  • The rework definitely helped him, he is much better now. He is best when pop and thrilling tremors are used effectively.

  • Damn, I was wondering if it would be god tier on Oni.

What in game experiences do you find oddly satisfying to achieve?

For me, I like when I'm playing huntress or plague and successfully get a ranged hit. That squelch noise combined with the screen shaking makes me feel so good.

Picture this, I have not been having a good trapper game, 4 man swf (I think) with OoO. Little do they know I have blood warden. I chase a kate, down her, Steve flashlight saves her, I cut Steve off at the exit gate, hook him, blood warden activates, they unhook Steve. Now here comes the best part. Less than 25% of the end game collapse timer is left and blood warden just triggered, I sat there at the exit gates nodding my head at them, because they were going to die, all 4 of them.

  • @projecteulogy said:

    Im gonna assume youre new-ish.

This suggestion would screw over solos completely, who already have a much harder game than SWF and i'd like to add A LOT of us refuse to play in SWFs.

Rarely do doors spawn on opposite ends of the map. They typically spawn very close together, that even the slowest killer can patrol them easily. Also, the hatch has a very high chance to spawn by or between the exit gates. Making it SO much easier to 4k as a killer now.

Survivors literally, cannot hostage take the game anymore. All while the killer still can if they slug everyone and no one has unbreakable. I cannot tell you how many games ive been in that i had no choice but to let my bleedout timer kill me, or DC to move on to the next game.

I don't think holding the game hostage is the problem, it's that this strategy destroys blood warden, it is a pretty cheap tactic.

  • In my opinion, the gates should regress by 5% a second when a survivor stops opening the gates.

  • @MiniPisa said:

    Can't the killer open a 99% door?

Yes, but it takes a long time and will result in loss, unless you downed someone next to a door and you're ready for blood warden.

Thanks, I kind of want to make a thread about it so I can hear how other people might change ut because it can be really helpful to get different insights and feedback here :-)

Also by taking the swf out of the context do you mean like as in just general solo survivors then? I get where the worry is but I don't think it's such a major issue dor trapper, if he traps near a gen that's being worked on and leaves, unless people know that trapper is for definite in a chase then they likely won't disarm the trap so they don't give away that they're working on the gen, even if it is risky. Survivors often also won't come near a good few traps until they're in chase as well and are forced to common loop spots that should be trapped so disarming becomes a non issue for these instances.

I don't think bloody coil being base package for trapper should ever be in the game at all but I definitely agree with you so much he needs a buff, even increasing his starting traps and the amount he can carry at a time would make such a big difference for him!

I think if something like bloody coil was to be base trapper it would lead to a lot of problems like why not also with hag, demogorgon portals etc etc

Yeah, I reconsidered blopdy coil being basket, it was pretty stupid and I edited my post. I think honing stone should be base kit though.

  • @Danu said:

This game should never ever be balanced around swf or a single perk, the day it does is the day it dies.

I agree that OoO needs a rework but I don't think having it not work for trap killers as well as stealth killers would be a lot because that rules out Trapper, Hag, Wraith, ghostface, pig, myers, freddy and potentially Plague, Demo and PH for infecting loops and gens, setting portals and making trenches respectively.

The stealth killer aspect that's currently incorporated should not be changed of course regardless as that would be so completely unfair but I think the best way to balance OoO is to have it have a cooldown similar to premonition and small game where if you are looking in the killers direction, you can look for a certain amount of time, say 10 seconds, and have to wait for a cooldown to use it.

Even if you were to take swf out of the context, they can just go over to the traps and disarm them. You do propose a pretty good change to OoO though.

  • @alaenyia said:

I enjoy playing Trapper quite a bit, I think him starting with and being able to hold more traps as a base kit would be a positive change.

    Exactly :D

my point is just making OoO not effect trapper or hag isn't the way to go, the perk needs to go it needs an entirely different thing, it is the strongest info perk for survs in the game

Agreed, it does need a complete rework.

