DS and OoO

I wonder when these perks will be reworked...

DS despite what devs says its antitunnel perk,we all know but whatever... antimomentum... (I want an antimomentum perk like if i get hit with a pallet I get a skillcheck and if i hit it that survivor get instadown). They should remove invencibility if u repair and enter in a locked (locker is antimomentum as hell, basically lose the thrill of the chase like I reach my house so the wolf cant do me anything).

On the other hand OoO could be something like survivor get a buff on certain actions if he escape from the killer and killer get a buff if they land a hit. That would be an interesting mechanic.Only works if you are the obssesion of course.

Comments

  • DS was already reworked.

Leave it alone. Go for another survivor, as shocking as it is, there are 4 survivors in the match.

And OoO is a bag of mixed feelings, it's high risk high reward. It can get the survivor killed or help him live.

  • OoO should be competely reworked in my opinion because it really doesnt belong in a horror game.

What is scary when you see it coming?

Object of obsession can maybe be that you see the aura of the killer when he chases another survivor?

I agree DS is fine how annoying it can be.

  • DS should still get some further updates, only because it was changed already doesn't mean it's perfect, far from it. Some changes to make it more of an anti-tunneling perk (because as many, even devs stated it wasn't designed as such) should happen since this is the main reason why most of the people run it, to lessen the issue of tunneling. Problem lies when players use it for protection from getting punished for overly bold/dumb plays to reset killer's momentum since they know that killer can't punish them for those unless they waste tons of time on waiting DS out.

OoO need completely new effect sicne it's past mending with how damaging it can be in some scenarios.

The thing I would change about OoO is that, survivors shouldn't be able to see trap killers or stealth killers. DS is still unbalanced in my opinion as it wastes a lot of time, but I know they won't change it.

    They don't.

Any killer who has the "Undetectable" effect, OoO can't see them.

OoO doesn't work with Stealth Pig, Ghostface, Wraith anymore.

YOU as a killer can see them, but they cannot see you. And it doesn't work with Insidious either.

They changed it for the better of killers.

I'd like to know as well.

  • It does, whenever I face stealth killers with OoO you can use it to pinpoint their location by slowly adjusting the edges of your screen. It's pretty usefull for knowing from which direction they're coming even if you can't tell how far they are.

I will copy paste the description for you...

A supernatural bond links you to the Killer.

If you are looking in the Killer's direction, your link will reveal your Auras to each other.

This effect applies only if you are outside of the Killer's Terror Radius.

As the Killer's Obsession, this effect applies to a maximum range of 56/64/72 metres. Otherwise, it applies to a maximum range of 44/56/64 metres.

Increases the odds of being the Obsession.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

"He was watching me!" — Laurie StrodeA supernatural bond links you to the Killer.

So if you look at killer direction it will blink in undetectable and killer can be looking at you or not but you know if he is coming to ypu or not like spinechill

The said always able to see you. Which I would interpret to mean whether you're looking at them or not. It would also mean the killer could see you from inside their terror radius.

Pretty much with added benefit of revealing everything non-stealth killer does, be it breaking gens/pallets, placing traps, chasing someone or anything you want to know and possibly tell to your SWF friends if you have them.

Killer knowing where you are imao isn't really as bad as some may say it is (especially if you're good or even very good looper, then it's also a trap for killers who decide to go for you) since killers mostly knows where survivors are - ON GENS - knowing where survivor is doesn't alway equate into having an opportunity to capitalise on that knowledge.

OoO is pretty broken and main reason why more people don't use it is since killers really and I mean REALLY dislike OoO users to the point of throwing the game just to tunnel & facecamp them to death and also since generally most survivors suck at looping so they actually don't want all that attention object might give them.

Gotcha, I guess I've never had trouble with it because I'm a Spirit/Nurse/Huntress main and I need to know where everyone is at all times.

But yeah, playing Wraith, Trapper, Clown etc, I can see how it hurts them.

Doesn't it seem weird that killers slug left and right, and when you complain or say anything about it they tell you to shut up.... but when they complain about DS and you tell them to slug.... they just find excuses?

This seems like a DS witch - hunt imo.

Oh, I don't care being slugged. I accept it as a valid method to cancel out my DS. As a killer, I also do it.

But yes, there has been an obvious Witch Hunt against DS these past months. Killers are wanting kills handed to them even thought maps were reworked, many dead zones were made, safe pallets were removed and infinites were taken out.

  • @dimar18 said:

Exactly, and I mean, whew I used that slugging example I wasn't trying to say it was op, Im just curious why they slug left and right when there isn't any DS, but when there is A DS they dont slug and just open a thread and cry here.

