Someone correct me if I am wrong: Wasn't this exact idea already tried in the past, and it was quickly scrapped because Survivors abused the hell out of it?

Abused is such a dirty word. Easy to upvote!

Are you sure the survivors didnt just make good use of the extra time, and killers complained that it was abuse? Lmao. How can you even abuse a few extra seconds on a hook......

But is having mods checking it truely automated though? If we were having mods check it we could just scrap the whole karma idea and just go off who disconnects and then sick the mods on them.

Better to have a handful of people to review rather than half the player base

  • @Seanzu said:

This is a terrble idea based on the fact that a killer could have 4 votes against them every match.

It's a no from me, they're already going to penalize disconnects when Dedicated Servers come out, and if someone is a prolific disconnector then they get banned anyway.

Obviously that would be compensated by the survivors votes towards the killer holding less value. Banning is not a healthy solution when the reasons for disconnecting are so common and vast

  • This system is automated. Itll take work to program like any solution, the only people that would have to be hand checked by mods are the select few that have too low karma. It actually saves the devs a lot of work, and let's not try to fluff the issue here. Disconnecting is a huge issue that could destroy the life of the game if not handled properly

  • @DetailedDetriment If the survivor doesnt read or play by the handbook, they should be banned imo

  • The orinigal post is exceptionally valid and we shouldnt dismiss it because of a few fallacial arguments.

  • @OpenYoureyes said:

Why people even bother giving feedbacks...

BHVR doesn't care about surv mains.

Killer mains will just flood the thread with "everything is fine except nerf surv more".

    Really, why bother?

I wouldnt say "killer mains" but people in general will act this way yes. And BHVR doesnt care. But some of us players care so much that this is the length we go to for a chance at protecting what we love

  • @Stabbicus said:

    Survivor Mains: Nurse OP!

Everyone Else: Actually, she has a high skill ceiling, meaning the better you are, the better she is. OP would be a Killer that can destroy even with low skill users.

Survivor Mains: Like we said; she's op!

Except theres no equal skill cap for survivors to reach to counter play the highest skilled nurses. It's just a steamroll. That's the issue. And it's not to make survivors stronger because 1 killer is overpower AND broken

  • @se05239 said:

Since this post directed to Behavior specifically, I am gonna ping you @Peanits.

    1. Camping and tunneling are generally a low rank issue as killers cannot afford to do either of them if they wanna rank up in the higher ranks. It sucks, of course, but that's why there are band-aid perks to help combat it (like DS or Borrowed Time).
    2. Not sure what you mean about reliability.
    3. Yep. Doesn't help that 90% of all survivors and 95% of all killers (On Steam) never reached rank 10, so new players get mixed into groups against/with players who have a much larger amount of playtime. One of the worst new player experiences in the gaming world, Dead by Daylight has.
    4. Kinda goes hand in hand with point Nr. 3. Hard to learn when you keep getting rolled over all the time as a new player. And the grind is insane, yeah. There are many people out there who've come with ideas to help lower the grind but nothings happening soooo..
    5. Add-ons and offerings spice the game up a lot and that's healthy.

I have issues with your rebuddle. 90% of people are low rank meaning you're admitting 90% of games are just face camping. Imo you're just proving his point. Which is true btw.

  • Dedicated servers are just an april fools joke

  • Bad example. Rainbow six is structured completely differently. It's only similarity is that it's also a game that people disconnect from

  • @OpenYoureyes said:

Camping is older than the Entity itself.

It will never be removed from the game.

But it can be heavily decentivised.

Which is recommended for a game like this where camping is so unpleasant that it actually makes people quit permanently for that reason alone.

  • Good idea to quit while you've still got some dignity

  • What issues do you have being a new killer from rank 20-13?

The survivors run away from me when they should just go stand by the hook and wait for me to pass judgement on their pathetic existence.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Oh well, when dedicated servers come out, they can have fun sitting 30 minutes on a cooldown time for disconnecting. Then they can see which is more boring -- playing the game or sitting on their ass looking at a timer.

No one will play the game anymore. Killers are going to wait 30 mins for a game instead of 15 since theres no survivors willing to risk their accounts to gamble on a decent solo game. Everyone either quits or plays killer. So you're really just punishing killers here

  • https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/653/8CJSAUXYLOCD.jpg https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/795/VADHVA24UDS3.jpg

    You're the host.