  • @BlazeNightash said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1349505#Comment_1349505

oh it does punish alot of killers pretty badly, especially on chases if the object player is just feeding the guy whos being chase of what the killer is doing, it effects most killers poorly since it gives alot info the survs really don't need to have, hey the killer is heading this way everyone go hide or get near a god loop

True, it does affect killers very badly, but it doesn't render their power useless like it does with hag and trapper.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1349489#Comment_1349489

4-man SWF with OoO doesn't have anything to do with this because that applies to every killer, not just the Trapper.

It doesn't punish killers as badly as it does Hag and trapper.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1349468#Comment_1349468

4-man SWF with OoO is a whole other can of worms and has nothing to do with this thread. Bottom line, you can't punish players for countering something, especially in a way that renders the counter pointless.

4 man swf with OoO does have something to do with this because with that setup, they can watch your aura, tell their team where the traps are and disarm them all, however I think I can settle with just nerfing OoO so survivors can't see trap killers. Also I forgot to mention, survivors with maps can also render your power useless. So I think I have changed my mind, maybe don't give him bloody cool, just change OoO.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1349441#Comment_1349441

I could not disagree more if I tried. There is absolutely no reason to punish survivors for countering a killer's power. The power is the punishment for failure, countering is supposed to prevent it.

Good points, but tell me, do you think a 4 man swf with OoO disarming every trap around you without punishment is ok? Survivors shouldn't be able to watch your aura at all times whilst you are placing traps. That counter is absolutely too strong and needs some risk to disarming the trap.

  • @FabsRinas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1349450#Comment_1349450

Make him have a bigger TR than the average killer, I guess.

I think object shouldn't work on trapper at all, and a terror radius increase wouldn't really help.

  • @BlazeNightash said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/160743/how-we-can-save-our-poster-boy-the-trapper

trapper mainly just need to have a base starting of atleast 2 addition traps in hand, maybe make the darking yellow add-on base and for sure either move all his traps to lockers to refill with a max set of how many are allowed to be placed at one time ( older ones will despawn if you go over limit) Or just move all his traps to the center of the map. The biggest issue is how much time he wastes getting and picking up his traps around the map. Otherwise trapper is mainly fine, people just play him entirely wrong, you're not a killer whos suppose to roam around the entire map chasing survs, you set up an area around 3-4 gens you want to protect and keep that area trapped, it makes a major difference, i play trapper plenty at higher ranks and easily 3-4k every game. The only other problem i can think of is that fact there are 2 perks that hard counter trapper that survs can use, one being object(which is honestly just a toxic perk and needs to go) and small game which very few people use these days since it only is good against trapper and finding totems

Very good points, I think if they fixed object he would be fine, along with some other tweaks.

  • @FabsRinas said:

I'm all for a trapper buff as he is the killer with the most counters (not counting the general killer counters ie 360), but this is just too much.

In my opinion, he should start with 2 traps base and the add-on that darkens his traps (the weaker one).

Starting with 2 traps would be nice, but it doesn't fix him as a killer, as he can still be rendered useless by a 4 man swf with object of obsession.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1349426#Comment_1349426

I'm questioning why survivors should be punished for countering his power in the first place. What's the thought process here? They did something right, so they should be punished?

That counter is way too easy for trapper, he can be rendered completely useless and resetting takes too long with how the generator speeds are right now, sure they disarmed the trap, but I think they should be injured to make him a bit more strong.

  • If you think revealing their location is punishment in any scenario besides the end game, I don't know what to say, please elaborate.

  • @JAZC_CR said:

I gonna say I are totally agree with u, I was thinking the same things like u, bloody coil add on need to be part or their kit...

If your using OH you might as well use both kindred and bond. Not bad at all.

Tenacity as I said many times is one of the top 5 best survivor perks, so it is underrated. Saves me from being hooked so many times. Bond is also very very good if you are solo survivor..almost a must have.

