokedownpalace Indeed it is, and all true. This game is not meant for this type of information to be known by everyone at all times.

  • @BlazeNightash said:

the issue isn’t there’s to many pallets. The issue is there’s to many SAFE pallets/loops and honestly the red glow on killers should be removed.

@MystiKasT You act like people are actually buying the base game at rate that matters.

This game isn't gaining new players thats why dlcs and cosmetics are important. Get more money from existing players since new aren't rushing in by the millions.

With just entry costs bhvr/dbd would die.

@Bbbrian2013 it is getting new players. I am 2 months old, and I started wit 2 other friends. Thats 3 new players in the past 2 months just that I know of.

  • @GodDamn_Angela Talking about allocation of resources.

More resources should be allocated in stability + balance than cosmetics.

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

@MystiKasT They need to focus on dlcs and skins.

If they don't they're not making money so they're not able to pay staff to fix anything.

bro you act like the game is free to play. I just spent $20 to buy the game 2 months ago and then another $5 for leatherface and another $5 for a spirit outfit. this isn't f2p @Bbbrian2013

  • @Pizzaman said:

The sounds as well as the visuals should not be extensively configurable.

It should be exactly in the way the game was designed to sound and look like, so that every player has the same experience. If you make all that configurable, people will abuse it to their advantage (e.g. turn down chase music to better locate the opponent, turn up the brightness/contrast to be able to see even in dark corners).

Also, if it's true that "every game made for over the last decade has had these options", then it should not be difficult for you to name at least 10 of those games that heavly rely on sound and that are also asymmetrical multiplayer games. Once you name them, and maybe even provide some screenshots of the audio sliders, we can compare the options.

I agree visuals should not be configurable aside from graphics/performance.

Audio is a far different matter and should be able to be adjusted.

  • @CronaWins said:

I don't care for stability or cosmetics.

    I want balance.

@CronaWins They refuse to tweak movespeed/terror radius to achieve balance, so we need stability first. Once the game works most of the time, then we go to balance.

Moonwalking and Red stain management is a thing for a reason. Those two are the things that put the difference between a good killer and a bad one to a certain extent.

Or the DS nerf adaptation? Or the flashlight nerf adaptation? Or the pick-up animation buff adaptation? Or the pallet decrease adaptation? Hmm. Yup. Survivors know only how to cry.

The Red Stain is there for a big reason. It's supposed to let you know where the killer is no matter what. Survivors need that information because the Killers are faster than them. Some good killers have managed to adapt to this, but some haven't. So, who can't adapt again?

@FeelsVeryBadMan How do I adapt to a giant red light shining through walls? Just never look at the survivor until I am about to hit them? How does that work?