So you want to ban everyone who plays survivor because you have bad connection? Thatll fix the integrity of the game for sure!

  • Maybe if a survivor is looking directly at ghostface, it will properly break him out of his power........

  • The problem is, the majority of the players atm are brand new, due to the cycle of adding a new licensed player. Its how they maintain their player base. Most of these new players will inevitably get fed up with the lack of core mechanical game design functioning properly, and eventually quit. Then ranks should make more sense after that

  • @NoShinyPony said:

On which rank are you playing? I rarely come across campers.

Its every rank, it just depends on whether the killer is horny or not

  • Most useless perk in the game

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

Following your logic if someone recorded a clip destroying with say the Doctor I could then say the doctor is OP as well.

Dude he can only provide so much example in one post. Stop making illogical arguments.

  • Hi guys, I play killer since 2 years and have more than 1600 hrs of play (it is just for crybabies who talk about playtime) The new Decisive Strike is really better than the first we got but since some weeks I see an abusive use of it you can't really counter especially if you play a mid tiers killer.

You expect a survivor to roll over and die for you? It's one of the only perks that prevents tunneling and it's already been severely nerfed. Get good and start playing around it

  • Tunneling can have a BP or rank decreation or whatever, but Borrowed Time shouldn't even be a perk, borrowed time should be an implementation to the game as base for every survivor to combat tunneling killers.

Been there, tried that. You're just going to get botched at by killer mains for making this post.

If they cared about the integrity of their game they wouldve added this necessary mechanic years ago.

BHVR doesnt give a ######### about your experience mr survivor. Right? @Peanits @not_Queen

Explain why this isnt in the game yet.

  • Dbd is like a poorly paved highway.

The highway represents map, pallets, vaults. It's the structure and core foundation of our game!!

Cars are killers. They have to obey the laws of the highway.

    Nurse is an airplane.

Who the ######### is going to drive on the highway when you can just choose the plane....

  • Loadouts is good idea.. classes not so much

  • The biggest problems for me as a killer is it's way too easy to kill everyone. They all die or dc in 90 seconds.

  • @Justice said:

Once again you are not acknowledging that the best player SHOULD win. Most Nurse's are not as good as Zubat, so he SHOULD dominate with her. No one is arguing that Nurse isn't the best Killer, because she is. But it isn't so wide a margin that you are making it out to be.

You act like the Nurse is as easy to play with as Wraith... She isn't. She's hard as hell to master. Once you master her you deserve to be rewarded by beating the crap out of players that are worse than you.

Nurse is high skill, high reward. If you put in the effort to be highly skilled with her then you deserve to be highly rewarded, which most highly skilled Nurses are. And most low skilled ones AREN'T rewarded.

And if your teams keep getting 4kd by her then I would be willing to bet a large amount of money that you or your team is trying to treat her like every other Killer and you just can't do that. You HAVE to play differently against her or you die. Which is the way it SHOULD be.

You run Spine chill, Distortion, Urban Evasion, Quick and quiet. You LOS whenever possible, you don't go back to a gen she knows someone is near. You have to PREDICT and get out of an area BEFORE she gets to it. You HAVE to play stealthy. I mean REALLY stealthy. That is her weakness. But no survivor wants to play that way. They think it's boring (even though it's a huge mechanic of the game), or that it's unfair that a Killer makes them alter their play style.

So what happens? Most survivors DON'T. They run out in the open, they don't LOS, they try and loop, they use windows. They cockily keep working on a gen when she's obviously heading that way. And they pay the price for it.

Also in before "if hiding from nurse is her counter then they'll just run tracking perks" except no try hard nurse is going to give up Ruin/BBQ//DH/NC/CI/Rancor to do that. Until it becomes meta,a dn then guess what? Now the SURVIVORS have made NURSE change her build.

Keep doing the same thing against nurse and crying about the same result. And i'll wait for the "insanity" meme to drop 1,000 times over again.

rewatches Math88's depip squad and laughs even harder at this pointless thread

    /rant

Nurse runs whispers. You die in 6 seconds when your character makes a sound, because you have no good perks.