Glad someone appreciates tenacity as it is great for the slugging meta with killers like nurse, billy, spirit and oni being slugging killers constantly being played at high ranks.

    They don't.

Any killer who has the "Undetectable" effect, OoO can't see them.

OoO doesn't work with Stealth Pig, Ghostface, Wraith anymore.

YOU as a killer can see them, but they cannot see you. And it doesn't work with Insidious either.

They changed it for the better of killers.

Damn it, sorry, I haven't seen that change yet, I apologise, however I don't think survivors should be able to see hag or trapper when placing traps.

    DS was already reworked.

Leave it alone. Go for another survivor, as shocking as it is, there are 4 survivors in the match.

And OoO is a bag of mixed feelings, it's high risk high reward. It can get the survivor killed or help him live.

The thing I would change about OoO is that, survivors shouldn't be able to see trap killers or stealth killers. DS is still unbalanced in my opinion as it wastes a lot of time, but I know they won't change it.

If we are talking music bands, the very most favourite one would be Linkin Park. It's one of those bands, who has no song that I wouldn't like. I've been listening to the since 2014 and kinda sad that I never got to go to their concert. Hearing Chester and Mike live would be the best thing ever. Unfortunately. it won't happen ever again.

My second favourite band should be twenty one pilots - the only band, which concert I've been to and it was a blast. I absolutely love their unique alternative sound, which mixes bunch of the elements from different music genres. The third favourite is Russian horror-punk band called Korol i Shut - I absolutely love all their songs, every and each one of them tells an interesting story, usually with a sick twist at the end.

Among other favourites are Nirvana, Slipknot, Paramore, CHVRCHES, System of a Down, Green Day, BABYMETAL, Gorillaz, Queen, The Doors, Cage the Elephant, The White Stripes, My Chemical Romance, Radiohead, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Motörhead, The Cranberries, Marilyn Manson, Slayer, The Prodigy, The HU, Powerwolf, Rammstein, Lindemann, Kodaline, Low Roar, Glass Animals, t.A.T.u., Die Antwoord, Skillet, Bring Me The Horizon, Little Big, Nine Inch Nails, Papa Roach, PVRIS and BLACKPINK.

As for solo-artists, I really like Ozzy Osbourne, Johnny Cash, Rob Zombie, Grimes, Miracle of Sound, Djo, Billie Eilish, grandson, Woodkid, Zemfira, Poppy, Sting, Eminem and Post Malone.

Overall I consider myself a melomaniac, I can find an artist that I like in basically any genre as I like all of them in one way or another. The very most favourite genres, though, are probably alternative rock and metal.

Not a fan of Linkin Park or TOP, but the rest of the bands you listed are stellar! I also love Chvrches, system, paramore, greenday, gorillaz, MCR, radiohead, and NIN.

If you consider ALL perks and ALL addons, who are the strongest killers? Basically any build and addon combo. For good measure you can give a map where the build and strategy works best.

I mean iri huntress with belt is crazy, but a really large map can make it weaker.

I’ve seen some pretty crazy games with a pinky finger clown, play with your food bubba, or basement demogorgon that seem to make counterplay nonexistent and dominance swift.

ok for a top 3 or 5! Anywhere from broken OP to just ridiculously strong with almost no counter play.

2 I think are up there (plague was before buff!)

    https://youtu.be/7kP1wD7UXN4

    https://youtu.be/Jhs_5tM6l6A

Huntress with iridescent head and the belt is stupidly overpowered and needs a nerf in my opinion. Nurse with I'm all ears and tracking perks would come second. Myers would come 3rd just for that tombstone.

  • @chenais said:

In dbd, killers have multiple strategies: they can mindgame or they can just camp and tunnel. Camping and tunneling are really unfun and there is no good argument for defending them. If your argument is "gens" or "its still possible to escape as a tunneled dude" or "killers have to deal with unfair stuff, to", then you better find something else, since I am gonna destroy all of these arguments in this post.