But yeah there's a witch hunt for this, and this is probably cause of streamers.

    Yup! Agreed 100%.

When they want to slug for the 4k it's okay, when they want to slug before the last gen pops it's fine. But mention slugging to counter DS and they go insane.

"Bro, you can't slug because they might have Adrenaline, Unbreakable, alsdf haisodhfasdjf"

"You can't slug because the stars aren't aligning."

"You can't slug because it's a 4 man SWF and it's a waste of time."

  • Run it with Sole Survivor, as intended.

I love that people still insist that:

    A) a reworked perk is balanced entirely because it got a rework.

    B) DS only gets triggered if you tunnel.

    C) swf isn't a thing.

    D) you can just leave survivors alone for an entire minute after they get unhooked.

    E) you can actually find other survivors in a reasonable amount of time and also have the capability to down them very quickly to make up for lost map pressure and the fact that some obnoxious DSer just popped a gen behind you.

Honestly, I'm mostly surprised that you think a reworked thing = balanced thing. I guess Spirit is A-okay, then? Freddy is totally fine? Nurse is all right? Good to know. If something gets a rework, it is fine, balanced and shouldn't be touched.

Let's all ignore the fact that DS got buffed to a 5-second stun to circumnavigate Enduring and never got nerfed.

  • The only thing DS needs is for it to deactivate once you start an action (healing someone, repairing a gen, unhooking someone).

It gives survivors invincibility for a whole minute and punishes the killer for not having a timer ready at all times, even if they go and hook a different survivor.

Thats antimomentum right? its not fair 1 min of inmunity same should be for killers

That would be fine and dandy if there were alternatives for survivors to use in prolonging a chase.

there are already killers that literally focus on prolonging the game - Pig, Plague, Freddy, Trapper because they have second objectives and that breaks the momentum of the game - same with totems.

there is literally no reason for one of the core mechanics to suddenly cuck a survivor over because the killer was being too greedy and got stunned instead of backing out. One of the things that a killer has to learn is to bait out the pallet without being stunned - likewise, a survivor also has to learn how to bait the killer into a stun. There DOESNT need to be a third party involved that rewards a killer for a bad play because killers already have plenty of those in the form of perks. (Same with survivors but we aren’t talking about them here). Putting something like that in the game will reduce the skill of a killer but also make pallets totally useless

  • For everyone curios about the interaction with OoO and Undetectable here's how it works:

When the killer is on your screen, the perk icon will light up in the bottom right corner. Your aura is now being shown to the killer. You cannot see their aura, only know they're somewhere on your screen and also constantly moving.

    It's like premonition but better.

  • If DS is an antitunnel perk, I'm sure nobody will object to DS no longer losing timer in a chase, heavily punishing tunnelers, but ending rapidly if you start to repair a gen or assist a teammate. Which you cannot do while being tunneled. Hell, give it other buffs if you want! You can have a free no exhaustion Sprint Burst after you stab the killer. Simply make it a real antitunneling perk.

Current DS is the ability to make high risk, high reward plays into low risk, high reward plays, converting the killer's pressure on you into your pressure on them. Using active DS to unhook aggressively or work vital gens in the killer's face is a staple of skilled survivors.

A killer is spending precious time to chase you off a gen just to get a slug they can't pick up that's in a gen area where your team wants to go anyway; 'just slug' is a shallow answer.

There can be 4x DS, 2 unhooks per DS, 1 minute of DS per unhook, meaning the killer who doesn't tunnel at all is subject to 8 minutes of this. 8 minutes of someone who can work on gens with low to no risk. That's not antitunneling; that's a punishment for playing well. The killer is up against a team who can do all the gens in 3 to 5 minutes; how do those numbers sound? Compare if you actually tunnel. 2 minutes of DS. Possibly 10 seconds of DS if you just eat it because you must. Is the killer actually being punished for tunneling? Or is the killer being forced to tunnel?

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

If you get fully healed and can repair generators while DS is active.. you aren't being tunneled. That's why DS need to be changed to be actual anti tunneling perk instead of crutch

Thats the thing. A lot of players know DS is not just anti tunneling perk, but free immunity for 60s 2x during the match. That's why they are so heavily against changing the perk. To add insult to the injury there are no longer soft counter perks either, such as enduring, unnerving, skillcheck is larger.. Currently DS is just another crutch which punish the killer for doing well and having good pressure going with multiple hooks.

Make DS timer stop by all means if you are in chase, but the timer should move rapidly if you are repairing generators, healing etc.