  • We all know self-care, #1 used survivor perk. Do you think it is good or bad?

Low skill survivors use it to gain an independent way of creating some security for themselves. People usually heal before coming back in to do gens or help.

At higher level play, it's great for solo queuing since you cant rely on your boosted teamates.

But all in all it's actually quite bad. It promotes bad play similar to the way sprint burst is terrible because it promotes survivors to walk everywhere and make bad plays because of trying to preserve sprint burst.

Running self care make you spend 30 seconds healing which couldve been 30 seconds on the gen. A killer can only go after 1 player at a time. In a 2 gen left situation, if you ran adrenaline instead of self care, you would be much more inclined to do the gen, getting the free heal off of adrenaline rather than waste time healing, just to get the auto heal anyway.

Is one health state worth the 30 seconds minimum or takes to run to the corner and heal, in your capable hands?? If you cant make a chase last at least 30 seconds before getting injured, then why bother healing yourself? You're just hindering your team by not maximizing your time and efforts.

Let's say you play 5 matches. That's a minute. An average DbD game takes more or less 15-20 minutes. To be generous I'll say 15.

That means it'll take 3 days of playing to amount to one match.

There are bigger fish to fry right now.

True there are much bigger issues. However this is an extremely simplistic addition that a few teenagers could program 2 days in their basement. Btw games usually last about 8-10 minutes.

It does more good than you realize. Once you play the game enough, staying in the trial just to be picked up, walked over to the hook, then sit there for 25 seconds watching your character go to struggle then enter an extremely long death scene animation, it gets old. It feels like you are just catering to the killers satisfaction. Its not enjoyable in the slightest if you didnt have a good time that game.

And people shouldnt be severely punished for choosing to leave a couple of seconds after they die. @not_Queen @Peanits

Maybe we can finally have an interface option to skip the intro animation every single time we open the damn game..? No one wants to see that every time......

If they get disconnect then they get perma banned.

    Problem solved.

This is what were trying to avoid here.

    @PolarBear said:

Would be good if the bot just went on a gen and tried to hide from the killer if it heard the TR.

This is as simple as I expected it to be if it does exists.

    @Redcum said:

They're already planning on doing that. DC'ing survivors will leave a husk which the killer can hook.

I'm guessing they're doing this when dedicated servers are coming? (Trollface)

  • It's a healthy solution for people who disconnect, therefore BHVR wont have to ban everyone who leaves a game prematurely. Considering the potential and incredibly bad state that survivor gameplay can be, you dont really want to punish people for just trying to move on with the game and have a good time in the next one.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

People keep saying "Punish the killer and repair all the gens", but what does the person on the hook get out of it? Nothing.

That's why BT has become a necessity.

This is the main problem in my opinion. It seems the long you play survivor, more rather the better you become at playing survivor, you will find yourself being the target of camp more and more often.

The people who dont get camped usually go down very quickly, the killer usually showing pity because he/she knows you're an easy down later.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/586386#Comment_586386

Not necessarily. If old facecamping was still a thing, sure. But these days you can make some pretty nutty saves with BT and DS. The Pig by comparison could just stand in front of a box and there would be nothing you could do about it. You would be guaranteed to die the second there's a trap on your head.

Lmao as if you've ever actually prevented a face camp in game against a high ranking killer. Unless a killer is a braindead rank 20. The guy who is getting face camped, is most certainly dead. Notice how you need 2 perks and even then it still doesnt prevent face camping. You said 'old' facecamping... what old facecamping??? Its never changed it's always been the same facecamping and you've done nothing to prevent it.

  • Bloodlust gamer killers like to abuse the broken mechanic of bloodlust and keep you trapped under a pallet under the entire timer ticks down to 0, so that's why you 99 the gates so the killer actually has to catch the survivor instead of wait with bloodlust.

  • You can get banned for talking about lagswitch? #########.. I mention it often as one of the leading problems with the game. Am I going to get banned @not_Queen

  • I made a post about slenderman aka the pale one and all details about what I think his power and lore should be

  • @ClogWench said:

Some killers feel entitled to a 4k. Some survivors feel entitled to an escape. Making it an us vs them situation just worsens matters though.