First of all, I need to explain why they are so bad. Camping and tunneling someone pretty much removes any chance of that person escaping.

"Yes but people can do gens, and then its a 2 man escape, which is balanced since 2k is what the balance of this game should be around". Yea, you are right, camping is balanced because of that. But there is another question here: the fun factor. If a game is not fun, then balance does not matter, people will not play it. Here is why it is unfun: first, if you are one of the 2 camped or tunneled survivors, you have pretty much no chance at escaping, which does not feel good. If you are one of the 2 people doing gens, then what fun is this? You are skipping the most fun and interactive part of the game, which is getting chased, to do the boring task of holding m1. So none of the survivors have fun, and fun is more important than balance, since it is what makes people play a game.

Then, we have the "it is possible to escape even while being camped or tunneled". Yes, I agree, it is possible to escape such a situation. However, you are at a massive disadvantage if this is the case. It does not feel ok at all to lose because of a big disadvantage that you do not have any control on. Its like saying "4 man swf it is still possible to win".

Finally, we have the "yea but killers have to deal with unfair stuff, tho". I am gonna reapply your logic so that you can understand that it is not that good. Imagine this scenario: they are 2 countries at war. Country 1 kills innocent people in country 2, so country 2 justifies killing innocent people from country 1 by saying that country 2 did the same. Now, I get that there is a difference between playing unfairly in dbd and killing real people, but this is the exact same argument, just on a much smaller scale.

So hopefully people start realizing that camping and tunneling are not fun. Hopefully they are fixed soon enough.

    Have a nice day.

First of all, killers get punished for camping with emblems and they will likely depip or black pip. Also, you are acting extremely cocky in this post, because what's fun and what isn't is completely subjective, so you can defend that argument. I know tons of survivor mains who would rather be tunneled the entire game and then facecamped by a Bubba then have a boring game where you gen rush and everyone escapes with no killer interaction. I personally agree. I also found your comparison to be extremely dumb in paragraph 5. I could literally destroy this entire argument with, what's fun is subjective. Next.

  • I am a music nerd, I absolutely love music. I listen to all genres. My favourite artists are swans, Godspeed you! black emperor, radiohead, death grips, a tribe called quest, John Coltrane, Queens of the stone age, every Phil Elverum band and many more! I am not much of a gamer, but I love dbd and have been playing it for over 2 years now! I love reading books and my favourite author is Stephen King. My favourite books by him are the dark tower series, the stand, IT, pet semetary, insomnia and Carry. Halloween is obviously my favourite holiday and I love Autumn. I have a 1 year old bulldog. My favourite horror movie is Insidious, as it is the only horror movie that genuinely scared me. I love listening to music critics like Anthony Fantano AKA theneedledrop as I have found a lot of the music I love from him. I play dbd on ps4, and my main killer is trapper and soon to be Oni and Pyramid head! The only genre I dislike in music is screamo or black metal. I think the only killer that can have death itself is nurse.

  • In my opinion, she is the most complex killer and the hardest to learn. If you master hag like spectrobyss, croquedead or space coconut have, she can be the second best killer in the game. Her add-ons aren't the best and the green ones are pretty much her only good add-ons but she doesn't even need add-ons. Good hags know where to place the traps and can destroy a 4 man swf at rank 1 with DS, head on and all of those top tier perks, even if the survivor is amazing, a master hag will destroy them no matter what.

Figured I might as well try to lighten the mood with a fun, light-hearted thread.

Since the devs are now going to "out" everyone's orientations, who do you think is heterosexual, who do you think is homosexual, who do you think is bisexual, and who do you think is asexual? Keep in mind this will likely only apply to original characters, not licensed ones.

I don't think any characters are going to be bisexual or asexual because they're usually forgotten in the media.