I play survivor and killer. It just happens that when I analyze the game from an objective point of view, and looking at quality of player experience and how to equalize and maximum its potential, I see that survivors usually could use a little help. And this is a core issue I'd like to see hashed out in order to strengthen further suggestions

  • Regardless. How do you feel about the question I'm asking, because that's the main point. You're just denying my premise

  • @Boss said:

Don't make up stuff to make a point.

There's absolutely bias, but it's not exclusive, nor do the masses demand free escapes/sacrifices.

Most comments I see seem to think this way. I'm not making anything up.

  • On pc, anyone with a direct connection to their modem using and ethernet cable can do it. It takes about 10 seconds of not being connected to get ejected from a match. So as long as you plug it back in within that time, anything you do in the match stays as reality, while the survivors are stuck in a temporary purgatory. Its awful that it still happens daily.

  • Yeah right, usually when it comes to this game I always have behaviors back but this is unacceptable.

@not_queen are they going to live up to the wait? Are we never going to have to deal with lagswitching anymore?

  • they should nerf gen times to 100 -120 and give you a notification if the killer has noed at the beginning of the end phase. Do you guys agree?

The notification is a great idea to give a light and overall fair nerf to noed. But the problem with increasing gen time is that it's just dull unfulfilling gameplay that would turn off people from choosing to play survivor. Gens are already repetitive and dull enough.

  • The lag on console is terrible. No matter what we survivors do the killer always lands his hits. Every match I experience this.

If you plan on making a post for every current problem with dead by daylight, get ready for a couple months of carpal tunnel and swamp ass.

  • Better easier solution to the original post. Opening doors is twice as fast when the hatch is closed. (:

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/585156#Comment_585156

    @MySpaceBarsBroken

You seem to be under the impression that Hatch Standoffs were anything other than both players doing nothing the vast majority of the time. Why is this?

Have you ever played at high ranks before end game? Because hatch standoffs were much more than what you're describing and you would know that with proper experience.

Its biggest flaw was how the game itself could be infinitely lasting. I'm sure anyone that agrees with me will also agree that aspect of hatch standoffs were bad. I'm simply pointing out the flaws in the current system and highlighting the positives of the old system. And speculating ways as to how to make the system better

  • @ClogWench said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/585141#Comment_585141

Which is the problem the old hatch had. You couldn't leave it cause if you weren't in grabbing range you lost. The survivor could freely leave it without consequence though. The survivor had all the tools to win just because they let their team die. No, the old hatch was garbage and now it's gone for that reason. Get used to it.

I agree with your reasoning. I dislike anything that incentivizes players to abandon their teammates to play selfishly, which the old hatch did in comparison. But that's just players being selfish, which still happens all the time.

However, The survivor makes a lot of sound which the killer can use to create some security then go in visual range of a gen to make sure hes not being made a fool.

My only point is that it was more exciting and interesting. Even on killer side. Not about survivors ethics or why the hatch was introduced in the first play, or games being held hostage (which btw is only possible if both killer and survivor are lazy/bad) it just happened too much that they changed it.

You're telling me, as a killer, lapping from door to door 12 times until you see red lights. That's fun?

  • If you're survivor and you sit on the hatch..? Jump in it if it's open? If its closed then you're pretty useless to the rest of your team. Lmao

  • @venom12784 said:

Uh no. The problem isn't the killer closing the hatch it's how close the exit gates spawn in. Increasing the spawn point would make it harder for the killer to camp both gates .

Interesting and easy solution. But I wish they would incorporate the gens in to somehow replicate that type of play we used to have with the hatch

  • @ClogWench said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/585120#Comment_585120

The fact that you consider standing afk on the hatch for 20 minutes to be more interesting gameplay than actually outsmarting the killer for an escape has basically erased any chance of me ever taking a word you say seriously. Better learn to like the new hatch cause I doubt you'll ever see the hatch standoff return.

If you stand on the hatch for 20 minutes, 17 of those minutes would be on the ending lobby screen. Because a survivor with a brain will have done the remaining gens.

@ClogWench Btw you seem very frustrated and resentful. I'm just voicing my opinion and I'm sure others who play the game like I do would agree with me here. Your arguments are more or less just attacking me as a person....