I'll return to this thread in several hours to comment whom I think will be what and read all your replies. If you see someone going off-topic or being an #########, please ignore them so we can have a fun conversation about this.

PS: If you're someone who "doesn't care", why are you even in this thread?

Hmm, my guess would be Jake, and I don't know why, but I think that of all male survivors to be homosexual it would be Jake. I can see how Nea is lesbian but I have no evidence to support this, but they are guesses.

the killer experience at rank one is stressful at its best and just dreadful at its worst. I have heard many killer main streamers/youtubers complain of the same fact. Its just not worth sweating your ass off ever game just to have a chance and im done with it.

I have lost all hope that these devs have any clue how to fix their game and im sick of SWF groups roaming around in a game that was clearly balanced around solo que. I was looking forward to the balancing map changes and im saddened to see that only the most obvious of issues was even looked at. This leads me to think that the balance team of DBD plays and balances around what feels right for low skill solo players. Ruin was nerfed into oblivion entirely because new players understandably couldn't hit that skillcheck, so the devs removed it. Even though at high ranks it only gave the killer a sliver of respite from gens flying. Pretty good job so far.

DBD is a great idea, ruined by incompetence. And I don't think its going to get better anymore. Anyone in a similar situation to me and is fed up with this nonsense, go play Escape from Tarkov. Its a game that can crank the intensity to 11 like dbd, but made by devs who actually care.

I have been enlightened in dbd recently by Scott Jund, who made a video about toxicity and how stupid it is and how you shouldn't care about it, I have tons of fun playing killer now, and I feel much more confident playing the game then before, sure there are tons of problems like survivor perks, matchmaking, keys and maps, but I am currently having a lot of fun. I take breaks sometimes from the game and when I come back a week later, I have a lot of fun.

True it was very glitchy, but in some odd way the glitches often made it even more funnier. We used to all fall apart when the car started doing forward flips or a survivor was floating around the camp in a seated position.

It's shame it couldn't of been throughly fixed and not be blighted by the lawsuit.

In regards to the films, I find them enjoyable but the tongue is firmly in the cheek 😉

I read your comment on why you like it, and that genuinely sounded fun. But I don't like when there is only 1 killer and that is Jason.

You cannot possibly compare Ebony Mori with ANY of the survivor perks, items or addons.

First of all Ebony Mori is an OFFERING and it prematurely removes survivors from the game usually resulting in a sure win for the killer. I don't recall any survivor offerings that basically win you the game just by playing it.

As for the survivor's perks and item addons, ofcourse there are some that have some sort of impact if used properly but they actually require some skill/experience in using them; Mori requires no skill at all to use: You just equip it and you can kill any survivor if opportunity presents itself.

Haddonfield and Ormond map offering will result in the survivor winning.

  • @johnmwarner said:

So before I start, let me say I know this isn't all survivors and I do give hatch fairly frequently. If someone DCs early or kills themselves on first hook I'll usually give last survivor hatch because I play survivor myself and I know how frustrating that can be. Also if it was just a really good game, no BM from either side and just generally "competitive," I'll let someone go if I am fortunate enough to win. Of course if someone teabags nonstop or clicky clicks then that goes out the window sorry.

But anyways just had a game where 2 were dead and I hooked the third but she was on second stage not death, the fourth instantly runs out in front of me and waits so I killed her. Post game she says,"I gave myself up and you killed me, D-move bro." Okay, so a couple points.

First, you gave up when your teammate still had life so NO you do not get hatch.

Second, you were a Blendette so NO you do not get hatch. This was further substantiated by the fact that the point totals for survivors were 12k, 10k, 9k and 7k guess who had 7000? Right, this blendette does the least all game, gives up before it's really over, and feels she deserves hatch? LAUGHABLE

I don't find blendettes as triggering as other survivors, I will usually ensure that a p3 or p2 dwight will die at all costs.
